I am getting all kinds of server side lag. My name on the scoreboard constantly shows a wifi symbol with an exclamation point through it. Here are some of things I am experiencing: Sliding in different directions like I am drifting. Severely delayed ADS Rubber-banding back and forth and watching friendlies and enemies do the same. When firing or receiving fire I die instantly with no one there. This problem existed in the beta and I assumed it was a server load problem. I tried various fixes and speedtests on my end and I have no problem in any other online game, including Battlefield 5. Is this a known issue? Is there a fix? Can we change are server location?SolvedS9Immortalis2 months agoSeasoned Novice96KViews252likes586CommentsPSA: Mouse Input is broken in this game (looks similar to bad frame timing)
Mouse input is broken, which ruins an otherwise well optimised game. This looks to be getting confused with poor frame timing in a lot of threads, but controller input is unaffected. For reference, I easily average over 100fps even on the bigger maps, but panning the camera with mouse input makes the game feel like it's running at 15fps despite no drops. In-game reporting confirms it's running perfectly, as CPU/GPU are always rendering within 10fps of eachother. Connect a controller though? Buttery smooth camera panning, and easy to track enemies. No hitches or stutters, just butter. I've tried: - All polling rates, from 125hz up to 4000hz - Toggling raw input on/off - Enabling/disabling Nvidia reflex - Changing USB ports, changing to different mice, wired/wireless - USB power saving etc all turned off - I even tried a driver/Nvidia CP restore, but as controller is super smooth, this was a long shot in the first place Unfortunately the game is unplayable using a mouse on PC due to this. It's next to impossible to track targets, and you quickly get a headache from the micro stuttering when panning. The effect is very similar to Helldivers 2 on PC, when you turn off 'Mouse Smoothing', as that game has serious issues with raw mouse input. Happy to hear suggestions on how to fix this. Mice tried: - Keychron M4 - Logitech G305 - Logitech G604 - Razer Naga Hyperspeed - AttackShark M1 I've also tried on an entirely different PC, same results. OLED as always exhacerbates the issue too, due to the awesome pixel response times. I fear many won't see it due to slower LCDs. Specs are: 5700x3d 3060ti 8GB 32GB DDR4 3600 CL16 AW3423DW (Gsync module version) This is on a fresh Windows install, up to date drivers (tried DDU as well to be sure), but honestly since it's running beautifully with a controller, this looks to be purely a mouse input issue. No other games exhibit this issue other than... Helldivers 2, and Battlefield V. BF1 is butter on mouse, as are BF3 and BF4. Helldivers 2 can be fixed by turning on mouse smoothing in game. I almost bought a GPU upgrade before testing the Xbox controller, saved myself £600. Latest CM post: Hi everyone, Thanks for sharing your experiences and feedback so far. We understand this issue is especially frustrating when it impacts your ability to play smoothly with a mouse. While we’ve asked for similar information before (here), to move forward and make meaningful progress, it is absolutely essential that you provide detailed and precise information responding to the specific request below. Giving vague comments without concrete details won’t help us troubleshoot, escalate, or investigate effectively. If you’re able to, please reply directly to this post by clicking the Reply button on this post. This keeps your info neatly organised and makes it much easier for us (and the studio) to track everything. Please avoid replying to the original post or posting at the bottom of the thread, as this makes it harder for everyone to follow the conversation. Here’s what would be super helpful for us to know: Mouse mode (wired or wireless) Mouse polling rate (e.g. 1000Hz) Whether you’re using mouse software (like Razer Synapse) Where your mouse is plugged in (PC, monitor, hub, etc.) Keyboard model and connection type (wired/wireless) Keyboard polling rate Whether you’re using keyboard software Where your keyboard is plugged in Monitor model Full PC specs (CPU, GPU with driver version, RAM) Full Windows OS version (not just "Windows 11") Whether Gsync or VRR is enabled Full screen mode (fullscreen, borderless, windowed) Which platform do you play on (EA app or Steam) Any overlays active during play (Discord, EA app, Nvidia overlay, etc.) CPU and GPU usage percentages while playing Whether the issue improves with a framerate cap (e.g. 125 FPS) The more details you can share, the better we can help. We know it’s a lot to ask, but this is the only way we can ensure the right information reaches the team and move things forward. Thanks so much for your patience and for helping us out with this. I play on PC, bought the phantom edition on steam for BF6 and played the beta. In the Beta, my game was genuinely unplayable. the constant frame drops and audio tearing made me try everything I could find online about how to fix it and nothing did. now that the game is officially out, I booted it up and it was completely fine (100+ fps no lag nothing) until about 30 minutes in game when boom. instant frame drops, audio tearing, CPU usage at 100%. I cannot find a single fix and I'm starting to wonder if I'm the only one dealing with this issue. I’ve been experiencing constant packet loss and latency issues mainly when playing the large scale battle maps/game modes but when switching to the smaller scale maps the issue is gone completely. It’s like playing the game in slow motion basically when I just try to deal with it on the bigger maps/modes. I’m running the game on a gaming laptop with a 13th