EA connection timing out on Apex

This has been a little bit of an issue for me since the middle of season 6 but it’s gotten worse and to the point where the game is unplayable for me on my PS4. But I run into issues with queuing into ranked after playing 1 or 2 games. The game will then not allow me to play ranked (it will block out and say it requires level 10 to play ranked even though I’m max level). To try and fix this I’ve tried things that haven’t worked like: queuing into regular lobbies for a couple of games, switching legends, just waiting, etc... So then when I go to the main menu or restart the app, I will then be “unable to connect to EA servers”. I’ve found no way around this. I’ve tried restarting my PS4, restarting my router, switching to wifi instead of LAN, reinstalling the game, and I cannot get past the “unable to connect to EA Servers” note on the main menu. The only way I can play Apex again once this happens is to shut down my PS4 and wait about 4 hours and then I can play again. My PlayStation bought new less than a year ago and has had no other issues with games. So the only thing I can think of is something with my EA profile being corrupt. Any insight would be great.

    Hi @Captain-co_jack

Let's try out some troubleshooting to see if we can help with the issues you've been seeing. A good place to start off would be with the basic connectivity steps over at the EA Help website. If you're still running into the same issues after that check out the PlayStation-specific steps as well.

Let me know how that goes once you've had the chance to give it a shot. Thanks!

  • I tried playing with two friends a couple night ago and I was running into the same issue with disconnections. It’s similar to the issues I mentioned before where I will be unable to ready up into ranked and when I try to restart the game I’m then unable to connect. I can work around this a little by switching legends while in the lobby. But like I mentioned before, once I’m stuck on “unable to connect to ea servers” the only way I can play the game again is to restart my router entirely. This isn’t an internet issue as I was still able to connect to internet/party chat/and warzone with my friends with a fast LAN connection. A couple of nights when I was playing in a full party of friends, my game would freeze or bug out after each of the three games of winter express we played. After each game it would freeze in the lobby and I tried to restart the app, I would then get stuck on the main menu being unable to connect to servers. Again my only way around it was to restart my router. After my game crashed the 3rd time after my 3rd game with friends, I quit the game out of frustration. The issue has to be something involving a corrupted file. As I mentioned before I’ve already tried reinstalling the app. Please help.
