whostolemyapples If you can launch the game at all, there's a Bin folder somewhere, I mean it absolutely has to exist. So maybe you're looking at a partial duplicate install.
The first problem sounds like this:
Frozen game/menu after ad | EA Forums - 12008756
The second one is somewhat common and has a number of causes. The next question is whether you can load a different, previously-unplayed household within the same save. Click Load Game rather than Resume and choose that other household; you don't need to save your progress.

I ended up deciding to completely uninstall & reinstall sims 4 on my PC. It's alarming that in my EA Games programme files there is no "bin" folder at all. I don't know what happened :(
I'm hoping that when sims is installed, everything required is there.
\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin (<this does not exist for me)
These are some of the issues I experienced:
- The pop up about Fairy pack - I would press the X (esc) but it would stay open/ stuck. I was stuck on this page.
- I'd click on my household save to load into the household (from homepage) but it would just keep loading for hours & hours. I can never actually get to the household :(
Thanks again for your help!
whostolemyapples You'll need to edit GraphicsCards.sgr, which is located in the game's program files, here by default in an EA App or Steam install, respectively:
C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Sims 4\Game\BinRather than editing the original, right-click GraphicsCards.sgr and select Copy. Then open ConfigOverride, inside Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4, and right-click the empty space and Paste. This will give you a spare copy to work with, one that will also not be overwritten when you update or repair the game.
Open this copy of GraphicsCards, and right at the top, under the vendor "ATI" line, add this:
card 0x1506 "AMD Radeon Graphics" $cardLevelUber $resolutionHigh
Make sure the line is indented like the ones below it, four spaces from the left in my copy.
I'm not convinced your GPU should be rated as Uber, but it doesn't actually matter—you can adjust the graphics settings however you want regardless of this value. All it does is determine the default settings.
However, this may not help with the actual issue, so if and when it doesn't, please let me know what you see instead of the game loading properly.
CRUZADO_101 Yes you can leave it alone. Unrecognized doesn't mean unused, and if you see your RTX 4050 in Config.log, the game is using it.

Oh, I also have that problem but it doesn't seem to be affecting my gameplay. I have Nvidia GeForce Rtx 4050. I would like to ask if can I still use it even though it is not recognize? Can I leave it be?

Thanks for your help! My game hasn't been loading properly ever since I got the error code for unrecognised video card. I even tried re-setting my game by creating a new EA folder (adding "old" to file name & launching the game so that a new folder got created. I also cleared EA cache & repaired the game in EA & ensured my graphics didn't need to be updated.
This is the config including next few lines:
=== Graphics device info ===
Number: 0
Name (driver): AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics
Name (database): [Found: 0, Supported: 1]
Vendor: ATI
Chipset: Vendor: 1002, Device: 1506, Board: 8b2f103c, Chipset: 00c1
Driver: , Version: 32.0.11020.16, GUID: 3A1A5113-EDD8-11EF-9681-806E6F6E6963
Driver version: 16Thanks for your help!!
whostolemyapples The "unrecognized video card" error happens when the GPU's device ID isn't in the game's database, which happens because new device IDs tend to get added late and sporadically. It isn't typically an indication of a system issue. But if you'd like to address it, please post the next few lines below the part of Config.log you've already provided, and I can tell you what to do from there.
