- Mod store is just buying lotto tickets. Expect rare lavish results with the majority a net loss.
- Quick question, what colors do I buy? Like let’s say it’s a speed primary arrow with good secondaries, but it’s a blue. Do I still buy it? (Know I don’t have access to mod slicing yet)
- The only thing remotely worth buying at your level is a 5-dot arrow with a speed primary.
Honestly though, you are better off farming mods. They are actually a decent source of extra xp and credits at your level.
Keep all arrows with speed primaries. Sell anything else lower than 5-dot (possible exception for 4-dots with great stats), all other greys and any greens which do not have a speed secondary.
Upgrade blues, purples and golds in 3 level increment and sell any which do not have speed or an awesome stat combo. "Sithlord1230;c-1916807" wrote:

So, there are a few mods that are SUPER worth it, but those are only triangles and crosses.
DO NOT BUY anything except triangles and crosses.
Even among ▲ and + DO NOT BUY anything unless
1. The Primary matches the Set Bonus
2. The Primary is Offense (either ▲ or +), Crit Damage (▲), Tenacity (+), or Potency (+)
3. ===>subsidiary rule, do not buy Tenacity (+) or Potency (+) unless you're doing really well on funds right then, they're not nearly as important as the Offense and Crit Damage mods
4. It shows a Speed Secondary
5. It doesn't show any Defense secondaries
That last rule isn't that important in the grand scheme. If your speed secondary only grants you +3 total, you really don't care that much if the extra went into health or protection or defense. But what it does do is it reduces your spending even more.
The point of all this is that it really, really isn't worth it to try to build a mod collection at your point in the game. HOWEVER, there are some mods so rare and so perfect that it's actually worth it to sacrifice a few million credits (or ship credits) even when you really need them for other things, because you just can't ever have enough of them, much less too many.
Some of these won't pan out. Sometimes the speed secondary won't increase or what have you. But that day when you end up with a character who needs potency and you drop a Potency Mod with Potency Primary and +19-23 speed on it, you know that those millions you spent were worth it. Self-healing Counter-Attackers like Dooku, Aayla, and Enfys Nest benefit hugely from Tenacity Mods with Tenacity primaries ... and you have to find a lot of them before you get 3 of them with +20 speed. But when you have an Enfys Nest with 3 tenacity sets, a tenacity primary, and +130 speed, you'll be over the moon. That character can solo whole squads by herself. Put her under a Farmboy Luke lead (since he's completely useless for anything else) and the Tenacity spikes even higher. Add master's training from Hermit Yoda (which lasts the whole battle and can't be prevented, suppressed, or dispelled) and the Tenacity spikes even higher. Now you've got an unstoppable weapon ... but without Tenacity/Tenacity mods with good speed, you've got nothing.
So **strongly** limit what you're willing to buy. If you find yourself spending more than 1/3rd of your cash on Mods you're probably not limiting yourself enough. Then follow your rules religiously, only buying the absolute best mods, the ones you'll never regret owning.
That's how you use the Mod store. Even in the end game, you don't buy mediocre mods. You wait for the perfect ones, or in rare cases one you just really, really need right now. Nothing else. The mod store sucks up all your cash for very little return otherwise.
...but if you're careful, if you've got your rules and you stick to them, you'll pick up only the perfect mods, and 1 out of 64 of them will be an absolute God Mod, making you a terror to behold.
I didn’t miss it, and I can’t thank you enough for it. All the information you give helps so much. Again, thank you.
Take it with a grain of salt, though. Most of what was said there is bogus, except for the speed secondary part. 1 out of 64 god mod claim is particularly laughable.- Unless you are a spender, I wouldn't even look at it until you have strong squads running in both arenas. Currency is slow and teams are expensive. Mods make or break a team but 150 shards a day buys a lot of mods and upgrades. Once you get a surplus of currency income to work with, then start looking.
Keep in mind you can drop 3 million or more on a mod with a +5 base speed and it turn out to be utter junk thanks to the RNG gods. - thedrjojo6 years agoSeasoned Ace

Yes, buy it. Early game I even bought grey 5dot speed arrows. You want one on every character - MasterSeedy6 years agoSeasoned Aceyeah, the color doesn't matter as long as it has a speed secondary showing.
In fact, for a good bit of time earlier in the game it will be easier to come by slicing materials than it will a couple extra million credits. During that period, you'll actually feel like you scored extra well when you pick up a green 5-dot for 2.5 mill instead of finding a gold for 3.9mill.
Of course things will change over the course of the game, and there will come a day when you're happy to pay an extra 1.4M to bypass the need for slicing mats, but the OP is a long way from that. - MasterSeedy6 years agoSeasoned Ace@EventineElessedil
Most of what was said there is bogus, except for the speed secondary part. 1 out of 64 god mod claim is particularly laughable.
Remember that we were starting out with a desirable set bonus/primary combo and a speed secondary showing.
There's a 1-in-4 chance that each secondary upgrade will be to speed.
1/4 * 1/4 * 1/4 = 1/64.
So for 1 in 64 of these good mods with speed secondaries, all 3 of the first 3 upgrades will go to speed. That's a minimum of +15 speed and max +21 speed on a good set/primary combo mod... and you still have one upgrade to go, which might hit speed again or might hit another desirable quality (though, yeah, it could also hit defense).
Maybe you wouldn't call a Purple Offense cross with Offense primary and +17 speed a god mod, but I think that's an amazingly good mod and would happily take it any day, whatever you want to call it. - I went through a phase of thinking the mod store was the best place to get mods, I never use it anymore though, farming and spending credits on slicing has reaped far greater rewards for me. Nothing worse than spending 5 mil credits on a mod in the mod store because it has a 5 speed etc and then it rolls nothing but defence. If you have endless credits then sure keep your eye on the store, I prefer spending the credits on slicing etc though
- Is there any point holding onto mod's that only sell for 9500 credits? I have loads of these, and never bother putting them on. Just assume the ones which are worth 97.5K are best.
