[Suggestions] Improvements for the game
Let's use this thread to suggest some improvement that may make the game better. Here are mine: Graphics: - Changing weather : Rain, Snow, Fog, Sun... - More cars in the roads. - Citizens in the streets ! - Moving clouds shadows. - Birds, Fish... Animals ! - More buildings models. - Possibility to change the terrain we build our city on. Having different styles: Desert, Forest etc. If non coastal the port will be replaced by an airport with a cargo airplane or a train station. Gameplay: - Possibility to move the roads. It costs a lot to upgrade them, bulldoze isn't a good solution. - Possibility of pausing the game in order to move buildings. When I want to change the layout of the city, if I move temporarily a building in a place that isn't covered by services, the happiness of the citizens quickly drops. Pausing the game will allow us to have enough time to change the layout of the city without being preoccupied of the consequences of moving the buildings. - Ability to zoom out further. - Ability to plant some trees or add a lake just for fun, without incidences on the happiness of the citizens, just for the beauty of the city. - Ability to send a friend request when visiting a player's city. - Possibility to invite a friend to play the game via Facebook. - Leaderboards with the most populated city, the richest city... - Ability to giva a grade for the beauty of the cities and have a leaderboard. - Ability to buy directly from the Trade HQ without visiting the player's city. - Ability to start a new city from scratch. - Upgrading factories directly without the need to bulldoze them. - Same thing for parks and services. - Taxes don't provide enough money to support the growth of city and the need of the citizens. It costs a lot to build services. Same thing for the trade, it is not sufficient to make enough money. We need to have another source of income or may be you should increase the income from the taxes. If you have more suggestions, do not hesitate to post in this thread.Anonymous11 years ago34KViews53likes587CommentsUnable to complete daily tasks in COM

It appears that the rumors of deliberate sabotage by this game's designers is proving true. EA as a company, was bought out by a private Saudi/Muslim hedge fund, run by none other than their crown prince. With people likely to lose their jobs over this, it looks like this horrible, game/city ruining "Services 2.0" update is their revenge. And they've closed out their own discussions requesting feedback on this mess. They're even deleting any comments about it on their Twitter/X account to cover it up! This update has made the game unplayable. My own primary city (out of four) that I've worked on for 8+ years and had 4.7 million "residents" and with NO land left for anymore buildings, was practically destroyed with the new service requirements. Fully upgraded, it was still impossible for the current buildings to provide enough for the new requirements. And no space to build more. And that's precisely what the designers clearly wanted; to leave the game (and the company) in shambles for their new owner. Guess what, it worked! I've already deleted the game app off of my Ipad. I'm done with it and the idiots who screwed it up. And it appears that thousands of other players are doing the same. Stick a fork in Simcity BuildIt. This game is DONE. It was fun while it lasted.7nauhm4yhlta19 days agoSeasoned Traveler1.7KViews31likes13CommentsSerious Concerns About the 2.0 Update, Monetization, and Player Trust
Hello, I am a long-time SimCity BuildIt player, and I feel obligated to express serious concerns regarding the 2.0 update. Although I have not yet received this update, the growing volume of negative feedback from players is deeply troubling. Many reports indicate that years of accumulated progress, resources, and effort are being diminished or rendered meaningless. Players who have invested countless hours into this game now feel that their dedication is being disregarded. This situation unfortunately aligns with a broader pattern seen across EA titles, including PC games from other departments. Aggressive monetization strategies, updates that prioritize revenue over enjoyment, and a declining respect for player time have become increasingly noticeable. This creates the impression that long-term player loyalty is treated as a resource to be exploited rather than valued. It is also important to note that SimCity BuildIt is not without alternatives. EA is not operating in a vacuum. There are other city-building games on the market that offer enjoyable experiences with fairer systems and significantly lower financial pressure on players. If long-time users feel that their effort and progress are no longer respected, many will inevitably look elsewhere. For many of us, this game represents years of careful planning, patience, and commitment — not a short-term distraction. A single update should never place that investment at risk or undermine the trust built over such a long period. I