Hello, I previously had access to the digital artbook, and soundtrack included with my Battlefield 2042 Ultimate Edition purchase, but I can no longer access these bonuses. The official EA page that was used to claim this content now returns a 404 error: https://www.ea.com/games/battlefield/battlefield-2042/media/ultimate-edition-benefits This is concerning as these digital extras were part of the Ultimate Edition package I purchased. The inability to access content that was previously available is very frustrating. I request that EA either restore the functionality of the original link or provide an alternative method to access the digital artbook and soundtrack. Hello EA Community Team and fellow players, I am creating this post following a suggestion from EA Help support, as I am desperately seeking help regarding a false ban on my account. My Account Details: EA ID: MAX_Angelina EA Help Case Number: #221608365 The Situation: My account was banned on August 30, 2024, shortly after I played the Portal mode in Battlefield 2042. I have submitted two formal appeals through the official channel, but both were denied with a generic message stating I "engaged in cheating." Why I Believe This is a False Ban: I am confident that the ban was triggered by a misunderstanding. On the day of the ban, I was playing in a custom Portal mode server, primarily fighting against AI bots. During this session, I achieved a high number of kills (around 100-200). I believe the anti-cheat system may have flagged this legitimate gameplay against AI as suspicious activity. I want to emphasize that I have never used any cheat, hack, or unauthorized software. I have been a loyal fan of the Battlefield series for years and value fair play above all else. The idea of cheating is against everything I stand for as a player. What I've Done So Far: Appealed twice via the official dispute system. Spoke with a very helpful EA Help advisor named Manishka on September 12. She confirmed my details and escalated the case. The case status is now listed as "Waiting for Studio." I have been waiting patiently for over a week for an update from the studio team. I am now turning to the forum because I genuinely do not know what else to do. Having my account banned for simply enjoying the game as intended feels incredibly unfair. My Request: Could a Community Manager or someone from the DICE/EA team please take a look at my case (#221608365)? I am asking for a manual review of my game data, specifically focusing on my Portal mode session against AI on August 30. If I truly violated the rules, I would appreciate knowing the exact evidence. Why??? What is the point of this?? I can't count how many times I've waited in a lobby for the required number of players only to get bounced just as the match is starting!!!! Then to make it worse, I can't get back into that match and have to go through the whole **bleep** process all over again. Why have a timeout? Just let us wait. And if there finally becomes enough players, disable the timeout so we dont get bounced from the match and spend all GD day waiting in lobbies!! Spectator Mode and Kill Replay would make it easier to detect cheats. Players could easily record and provide evidence when reporting suspected users. We would be able to replay the video, play it on slower speed to check for unusual snapping/movement that imitate soft aimlocks. I have notice that blatant cheaters (100%) HS has gone down a lot, but there are a lot of high level players who are very suspicious, like getting as high as 140-10 K/D etc, and most games are like 70-5 K/D. I know its possible, but every close encounter against them you die in 1 sec. which make me think they might be using some sort of soft hacks. When I was playing recently, I suddenly thought of this weapon and found that the shaking of the scope was so severe that it made me feel physically uncomfortable. I also noticed that when I choose the official bot mode to play, the visual recoil of this weapon is much smaller. So is this the effect that DICE wants? At present, I think it is very inappropriate. So I spent the last 2 weeks building MAG's full Domination game mode, with a lot of polish, to the best I could given the constraints in Portal, for Battlefield 2042. Features: 64 v 64 2 Platoons each side 4 squads of 8 players in each platoon Squad Leaders, Platoon Leaders, and OIC/Commander Squad Leader, Platoon Leader, and Commander abilities proximity intel morale boost area intel vehicle boost rapid deploy blockade Unique bunker spawns for each defending squad Base spawns for each defending squad Outskirts spawns for each attacking squad Forward spawns for each attacking squad (including parachute drops) EMP (formerly known as AA), Sensor Array, and Vehicle Support Depot for each defending platoon Sequentially unlocked 1st pair ("burn off towers"), 2nd pair ("cool off towers"), and final base damage objectives for each platoon Full live-updated UI for objectives, cooldowns, leadership selection and demotions, spawn selection, squad cycling, and current objective progress A (hopefully) robust squad assignment queue/algorithm to try to ensure premade native BF squads end up in the same 8-person "MAG" squad Orbital is the first and only supported map Code (rule engine) is significantly functionally coded and modular that I can add new maps rather quickly Missing Features: Skill tree (obviously) Proper Squad/Platoon/Company Voice chat (need to rely on discord) Bunkers and EMP are control areas (stand on for 20 seconds) by anyone, not equipment that is repairable by specific repair tools (but you can regain control as defenders without alerting attackers, as intended by sneak repairmen) Sensor Array and Vehicle Support Depot are arm/disarm objectives, not equipment that is repairable by specific repair tools No "jamming" (yet, maybe...) No air assault or mortars as leader abilities No OIC cooldown refresh (yet, easy to add) No helicopters with gunners for attacker forward spawns No bunker turrets No funnelling of map to prevent attackers from sneaking around (however, the map and objectives are chosen and placed in a way to discourage straying from the platoon-on-platoon lane No spawn protection for some attacking spawn points (yet, I can fix this if it is a problem) Warning, I have tested this a lot on my own, but never with multiple players. While I am sure the logic will work, I am not sure if the server can support the load of 128 players with this custom logic. I am looking for people to play and test. I realize BF2042 is less than 1 month from being eclipsed by BF6, but better late than never. Plus, I plan on making this for BF6 too, but sadly it might be limited to 32v32. On a regular conquest server, the infantry per team number to 32 Each of these infantry if they are an engineer they can carry a shoulder mounted launcher and Sticky explosives or AT mines. Outside of the regular gadgets one of the specialists can shoot TV missiles while another can do a "hack" that can practically immobilize an armored