Hey @dwalsh27 the issue is most likely a system issue rather than a game one. 

Do you ever see an error message of any kind when the issue occurs?

Would it be possible to reset your console to see if it makes a difference?

  • @EA_DarkoI have reset console and cleared the cache on several occasion! I have uninstalled and reinstalled. If it was a system issue why does no other game crash? It only happens on apex legends so don’t tell me it’s a system issue! If it was then surely all my other games would do the same thing but they all run smooth as pie. It’s just apex that does it. When it happened in season 3 it randomly fixed itself after a month or so. It’s an issue on your end for sure

    * never an error message just old school PUBG style buzz for 10 seconds and then dashboard

  • 3rd reinstall and as soon as I ready up before I even get into character select it’s an instant crash! It is 100% a problem with the game! npw on PUBG a game rebound for being majorly broken and it’s smooth no crashes no frame rate drops no cruddy SSBM just a regular fun game that doesn’t make me want to gouge my eyes out with a rusty spoon in the hope of not only going blind but also getting tetanus... jks, seriously not a Robles with my Xbox though

    Hey @dwalsh27 if it was an issue with the game then we would be seeing more reports of this. At the minute it does not appear that this is an issue that many people are facing, I played APEX Legends for a couple of hours last night on Xbox One and saw no issues. As such, and from your description of the issue it would appear to be a system issue and not a game issue. As for why it does not happen with other games, this can happen. On my first Xbox One, I had a similar issue where a loud grinding noise would be heard and then the system would crash. It only occurred when playing a certain game with all other games working fine, I ended up sending the console back to Microsoft who found an issue with the laser even though the game affected was a digital one.

    Do you have multiple hard drives connected or have you upgraded your original one?

  • @EA_Darko no upgrades just regular one x with no extra hard drive. It happened season 3 as well then randomly fixed itself. I believe it happens when call of duty has a large update as the exact same thing happened last time. My Xbox makes no sound when it crashes just the game does through my headset. I can literally guarantee next time there is an update for apex that is more than a few gb it will start working fine again just like last time!

    Hey @dwalsh27 if the issue was with APEX Legends then I would be seeing many more reports of this. That I am not would mean that this is most likely a system issue. 

    It's no harm reaching out to Xbox support to see what they can recommend.

  • @EA_Darko I will give it a go and hopefully they can fix it for me as it kinda sucks not being able to play my favourite game 😂😂😂
  • @EA_Darko Have spoke with Microsoft and tried full reset and had same issue! Now doing a full Factory reset Xbox guru said that if this still persist then it’s definitely not a hardware issue and an issue with account synchronisation on apex which means it is definitely an issue on you end! Said if apex sends me wrong info it will cause it to crash. Says this is extremely rare but does happen from time to time! Would also explain why I have had this issue previously for it then to randomly just fix itself




  • Final step for me now is to reinstall again! Make a new profile. If it’s let’s new profile play but not my original where I have spent all the money then it’s an issue with you guys and I am entitled to full refund he says... hopefully it won’t come to that! Can you help with that if it does? 

  • @EA_Darko So after doing a full factory reset and fully wiping hard drive i reinstalled game and it did not let me play on my original profile and also did not let me play on a new profile. Xbox guy assured me if it was an issue with my system it would affect other games to! He guaranteed it will be from the info you send to my Xbox! Is there anyway you can check the info that gets sent to my Xbox?
  • Also when my original account is not signed in it will not let me play from new account as it says I must sign in with profile that purchased the game.... it’s a free game so not sure what’s up there? 

  • @EA_Darko So I have loaded my friends account onto my Xbox and it lets me play! Will not let mine play though? You still gonna tell me it’s an issue with my Xbox? Am I banned? Never received any notification about a ban or anything! Guessing it’s a synchronising issue with my account? My gamer tag is derpa te gurkha and I play on Xbox. Can you get someone to look into this?
  • @EA_Darko Still waiting for a reply mate? How can I fix this as can confirm it’s an issue with apex and not my Xbox! Even got my friend to sign into my account on his Xbox and the same issue happened there! Either help me fix it or help me get a refund pls

    Home button>My games&apps>Apex legends>Go to Manage game&add-ons>Saved data>Reserved Space>Clear reserved space
    Don't delete your saved data profile.

