Reaper's Rewards: A Sims 4 Story
Reaper's Rewards Part 4: Friends with Death After fertilizing his plants, Lucifer could sense something eerie. He has an eldritch excitement and feels like having a ghoulishly good time. Lucifer notices the mail carrier has dropped off mail in his mailbox, so he goes to check to see what is sent to him this time. It’s another edition of the “Ambrosia Society” Newsletter. This talks about where to find Lilies and Snapdragon’s. He’s already growing them on his own, so he won’t need to go to Willow Creek to find any. Still confused as to why he is making Ambrosia, he uses the contraption he found in his greenhouse awhile back to summon the Grim Reaper. The Grim Reaper avoids talking about Ambrosia and mostly talks about Lucifer’s cooking. Mainly the cupcakes. Later in the day, Lucifer decides to go ahead and make more cupcakes. When he got dressed for the day, he decided to try on some new pants he received as a gift. They didn’t go well with any of his suits, but he did find another dress shirt to go with it. It doesn’t take much for Lucifer to draw a crowd around his food stand with his cupcakes. Many of his previous customers come back, even the ghost that tried one of his cupcakes before. It was nice seeing new customers as well. Even an astronaut stopped by his stand to try out his tasty treats. The Grim Reaper makes an appearance as he too has to try the cupcakes. He did mention earlier in the day about them to Lucifer. I think he had to try one for himself. Lucifer ends up selling 20 cupcakes this time around. In the evening hours, Lucifer made his way back to the greenhouse to take a cutting from his flowers per the guidance of the book he had been reading. Upon arrival, he notices another freezer boney at the entrance to his greenhouse. This one has a galaxy look to it compared to the other one. Lucifer makes his way inside. His flowers are perfect. He takes a cutting of the snapdragon before heading off to bed for the evening. Reaper's Rewards Part 3: Digging Holes Lucifer heads back to his greenhouse. Per the suggestion of the spirit in the crystal ball, he buys a starter fruit seed packet and plants the apple, cherry, and strawberry that were inside. All the planting has exhausted Lucifer. All of a sudden, the Grim Reaper appears and hands him a drink. After drinking the whole glass, Lucifer feels rejuvenated. Since Lucifer did a decent job at selling the pizza he cooked, he decides to try his hand at sweets this time around and sell a variety of cupcakes he makes. Even a ghost had to come and try out one of Lucifer’s homemade cupcakes. The mint ones were a big hit. He sold 22 out of 40 cupcakes in total. Over half of what he baked, or should I say cooked. Lucifer ends up finding yet another book in his possession. Obviously, from the Grim Reaper. This one was another book about gardening. It is titled, “Getting Your Thumbs Green”. Reading it, Lucifer finds out he should be fertilizing his plants. One suggestion is to use fish. There’s a pond nearby, so he decides to try his hand at fishing and see what he can catch, if anything. He was down on his luck until nightfall. That’s when the fish came out to play. He finds a tetra, angelfish, and a cichlid. It’s too dark out for him to do anything right now. The next morning, Lucifer goes to his greenhouse and uses the fish he caught to fertilize his lilies and snapdragons. They have grown to be looking nice, but he needs them to be in perfect shape. You guessed it... To Be Continued!SolvedLegacySims201710 days agoSeasoned Adventurer52Views4likes2CommentsReaper's Rewards: A Sims 4 Story
Reaper's Rewards Part 2: A Call Away The next morning, Lucifer checks in on his flowers. They have slowly started to grow. Branches have begun forming. He is wondering how long it will take before the flowers show. As he notices he has mail in his mailbox that came with the land, Lucifer walks out of his greenhouse to stumble on a little freezer boney standing guard. This definitely reassures himself that the Grim Reaper is watching over him. Lucifer checks his mail to find an "Ambrosia Society" Newsletter. He most likely got on a mailing list when he researched about Ambrosia from his phone. He flips through the pages that details on how to prepare to create Ambrosia through cooking and gardening. Lucifer didn't know much about cooking (as I don't want to cheat any of these skills for him). Because of this, something supernatural happens to him again. In his custody is another book. This one is titled, "Let's Cook". Lucifer spends the rest of the morning reading it, learning about many different cooking styles. Midafternoon that day, Lucifer tries his hand at cooking. He has set up an outdoors kitchen with a food cart to sell the foods he makes. He's down 1,795 simoleons in his pockets, so he is hoping this brings in some type of revenue. The first food Lucifer is interested in is