gen i7, rtx 4070 and 16 GB RAM. When the packet loss/latency issues aren’t happening (rarely) I’m running the game smoothly with around 100+ fps and my connection is completely fine (tested other games and conducted internet speed tests). I've posted about this on Reddit and have found that many others are experiencing this issue as well even with better PC set ups also. Hopefully this gets fixed, pretty bummed out that I can’t experience the craziness of the large scale battles BF is known for. EDIT: A work around for this issue for me is the community servers. I’ve played large scale maps and battles with little to no issues. Hopefully this helps you guys out. Still sucks that we can’t play the official servers without having to deal with this.NeisanHBr2 months agoSeasoned Rookie40KViews281likes127CommentsBattlefield 6 connects to Chile servers instead of U.S. East
TLDR: I live in Maryland USA but Battlefield 6 keeps routing me to the Santiago Chile data center every time I launch the game. It causes constant connection issues and high ping. I have done every possible local fix. This looks like an EA backend tenancy issue that needs a reset. I’m hoping to find out if anyone else is running into this same issue or if EA staff can take a look. I’m located in Maryland USA and my IP geolocation is confirmed by multiple lookup sites. However, every time I launch Battlefield 6 on PC (Steam plus EA App), my in-game tenancy shows: PROD_DEFAULT-SANTIAGO-COMMON That’s the Chile data center, roughly 4000 miles away from me. As a result, every server I join has high latency, constant orange connection icons, and severe desync, making the game nearly unplayable. I can’t join my US friends without connection problems. Here’s what I’ve already done (none of this fixed it): Confirmed my EA Account regional settings are set to United States Cleared all EA App caches (ProgramData, AppData, LocalAppData) Deleted and rebuilt all Battlefield 6 settings files Flushed DNS, Winsock, and IP stack Set DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1 Verified game files in Steam Switched between automatic and manual IP assignment Tested multiple VPN endpoints (New York, Virginia, Chicago) Confirmed my public IP geolocates to Maryland on multiple services Even after all that, the game still forces me to the Santiago tenancy every login What I’ve concluded: This appears to be an EA backend issue where my account’s tenancy token is stuck on the wrong data center. Other users have reported similar problems in previous Battlefield titles when their accounts were cached to the wrong region. My account region and network are fine. It seems to be a stale entry in EA’s matchmaking or tenancy database that needs a server-ops reset. What I’ve tried with EA Support: Submitted two tickets (they don’t show up in My Cases) No visible confirmation or escalation yet What I’m hoping for: To find out if anyone else is also being routed to Santiago or another far-away data center despite being in the US Maybe get visibility from an EA community manager or support agent who can flag this for a tenancy reset on my account If you’re having this issue too, please reply with your location, platform, and what data center your game shows (bottom-right corner of the main menu). It will help demonstrate that this is a wider backend bug, not just a local problem.SolvedTUBBYSEASTAR2 months agoSeasoned Adventurer33KViews165likes486CommentsBF6 crashing and causing PC to restart

CM title editSolvedTime Nudge (TN) issue Megathread
Hello! I've been dealing with issues relating to Time Nudge spikes (can manifest either as high lag or "slow-motion") and high consistent Time Nudge since about Battlefield 2042 update #3.0.0, and these issues have persisted into the BF6 beta, keeping me from pulling the $70 trigger on BF6. I've done research on the causes and "fixes" (though none of them are complete fixes) of the issues caused by Time Nudge, which I'll outline below. Cause: Time nudge, in most cases, appears to be introduced when the CPU can't keep up with the traffic from the server. Time nudge itself is a buffer that waits for the CPU to either process the packets sent by the server or re-sync with the tick speed of the server. This does not, however, mean more powerful CPUs don't have this issue and less powerful ones do - it seems to be almost random which devices have issues with time nudge and which don't: even some consoles have had issues with time nudge in Battlefield 2042. As for it being an internet, location, or router-related issue, I've eliminated those factors by: 1. Changing my ISP and router (for a different reason, but the issue persisted) 2. Using both Wi-Fi and Ethernet (it didn't matter) 3. Even though I live in a major server city, I took my computer traveling out east and still had no dice with fixing the issue on hotel Wi-Fi. The issue is often found in systems whose CPUs have high utilization or are throttling (as is expected), but I've run 2042 and the BF6 beta on 60% CPU utilization well under 80 degrees C with the issue persisting. Your system not getting enough airflow could be an issue causing Time Nudge spikes. From what I've seen, the issue appears both on Intel and AMD chips across multiple generations, including mobile and desktop chips, and across multiple motherboard models as well. It's likely a slight mismatch with something in certain specific CPUs and the Netcode that causes the issues to appear. The issue is not GPU-related: it persists on integrated graphics and both graphics cards I own, and changing graphics settings or turning on DLSS does not majorly affect how severe the issue is. This has been consistent throughout my research into the topic. Additionally, the games usually run with very high framerate