Why is aim assist allowed in Ranked?
People always say that aim assist exists to help casual players. If that's the case, I don't understand why it's still allowed in Ranked and the competitive scene. Is it impossible to see a competition based purely on raw skill among top players in Apex? I can understand having it in casual or other modes, but I don't get why it's in Ranked. Dear Respawn Entertainment & Apex Legends Development Team, I am a dedicated Apex Legends player currently sitting in Diamond IV during Season 28 (April 2026). I have been playing since the early seasons and truly love the game, but I have identified a structural issue in the Ranked system that is negatively affecting competitive integrity and player enjoyment, especially for solo and duo queue players. 1. The Core Problem: Performance vs. Visible Rank Mismatch Passive climbing / Carry dependency: It is too easy to reach and stay in Diamond+ by being carried or through low-impact third-parties, without the mechanical skill, movement, or decision-making expected at that tier. MMR Friction: Matchmaking frequently pairs players with the exact same visible rank (e.g. Diamond IV) but drastically different real skill levels (some playing at a clear Gold/Platinum mechanical level). Low individual accountability: The current system heavily rewards team placement and kills/assists regardless of personal contribution. This creates inconsistent lobbies, frustration for skilled solo players, and devalues the meaning of Ranked badges. 2. Proposed Solution: “Skill-First” Ranked Formula I propose evolving the existing Season 28 RP system by shifting 55-60 % of RP progress toward verifiable individual performance, while keeping the Battle Royale identity intact. New RP Formula: RP Net = [Team Positioning RP] + [(Kills + Assists) × Value per Position × Individual Multiplier] + [Personal Damage Bonus] – [Entry Cost] Key Components: Team Positioning RP: Keep exactly as it is today (+125 for 1st place, +95 for 2nd, etc.). Survival and smart rotations must still be rewarded. Kills + Assists: Keep the current scaling values based on final squad position (higher value in top 5). Individual Multiplier (the core filter): Calculated as a rolling average every 10 matches. Compares your Personal Damage Average (plus weighted damage in final-circle fights) against the expected average for your current visible rank. Range: 0.75× (underperformers) → 1.35× (consistent high performers). This makes it statistically much harder to climb or stay in a rank you are not actively contributing to. Personal Damage Bonus: +1 RP for every 300 damage dealt (capped at +40 RP per match). The bonus scales higher the better your final placement, heavily rewarding high-impact damage in late-game fights instead of early poke or cheap third-party finishes. 3. Strengthening Hidden Skill MMR & Matchmaking To complement the RP changes, refine the existing hidden Skill MMR: Primary metrics: Damage Per Minute (DPM), Percentage of Team Damage dealt, adjusted K/D by position, and the Individual Multiplier from the last 10–20 games. Clustering: Within the same visible rank (e.g. Diamond IV), prioritize matchmaking players with similar Individual Multipliers and hidden MMR. This would dramatically reduce the “Diamond badge but Platinum skill” problem in random queues. 4. Expected Benefits Ranks become a true reflection of individual skill rather than time played or carry luck. Solo and duo players get much fairer and more consistent games. Players are incentivized to improve their own mechanics and game sense. Long-term increase in player retention and competitive health of the Ranked mode. I believe this would be one of the most impactful Ranked improvements since the current system was introduced. All the required data (damage, final-circle contribution, etc.) is already tracked by the game, so implementation is technically straightforward. I don’t know if this happens to anyone else but I’m getting frustrated by it. I’m in a ranked game and in random moments it just disconnects me off the game. No it’s not my connection, I have a LAN cable with 300MBPS connection speed. It’s happened to me twice by now and not only that, I’m getting a penalty for “abandoning” the game and an MR reduction. I think the biggest issue people have with the character is that Axle's abilities completely violate the flow and timing of fights. Even at their strongest, characters like Octane, Horizon, Ash, and Alter still remained within the bounds of the game's timing. Axle has completely changed that timing, and for a lot of people it ruins the experience and flow of the game. Axle will invariably get nerfed, but how will that look? The way the kit is designed pretty much makes this character all or nothing. The tactical ability: This is basically an Octane ult on steroids that refreshes way too quickly. Players stay low to the ground, can potentially get double jumps from the purple perk, and the pads remain forever (unless destroyed, similar to Octane's pad). Possible nerfs: Substantially increased cooldown time, only x amount of pads deployed at one time, substantially decreased sliding distance, pads disappearing after x amount of time, only Axle being able to use them. The ultimate: heat seeking missile that goes through any fortification Possible nerfs: Gibby bubble, Newcastle wall, Wattson pylon (stops ult entirely)/fences, Crypto emp all make the ult detonate before breaching. All of these nerfs will greatly diminish the potency and viability of this character. I actually don’t hate Axle. To be honest, I think she brought a pretty interesting and refreshing pace to Apex. That said, I do think her Ultimate is currently too punishing for certain weapon types. I’m not even saying the Ultimate necessarily needs less HP. The problem is that some weapons are naturally far worse at dealing with it than others. Maybe instead of simply lowering the drone’s health, could experiment with weapon-class damage multipliers against the Ultimate. For example: shotguns could deal bonus damage to the drone at close range Snipers and Marksman weapons could also receive increased damage against it while automatic weapons would remain mostly unchanged. That way, the Ultimate still stays threatening, but counterplay becomes less frustrating depending on your loadout.25Views0likes0CommentsNew Apex Season: Shadows Mask