making pizza. Everyone loves pizza. Unfortunately, with a lack of cooking skills, there can be drawbacks. Luckily, Lucifer had insurance to cover the cost of replacements. Spending most of his afternoon into early evening hours creating pizzas, Lucifer is ready to see if his pizza creations are worthy enough for customers. Lucifer ends up selling 10 of the 24 slices of pizza for the evening. Hopefully those who bought one will spread the word. Perhaps this will encourage him to cook better foods and gain the skills he needs to put together the Ambrosia he is seeking. The next morning, Lucifer finds a strange contraption sitting on a peculiar table. He knows he didn't put them there. He turns the handle on the contraption and the Grim Reaper appears. Lucifer met the Grim Reaper two days prior when it left Lucifer a message of concern and vanished. The Grim Reaper offers a pair of earrings to Lucifer for his aid in learning about Ambrosia. Lucifer is not too thrilled with earrings, but the Grim Reaper insists, and they magically appear on Lucifer's ears. They give him an eerie feeling that the Grim Reaper's cold hands are tugging at his soul. The Grim Reaper tells Lucifer to find the haunted house and use the seance table to summon other spirits who might know even more about Ambrosia. Lucifer arrives at the abandoned house while there is still light outside. Things always go wrong when the night falls and he wasn't about to find what that would entail for him. As he arrives, it becomes cloudy outside. Not a good sign to Lucifer. Making his way to the attic, Lucifer spots the seance table. There are trapped spirits behind glass casings, but Lucifer knows these are not the ones the Grim Reaper was seeking for him to summon. Lucifer begins doing what he can to call upon the spirits. Lucifer is successful in reaching out to a spirit and asks about Ambrosia. To Be Continued...SolvedLegacySims201716 days agoSeasoned Adventurer94Views5likes4CommentsReaper's Rewards: A Sims 4 Story
Reaper's Rewards Part 1: Assistant to the Grim Reaper Meet Lucifer Morningstar. Yes, a Sim based off the character behind the television series, "Lucifer". Lucifer has come to Newcrest and is about to pursue the Grim Reaper's rewards. Let's get the story started. It's the first day of Spring and the Grim Reaper approaches Lucifer with some very important news and then vanishes. Not knowing exactly what "Ambrosia" is, Lucifer approaches a passerby in the streets. With zero cooking skills (cause I don't want to cheat), Lucifer seeks out someone else to see if they know anything else about this "Ambrosia". The old man didn't help much for Lucifer, except the fact now he knows a little more why the Grim Reaper is worried. This "Ambrosia" can bring ghosts back to the living. Lucifer decides to ask one other to see if they know anything. Gee, where did Lucifer here that before. That was no help at all. Lucifer decides not to ask anyone else. Rather, he will do his own research straight from his phone. The research results tell him he needs starter flowers. With 17,500 simoleons in his pocket, Lucifer buys a seed packet. He also builds a small greenhouse to plant the flowers. Lucifer is no green thumb and someone knows it. After planting the flower seeds, a gardening book magically appears in his custody. Perhaps it's the Grim Reaper watching and assisting. The book is called, "Water, Light, and Dirt". He flips through the pages. The book explains how it is essential to research on what is being planted. Knowing helps understand more how to take care of it. As night falls, Lucifer begins his research on the three different types of flowers he started planting. Not for me. Be serious. It's for my sim, Luna Letterman. She's a newly-minted werewolf with the Loves Outdoors, Loyal, and Loner traits. Per the rules of the (Alphabet SuperLegacy) challenge, she needs an heir. This heir is going to be a Werewolf-turned-Mermaid. If any of you have sims on the gallery who are human or werewolf and would be a good match for Luna, please let me know how to find them.SolvedBissenNess3 months agoSeasoned Hotshot88Views1like9CommentsWhich way are you posting your screenshots to the forums?
For those who have made posts with screenshots, especially if you've put a story/SimLit, on the new forums, which have you found works better? To post screenshots from a url or directly on site? Is there a space limit for uploads for your entire account or just the post (I can't find that information)? I want to put a story I've been working on onto the forum, but I'm not sure what to choose for screenshots. I've added two screenshots for a challenge/contest I entered last week and just uploaded them to the forum since it was only two using jpeg with low kb. But the story would use a lot more screenshots so I don't know which way would be best. Or if it even matters.Solved92Views1like4CommentsHow do I get "into" the game?