vehicle or **bleep** an aircraft that comes too close. An honorable mention should also go to the anti materiel rifles and the Railgun rifle (someone in my platoon loves to snipe pilots out of stealth helis with it). Just these alone could do scary things in the ideal scenario where enough players actually focused fire with them on one vehicle at a time Depending on how seriously they take the anti vehicle role a vehicle will either thrive due to being ignored or will not be able to do anything other than trying to escape. ------------------ Now let us look at the vehicle spawn system. There are limited slots so you will not have for example 20 tanks per team. They also have a long respawn after they are gone. For some reason DICE decided to add an extra respawn penalty to try to prevent people from taking the same vehicle type after they lost the previous one. This has never been addressed by any official source and it is really annoying. Imagine having a period where you could not use Recon because someone just killed you when you were just playing Recon. I believe that more often than not there are too few available (worthwhile) vehicles for the amount of infantry that they may have to contend with. I do not think I got to have my fill of a good vehicle in 2042 due to how often they are taken, destroyed or how some random thread is cutting my run short and good luck getting the same vehicle again. The ground vehicles which have any sort of considerable protection from the outside are slow, have relatively narrow vertical turret angles and even after several improvements, their turrets still turn slowly, unlike those in BF3/4 Their acceleration leaves a lot to be desired. Especially when considering how many rockets they have to dodge and how easily they can get stuck on small bits of terrain. The ground vehicles often depend a lot on infantry to be their meatshields which is more or less the reverse of what a tank is for. The aircraft in general have having a better time the smaller they are because they are much harder to see from a large distance and are much more agile. Meanwhile the larger ones are often clumsy easy targets. The planes are fast enough that it is quite hard to make out and do anything on infantry and even when they do, their high caliber weapons are mostly just scratching the small meatbags on the ground. Any vehicles or vehicle weapons that were reasonably effective at hitting infantry with splash have gotten one or more nerfs. (the attack jets nerf on its HE rounds is the latest example) The helicopters are in a better state where they can still be strong vs a mostly lazy enemy team which is trying to ignore them so they can focus on the few diligent people who will try to them off with liz missiles etc with various levels of success. ---------------------- In general I am a player who has enjoyed and used vehicles a lot in previous titles. But in 2042 I have often felt that it was just not worth it to try to fight other for the vehicle slots only to have a minimal effect in the outcome of the round and having to wait a long time for a chance to get the next spawn of the vehicles I want. In Conclusion Vehicles in 2042 are mostly lousy and weak. I hope that DICE has learned some lessons about that and makes them significant (but not OP ofc) in BF6. But if engineers can carry both AT and AA launchers at the same time in BF6, I think that wont happen32Views1like0Comments1942 Weapon Scopes misalignment
I love using the M1 Garand in 2042, but the (2-4x?) scope appears to be misaligned to where the vertical reticle line extends up and past the center of the scope circle. I've noticed this for the other 1942 portal guns that use the same scope. It makes enemies hard to track and shots hard to follow-up because the lines of the scope are so thick and the bullets don't travel to the center of the scope, they instead travel to the misaligned tip of the vertical reticle line. I also noticed the skewed angle of the lower-magnification sights on 1942 portal weapons (1-1.5x) where the angle of the sight seems skewed and the circular reticle is also misaligned vertically in the sight. Console ' command change shortcut
Hello, would it be possible to change the shortcut to access the command line console? The ' key is too close to the TAB key and it's awful. By default, it's ', but instead of ' (apostrophus), it could be ´ (acute accent), or ~, or , or /, but not ', I prefer ´. My justification is that I always bump into the apostrophe and the acute accent is far from the other keys. Domination Mode is the most balanced and fun way to play Battlefield
I still don’t understand why Domination got removed. It was hands down one of the most fun and balanced ways to play Battlefield. No tanks rolling through with 80+ kills, no helicopters farming entire squads… just infantry vs. infantry, pure gunplay, and strategy. What made Domination so good: No vehicle spam – you didn’t have to worry about one player dominating the match with armor or air power. Close-quarters intensity – smaller areas made every firefight exciting and forced teams to actually coordinate. Skill-based gameplay – wins felt earned through aim, positioning, and teamwork, not who spawned the most powerful vehicle. Pure Battlefield combat – gunfights and objective control were the focus, which made matches competitive but also fair. I get that vehicles are a huge part of Battlefield’s DNA, but let’s be honest—vehicles get overused and abused in most modes, and it kills the balance. Domination stripped all that away and delivered some of the best infantry gameplay the series ever had. It feels like the community has been asking for more infantry-focused experiences, and Domination was already the perfect solution. Why take it away instead of promoting it more? Anyone else miss this mode as much as I do? Do you think DICE will ever bring it back—or should we keep pushing for it until they do? Another thing I think Battlefield needs more of is mid-size maps for Rush and Conquest that don’t rely on vehicles. Not every match has to be either massive open fields with tanks everywhere or tiny close-quarters shootouts. There’s a sweet spot in the middle where infantry combat shines, and it feels like the franchise rarely leans into it. On mid-size infantry-focused maps: -> Rush becomes tactical again – pushing or defending objectives feels more fair when players don’t have to deal with a tank sitting on the M-COM or a heli spawn camping. -> Conquest gets more competitive – squads can actually focus on capturing and holding zones through teamwork instead of who spawns the most armor. -> Map flow feels natural – the pacing is quicker than huge vehicle-dominated maps but not as chaotic as tiny CQC arenas. -> Skill decides outcomes – firefights, positioning, and squad play matter way more than who controls the vehicle spawns. This kind of design would give players who love infantry combat a reason to stick around without taking vehicles away from the players who want them on large-scale maps.