So: new season idea, and its pretty easy to inplement tbh. Shadow Royale, love or hate it I think it has its merits. I think a new season based around it woukd be incredible one of these upcoming halloweens. Here would be some of the highlights: Bring back night time maps. E-District at Night, King's Canyon at Night, Olympus at Night, etc. I know I and plenty of other people appreciate the darker courts sometimes, and would love to see them in game in some way. New Legend: Shadow Revenant We already have a backstory, some abilities, animations, voice lines, etc. He can wall run and does 50 per melee, he can launch a rev shell as a tactical, there are plenty of ideas explored through halloween events that can be used as his abilities. New Gun: Mozam-mash Let's be real: the communitu live the Mozamblam, Mozamblique, and Mozambrrrr, so bring them back. Make them into one gun like the car which switches ammo types to do its different effects, and nerf them all a bit to make it balanced for game. No one will pass by a Mozambique again !!!! New Cosmetics: Halloween themed skins for some of the newer arrivals, like a skeletal motorbiker Axle and a Magma Catalyst, maybe a Mummy Sparrow and a Frankenstein (Victor Frankenstein) Ballistic. In the game of wild card there is already in advantage when it comes to Octane being able to move fast and heal with it added advantage when you place the jump pad giving you the ability to quick maneuver but even in the air however this new Apex Legend AXLE will essentially be allowed to be and octane with the same region abilities but she will be lower to the ground making it harder for her to hit and have an advantage for eliminating targets by making them available to be attacked by the lobby by thrusting them into the air. Also again there is an emo like dressing or theme again with another character not to say there's anything wrong with emo just kind of played out for me. Hello. I'm Vantage main since season 20 and I feel like in season 29 she became “more clunkier” to use in two particular areas: I feel like there are now more instances when I can see an enemy and get information about their armor, but can’t mark them for my teammates (when I try to ping them I either ping a nearby environmental object with “Let’s go there” or even get generic “Enemies over there” ping that doesn’t mark them). I can’t point my finger on exact conditions when marking fails, but I feel like most of the time it happens when there is some foliage or cover in line of sight, so it may be related to Season 29’th Health Bar Updates. I wouldn’t mind if cover prevented Vantage from getting a read on enemies completely, but when you can see their armor, but can’t relate that information to your teammates via ping, it’s a bit frustrating. The replacement of 3x Optic with 4x in Vantage’s Ultimate made it harder to use it at mid-range in the middle of active engagement. I’m playing on console with default controller settings and the camera movement speed with 4x optic is often too slow to keep up with opponents who move around at the opposite end of your POI. You can probably deal with this by changing sensitivity or periodically zooming out, but this and the fact that the new 2x optic requires a separate button to activate contributes to the feeling that Vantage’s ultimate had become too mechanically complex to be used (this is probably not a common issue, but I struggle with multi-button inputs in all games). I feel like 3x and 8x was the sweet spot for the mid and long-range optics, so it would be great to replace 4x with 3x. I would also prefer (I think) if 2x optic was incorporated into the standard optic switching (you use the same button to cycle between three options), so if that can be added as an option to the settings, that would be great. Im playing since season 2, rigth now the Game is great but so Buggy that every time i played i Had some issues( Not even taking in that stormpoint is still Not playable) 1. Games not starting, funny part when the Mail came they fixed that 3/3 Times i tryed it wouldnt start 2. **bleep** cant hear my teammates Bug was Back(tryed closing Game, looked in the settings, unplugged Headsets Nothing worked)3. I come in the Game and my settings are reset to Standard so i need to Close and Open the Game Back Up to get my settings Back. At this Point i am asking myself why tf i should not delet this Game. Even If i enjoy it, for Just playing 2-3 h a week with friends IT IS Not worth the Stress... The last few weeks I've noticed the weekly store skins have been pretty much the same week in and week out, if its not the same weapons, its the same legends getting recolors, pack bundles etc etc. I would absolutely love for you to bring back the Splash of Color G7 Scout skin and add it to the store, its an incredibly beautiful skin, especially for a purple, and it was one of those "treasure pack" skins where you had to play everyday for like a month and find a treasure pack to get it, which was unobtainable for many people like myself who work, study or have family commitments that prevent them from playing daily. I believe the skin was from Season 12 although I could be wrong, so it would be absolutely awesome to bring this into the store, whether as part of a bundle, heirloom collection, original + recolor combo or even just as a listing under available skins for the g7 purchasable by apex coins.
