Cannot play the game on my PC since the update

Hello -

I cannot play the game on my PC since the update. I believe this is a common issue, but my PC had no trouble with Apex at all before the update, and now stutters/lags/maxes out my CPU to 100%.

It is incredibly frustrating that the update instantly broke the game. The settings on my PC are exactly the same and have not changed - literally any other game I launch is perfectly fine.

I am playing on a Desktop PC using Steam.

When I start the game, the menu lags and so does the character pre-animation. When I try to get into an Arenas or Battle Royale match, I never get past the loading screen and time out with a code:net error. Then, if I relaunch, it tries to reconnect me to the game and crashes again. Upon launch, my CPU use immediately goes to 100%, which I would guess is causing the lag, stuttering and unplayability.

This happens every time I start the game. I have an I5, GT 1030, 16gb of ram.

I tested my internet connection, it is fine. I also tried updating my graphics card and repairing the game, it made no difference.

Please advise on this issue.

  • Hi! I am having the exact same issues as well. My pc is not very strong but was able to run the game perfectly fine before the Genesis update. I tried redownloading the game through steam only to have the same issues when relaunching the game. After character select, the game crashes with code net. Then when I return to the game, it is unplayable as my fps drops to nearly 10 and the lag and frames are so bad that I am often just kicked again. Its nearly impossible to move while in game. The lobby and and home screen seem to work perfectly fine which is odd. I was really excited to play the new event but I guess i cant. I hope somebody has some insight on how to fix this because all of my other games are working perfectly, and it does not seem to be a problem with steam and rather the game itself. (Also this is while I've been playing on the lowest settings possible, and I'm still unable to play in game.)

  • Hey yesterday my game was completely fine, but today, like 15min ago i start having this same issue i can't even play because it is using 100% of my CPU and 99% of my HDD, game is moving in frames when i land. The last time i had this problem was in S5 att 

  • NEVER had issues like this before.. its simple, after the update ive been getting 100% cpu usage.. I cant play... MANY others are having the same issue as me.. please fix

    Ive tried, re installing, messing with settings, reloading, iupdate drivers... but since im seeing so many other ppl are having the SAME EXACT ISSUE... my hope would be the EA's wrking on a fix..

  • Hello - 

    Any updates on this issue? I am still unable to play. I have tried running as an administrator and tweaking Apex permissions, but nothing works.