strongly urge the development and management teams to reconsider the direction of the 2.0 update, to protect existing player progress, and to address the growing dissatisfaction within the community. Continuing down this path risks permanently damaging player trust and driving loyal users away. This message is written out of concern, not hostility. However, the frustration and disappointment among long-term players should be taken very seriously. I’m too overwhelmed to try to rebuild any of this. Most buildings are now red and hard to move with reboot needed every few minutes due to the pink and black freeze when touching area of capital city. Omega building cost omega tokens I don’t have and cant afford to buy. Even if I was rich, I can’t figure this nonesense out to fix it. I just paid for mayors pass. Wow! please do not ask me to submit pics and play with my IOS ipad function. This is You, not anything on my side. After a year of freezes every few minutes, spend some bucks to expand and Update your servers so we stop getting kicked off and have to reboot. I’m soooo disgusted with EA service and now this buzz killer is thrust upon us. SHAME!852Views28likes18CommentsEpic Project FAQ
These Epic Project FAQ are user compiled, if there's any mistakes please share your knowledge. Last updated: April 10th 2016. Q. How many points are required to achieve each level of epic project? A. bronze (turtle): 10 silver (llama): 80 gold (cheetah): 160 Q. How many speed-up tokens can you accumulate? A. You can only have at most 5 bronze (turtle), 5 silver (Llama), 5 gold (Cheetah) at any time. In order to collect more token parts from Epic Project buildings, you must first drop below 5 speed-up tokens of that type (ie spend the speed-up on a commercial building). Note: You can exceed the 5 limit if you win speed-up tokens (e.g, from League rewards) Q. How many buildings must you collect from to make a speed-up token? A. Initially 3 Turtle (bronze) building tokens = 1 Turtle speed-up token Initially 6 Llama (silver) building tokens = 1 Llama speed-up token Initially 9 Cheetah (gold) building tokens = 1 Cheetah speed-up token EDIT: since February(?) 2016, the number of token pieces required to make a speed-up token increases as you build more projects of that type. E.g, I have about 45 gold projects, and I require 19 gold token pieces to make 1 gold speed-up token. The maximum number of pieces required to make 1 speed-up token is capped at 20, depending on how many bronze/silver/gold projects you have (per type, not total) NOTE: If you haven't collected tokens for a while (1-2 days?), it will initially take 3/6/9 pieces to make 1 speed-up token. Q. How often can I collect a token from an epic project? A. New epic token parts become available 24 hours after you last collected a token part from the building, with one exception: when you complete an epic project, it will immediately give you a new token part, and then will give you another token part when the rest of the buildings (of the same type?) produce their next daily token. If a building has a token part available but you don't collect it, it will not accumulate token parts. If your token parts become available at noon on Monday but you don't collect them until 3pm, those buildings will next produce token parts at 3pm on Tuesday. All buildings of the same type seem to sync when they generate token parts, but different token types do NOT sync with each other automatically. However, it's possible to manually sync them by simply waiting on one set until the rest become available (I have done this for ease of collection). Q. Is there a limit to how many epic project buildings you can have? A. No limit Q. Which specializations can be used to create an epic project? A. Education, Transportation, Beach, Entertainment, Mountain, Gambling, Landmarks Q. How many different epic project designs are there? A. There were originally 24 unique designs, but that was recently increased to 60 in March 2016. There are 3 different colour schemes for each design. All designs and colour schemes are achievable regardless of whether you reach bronze/silver/gold status. Project images: see the screenshot below Q. What are the names of each epic project design? A. Each specialization has a set of building names. They do not match to a specific design or colour scheme. Q. After I complete a project, how long must I wait before I can start another project? A. If you finish a gold project early, the next project will become available after 12 hours from the time you finished. If you failed to reach gold project after the 24 hour timer expires, the next project will become available 12 hours after the timer has expired and you revealed the Epic Project building. Q. What sort of buildings can become Epic Projects? A. Only the regular residential buildings can become Epic Projects (not Parisian/London/Tokyo). Q. Do Epic Projects have higher population? A. Yes, Epic Project buildings can hold 31% more population (1836 -> 2411). Q. I don't like the task that's been assigned