I can't figure how to share youtube videos on this new forum. And I can't find any info regarding it either. Since we could share them easily on the old forums, I'd assume it would be stated if we no longer can do so. My old "Machinima by Simmerville" thread was moved to the new forums, and I was able to locate it. And So We Moved, a Cantrell: The Early Years Save “Lulu,” Joseph said. Seeing her frown at his chosen nickname for her, he began again, gently taking her by the shoulders. “Louise, I know you’re in your second trimester, but not that far into it. Besides, the journey normally only takes about two months’ time. This is a tremendous opportunity for us,” Joseph continued. “Here I get peanuts for doing the same job I’m being recruited for. I’ve already been promised over 200,000 Simoleons up front, if I take the job. The only catch, it’s on Vulcan. I served some of my time as a Marine on the red planet. It’s really a lovely place. Good people, if not a tad stiff in some manner, but you’ll adapt to it. I promise. I personally know Ambassador Sarek. Oh, and his wife, Amanda, is human. She’s also a teacher.” “But we’re to live in a compound? They keep all of the human residents in a compound? I don’t like the sound of it. Joseph, I don’t.” “It’s not what you think. The Vulcans rely on Logic and have trained themselves to avoid emotional statements as much as possible. Neighborhood implies emotion by the very nature of the word. It’s a very nice neighborhood, I’ve been there. We’ll likely not see too many Vulcans there. So, you’ll have the opportunity to make some friends. Human friends.” Louise lowered her head for a moment and let out a long, audible sigh. She really didn’t want to go. Gazing up again at him again, she said, “I’ve got one very active baby with another baby on the way. Being cooped up in a small spacecraft spells nightmare for me.” Joseph’s light blue eyes were aglow at the prospects of finally getting ahead in his chosen career. Another look at Joseph and Louise relented. She did love him so. Against her better judgement, she found herself saying, “Oh, all right. We’ll give it a try. But, if things don’t work out, please tell me you have an exit strategy.” “Exit strategy? Oh, sure. Yes Ma’am.” His smile was tentative, since he had already signed a two-year contract, renewable if he performed well at the job at hand. *~~*~~*~~*~~* The trip was long and arduous. The craft, already old, had several breakdowns along the way. Having to be towed, via Tractor Beam, to a Space station equipped to make repairs took way more time than expected, its location drawing them several parsecs off course. Again, due to the availability of out-dated parts. The advanced simoleons were meant to cover their housing. Sadly, the almost ancient Skiff took most of it just to get there. They could not afford the costs of repair, let alone the expenditure of time. Repairs took weeks. Waylaid as they were, virtual prisoners in their own ship, the repairs notoriously slow, suddenly Louise found herself in labor. “Oh, Joseph, this isn’t gas at all. This is the real deal. This baby is coming now. And I mean, right now.” “But we’re still parsecs away from Vulcan. The mechanics have assured me we’ll be on our way again very soon. Can’t you wait for another hour?” “Yes, Mr. Genius, I’ll just tell the baby to put things on hold,” she said, the humor curiously lacking from her pretty face. Then narrowing her eyes as if in contact with the baby inside of her, she shook her head. “No . . . no, somehow, he’s just not listening. He says he’s done baking and wishes to come out, now.” Joseph gazed at his young wife, “I’m in trouble, huh.” *~~*~~*~~*~~* True to their word, the mechanics finished up their work and bid the Cantrell family a Bon Voyage. The ship was still slow, which left Joseph in a near panic. Soon their toddler, Aaron was walking. Louise having to chase after him, who seemed to have a very bad case of the wanderlust. Or, perhaps he was just Inquisitive. At any rate, Louise was certain the mite was intent on exploring every nook and cranny of this sad vessel. She longed for the moment she could beam down and check out the only house they could afford with the leftover funds. *~~*~~*~~*~~* Five months after their second child arrived, their craft all but drifted into Vulcan’s atmosphere, where again, a Tractor Beam was used to pull them into the active space port where they offloaded. A crew was there to secure their luggage and little Aaron’s stuffed bear, that lay neglected on the deck. When his parents were able to interpret his anxious squawks, it was soon recovered. “Heaven forbid, Bear should get left behind,” Louise said, presenting it to the tot. By the iron grip the child had on the brown, stuffed replica of the Terran mammal, peace reigned once again. Their second child, another boy they named Erik, was no longer a newborn when they finally reached Vulcan space. Emerging from the craft in the hangar, a small delegation of Vulcans and Humans greeted them. Joseph had kept them apprised of his travel woes, which phased them not at all. He was given the day off to get his family situated in their new home. The couple only saw it virtually and had contracted a builder to make an archway between the two smaller bedrooms the