Functional counters and cabinets.
Please make the counters and cabinets functionally similar to storage boxes. And also make them link to the refrigerator so that when you need to use your ingredients, they will be available. That way you can store groceries in them. If you can’t link it to the refrigerator at least let us put things like flowers, crystal, and random inventory items in them.
I'm a be honest
I really would like a season camp EP think summer camp for Sims kids and tweens if/ when we get them however as the title states I'm a be honest I don't want the team that did EBN, HR, FR, HSY, LS and MWS I know they mean well and want to give simmers want they would like but facts are facts they be making buggy and limited packs and paying 40 dollars.... then we didn't get a livestream for gameplay made me nervous. I'm not trying to be mean or hurtful it's just simmers can't play their games.
Balance and Happiness - what's the diff?
I know "balance" is under the simology tab. But it just seems like basically another version of "happiness": meet your needs you're happy. Don't meet your needs: you become the not happy. Meet your needs, you're 'balanced'. Don't meet your needs: you become the not balanced. What's the point of a 'balanced' metric?
Idea (Technical): Upgrade Python version used in The Sims 4
The last time The Sims 4 got an upgrade to its Python implementation was in 2018 with version 1.47.49.1020 when it received a Python upgrade to version 3.7 from 3.3.5. Since then, we have gotten 6 major new versions of Python, technically 7 when Python 3.14 releases later this year. The developers of Python have added a lot of significant performance optimizations with these 7 versions, along with new and significant programming features that make programming in Python way easier. As The Sims 4 is likely going to stick around for the forseeable future, it would be nice if mod authors were empowered with a modern Python version that will allow them to make better and more powerful mods. And as The Sims 4 itself uses Python for a lot of its systems, the game would also benefit from being updated to a modern Python version, not to mention that Python 3.7 has been deemed end of life since June 2023. Bringing the Sims 4's Python version up-to-date would also bring the aforementioned significant performance optimizations to The Sims 4, which would align with The Sims Team's renewed focus on improving game performance. The biggest performance improvement that can be made, is running the game's Python scripts on a modern Python version. While it is true that this would break almost all mods, it would modernize The Sims 4's foundation, allowing for a next-generation of mods that will make the game even better and bring the game fully into 2025.[Suggestion] Aspiration Builder
A base game update that would bring infinite playability to the game is the ability to create custom aspirations. They could work similar to how creating your own holiday works in Seasons. You could name it, and select skills/tasks/etc. to complete for each level. With how many skills and jobs there are in the game, it feels repetitive to only be able to gain points through the same aspirations which may have nothing to do with those jobs or skills. I find myself playing the same things over and over just to get those points. For example, if I could make a Photography-based aspiration under Creativity to go with skills needed for the Photo Studio and tie it to leveling up the skill, selling photographs, taking pictures, etc.Need a "Disallow Fairies" option for door settings
Can we please get a "Disallow Fairies" option for front door settings just like we already have for Vampires, friends, neighbors, and solicitors? Frankly, I don't understand why Fairies randomly show up at homes uninvited in the first place. Why is that even a thing? Vampires, I get. They're looking to drink Sims blood. What would Fairies be going door-to-door for? Checking underneath pillows for children's teeth?Is Elsa Bjergsen a klepto?
I just noticed Elsa (mid conversation at the chess table) wander into the house, pick up a toy that was a baby shower reward that an infant had just stopped playing with, then walk back to the chess table and pocket the toy. Why do we not have any options to call NPCs out on this?Please stop FORCING the MISCHIEF skill
I have the mischief activity set to dislike on every SIM since I started playing the game because I literally hate it... in the game and in real life. Recently, EVERY SINGLE SIM has acquired the skill and uses it on all my other SIMs. I have even deleted Sims because they became too obnoxious to be around. Please disable this undocumented feature you have recently added to the game.
Plants not producing 10 harvestables
The plants grown on my sims lot (this isn't happening with wild plants) aren't producing ten haverestables. I haven't played with gardening for a while and I'm gardening with seasons for the first time so maybe it's a seasons thing, but when I had gardened in the past I'd always get ten plants so I don't know what's going on. My apologies if this was intentional and I didn't realise.
