Game needs admin permissions
This game used to run great, now, I have been trying to get it to run for days to no avail. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, followed all the suggestions in discussions on the subject, but nothing works. Every time I try to start the game, it gives me the pop up that it needs admin permissions. I have chosen run as administrator for the game, EA App, and Frosty Mod Manager....no matter which way I try to start the game, I get the same pop up. I have almost thrown my computer several times because of this....can anyone help??
Loot Bug
So my first playing, I think during Blood of Arlathan, I encountered a bug that made it so I couldn't buy anything from merchants. The money would be spent but I would get no items and the only way I could buy anything was if I spent something which you can only do with faction merchants. I also stopped getting items and improvements though chest, the only thing I would get was gold, which was rather annoying but my gear wasn't too bad so I powered through it. On my second play through now and after first getting to Hossberg I've encountered the bug again but this time I was able to go back to a save where it wasn't there. However, it kept coming back whenever I tried to buy anything from the merchants around Lavendel so I stopped trying to get anything from them. But while exploring it started up again until I skipped the 'Only an Echo' quest where you check on the family. For some reason, even if I don't collect any of the chest you find on that quest, I would get that bug. I'm on pc and I do have mods but the only one that effects items is one that unlocks all cosmetics for my armor and weapons so I don't think it would cause this. Update, happened again after doing heart of corruption, got the item in the chest after the quest and now merchants don't like me. Not loving that this might be a reoccurring bug.
Stuck under the world
This is my second play through, and didn’t encounter this the first time. At that point I can move, fire off with my staff, but as soon as I try to use the map or escape for the menu, it stalls out. If I just keep moving, I end up under the world. I’d read if you died it might correct the problem, but there’s nowhere to end my character. Anyone had this issue and know of any remedy? I’ve set everything to low, started again with a prior save, but nothing breaks through the issue. All research says this is a game breaking bug.
Heroic Leap still bugged?
I noticed a thread from about a year ago stating that heroic leap is not benefiting from both ability upgrades “Charged Smash” and “Striking Precision” which is kind of weird seeing as heroic leap is labeled as both a strike and smash ability. Now I did see that it used to be that you would straight up not get the precision buff if you spec into both upgrades. I seem to keep the buff so that seemed to be fixed but my heroic leap still does not get the guaranteed critical hit from precision. Has there been any word of a fix as a year long bug is kind of sad if you ask me.
Kataranda the Stormrider Quest Bug
The quest isn't spawning for me. I have completed everything up to the point of no return, and I have completed everyone's quests and all factions are 3-Star and I have 140 mementos. I don't understand why this quest isn't spawning for me. I tried it on 2 separate saves and I don't see the note in Taash's room or at the bulletin board in the Hall of Valor. What am I doing wrong?Memento bug in Ossuary
Like many others before me on different site discussion threads, I have encountered a problem in the Ossuary where you fight the Fabricator. The Small Painted Box Memento (that, weirdly, for some reason, looks like a dragon statuette and the previously obtained memento for Dragon Decoy looks like a black ball) grants 5o Caretaker points but does not appear anywhere in the library. All known fixes have been tried to no avail and yeas the game is up to date. Interestingly enough this is not my first playthrough having played the game multiple times previously. To confirm this is a problem I loaded the previous playthrough and the memento is in the library for that character's plathrough. For completionists this is an aggravatingly annoying issue.
Veilguard keeps crashing
Hey, same problem here — specs attached. Downloaded the game this week through Game Pass. I’m a big DA fan, but Dragon Veilgard keeps giving me the same issue: I start playing and at completely random moments (usually during cutscenes) the screen freezes, audio keeps going, and then the whole PC just reboots. I’ve already tried lowering settings, disabling hair options, switching between windowed/fullscreen, deleting cache and config files, running in compatibility mode, everything updated (NVIDIA drivers included), disabled scaling on the .exe… and it still crashes.