boys would share. Among a few other alterations. Getting a chance to tour it, though soon brought Louise almost to tears. Beaming down to see the house in person shattered her expectations. If she found being cramped in a small spacecraft for nearly eight months was a nightmare, these quarters were equally small if not smaller. Two bedrooms, as per their changes, one bath, but the entire place was just small, the rooms cramped, not at all like the pictures online. Being rather adept at photography she should have realized the angle used was in an almost deceptive way. The kitchen was a bit of a joke. Strictly speaking a one-butt kitchen--- if it was even large enough for one. They had a small island added, for more working surfaces. No laundry room, whatsoever. She had the movers place the stackable washer and dryer in the corner of the main bedroom. There simply wasn’t anywhere else it could go. Joseph quickly settled into his new job, taking over the recently vacated 5th grade class at Province Elementary School, serving the Human Compound. So on top of having to adjust to the stronger pull of gravity on this planet, the thin atmosphere, which made breathing a bit harder for them, the hotter than blazes temperature, even in winter, which dropped to nearly unbearably cold temperatures once the sun went down; she also now had a new challenge before her. Louise found herself confronted headlong with Sibling Rivalry. Being an only child herself, this was foreign to her. Yet, Aaron was clearly jealous. He had a nasty case of it, she noted. So far he contented himself to pull at little Erik’s feet whenever Louise sat down to breast feed him. Louise had to be on her guard to make certain her toddler didn’t further act out his feelings *~~*~~*~~*~~* Having learned of such beasts as the Sehlet, often domesticated to her confusion, the bear-like animal had six-inch fangs. Or worse, the known predator called Le-matya, which bore poisonous claws. She worried Aaron would wander off someday and they would forever lose him in this almost hostile and alien world. She still just didn’t understand what it was Joseph found so enchanting about this place. Despite it all, Louise found a job in the Painters Career. She was something of a prodigy, herself, when it came to translating images to canvas. She painted to relax. The more she created, the better she felt, as if driven to express herself in this manner. The fact that her work was drawing notice was nice and it did help to keep her at the easel. When she wasn’t running after Aaron, that is. He was most certainly a handful, that boy, with his rather reckless desire for adventure. She was already making her mark on the Art world, having achieved the status of Proper Celebrity. She refused to let it go to her head, and instead decided the Paparazzi who hung around outside of their little dwelling, would be her first friends in this alien place. Busy taking care of her two children, in between dealing with Morning Sickness again, she soon realized they had been a bit on the capricious side when they ‘initiated’ their new home, shortly after moving in. What were they thinking? Faced with a third child under the age of four, she worried that the Daycare wasn’t being run as well as they promised. Often, Erik came home hangry with a wet diaper and exhausted. But, could they afford a nanny? This prompted her to produce more paintings which she sold to an Art Collector, which returned many more Simoleons that just selling it straight out. All for now. Thanks for reading! :)SolvedGalacticGal3 months agoSeasoned Ace576Views13likes51CommentsSimmer Tales🤷🏻🐕

So @NRowe started a discussion about exploring all of the game play in the Sims. @elanorbreton suggested going in alphabetical order and this gave me an idea for a legacy challenge. What if each generation represented a different letter of the alphabet, and is charged with completing all of the game play related to that letter. I'm going to start writing the rules here and update as I play through it. Overall Rules Ignore any objective related to a pack you don’t own. You can choose to skip a generation if your pack limitations leave it extremely short on content. No cheat codes that help you move through your objectives faster. Want to cheat a promotion? No go. Want to wear a toilet on your head? You do you. The only money cheat you are allowed to use is “freerealestate on” when you move the founding family in. No rules whatsoever about aging. No rules whatsoever governing non-heirs. Just because one generation has something as an objective, doesn’t mean that other generations aren’t allowed to do it. For example, Gen 2 (Letter b) is required to visit a Beach lot. That doesn’t mean the other generations can’t visit the beach just for fun. If you don’t have at least three traits in the assigned letter, you have to randomize the rest. You cannot accept self-discovery traits starting with a different letter. Each heir's name must begin with their assigned letter. If they own a pet, the pet's name must start with that letter too. Likes and Dislikes: The heir can only have the likes/dislikes assigned to their generation. Music preferences are assigned when the heir ages up to Child. Hobby preferences are assigned as they become available. Color preferences