to the specialization building, can I request a new task? A. No, that task will remain there until you complete the task, or delete the building. Q. I have 12 specialization buildings, how come I only have 8 tasks? A. Only 8 tasks can be active at any one time. Once you complete a task, a new task bubble will appear above another specialization building. Q. What determines the specialization project that I can build? A. After a regular residential building is selected for an Epic Project upgrade, it will be assigned a specialization depending on which specializations are within range of that building. You can move that building within range of any other specialization and refresh the plans to change to a different design. If no other specializations are within range, you'll get the error message which is displayed in the image below. Since the March 2016 update, you can now move the epic project to a new building (prior to starting the project). If you use the bake sale perfectly for a whole week, you can accumulate a total of 30,086 seasonal currency. I used my seasonal currency only to purchase the 2 buildings required for the album for week 1 and week 2, and I have upgraded the Oktoberfest Fun Fair to Level 8. I have used the bake sale frequently. I have the Premium+ Mayors Pass. And I am still 40,000 points short of being able to upgrade the Fun Fair to Level 9 in order to complete the album. I think someone screwed up their math somewhere and either overpriced the levels for the Fun Fair, or didn't provide enough opportunities to accumulate Seasonal Currency. If I wanted to spend even more money, I'd have to spend at least $26 on straight purchases of Seasonal Currency just to complete this week's album. I call this a bug. I am writing to express my serious concern regarding the recent Services 2.0 update in . Since the update, cities that were previously stable are now facing major balance problems. Service buildings have become significantly more expensive, their coverage has been reduced, and many long-established cities are being forced into large-scale rebuilding just to maintain basic functionality. This has created unexpected challenges for players who have invested considerable time and effort into developing their cities. These changes have disrupted the balance and stability of existing cities and negatively affected the overall gameplay experience. I respectfully request that your team review and rebalance the Services 2.0 system, especially with consideration for cities built under the previous system. Resolving these issues is essential to maintaining game stability and preserving the trust and satisfaction of long-term players. Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to your response and to improvements in future updates. Sincerely, Utshab Debnathpvc4gto6veiq4 days agoSeasoned Newcomer647Views21likes6CommentsSignificant game lag. Cannot play.

The Egyptian hospital is apparently 7000 points. Each mission is 50, each full good milestone is 150. It takes 140 missions to score 7000 points, 116 if you’re lucky enough to get 8 good milestones. The residences milestones is only 10 per section (30 total vs 150) EA has made the game pay to complete event tracks which is unfair. Every aspect of the game should be possible without paying. Paying should allow the player to finish faster that’s all.29pqrnu6b99d8 months agoSeasoned Hotshot1KViews21likes19CommentsGlobal Trade HQ building unavailable

Full of madness! 3. Seasonal Currency - Inthe last Cairo mayor pass, we already told to remove the seasonal currency, because its already became useless and taking the game away from the main idea, but this time you developers came up with 2 seasonal currencies! Just a general question - I am going to avoid criticizing the fact a season is being wasted on a so called holiday that is just 2 weeks away. WHY IS IT SO HARD TO REMOVE SEASONAL CURRENCY. THE MAJORITY OF US ARE TIRED OF THIS.f2aj5m0efycy4 months agoSeasoned Ace606Views19likes13CommentsInstead of building my city, I'm forced to tear part of it down repeatedly
Of all the recent changes that have me questioning whether or not I want to continue playing a game that I've played for almost a decade, there is one that stands out as a clear sign that either changes are not being tested or the results of the testing are being ignored in favor of a shameless money grab. It's not the global market, despite its utility becoming virtually zero this season. It's not the endless repetition of tasks, although my cargo ships have never been busier than in completing the Chicago missions. It's not even that a game that could be played casually to earn worthwhile rewards is being replaced with one that requires almost nonstop play, even with the Premium pass, to earn those rewards. I'm pretty sure that every SimCity Buildit player who has invested any serious time in the game has done so because they enjoy the process of creating their city. Whether it's simply cramming as many people into their cities as they can, tailoring