Penalized for game crashes

This has been an issue for as long as penalties have been implemented, and I'm stupefied that there still is has been no solution for this. The here been so many instances where either I or my party members suffer a crash while playing, either ranked or a mix tape mode, and when it inevitably fails to reconnect us, we are hit with a match abandon penalty. It happens so frequently that if I am successfully re connected, I am genuinely shocked, which isn't exactly the mark of a product well made. There really is no good explanation for this nonsense. I even remember a developer saying that I am still at fault because "abandoning the match ruins the game for your teammates". Which completely dodges my question; Why am I being punished for your incompetence?