IT's happened atleast 10 times in 30 hours and it's testament to how much i adore this game that it hasn't really blemished my thoughts on the game so far, but it is annoying, so any help would be very welcome. Please pay attention to the following and repair the key-binding bug regarding "cancel hip-fire". In the custom keybinding settings for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the option to bind a key for "Cancel Hip-Fire" is missing, so any remapping involving Shift can’t be saved, severely disrupting players' established habits. Specifically, the Shift key is bound to "Sprint" by default, but many players prefer to reassign it to functions like "Block," "Dodge," or something else. When players attempt to change the Shift key's binding, the game indicates that the key map for "Cancel Hip-Fire" is missing (as this function was originally tied to Shift). However, the customization menu fails to provide an option to set a new key for "Cancel Hip-Fire." Consequently, players are unable to save their new binding for Shift. The game then prompts that a key is unset (for "Cancel Hip-Fire"), forcing the player to revert to the default settings. This is a particularly severe issue at least in the Simplified Chinese version of the game. Many of the default keybindings are not intuitive for most players, and this rather basic bug has a significant negative impact on the overall gameplay experience. It's been a long time since the game's release, and it's puzzling why such an obvious bug has not been fixed. This is almost certainly a contributing factor to the game's consistently poor reviews on Steam. Separately, regarding the gameplay, I'd like to add one more point. In addition to the traditional health bar, enemies also have a blue bar (which must be depleted with a shield attack) and a yellow bar (which requires a heavy attack to deplete). This design effectively forces players to use specific attack types against certain enemies, thus limiting their freedom in combat. This kind of design feels very outdated, and it is truly disappointing. [Original Chinese version] 龙腾世纪影障守护者的自定义键盘绑定漏写了取消腰射，导致与shift有关的改键无法完成，严重影响玩家游戏习惯。 具体来说，自定义键盘绑定里，shift默认是冲刺功能，但很多玩家想改成防御、闪避或其它功能。当修改后，游戏会提示“取消腰射”的按键映射没有了（因为原本取消腰射是对应于shift）。但是自定义键盘绑定却漏写了取消腰射，导致玩家无法重新设置取消腰射的按键绑定，最终结果就是玩家对于shift的修改无法被保存，游戏会提示有按键没有设置（取消腰射），无奈只能恢复默认。 至少在简体中文版的游戏中会出现这个严重问题，因为默认按键的设计有不少都不符合多数玩家的**bleep**作习惯，但是因为这个低级失误，严重影响游戏体验。 这款游戏自上市以来过了很久，不知道为什么这个明显的问题一直没有被修复，在steam上的评价也一直不好，这个肯定是原因之一。 另外，关于玩法，我再提一句，敌人除了传统的血条以外，还有蓝条（需要用盾击消除），有黄条（需要用重击消除），这相当于逼迫玩家用指定攻击手段来对付敌人，限制了玩家的打法。这种设计是很落伍的，真的很失望。
Dragon Age Veilguard crashing
I am having a lot of problems with Veilguard. Sometimes I click the start to begin playing and it starts up and the screen goes to the black screen right before the character scrawl and it just stops running and goes back to the desktop, and occasionally it will load up and when I try to go into an Andeluvian from the Crossroads, it starts to load and then it will again shut down to desktop, usually with no error message whatsoever. I have looked all over the internet for answers, updated every driver (my GPU is less than a week old and my computer is only 2 weeks old) and I am at a loss for what to do.
Direct X 12 issues with Veilguard
I've suddenly started having DX 12 issues with Veilguard whether I'm streaming it or not. Twice within ten minutes, I just had a) total crash to desktop with a GPU Crash/Hang error. b) not even a minute later, same issue but with this error. I honestly don't know what to do because my drivers are up to date, Win 11 is up to date, I've even done a totally clean uninstall/reinstall of the drivers. (Radeon 9070XT) So I am STUMPED.
Veilguard stuttering
Hi all, I finally got around to purchasing Dragon Age: The Veilguard a week ago. It ran great at first, but then it started stuttering. I have to turn V sync on to stop the screen tearing, but that's not what's causing the stuttering. I have tried pretty much everything to stop it. I keep thinking I've done it, only to have the stuttering return. A few days ago, my CPU cooling system crapped out, and I had to get a new one, and the stuttering is now worse than it was before (the occurrences themselves aren't worse but they're happening more frequently now). Things I have tried: *Deleting shader cache *Increasing available space for shader cache *Adjusting every display / graphic option in the game (one by one) *Capping the frame rate to 60 fps *Disabling fullscreen optimizations *Running the Nexus Mods registry edit *Giving the game high priority *Switching to a high performance power plan *Uninstalling and reinstalling the game *Scanning for and fixing corrupt system files *Verifying game files via Steam *Updating my BIOS *Updating (and rolling back) my Nvidia graphics drivers I have used MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner to determine that the CPU usage spikes just before a stutter and then everything drops. CPU and GPU temps stay stable or drop, so nothing is overheating. I've used LatencyMon to determine that some DirectX and Nvidia drivers are having the biggest DPC latency during the game, but not to the point of being red or yellow. The only thing I haven't tried yet is messing with the voltage or over/under-clocking my CPU. I don't want to go near that with a ten-foot pole! I've attached my Dx Diag file. Anyone got any other suggestions? (FYI: There are undoubtedly other things I've tried that I've forgotten to include in the above list.) I am loving this game otherwise and really want to play all the way through. So far I am persevering despite the stuttering, but it is taxing my patience.