and high GPU overhead even when the issue occurs. The issue could be RAM-related in some cases. Tweaking some RAM-related settings in BIOS can relieve some issues relating to Time Nudge. Solutions: The issue can be relieved partially for some devices by lowering the max framerate in the game settings below what it normally . This may give some overhead for the CPU to run network-related processes and Additionally, user-created .cfg files have been circulating that limit CPU usage for the game to only about half of what it would use otherwise. These haven't worked at all for me, but seem to have had some effect in other users' issues. Note that this fix -- pretty much universally -- has been said to not completely solve the issue, but rather alleviate it a bit. For those who have the option, enabling an XMP profile for RAM in your bios could alleviate the issue. Alternatively, adding more RAM to your system could eliminate any issues in the CPU failing to communicate with memory, and give the CPU enough overhead to perform other tasks. Resetting your BIOS or re-installing your OS or game is not a valid way of alleviating this issue, from my attempts at doing all three and anecdotal evidence from other threads. Something I read relating to Time Nudge that seems important to note: "It's an issue with no clear cause and no solution." Everybody's case will be different, and the issue is probably not solvable either on your end or EA's end. As far as I can tell, the only way to completely solve the issue would be to swap to a different CPU, including using a potentially older one. If you have a laptop or a system with a soldered-on CPU, getting a new device to play the game on may be your only option if the fixes I've listed and the ones in the comments don't work. If I missed any solutions (I definitely did), feel free to drop them in the comments. Conclusion: I'm writing this in part to get the attention of EA staff, of whom only one has responded to any time-nudge related thread before (2 years ago). This is an issue that is preventing a not insignificant amount of players from enjoying your game, and one that needs to be solved. This is not an issue for me in any Battlefield game other than 2042 and 6, and not in any other multiplayer game either. Edit 10/25/2025: Just gonna leave an update here - consensus among quite a few posts (here and elsewhere) has shown that if you're having Time Nudge issues on the 60hz servers, playing on the 30hz Community servers is an option. The 60hz servers are just more difficult for the CPU to juggle network traffic with, so a slower tick rate server should alleviate the issue a little. I've bought BF6 and will post the results of me trying those 30hz Community / Portal servers. Something about those servers to note: there has been community pushback against DICE for their decision to make those servers 30hz. While this is a reasonable criticism from a gameplay perspective, a switch to all-60hz servers could end a way for us experiencing this Time Nudge issue to play the game. Due to that community pushback, and assuming the TN issue isn't addressed in a near-future update, you can expect that method of playing the game to vanish after some time. Another thing to note for some users, especially with portable devices: changing power plan settings to not throttle (pick High Performance mode in "Choose a power plan" in Windows search) has had some effect in mitigating this issue with some users I've seen online, especially those with laptops or handheld devices. I will note, however, that altering this did not work for me in 2042 with my laptop.21KViews77likes129CommentsBattlefield 6 won’t launch – Secure Boot not enabled error
Hello, I have just purchased Battlefield 6 and I cannot even start the game because of the message: "SecureBoot is not enabled. Learn how to use SecureBoot at go.ea.com/SecureBoot." My PC meets or exceeds all the official system requirements, yet the game refuses to launch only because Secure Boot is not enabled or detected. Forcing players to change BIOS settings is unreasonable. Not every system supports Secure Boot, and enabling it can cause boot issues or require full system reinstallation. This is a major accessibility and compatibility issue. A modern PC game should not require players to alter low-level firmware settings just to launch. I request that EA: provides an alternative or compatibility mode for systems without Secure Boot, clearly communicates this hardware requirement before purchase, and offers refund options for affected players who cannot enable Secure Boot. I paid for a game that I cannot even start. Please treat this message as a formal complaint and forward it to the Battlefield 6 technical and management teams. Hello, After performing a clean reinstall of Windows 11 and graphics drivers, I’m unable to launch Battlefield 6 via Steam. When I click Play, the EA App opens briefly, a small black window appears, and then nothing happens — there’s no error message, no crash report, and the process simply terminates. Steps I’ve already taken: Performed a full DDU driver clean and reinstalled the latest NVIDIA Game Ready driver (581.42, RTX 4080). Verified game files in Steam. Repaired EA App integration (Steam → EA App handoff). Manually reinstalled EA Anti-Cheat via command prompt. Cleared DirectX shader cache and NVIDIA cache folders. Renamed the Documents\Battlefield 6 folder to regenerate configs. Forced DirectX 11 launch using the flag -RenderDevice.Dx11Enable 1. Launched both Steam and EA App as Administrator. Current behaviour: Game opens a small black box (window), then silently closes. No visible errors in the EA App or Steam. Nothing unusual logged in Event Viewer (just “Application Hang” with Battlefield6.exe).