are assigned when they age up to Child. From that point forward, all the heir's outfits must prominently feature at least one of their favorite colors, and avoid the colors they dislike. If you decorate/redecorate a space for them you must consider their color preferences. Fashion and interior design preferences are assigned when they age up to teen. From that point forward, all of their outfits will prominently feature at least one of their preferred styles (to the extent possible-some styles might not have swimwear options for example). If you decorate/redecorate a space for them you must consider their interior design preferences. Lot Traits and Challenges: The heir must have all of their assigned lot challenges equipped in all of their designated residences. If the heir has three assigned lot traits or less, they also must be assigned to all of their designated residences. If the heir has four or more lot traits for their generation, they can change which three are in place when they switch to a different residence. The heir's transitional aspirations (the ones that decide the bonus traits) have to be aspirations from their generation. If they have more than two aspirations, you decide which two and which order. If they only have one aspiration, you can pick any aspiration to be the other one. You don't have to complete the other aspiration, just use it for the transition to get the bonus trait. If the generation has no aspirations, pick any two aspirations for the transitions. Some notes about how I alphabetize things: Gen Zero-The Founder's Parent(s) Gen 1-Letter A Gen 2-Letter B Gen 3-Letter C Infant- Calm or Cautious trait, try Crushed Carrots Toddler- Charmer or Clingy trait, Communication Skill Child- Creativity Skill, Creative Genius aspiration Teen-Chess, Cheer and Computer teams, Compassionate trait, Uncontrolled Emotions trait Final Traits- Pick Three: Cheerful, Childish, Clumsy, Creative, Cat Lover, Cringe Likes-Comedy, Cooking, Cross-stitch, Carnaval Beats, Classical, Cottagecore, Contemporary, Cosmolux, Cute, Country fashion Dislikes-None Teen+ Skills- Charisma, Comedy, Cooking, Cross-stitch Teen+ Aspirations-Championship Rider, Master Chef, Computer Whiz, City Native, Country Caretaker, Cure Seeker *Important Note about City Nave aspiration: Careers- Culinary, Critic, Civic Planner (Civil Designer), Covert Operator (Military) Collections-Crystals, City Posters Reside In-Courtyard Lane, Crumbling Isle, Cavalier Cove, Conifer Station Lot Traits and Challenges: Convivial, Chef’s Kitchen, Celebrity Home, Child’s Play, Cat Friendly, Cat Hangout; Cursed, Creepy Crawlies Visit-Café, Chalet Gardens, Central Park, Community Space Aspiration Rewards-Confident Potion, Cold Acclimation, Creative Visionary, Carefree, Connections. Own a Coffee maker, Christmas Tree, Cauldron, Cooler, Chess board, Card table, Celestial crystal crown and Campfire. Buys something from the Curio stall (Strangerville). You need to fix up an old house while raising your family at the same time and no making things too easy. Can live anywhere on any lot but you have to start in winter on long within the game definition, so long life 28 day seasons, start with a single sim or a couple. One in either situation must be a klepto, if cheating any traits just for fun parenting may only go to 2 and mischief to 4 or 5 makes it a little less dull but not really needed. you may only attempt twice every couple of days or once every day. Should you get caught you've lost that chance. You need a bathroom and to section up the house a bit with a basic floorplan that can be changed but come on not just a box with openings. you can also place things that would be more entertaining to try and steal, all must be done before you actually play though this is time for editing, the final cheat is to clear out any money you didn't use throwing together a wrecked-by-time "home". A single sim can get to know a love interest for a couple of days and look for collectibles only two travels a day and if you don't find anything no money. No jobs allowed, or high-paying hobbies, only collectiables can be used for money, with frogs both sims can get two for breeding but they are locked in whatever you find you need to keep and only the results of the breeding may be sold. While fixing up the house if the wallpaper is sold (seems to do that when adding a wall to a once halfway location) just put the exact wallpaper back to keep track of how much you really have, no easyouts. Speaking of capsules must be opened. If pets are preferred one child must be born to the parents and raised in full because you need more hands for frogs mmhmm. The first checkpoint is to last the Winter and see how far you get but if you have not completed the house you can continue it's not really a stressful thing just a road to follow. However, at most one sim year if you still haven't done it then that is a loss, just like any kids being taken away or unnatural deaths. I mean not sure if anyone wants to try but I'll be sharing what I'm doing, also it goes without saying if you fish up something particularly valuable then you must keep it in the family inventory. https://i.imgur.com/WgQiRE5h.png https://i.imgur.com/2XJjMffh.pngSolvedReddestiny9212 years agoSeasoned Hotshot323Views1like26Comments
