Annoying Gnomes from Enchanted by Nature

I have the new expansion pack for fairies and I’m aware that gnomes were a big part of the marketing for some reason. I’m currently playing in San Myshuno in a family that has nothing fairy related going on, yet these stupid gnomes keep appearing in my home. Sometimes they clean, other times they break everything in my house. I’m aware that in the game options there’s a way to turn off things like dust bunnies and whatnot but why doesn’t an option exist to turn off these dumb gnomes?
If I’m missing something, someone please enlighten me because I’m so sick of having to call the repair service every time these gnomes appear. I’ve been dragging and selling them when they show up but not before they break everything. It’s honestly just a really annoying feature. I can understand them showing up in Innisgreen, but in any other neighborhood is just plain ridiculous. I honestly don’t even see the appeal.

No, I’m playing in San Myshuno. No lot traits that have to do with gnomes at all. My sims did get those ridiculous ailments, but I cured them and the gnomes still come.
I really wish there was just a switch like there is for dust bunnies

  • Just to eliminate the possibility, does your lot have a challenge enabled that might attract gnomes?

  • Yeah, the Ailments are bunk. My Sims already get sick too much from GtW illness and cats and dogs are constantly sick, now this nightmare. Huge annoyance.

Some of these ailments defeat the purpose of lot traits. Did they forget about lot traits? There should be one that bans illnesses of all sorts. I'd slap it on everything.

  • I've been playing in Innisgreen for a few days and didn't see any gnomes on the home lot. As far as I know, you can't turn them off but their appearance is triggered by game events. Check maybe your sim is suffering from an ailment called Gnome Lure Cure. It attracts gnomes to your lot. Also, Harvestfest attracts gnomes on the lot.

I have, and I cured them. The gnomes still show up. Truly just wish there was a way to shut them off.

  • Check your sims, one or more is suffering from a aliment. Then get a cure from the apothecary shop for everyone infected.
