"Loading and Compiling Shaders" every single time I run the game

Every single time I open the game it has to "load and compile shaders". This takes about 5 minutes and happens every single time I open the game.

In season 9 it just gave me a black loading screen for 5 minutes every time I tried to connect, now it tells me it has to load and compile shaders. This is taking way too long to open, not worth it.

I dunno if you tried this yet but it worked for me. If you have an Nvidia GPU -

    1. Install LATEST drivers for GPU

    2. Open Nvidia Control Panel - 3d Options - turn shader cache OFF, click apply

    3. Turn shader cache BACK ON, click apply

    4. Restart cpu - run apex, let it compile the shaders one last time.

I did that and haven't had any problems at all - the game runs better than ever before, I couldn't believe it was a driver issue.

Yea i've done these steps like 10 times now, since 2 days ago, it fixes it temporarily then randomly boom back to the same screen. Honestly does my head in

  • I've tried updating GPU drivers, turning off the Shader cache and re-enabling it, rebooting afterwards, and now the lobby loading and CPU to 100% loading screen issue has returned along with being stuck on 6814/6814 shaders at the loading screen.

I also just recently installed a new 1 TB SSD with a brand new Steam library folder and install for the game with no success.  This has been just a disaster since Season 9 - good thing I was able to buy Seer, the new Seer Store pack, and the premium battle pass for the issues to start happening again.

    sorry for my english xd

There was the same problem, no advice, neither from the Russian forum, nor from the English-speaking forum, nor from Reddit helped. Only the good old reinstallation of Windows helped. Perhaps the problem is precisely in the nvidia drivers, although the problem does not only exist on nvidia video cards or PCs. I saw a post on the nvidia forum from their representative that they are sort of investigating this topic. But how true this is, and how soon they will solve this problem, is unknown.

  • Hello Respawn,
I have an issue with shaders everytime I run Apex Legends. I've tried the common fix - to simply check my Nvidia options turn On/Off Shaders - but that did not work for me.
    I opened a ticket #14026303401c3111.
Is there anything that can be done from my side to fix the issue or I will have to await for the next update ?

As it seems, there are other players who are reporting the same issue, so it's not isolated / one time 'bug'.

I would be more than grateful if you check my request.

    Thank you in advance!

  • After the last update yesterday, i am now getting this issue. It wasn't there before. I have tried all the tips, deleting cache, installing latest drivers etc. I am no repairing the game, in hope tha will work.

Today the counter didn't even count up, it was already at max, but the numbers behind in the paranthesis were changing. No progress in the game though.

Hate to say it or very happy to say it, but repair fixed my problem for now. hopefully it won't be back.
