[INFO REQUEST] Error Code: EC:10005 In EA app

For days now, I’ve been reaceiving this error code on my PC. I repaired the EA App, uninstalled and reinstalled it, checked my Norton firewall, reset my router, ran as Administrator and tried other fixes, but the error persists. This has never happened before, and it only affects the EA App—my Steam games run without issue.

PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM ASAP!!

    Hi Shanice712​

    We were hoping you could help us out by running an EA app Error Report so we can take a look. When you have the chance, please use the steps below to run the EA Error Reporter. These steps will allow you to run it without having to run the EA app itself: 

    1. Go to Start or press the Windows key on your keyboard, and enter EA Error Reporter.
      • Alternatively, you can copy and paste the following path into the Windows Explorer address bar: C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop
      • Once you’re in the folder, select the ErrorReporter application.
    2. Choose the Type of problem you’re having.
    3. Tell us about the issue you’re having in the Description of problem field.
    4. Check the box next to By clicking this box, you agree to share diagnostic information with EA.
    5. Click Submit report and wait for it to complete.
    6. Copy and save your Report ID for safekeeping.


    Once you have the Report ID that you got in step 6 above, please reply to this thread and include it in your response.

    Whenever I try to play The Sims, the EA app fails to connect. I always get error 10005 and error 201. I really want to play the game. Please help me fix this! To add, I’ve already tried all the solutions available on the internet, but nothing has worked. ㅜㅅㅜ

    Hi Shanice712​,

    This could be caused by background applications or your network, so try the following steps and see if they can resolve the issue:

    • Check for other applications that may be limiting EA App or Game performance
    • Restart your device in Clean Boot mode, then just try running the client and game
    • Test another connection when logging in, for example mobile hotspot instead of Wifi

    The Sims 4 was showing as needing an update on the EA app on MacBook Air. The update wouldn't get past 1% before showing as not connecting to the internet (internet/wi-fi fully connected). I tried to repair the game using the app help and had the same issue. Now the game is showing the error code EC:10005 Failed to log in "The app couldn't connect to EA's servers. Check internet connection and try again". The app now not open and I am unable to uninstall it .  I have not been able to try the steps on https://help.ea.com/in/help/ea/ea-app/uninstall-ea-app/#uninstall-ea-app as I cannot open the EA load page. Is there anything else I can try to get my game to work?

    I can't access the ea launcher, it gives me an error.(Failed to log in
    The app couldn't connect to EA's servers. Check your internet
    connection, and try again.
    Error code: EC:10005)
