Ranked split didn't demote

EA_cuervo​ The same thing happened to me as well, and I've even played a few matches and I'm still in plat.

The link you posted is typical EA bla bla bla. How it (does not)work in reality is totally another story.

I got as high as D2, barely not D1 last slip, also finished rumbles in 2nd tier most of the time, sometimes 3rd tier (if I followed correctly which I did not as I could not care less about that). -> got demoted to P2, got out of it to D4 (few points off literary) in like 2 days -> started facing smurfs, hackers, Masters/Preds (like they would be different category than hackers) and now hardstuck for a while with basically 0 chances of getting higher than top5 in those lobbies.

So if above said would be true -> either I would need to be demoted to say D4 and start where I am now or have harder time in Plat (or lower) lobbies which I did not.

Basically reality in practice is the same as before, only before I would go down 1.5 tiers instead of ~1 => face a lot more Gold players in first hours / day of the new split making their lives really hard and have my typical 5+ KP games without even trying in those lobbies. AKA EA did shield Gold and lower from me for now before throwing them into Pred lobbies later :D

I would assume seeing what is happening for past 3 seasons including one that made me quit for ~3 months - EA / Respawn is desperately trying to keep:
1. Preds and TTVs happy to generate content / buzz and keep fanboys in game
2. make it somewhat easy to get to Diamonds to basically anyone with more than 1 brain cell = keeping cosmetics fanboys in game
3. do nothing regarding smurfs to keep "active player numbers" high not to show crazy fall in reports

Because if they would sort out matchmaking and actually do what they say:
1. ranked would become crazy grind as in Valorant -> most current "Diamonds" that were boosted in this rank would quit it because they would go back to Gold/Plat aka average or below, nothing special
2. Preds/TTVs would face eachother and get "stuck" in long queues = lack of content
3. people on C level would ask too many questions regarding player base :)
