Suggestion - Answer HQ Veterans
Hello everyone, I recently joined this new platform "EA Forums" after being an active member of Answers HQ for the past ten years. I’d like to suggest a few positive enhancements for the dedicated veterans of EA and Answers HQ. I strongly believe that Answers HQ veterans who transition to the new platform should have their "stats" transferred, specifically their badges and experience points (XP). Many members have dedicated over a decade to contributing to the community, and it would be a meaningful gesture to acknowledge their efforts by transferring their XP and badges to the new platform. Additionally, I propose creating a special badge for veterans of Answers HQ to recognize their long-standing commitment. This would be a small token of appreciation that would resonate with every single one of us. I truly hope that this suggestion is taken into consideration by the hardworking team at EA.Thank you in advance! Becoming a hero
So...I guess some of you guys know, I have multiple disabilities. Apparently this is because of something that happened to me when I was an infant, we discovered, that caused all of these ill effects in my life. So I have quite a bit of executive dysfunction that goes along with various disabilities, and the smallest things can be insurmountable and so, so stressful - and stress can exacerbate my disabilities so, that's not good. In any case. I read about how to be a hero, on the forums. I would love a personal profile picture, as everyone would! But honestly I do not have the ability mentally or emotionally to do what it takes to be a hero. In any sense, in real life or on the forums. Tbh I'm crying a bit lol. It really has highlighted my deficits. I'm not saying that the system should be changed for me. But I do think that maybe there are others with similar issues, and it's an accessibility issue. Because with certain disabilities, we do not have the ability to do the thing, we do not have access to the thing. So maybe certain things could be thought of in different terms as far as what can be available for everyone. I didn't really know where to post this. Forum Feedback on seeing replies
This is a copy and paste from MasterSeedy post in Swgoh discussions and thought I would post it here for better visibility as I agree with everything said there "This is, in part, just a function of how navigation works in general on these forums, but I thought the people still working on the forum programming should take note of the fact that when I get an alert that someone has replied to a discussion in which I've taken part, that's not inherently bad. But if I click on that notification, I expect to be taken to the new replies. Instead, the person clicking is taking to the default page for that discussion which, if popular, won't include any of the most recent replies. And if you scroll tot he bottom and click on "more replies," the interface does add new replies --- but in the process of adding them, it automatically scrolls you right back up to the top again. Nor is there a button for revealing ALL replies. instead you scroll to the bottom, click more replies, get autoscrolled to the top, scroll back down to the bottom, click more replies again, and get returned to the top again, repeating several times for longer discussions. This is tedious and is exactly the opposite of what people reading a forum want. You hit more replies to see the new stuff, not to be shoved back into the heart of the old stuff. And you hit the notification button to go to the thread in the first place to see the new stuff, not the old stuff. Both the notification button and the "more replies" button should reveal all the newest replies, and take your browser to those new replies automatically. The entire point of hiding replies is to make navigation easier, but with this set up it does not. I would rather have to scroll past hundreds of messages once than scroll past the first 20, then return to the top, then scroll past the first 40, then return to the top, and so on. Eventually I'm going to have to scroll past all those hundreds of messages to get to the new ones anyway. The current interface just makes it so that I have to do so over and over and over again. Targeted links from your notification page, a "reveal all replies" button, and the ability to maintain one's place on the page while revealing new replies are all necessary here. Pagination rather than hiding replies would also be much preferable to the current system, though with the other 3 options implemented pagination could be considered optional. New forum log in badges not unlocking
I have logged in to the new forums quite a few times but for some reason the forums must not be recognizing my log ins. The badge for just logging in once is not even unlocked. Has anybody else's been unlocked? I know the badges are working since I have 40 unlocked, but I just find it strange that a simple one like logging in to the forums are not working. also has anyone noticed that the forums always opens on a random page of the Simpsons? Posting to the new forums doesn't work?
Hey EA! Trying to do a post in the SWGOH General Discussion forum and get the not-so-helpful response of "Something went wrong" so I try again after editing and get the same error and then try again and eventually get the "maximum number of posts" error even though I've not successfully posted anything. Feedback: make the errors let us know why the posts don't work so we can fix it? Request: help me out, folks, I just want to post! It's got a couple links to non EA sites and a screenshot, is that the problem? It doesn't say any swears, so I don't think that's it. Actually, I wonder if this post will even work... Hello! I transitioned to the EA Forums for The Sims and I'm having an issue with tagging. One of my creations posts was moved from the old forums to here, which is great--problem is I want to tag it as "lots" and "gallery sims" or something similar but when I click on the tag button it's only showing four tags to choose from. Hello, I noticed some small bugs, not knowing if it is important or not I prefer to notify them here Firstly I play on PC, I created a house which used a lot of simsflus of the family in construction mode (the construction tab only) I saved and restarted my life mode with this same home which no longer had the same funds so it's a little bit anoying. Also i have the pack "grow together" and when a kid ride around with his bike he has a leg that is frozen and only moves when he does tricks So far I have "only" noticed that. Access Denied Forums
I keep getting a notification Access Denied you don’t have access to this area of the forum or it doesn’t exist when I try to return to a thread that I frequently chat in. I’ve tried clicking from an email I have of someone mentioning me, from the notification on the forum and by searching it and get the notification every time. I can enter the section it is in (Sims Franchise Discussion) and can access other threads without issue. Can someone help please? Hi simmers. It is Melanie aka mcrudd here. I have joined the new forums and is looking around. I am very lost at the moment, I can see that a lot of my threads did manage to come over, although the only way I can find them is via my profile page, I am unable to locate them via the new menus. I also noted that all of my images are broken, I am not too bothered about the gameplay screenshots, but all my mods and baby clothes photo's are gone too. It does also not seem to be a clickable link for you guys to click on, so I have no idea how to fix all this. I am postop at home, had surgery 5 days ago so am a little loopy at the moment, but would love to fix and understand the new forums before the release of the new pack so that I can test all my mods and so forth for you guys like I used too. I would appreciate any input, help, advice you have for me on when and how to fix this, and what you guys have managed to figure out and so on. Start a Discussion Issue
Well, hopefully this works...lol! I tried to start a new discussion over in The Sims 4 Creative Corner area of the new forums to get a "You've exceeded the maximum number of posts you can publish. Try again later." pop-up. Tried each day since the new forums was live and received that message. Not sure what I am doing wrong, if I am doing anything wrong. I don't know how many times I have reached out for help on this matter and not one EA person has attempted to explain,or help with this. I can get here on my phone, but not on 3 Pcs, on 3 different browsers in 3 different locations. If no one has a clue as to why, it would be nice to know that, rather than having spent the last 5 days trying to troubleshoot from my end, when Google says the error is generally the host!
