Self-Discovery system
What is Self-Discovery system? It's a system which add new personality traits to young adult and older sims. Young adult and older sims can have a maximum of 6 personality traits. If self-discovery moments come to younger sims or pets, decline them.
Most of the self-discovery moments come from Growing Together. A few special cases won't require the pack.
Each trait is put in one of the categories which the game tracks. Some categories categories have maximum and minimum values while others only have a maximum value. Once a certain threshold is met, the game will either:
- Suggest your sim a random trait from the category.
- If one of sim's traits is in the category but in the opposite value, a trait replacement is suggested.
- If sim already has a trait from the category and in the same value, nothing happens.
Sims can have up to three self-discovery moments in their life. Declining a trait suggestion won't count towards the limit. Using a Re-Traiting potion will remove the extra traits (unclear if it resets the counter though).
Here is each category. Under each category I'll show what traits are associated with it and include additional posts on the message and interaction that help towards it. If it's a category with minimum and maximum values, I will use + and - symbols to indicate it (+ can replace - and vice versa).

Social
Seems to track how much your sim socializes with other sims and how many social interactions succeed. I guess the amount of sims they socialize with is also taken into account...
This is a min/max value category, including these traits:
- Outgoing +
- Bro +
- Insider +
- Nosy + (May not replace the - traits)
- Loner -
- Socially Awkward -

Outgoing
[Sim Name] has been a social butterfly recently! It feels great being Outgoing and socializing with other Sims.
When replacing Loner trait:
[Sim Name] has been social lately. It's a bit scary but also exciting to be more Outgoing. Is it time to step out of the comfort of their Loner solitude?
When replacing Socially Awkward trait:
[Sim Name] has found their social place and things are much less Socially Awkward! Being Outgoing with friends is starting to come easier for them.
Bro
[Sim Name] has been feeling like a social Bro lately. It would be nice to sit down and watch sports with other Bro Sims.
When replacing Loner trait:
[Sim Name] has been socializing more lately. Could they be shedding their Loner cocoon and transforming into a confident Bro?
When replacing Socially Awkward trait:
[Sim Name] is used to Socially Awkward situations but amongst other Bros maybe they'll find their social place.
Insider
[Sim Name] is starting to make some great social connections! [Sim Name]'s becoming a true Insider in the social network.
When replacing Loner trait:
[Sim Name] has been growing their social network lately, going from a reclusive Loner to a socialite Insider.
When replacing Socially Awkward trait:
[Sim Name] is becoming more of a social Insider and isn't struggling with Socially Awkward situations as much these days.
Nosy
[Sim Name] seems to make just about everything their business, could they be a Nosy Sim? Makes sense, [Sim Name] is the main character after all (according to them).
When replacing Loner trait:
[Sim Name] has been butting into other Sim's affairs lately, going from a reclusive Loner to a unapologetic Nosy Sim.
When replacing Socially Awkward trait:
[Sim Name] is becoming more of a Nosy Sim and doesn't care about being Socially Awkward anymore.
Loner
[Sim Name] hasn't been able to connect socially with people lately. Does that make them more of a Loner?
When replacing Outgoing trait:
[Sim Name]'s had a lot of failed social interactions or alone time recently. Being Outgoing is draining and [Sim Name] is starting to prefer the Loner solitude
When replacing Bro trait:
[Sim Name] has had a lot of failed social interactions or alone time recently. [Sim Name] is starting to prefer the Loner solitude over Bro hugs.
When replacing Insider trait:
[Sim Name]'s had a lot of failed social interactions or alone time recently. [Sim Name] is starting to prefer the Loner solitude over the social Insider crowds.
Socially Awkward
[Sim Name] has been feeling Socially Awkward and lonely lately. Social situations just don't appear to be their thing.
When replacing Outgoing trait:
[Sim Name] hasn't felt very Outgoing lately. Things have been Socially Awkward with failed interactions or has had a lot of alone time recently.
When replacing Bro trait:
[Sim Name] isn't feeling the Bro love these days. Things have been Socially Awkward with failed interactions or has had a lot of alone time recently.
When replacing Insider trait:
[Sim Name] might not be a social Insider anymore. Things have been Socially Awkward with failed interactions or has had a lot of alone time recently.