their cities' appearance, or getting the next cool reward to add, we play a city building game because we want to build our city. If I can earn enough weekly points to get the Pride House, I'll have enough snowflake tokens to purchase the Riverwalk. But I'm out of Weekly Assignments, almost out of Bonus Assignments, and there aren't enough Daily Assignments left to get me the 1500 points I need for this final reward. Which leaves me with only one frustrating and repetitive option. If I want the Riverwalk, and any chance to get the Gothic Tower, I can only get the necessary points by endlessly tearing down and rebuilding my homes. What sense does that make? I'm accomplishing nothing worthwhile beyond the accumulation of points. Rather than building my city, I'm forced to tear part of it down over and over again. Sure, I'll get the reward in the end, but after the Egyptian Hospital and the Pride House, I'm resigned to the likelihood that the next reward will be more of the same. The game is becoming less fun and more work. I'll keep playing if I'm having fun. I'll even pay for the Premium pass as long as it's cheap enough and it enhances my play experience. I won't keep playing if the work outpaces the fun, and I certainly won't pay for that experience. I know I'm not alone in this. The Basics You place residence units and upgrade them by using resources that can be created at your factories or stores. Each item has an amount of time it takes to get ready. When you upgrade a residence, you earn XP, Simoleons (see below) and population. Your screen contain information like level, population, warehouse current and maximum capacity and approval rate. This is all in the top left corner. Below this you have the social and preferences buttons. In your top right corner, you have your currencies information (see below). You the right middle-bottom side, you have the building options: streets, residences, commercials, factories and specializations. The red exclamation mark on the street or specialization icon means that something is wrong, like some of your street has heavy traffic and needs to be upgraded, or something basic infrastructure is failing (i.e. lack of water). http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t16/czeuch/img1_zpse9e4d325.png The 2 ways street is free and I recommend making a layout like a street, then space for 2 rows of houses and another street. The main reason is that you will enable bigger buildings later on that will not fit if you go for street, house, street. Believe me, street, house, house, street is better. Only make sure to have some cross streets in order to avoid heavy traffic. http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t16/czeuch/img2_zps27b5a4fd.png Currencies Simoleons: ingame money which can be used to buy stores, upgrade your factories, buy infrastructure buildings, etc. It can be earned by upgrading buildings, selling goods at the Global Trade HQ, doing Naval missions, collecting taxes or spending Simcash. Simcash: special and limited cash that can be used to speed up production, increase store slots, open warehouse or expansion slots, etc. You start with a small ammount and you can get more by getting Achievements or spending real money. IMPORTANT: do not spend Simcash on anything other than increasing store slots. It's really not worth it spending it in other things unless you're willing to pay real money. Golden Keys: these can be obtained by completing Naval missions or by reconstructing your buildings after using Doctor Vu's disasters. These keys can be used to build Specialization buildings like Education, Transportation, Leisure, Gaming and Monuments. Collectibles You will notice some balloons over some buildings. This is usually a comment from your citizens about something from your city. Clicking on them have a chance of rewarding you with a collectible. My recommendation is that you never sell Land or Vu's collectibles, and start selling Warehouse ones after you reach 110 to 120 capacity. The main reason behind this is because at that point, you will need 9 to 10 items of each. This would reduce drastically the quantity of productive goods that you can store in your warehouse since around 20+ items will be about Warehouse collectibles. / There are 9 kinds of collectible, for 3 different uses: Warehouse Maximum Capacity Increase: to increase you warehouse's cap by 10 slots, you need Cameras, Locks and Grates. You need at first one of each to upgrade, and it increments by 1 for each time you upgrade it (2 of each for the second upgrade, 3 of each for the third, etc). Land Expansion: for that, you need tractor's Exhaust Pipe, Wheel and Shovel. Each extra land has a specific cost, which can vary from 1 of each to 10 of each. Doctor Vu's Items: to release a disaster, you will need to give Doctor Vu a Lightning Glove, Battery and Remote Controller. The cost of each disaster is random. It can be 2 Gloves and a Battery, or 4 Remote Controllers, or one of each. Walkthrough It looks like you start with a lot of