    Home button>System>Settings>
    -General>Power mode&startup>Energy Saving

    -System>Console info>Disable enhanced error reporting

    -Preferences>Feedback>Disable send notifications

    -Account>Remove accounts> remove your account (you have to remember email and password to log in again)

    Home button>System>Settings>
    -General>Power mode&startup>Full shutdown

    Wait 1min and unplug power cord from the back of Xbox for 2 min.
    Plug in the power cord and turn on Xbox.
    Sign in with your email and password.

    Test Apex Legends.

    Also, in game Apex Legends>Settings>Video>Field of View> 100 or lower to avoid crashing

    90 is also good.

  • That’s kind of a load.  I play on Xbox, and there’s someone disconnecting and coming back about 1 in 3 games, on my squad alone.  

    it’s a lot easier to deny a problem exists than to try to fix it!

    It started with your new season. 

  • There's no crash report because your game just crashes without any messages that it crashed. So much * added to this game but the main problem still getting ignored.  Sad game

    Has to be so many reports before they'll accept that there's a problem with their game. That is just * sad af lmao

  • Ive had this happen to me almost 80 tines since season 5 came out. This absolutely an issue w the game. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it multiple times.

  • I have also had the same problems with the game crashing and freezing intermittently ever since I started playing Apex. I have had no issues with any other games. Recently things have got much worse in that the game crashes even before I have even landed. I have had several live chats with various EA advisors and performed all the recommended fixes but nothing has been able to resolve this issue. I then resorted to ringing the customer helpline. BIG MISTAKE!! After spending an hour on the phone (which cost me a whopping £30) the issue is still not resolved. My case has been escalated and I have been informed that it will be fixed by tomorrow, but I don't have very much confidence that it will. I have read so many posts from other gamers who have the same problem, and YouTube is awash with gamers dissatisfied with this frustrating issue So how can EA say "that the issue is most likely a system issue rather than a game one and if It was an issue with the game then we would be seeing more reports of this".  I have only been on this help forum for a few days and there are plenty of people complaining of the same issue. It’s a lot easier to deny a problem exists than to try to fix it! It's not as though EA does not possess the resources to fix this unbelievably frustrating issue. This is totally unacceptable, so come on EA get it fixed.

  • This is 100% an Apex issue, it started in season 5 when they added the rejoin feature I constantly get kicked or have the game crash and get server timeout errors. Man fix your game Apex because it’s broken terribly atm. 

  • It's a problem with the game. I'm seeing it as well and I've reinstalled and done everything else I can think of on xbox

  • Also having this problem. Crashes and takes me straight to the dashboard at least 5+ times a day, and i only play for a few hours. It’s extremely frustrating. Doesn’t happen with any other games.

    @CapRedBeard879 Yeah I still have the issue. For me it happens 3-4 times per game though so apex is completely unplayable for me these days. It will randomly start working for a few weeks every now and again but then breaks again. I know it’s nothing to do with my Xbox or internet provider as have had it all checked. 100% an issue with respawn/EA despite there refusal to admit it. My game even crashes in the lobby! No other game crashes like apex. The idiots at EA always ask for an error code... there is never an error code though! The game just freezes and makes a god awful noise through the headset and after about 5-10 seconds kicks you to the Xbox dashboard. I will never pay for another EA product again because of this tbh. No more Fifa, madden or nba and no more packs etc so F U ea you will never receive another penny from me you joke of a company
  • I'm having the same issue playing on my Xbox one  x, I've tried everything! Nothing will work, I can barely get into a game and then before I even land my audio starts to cut out and then about a minute into landing the game completely freezes and I cannot even quit the program from my dashboard or do a shut down. I have to do a hard reset to even get out if the glitchy trash. This starting happening the day the most recent update came out and no other game I own has had any issues playing. I have solid hardwired internet. I uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times and have reset cache, changed setting..factory reset and I've spent over $100 dollars on apex packs and skins and yet I can't even * get a fix 

  • I am having the exact same issue. I have cleared cache, changed servers, cleared MAC address, created a new profile. NOTHING has worked. IT IS A LARGER PROBLEM
