Game Crashing [Info Requested]
Hard crashes in menu and had it crash in play now right on the intro. This has happened since last College football 25, I am on an Xbox Series X. [CM - updating thread title and tags for clarity and visibility] update- issue still exists but what worked for me was trading in Xbox Series X I had gotten last year for an Xbox Series S haven’t had any crashes personally could be something with certain years of Manufacturer of Xbox Series X’s causing the crashes, my old console last year on CFB25 crashed even after the supposed fix, I hope this helps for people not getting any traction from EA, I know it’s not ideal but my faith in an actual fix is probably lower than 0%.18KViews53likes952CommentsCoach Suggestion Playbooks Show the Same Plays
When creating a custom playbook, the "Coach Suggestions" section in-game always present the same pool of plays, regardless of your star ratings/selections in the "My Gameplan" section in the custom playbook menu. Obviously, spending lots of time on creating a custom playbook with unique ratings for the coach suggestions, and then for it not to work is quite frustrating. Let me know if I can provide any more details! I've tried raising and lowering the adjustments, even going as far as having several plays at "100" or "5 stars" and the same 15 plays appear for each situation (1st down, 2 & long, etc.).,Solved2.7KViews33likes72CommentsAn Open Letter, re: NCAA Football 26
Dear EA, I'm writing this after my 35th+ attempt to complete a single game in NCAA Football 26. I've tried everything - different teams, game modes, saved files - and yet, every single time, the game crashes during gameplay. I am one of THOUSANDS experiencing this issue. For me, the pattern is consistent: the crash always occurs during a deadball situation - timeouts, between quarters, or after a play ends. Not once has it crashed mid-play. One time I was able to get deep into the third quarter, but I had to simulate the rest of the game just to avoid another crash. I’m convinced if I hadn’t simmed, it would’ve crashed again. In Year 2 of my offline Dynasty, after 19 attempts, I'm finally 1-0. 15 attempts later, and I'm still 1-0 because I cannot get through my second game of the season. Year 1 went completely smooth. During the offseason, I brought in 25 high school players and 10 transfers. As an invested fan of the game, I spent hours changing the names and gear of every single high school commit (I never touch attributes). Gameplay outside of the on-field experience has been solid, with no major issues. However, the core of the game is PLAYING THE GAME! And it's clear the gameplay is broken and no one is communicating any solution on how to fix it. Let me be very clear: I bought this game to play it, not sim my way through seasons. Right now, I physically cannot finish a game. EA_Kent and any other EA representatives: You owe the community a direct response. This is a widespread issue. I see others reporting it. And still - it's radio silence. It’s disrespectful to the loyal fans who waited over a decade for this franchise to return, to those of us who pre-ordered it before the 2026 release, and to those of us who spend their hard earned money on a product that they cannot enjoy. This matter deserves regular updates! This matter deserves information! This matter deserves an apology! And I even believe this matter deserves some type of compensation (gamer points, a discount towards a future purchase, something). Trust is broken with one of the most passionate fanbases in sports gaming and the lack of information and is incredibly frustrating. I'm not asking for the impossible. I'm asking for transparency, accountability, and a timeline for fixes. Acknowledge the issue. Communicate your progress. After the update when I press the R3 button to get new play selections it removes all the plays and I am unable to get them to show back up. Was playing RTG last night and had no issues selecting the extra play selection. The update that came through has now made it to where when you go to extra play selection, no plays pop up and there is no way to pick any plays. The playing style grades are completely broken. The stats are wrong, the grades and rankings are incorrect. This is causing players to transfer and missing out on top recruitis. Playing style rankings and the stats of other teams must be fixed. I created a playbook and rated the plays in gameplan for every situation. Coach suggestions are the same 6 plays over and over, regardless of down/distance/situation. Hello all, I have noticed that the CPU RB's are having some issues with their pathfinding leading to them not being efficient runners. For reference, I am on Heisman sliders with the CPU Run Blocking knocked all the way up to 97 to try and aid their efforts, but it's not enough. Take a simple inside zone play. The RB can aim for the A and B gaps. What is happening right now, even when facing a highly rated back like Love and his elite OL at Notre Dame, is that the blocking will be quality and Love simply needs to hit either gap full speed for a likely gain of 4-6 yards, which you'll easily take on an early down. What ends up happening is typically 1 of 2 things. Love will immediately take the handoff and try to inexplicably bounce it outside, usually unsuccessfully, often running into either the back of the tackle or just straight into whoever has set the edge leading to a stuffed run. Or, he will take the handoff and make multiple hard cuts in a short period time which causes him to essentially gain 0 ground while allowing time for the defense to swarm him for another stuffed run. I can only guess as to what is happening behind the scenes since I'm not personally looking at the logic. The first issue I think that is at play here is that the ballcarrier radius checks for threats is potentially too large. That could be what is causing the CPU RBs to "freakout" so much on runs between the tackles and is having them either dance behind the line too much or bounce it outside. Take the inside zone run example from above. While we, the users, can tell that the play is blocked well and the RB can hit the hole for a nice chunk of yards, I think the distance checks are causing the RB to interpret the 2nd level defenders near the gap as larger threats than they are. They're unblocked and they are within the radius of the check, so the logic tells them to avoid those players. The only option they have to avoid those players is bouncing it outside. This is also why the CPU seems to run better on perimeter runs by default. When blocked to the same quality as the inside zone