unremoveable lot traits infuriate me.
"Unleash your imagination and create a world of Sims that's wholly unique. Explore and customize every detail from Sims to homes - and much more. Choose how Sims look, act and dress. Determine how they'll live out each day. Design and build incredible homes for every family, then decorate with your favorite furnishings and décor. Travel to different neighborhoods where you can meet other Sims and learn about their lives. Discover beautiful locations with distinctive environments, and go on spontaneous adventures. Manage the ups and downs of Sims' everyday lives, and see what happens when you play out realistic or fantastical scenarios. Tell your stories your way while developing relationships, pursuing careers and life aspirations, and immersing yourself in an extraordinary game where the possibilities are endless"
that is the sims 4 description on the EA app, stating that in the game 'the possibilities are endless' and that you can 'customise every detail' but ive found that it isnt really true because the 'possibilities are endless' until it comes to historical plaques.
i have hundreds of hours logged on playing the sims 4, i have decorated many houses, ive made many families and i have played through many, many stories and events... but there is one thing that i do not understand; as a game that is marketed, created and known for its ability of creativity and personalisation: the creators adding- in this cases example- forced traits to lots THAT CANNOT BE REMOVED WITH ANY BASIC METHOD and the traits coming along with items such as leaky pipes, mice holes, the historical plaque etc... that also cannot be deleted or even moved around to a different position on the lot, is so frustraiting because it goes against the above description of the game.
in my experiences after playing the game and looking around at sources online, the only ways that i have found to remove them is if you install custom mods/custom content where, even though it doesnt remove the trait itself, it can remove the items within the lot: or if you dont pay rent on your lot and your items get repossessed, that the items that cause the problems can be taken. but a game about 'customising every detail' shouldnt have these as the only options, and this is the reason it is so infuriating BECAUSE IT SHOULDNT HAVE TO BE DONE just to remove an item that you didnt put there to begin with.
a lot of people will agree with me (i hope) but i know that some people may not, and that is entirely fine.
i just wish that additions like this were a choice, not a forced obligation you have to tolerate or decorate around just because you want to build on a certain lot.
in the future of my gameplay i will continue to be removing items like this with mods (as it is something that i am capable of doing) but i really do hope that the points in this post are acknowledged and understood by developers- of either the sims or even devs of other games- as too why this can severaly impact someones game play (especially if they do not have access to custom content or a community to help fix it)
