1800s Theme

Hello all, I build a lot of Victorian houses and got to thinking that an 1800s theme would be awesome!
The style of clothing e.g.: men, tails, top hats, canes, and dockworker attire; women, “Empire silhouette” style dresses, and various hairstyles, makeup, accessories like parasols and coin purse/reticule.
Building items would include ornate windows, roof styles, trims and toppers, wall decorations, iron/brick fencing, and yard ornaments. All build items can be turned into Gothic or have an abandoned look by adding dark colors, debris and cobwebs. These are just some of my ideas.
What are your thoughts?

Thanks, MrsToad🐸

  • The only way this would work is if the also provided alternatives to the phone and computer as a way to do things that are strictly tied to those electric devices. Just the look of the past eras isn't enough.

It’s really depressing bc I’m on console. So, we are limited to whatever EA releases. But, I completely agree that we could delve into broader themes using history as baseline. The release of Royalty & Legacy pack showed that there is a market. Imagine Roman Colosseum with gladiators? Wait… I’m getting ahead of myself.
They could definitely broaden upon this.
    Thanks for your input!

  • We have got some Regency era CAS/BB with R&L and LBMB kits. But more Victorian leaning could be expanded, as most of our Victorian CAS/BB is from the Vampire pack but not exactly the best for transitioning era play vs. decrepit and Vampire play (since limited swatches).

We could really have a Victorian update/addition with still some Regency cross over. I think these are popular and wanted. Some people bought the Vampire pack just for the BB and/or CAS. I'd love a downtown Victorian heart of the city neighbourhood.

  • Are you asking for EA to supply all of this? I'm just wondering.  I think you may find some styles of clothing in the game already. May not be exact, but close enough. I have a save that I call my Ancestral save that dates back to 1760, which would be twenty years after my foremost ancestor arrived in the colonies. I have a great deal of fun with it, so I can see what you mean.

If you are able to have cc, (which I guess depends on the type of OS you're using or if you're on console), much can be found online. There is a challenge that some play starting with the Stone Ages and working your way forward. Look under Historic Sims, I think it is, or just clothing for the 19th century. At any rate, I think it's a great idea!