example above, the CPU has a lot less issues navigating the field because they're already aiming outside, the blocks are meant for them to get outside, so any logic issues telling them to go outside only reinforce what they are already doing by design. I don't know if the designed gap(s) on the play hold weight in the ballcarrier's pathfinding logic, but if so, I think that weight needs to be increased so that RBs are more willing to hit the designed holes more often to take the 3-5 yard gains that most offenses would gladly take. On top of that, I don't know if the radius checks that cause them to bounce outside also do the math to see if the RB would even beat the player to the edge or not. If not, that's something that would likely be beneficial. However, that's also not likely something that would make it into a patch. If there is that additional logic in place, then the higher rated backs, at least in terms of awareness and ballcarrier vision, need to rely on that math more often so that they are more intelligent in when they do and do not bounce the runs outside so that it happens in more proper situations. A RB like love is seasoned and knows not to bounce every run outside. When he does, he typically picks the right time to do it and wins the foot race. That needs to be represented in game. One other issue that I have spotted consistently as well is that when RBs are making the right decisions and are trying to cut upfield or back into the cutback lane, they are often doing it a step or two late. On a stretch play, if they are reading the T's leverage and decide to cut up his backside like they are supposed to, they're doing it a step late causing them to physically collide with the tackle causing them to slowdown if not outright fall down or get wrapped up by the engaged defender. It's almost as if the ballcarrier logic and locomotion system aren't completely in sync and when the decision to cut is made, it's mid step cycle causing this delay, which seems to be happening at a high frequency. I think if the ballcarrier logic could be cleaned up and improved on, the CPU's offense would become a lot more efficient and authentically challenging to play against. Right now, even when trying to max out the CPU's run game sliders on Heisman you can slow a team down like ND without much hassle simply due to the RB pathfinding issues. Their OL will open the holes you expect given their ratings, it's the RB play that is the issue. I hope this feedback is helpful and does make it to the team. I do enjoy CFB26 and think the game has improved significantly over 25 in many areas. I even think the CPU's run game has improved over 25, so I don't want this post to come off too negatively. I'm coming from an angle where I enjoy the game and would like to see certain areas improve and this is an area that sticks out to me and I feel I have a decent read on what the issues are.272Views16likes9CommentsPlaying style dealbreaker
So I have a RB on my team with a dealbreaker of playing style saying I have F when he is not only the most used player on my offense he is leading the heisman race. I just noticed this but DO NOT CHANGE ANY PLAYERS POSITION AFTER THE SEASON. I had transferred a 5 star elite LEDG to REDG and they went from zero skill caps to so many skill caps like I basically recruited a 3 star normal rate player. Thanks a lot EA. This needs to be fixed ASAPwith fixing all previous position transfers. I don’t know how you would do it but give us a break. The game is not enjoyable at all in its current state. Ball snap issue even though there is a work around in most cases with OL options, can’t change existing player numbers, can’t do in season position changes, post season position changes screw up the player progression for worse, dealbreaker for playing style is way off, playing time deal breaker is way too strict for recruiting new players, can’t do free practice in dynasty with multiple users so can’t try out playbooks and make favorite plays, I don’t care about this as much but my son is young and plays on freshman to learn and he said he misses that the edge rushers were able to not go off sides in 2025 but now they do, I don’t know about that one being a big problem for most players but he wants me to bring it up because that’s a feature he wants turned on. Just seems like EA didn’t pay at all for beta testing and letting pre orders do all the heavy lifting. I will have to go back to 2025 because if you can’t change player positions without this huge penalty it’s not worth it. Wear and tear has a good concept but is completely over exaggerated. My half backs are set to “keep fresh” and autosub out at 90 stamina and by week 3 my starting HB’s season pool is less than 25% at 12-18 carries/game. His injury, toughness, and stamina attributes are all 85+. I get that wear and tear is supposed to add realism and it could, but it should never be able to be almost fully depleted by week 3 of a season especially when your subs are set to the max “keep fresh” setting. Now I have to waste an entire season fiddling with wear and tear sliders to fix this mess myself and most of my players for the next 4 years will feel the effects of the overdone wear and tear of this season.3KViews12likes8CommentsDynasty Updates | July 17th

I havent seen anyone mention that stadium atmosphere is staying the same for all schools in dynasty. User schools in rebuilds stay at a d or F regardless of stadium size, attendance, team prestige. Cpu teams also stay the same as day 1 of a dynasty start teams that drop to 2* staying in top 15 of stadium atmosphere. If you watch any youtube videos of dynasty gameplay you will also see that the grade never changes. This is an issue for team prestige if the team prestige grade is tied to all school grades like last yr plus the obvious gameplay issue of not having dynamic home atmospheres for good teams.983Views12likes15CommentsError CE-108255-1/Game Crashing
I know there are a ton of posts on this issue as far as the game crashing (in mostly the 1st quarter) when playing online dynasty using teambuilder. My issue though is, I've followed EA's troubleshooting and have gone as far as resetting my entire PS5. While I have backed up game files, I've lost my entire archive of screenshots and vidoes that I have collected over the years which is pretty devastating. And it was for nothing. I don't get much time to play the game so when I finally do it would be nice for a game you spent $100 on to actually work. Can you confirm this only effects teambuilder online dynasty modes? At least I can start a non-teambuilder meanwhile and hope it doesn't crash?
