Integrity error 0x8000002

Hello,

I'm experiencing an issue where I can no longer launch Apex Legends after the update that occurred around late March. When I try to start the game, a pop-up appears, and the game fails to launch.

I want to assure you that I haven't installed any software that could be associated with cheating.

My platform is Steam.

I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps without success:

  • Verified the integrity of game files.
  • Reinstalled the game.
  • Stopped all background software.
  • Temporarily disabled my security software.

I would be very grateful if anyone knows how to resolve this error. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

  • Digue_MoonB  This error indicates that the game had detected a program that cannot be running while Apex is, (such as reWASD, DS4Windows, and other similar programs).

If you had stopped all other programs from running on the PC, (and haven't installed any programs, (such as the ones mentioned above)), you may have to reinstall Windows, (which had worked for another player, as mentioned here).

Note: Since the attached screenshot is in Japanese, the reinstall Windows link is also in Japanese. (For English, click here).

Thank you for your assistance with this issue.

I followed your suggestion and searched my drives for software like reWASD and DS4Windows, but I didn't find any of those programs installed.

I also reviewed the information from the link you provided, but unfortunately, I didn't recognize any of the listed software on my system.
As a last resort, I am now going to try reinstalling Windows 11 to see if that resolves the problem.

Thank you again for your help.
