Yet another EA ID rant
I fully expect the response from EA to be, "if the system won't allow you to use this ID, then your only option is choose a different name." This is a BS response. I know much of the community has already complained about EA ID issues but I'll add my experience anyway. a swig o vodka has been my gamertag since the original xbox days and is still my gamertag on Xbox, playstation, Steam, Epic and Ubisoft. All but EA. For some reason that EA can't or won't give me other than "choose a different name", I can't use that name. After many attempts to change the variations of the letters and caps and no caps, the only variation that works is, a_swig_o_vaudka. Multiple chats with EA advisors has helped nothing and the last one advised me to come to the community forum so here I am. The first advisor was able to tell me that perhaps the word "vodka" was against the user policy. Which to that, I have compiled a list of names that I have come across in different battlefield matches. Names that I find hilarious but many might find them a bit more offensive than the word vodka and EA apparently is ok with them as well. [Removed - CM] At this point I don't expect EA to fix anything as they can't seem to fix their company at the moment but wanted to throw it out there. a swig o vodka is all I ask for.My Account got hacked, now I have to wait a year before I can play my games
Am I understanding this correctly, that because someone stole my information and hacked my account, I have to wait 365 days before I can unpair their steam account and access my games again? I tried contacting support but got no reply, and the only justification they give for this insane policy is that it's to "protect" my account. How is letting someone else piggyback off my account, while denying me the ability to play my own games, for a year protecting it? If there's anyone here with any advice or insight, I'd really appreciate it because this feels beyond insane
Basic functionality still not working on EA App after years of "development"
Dear EA, If you don't want Steam to take 30% of your cut, you'll have to do way better than this with one of your primary sources of income to become usable, let alone acceptable to your customers. There are just so many problems with this app that I'd be here for hours trying to list them all, but here are a few of the more annoying ones that should have been fixed years ago. Every single time I open this app, two things are guaranteed to happen: 1.) I'm FORCED to watch an AD for EA Play to renew my subscription (I never had one—I just once made use of a free trial so I could play something with a friend). I can't find any way to turn this off, and it's so incredibly annoying that I'd refuse to give EA another cent until this forced AD is gone, out of pure spite and principle. 2.) Without fail, this "game launcher" is not able to remember what games I have installed. So EACH TIME I open this app, I have to do an App Recovery so that this poorly made program finally "remembers" the two game directories I have on two different drives. How hard can it be to check two directories every time it launches? Steam can handle up to eight, by the way, with zero issues. Less frequent issues, but still things that should never happen: 1.) Thankfully, this now seems to be fixed, but I also had issues in the past where every time I launched it, I had to turn off "Usage Sharing," which turned itself back on after I'd disabled it the last time. I was told this is not intended behaviour, but it's hard not to see this as malicious intent with plausible deniability. I'd be interested to know if anyone here still has that "bug." 2.) This launcher keeps periodically asking me to enter the CD key for a game I'm trying to launch. WHY does this feature exist?? I log into my account, and all the games I own are verified on YOUR servers anyway. Why do I need to authenticate locally when I get none of the benefits, like being able to play those games without the launcher? You know, like when we still had physical media and had to enter a key. Why does that still exist if: You don't have physical media anymore (at least not on PC), and My games are already bound to my account anyway. Why do you still need this key nonsense? Yes, I know you can delete the keys so they get redownloaded to "fix" this issue, but the point is that this issue should not exist, period. 3.) I've now also started getting cloud corruption errors every few weeks. The problem is that all of my in-game settings get messed up and reset to their defaults. Weirdly enough, this goes to such an extreme that the settings get reset every time I die in Battlefield 3, for instance. If your cloud maintenance is so bad that you keep having corruption issues, why don't you use the local file instead of forcing the default config every time I die in-game? Either that, or the error is misleading to begin with and the problem is actually something local. Whatever the case, it's either that the cloud save servers are unreliable or your error messages are misleading. And before anyone says anything: yes, I tried reinstalling the app, but nothing changed. And yes, I did App Recovery (in fact, I need to do that every time for the app to work as intended). So my question is: how is it possible for one of your primary revenue streams to still be this bad so many years after launch? I'm surprised your shareholders aren't complaining that the app is insufficiently streamlined, increasing friction with your customers and therefore reducing potential revenue. For a company that's expected to maximize shareholder value, you're doing a horrible job at it. You can't even get an app to work that doesn't have a tenth of the functionality of competing game launchers like Steam. I know you now (thank goodness) no longer require the EA App for newer purchases like Battlefield 6 on Steam, but while that is a move in the right direction, it doesn't help those of us using older purchases where: No Steam version existed, or We already own the game on the EA App and are stuck with it. You'd also still be forced to use the EA App even if you bought the game on Steam, so there's no getting around the fact that you force all your customers to use a very poorly programmed application. So please fix your game launcher already. I think everyone has had enough patience which is YEARS at this point.MFA not working for new login
I am experiencing an issue with multi-factor authentication on my account. Here is a summary of my efforts to self-fix and my frustration with EA's AI-enabled chat. I was last able to access my account in April 2026. Since then, I updated my wifi to a different provider. That is the only change I can think of that may impact my ability to login. I have had an EA account for years and never experienced a login issue until this week. I remember my email and password. However, when prompted to enter in a code for authentication purposes, none is sent. The code is not sent to my email address. I added the EA email to the safe sender list. The email still does not come. I attempted to login with my cellphone number, but a text containing a login code never came. I also attempted to login through Google, but again, after clicking "Send code" no code is sent. Finally, I attempted to use a Passkey. I was able to scan the QR code but no passkey was found. So, I tried to login on an internet browser, but the same thing happened. No code was ever provided to my email or phone. Finally, I uninstalled and reinstalled the EA app. But still, the MFA function does not work. After trying multiple ways of logging in, I decided to contact the help desk. I was prompted to use the AI-enabled chat box. After going through the auto-mated functions, the chatbot told me to contact an EA Adviser. However, after clicking the contact adviser, the webpage tells me "This issue isnt supported by advisors." So that was also a dead-end. I made the account I am posting this message with an alternative email address. Any thoughts?
FIFA 19 FREE PLS
Hello EA Sports, I am a 7-year-old football fan, and I wanted to ask if there is any possibility of receiving access to FIFA 19 for Laptop. Unfortunately, my laptop cannot run the FC 26 Showcase smoothly, but I would love the chance to play FIFA 19 if there is any official way to get access to it. My Laptop specifications are: Laptop: ASUS X550VXK Operating System: Windows 10 GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M GPU Driver: Version 582.66 (WHQL) RAM: 8 GB Controller: Havit HV-G69 USB Vibration Gamepad I understand if this isn't possible. i tried at least 10 times in the span of 1h, but i just didnt recive the code, ea emails wasnt on blocked, i checked all the gmail folders, tried to log in with my psn but that requiered an email code as well, is there any way to log in an account without having to use gmail code?