Simoleons, however try not to spend it too fast. You will run out of it quite fast. Some infrastructure buildings will unlock at certain levels. Once they unlock, your citizens will start complaining about not having that specific things (i.e.Sewer Treatment, Garbage Management, Police, etc) and they will abandon your city if you don't give them what they want. My tip here is: DON'T WORRY. You'll NEVER have enough money to do everything on time if you don't spend REAL money. So you'll have to go one step at a time. Having bad approval rate and abandoned buildings for a while is not too bad, since this will only reduce a little of your tax income, which only comes every 24h (or spread during a day if you access the game often). I suggest stop placing new residences when you unlock something new that will make your citizen leave. Start focusing on saving money until you are able to buy the best option for that category. You can find below a table with the cost x benefit of each category. This is a sacrifice at the beginning but you will save money in the long run as you will not need to spend money with this kind of stuff all the time. http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t16/czeuch/img1_zpsc6c39619.png After the basic infrastructure stuff are enabled (the last one to enable is Health), you can focus on finishing providing everything that is missing and then start expanding your city horizontally, placing new residences. I do recommend that you find a way to fit the Port and Doctor's Vu tower in this process. The Specialization buildings are the ones that will make your city really grow in terms of population. In terms of Specialization, this is what I suggest you to do: 1 - Place the Department of Education (40K Simoleons); 2 - Farm Golden Keys until you have 47 of them so you can place the Library, High School, College and University. This will cover your whole city with Education and will unlock the Fusion Plant (which you'll need later on); 3 - Farm money to place the Department of Transportation (50k Simoleons); 4 - Farm 30 to 34 Golden Keys so you can place the Heliport and the Bus Station or Balloon Park; 5 - Farm 60k Simoleons to place the Leisure HQ; 6 - Farm 38+ Golden Keys to place 2 Leisure buildings, one of them being the Giant Wheel; 7 - Farm 70k Simoleons to place the Gaming HQ; 8 - Farm 22 Golden Keys to place both Luxury Cassinos; 9 - Lastly, farm 80k for the Department of Culture; 10 - Get 60 Golden Keys for the Washington Momument and the Empire State Building. With this, get prepared to turn your city into a metropolis! Offerings Sometimes balloons with coins will appear over buildings. This means some NPC company or organization wants to buy something for you. They will show you which product they want, the quantity they want, the quantity you have in stock and the price they are paying for all products. In some occasions, it may happen that they will offer you much more than the market value. In this case, I recommend clicking outside the popup (DON'T CLICK ON ANY BUTTON) so you can maintain the offer active. Start producing that product and sell it when you have the necessary quantity. This will improve your economy in a very interesting way. Doctor Vu It works quite simply: give Vu the items he requires for the disaster. Some buildings (1-5) will be destroyed. The game will ask you for requirements to rebuild it, very similar to an upgrade. However instead of money, XP and population, you earn 1 to 3 golden keys. After all buildings are rebuilt you can call upon another disaster. Some people question if it's really worth to unlock/use it. the answer is that using his disasters is mandatory if you want to have a city with high population and specializations. the ship only gives you one key with an interval of at least 6 hours. The disasters can give you 1 to 12 keys and you can get them in less than 6 hours I've farmed around 150 keys with Vu and this helped me cover my whole city with all specializations but landmarks. I'm still missing those. However it may happen in very rare cases that one of the buildings that you will need to rebuild needs ridiculous requirements. I'll mention 2 bad cases and a nearly bad one: - Warehouse is at 110 storage: game asks for 48 nails and 48 wood (96 items) - Warehouse at 180: games asks for 156 - Warehouse at 140: game asks for 64 - Impossible requests: use ingame support feature and EA will fix the disaster. What to do in such a situation? The first and last cases from the list above are mine. I'll now explain how you can solve this problem. - Focus on finishing all upgrades that you started - Don't start new ones - Stop production - Farm the HQ Global Tarde for expansion items in order to upgrade your storage and land. This way you will get rid of these items hence saving space - Sell anything you don't need - Ask your friends to hold some stuff for you. Basically you sell something to you friend and you buy it back after your rebuild is done. These are only a few way. There should be others too.
