Managers
Since EA this year has presented face packs to some coaches. The only problem being is. The coach pool is made up of non nhl coaches. In 26. Why not change the coach concept to managers. Leave the coachs and their face packs intact. But use actual NHL managers and their face packs. The same synergies can be applied to the managers. The way it is now. No realism. You acquire a coach (non nhl) for the synergy. Be inclusive. Add managers to the game as well. Be much more interesting having various managers switch from team to team. Also the coach item would be replaced with manager.
Hybrid Hip Check
Would it be possible to add a one button hip check for those of us using the hybrid controller set-up in eashl? I’m able to use R3+L1 to hip check but figured since there’s an unused button (the switch player button that isn’t used in eashl) maybe that could become the hip check button. 🏒
Inconsistency
This **bleep**ing game is so **bleep**. They call off goals for ‘kicking’ where there is no kicking motion, opponents goalies play like prime Brodeur while ours plays like ilya bryzgalov if he [Edit, don't do this - EA_Barry] before hitting the ice. You have guys scoring short side goals from below the goalie, 800km/h one tee’s from above the circles going in, 20 km/h wrist shots from the point going in with no traffic. It’s honestly the worst Chel game in years and this is coming from someone who makes the club finals almost every seasonDefault outfit bug is going to go untouched for the entire year
Thank you, EA. My friends and I only play WOC and preordered your game for the 4600 points specifically to buy outfits from the shop. Yet, since release day, we’ve been stuck wearing a white or black hoodie. SIX MONTHS this has been a bug for. I’ve made multiple posts about it, all of which are met with the same answer, “there are more important issues we’re working on”. Really? Like what? You haven’t improved the gameplay in this franchise in almost 10 years, what could possibly be more important? Stop insulting your player base and fix your game. You guys are the only sports game devs that can’t make a game without issues that go unfixedTiming Based One Timers
Green one timers are beyond broken. Every time I play a world of chel game, at least 1 green one timer goes in. The goalies are clueless on how to save a green one timer. Regardless of the shot speed of the green one timer, 9 times out of 10 the one timer finds it's way to the back of the net. Someone will have 4 one timer goals in a game and manage to win the game. I have lost my club finals in the semi finals because of the broken one timer system. It's not only ruining my chel games, but many other players in this community. Fix the frequency of how much the green one timers go in, or bring back NHL 24 one timer system. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Build changing in dressing room
When you're in a match up against another team. If someone changes their build in the last 10 seconds it should add 10 seconds to the time for the other team to be able to match. My build will be different against small guys than it would be against big guys. If I'm laying against 3 truculence guys, and they switch to those in the last 5-10 seconds, I should be able to counter to match the size. People do this purposely so that you're stuck and can't match them.
Questions from older casual player
I've been playing NHL since 94 and have bought the majority of editions ever since, although I don't play online and am very much a casual gamer. I play All-Star as Pro is a bit too easy and I dominate time on the puck, my main issue is scoring and SOG. Does anyone have tips for passing? I see people online and in the (excellent) special team video tutorials make intricate passes through narrow gaps. I can never seem to excute this sort of play. I don't want to modify the sliders and would prefer to learn properly. Is passing accuracy improved when you are just gliding and not skating? I'm not sure whether I'm imagining it. Does the CPU take timeouts? I like to use it as an energy boost, but won't use it if the CPU doesn't.Live event thoughts
The live event going on is actually some good fun. It's a mindless stress-free mode. I appreciate having non competitive modes. I really enjoy both competitive and non but always having the option is nice, especially when nobody is on/ you get off of work after a long day and just want to unwind. The good It's actually fun. I am going to write far more in the "bad" category but not because I dislike the mode, I just see ways to improve on it. "Fun" is all that comes to mind for the good. The bad I'm not sure if it's just a personal issue but I was sometimes struggling to find the puck or my skater when things became too hectic. Personally I wish we could decide if we want the new player circle indicator (I know it's not new, it's been a few years) or we could revert back to the arrow above their head. Or perhaps we could decide to have that circle darker/ more thick/ filled in? This becomes a much bigger issue when you have any AI on your team. It's really hard to know who is on your team. Give them the same colored markers we have instead of white/ gray for our team and theirs. Almost too much going on at times. Bananas, freeze, super speed, fire all over.. it's fun and you can't take it serious but I think taking the mode down a notch would be nice. Perhaps add more of these things but every game feels different because these powerups/ environmental changes are randomized or chosen by players at the start of the game. I didn't know until after a few games that mashing x will unfreeze me. Having some info on some elements would be cool. That being said, I also don't like mashing buttons. Maybe just have a freeze period instead of a button mash mechanic. Or maybe we gotta press a sequence of buttons that appears above our head or something.. I don't think a live event like this should be going on during club finals. On the other hand, throughout ANY other time some event should be going on. Even if it's the same handful of events cycling on and off all year (just not during club finals) Very small complaint and I wouldn't expect this to change but the announcer became annoying after the first few games because he has such a small number of lines. Again, I'm nitpicking and it's not a big issue but "they're not friendlies" or w/e EVERY game was getting annoying haha One team I played against had a goalie trolling (not specific to this gamemode but) EA really needs to start doing more to get rid or trolling. They all back out, and we all have to find another game. It's just frustrating... speaking of goalies.. the smaller goalie power-down is perhaps a bit too OP imo. Again, I don't take the mode too seriously so it's w/e but it's almost like you just don't have a goalie for a bit. Everything else feels fair. I might add more later but I gotta head out.
PENALTIES, OR LACK THERE OF
Played a whole season, had 2 power plays, 9 PK’s. (All tripping) I set the penalties to 0 for me 99 to the CPU. This is unreal. Most of the time, the CPU has %100 passing also. I set that to 40 for the CPU. Still completing every pass. This game needs some serious work. Franchise mode, PS5