EA do better
Ok, this might not be a popular discussion, but I need to get this off my chest. Fairies?! Fairies?! What the...? I have been playing The Sims since its inception. That's over 25 years. I am a 63-year-old woman that absolutely loves the game. I'm a writer, and I love to put my books into play with The Sims. I play Sims 4 exclusively. Since the game has come out in 2014, there is one thing we as simmers have been pleading for, and you know what that is, EA. CARS. Sims 2 had cars. It had cars that sims could get inside of (not drive around in, we understood why), even the glitchy, open world Sims 3 had cars. Then the Sims 4.......................... Nothing! So, I expected with this announcement of a new EP, finally EA would give us cars. Nope! Fairies! We could've had an EP called.... Called Sims "On The Road". It could've had cars, and RV's. RV's or Caravans to those in the UK. We could maybe build them. RV's to go to that camping place no one actually goes to. Cruise ships, and resorts, and dare I go out on a limb and say airplanes, trains, and buses. So much could've been done with that idea. But no. We got fairies. The next EP they'll announce will be some stupid mess like... The Sims Underground. Like they live under the **bleep** ground like moles. I understand why so many Sims 4 players have gone back to Sims 2. Plus, the updates every two seconds. I mean, come on! I have a freakin' computer in my hand called a cell phone, and you're telling me you can't make an update that doesn't break every mod ever made for The Sims 4? Seriously! EA, Cars! Cars! Just give us the cars we've wanted for 11 years! Make an EP worthy of the 40–50-dollar price tag you want to charge. Because I swear if I hear that another EP is coming out (that you said you wouldn't come out with. Yeah, remember that announcement?) that deals with some stupid mess like trolls, or underground moles stuff, or Sims in Space (please don't, Batuu was bad enough), Sims 2, here I come. Or maybe I'll see what Inzoi is all about. Don't ignore the loyal players EA, is what I'm saying. That's my rant. Sorry, not sorry. Do better EA!
Ailments are out of control even when everything is turned off.
Ailments are out of control even when I have all the options in the settings off. We really need an option to actually turn them COMPLETELY OFF please! Is ruining all my saves all my sims keep getting sick all the time non stop. I haven't been able to properly play and enjoy the game because of this. Please please give us an option to completely turn it off! I just wanna play sims 4 and have fun and this has really been a nightmare. I play on PC, No Mods, No CCI would like to say, "Thank you..."
Or rather, my sims would. Just a little common courtesy would be nice for when my Sims receive gifts, deliveries, or compliments. There are so many ways to be rude, mean, or cruel in this game, can we at least get a simple, "thank you" option as a response to receiving gifts? Bonus if it were coded to actually impact the game, but I would settle for just knowing not all my sims are ungrateful brats. Thank you.
Simstagram suggestion
Everyone knows that Get Famous had lots of lost opportunities but they subtly tried to bring the social media fame side to the game with livestreams and Simstagram, even if its really shallow. And after seeing social media apps like Social Bunny, Trendi and Cupid's Corner, it made me feel like we really lost something bigger with Simstagram in Get Famous. But given that Simstagram is a base game feature why not update it? My suggestion is: • Create a Simstagram app for phones. Imagining that it would need limitations like the other apps it could work as our own public gallery, so we could only see our own profile and see the interactions from other sims in it (like Social Bunny). Some gameplay ideas: - Post photos, earn likes and comments (+fame); - Receive messages (the calls for invitation, advice, congratulations, etc. would turn into messages that we can answer later); - Post stories about: Review, advertising, dance/makeup challenge, diss/compliment someone (influencing their reputation and our relationship with its person) (+fame).Sims 4 most buggy game ever
I started playing Sims 4 several months ago and am so frustrated with how many bugs there are. It makes playing the game without using cheats almost impossible. I have only packs released from EA on my laptop. I need to restart the game multiple times a day, clear cache, and repair at least once a day. If I were EA I would be embarrassed to release a game that is so fraught with bugs. Instead of releasing new content, perhaps they would be better served if the FIXED all the bugs already in the game. I would try to list them here, but it would take a book to do. FIX YOUR SLOPPY CODE EA BEFORE releasing more content. Not sure how much I will play anymore, and I sure won't be buying any new packs/expansions as they seem to make the game even more buggy than it already is.
NPCs cannot bypass gender-restricted doors if they are the opposite gender
While working on a mod, I've encountered an issue with the gender-restricted doors. It's not possible for NPCs to bypass the gender restriction if they are the opposite gender under any circumstances. This can cause issues if a service NPC needs to get through for any reason (and is complicating my mod where I need them to be able to do so if necessary). For example, if a fire breaks out in the room behind the door and the firefighters are all the opposite gender to the door, then they will just stand around and be unable to put out the fire. Or if an NPC needs to get into the room to clean or repair something, this will simply fail because they can't route to it. Even the burglar is stopped in their tracks by the power of these doors. Looking at the tuning, there's a way to specify certain buffs that allow Sims that have them to override the lock setting. This is set for the Burglar and Firefighter situations, but this function can only override a PLAYER_LOCK. The code is actually completely useless for these specific doors since the player cannot modify lock settings on them, and the gender restriction is implemented as a SYSTEM_LOCK. I tried playing around with the buff functionality, but could not get it to override a SYSTEM_LOCK. Affected doors: Dressed Up Facilities Door (Base Game) Suited Up Facilities Door (Base Game) They Said He Door (Spa Day) They Said She Door (Spa Day)
Some EnB (including Cross-Pack Compatibility) Suggestions
Without any major overhauls (hopefully), here are some suggestions to tweak EnB, as well as EnB with other packs. I don't think these are asking too much, they are probably even possible for modders to make. EbN Suggestions: Select Sim to choose "Sleep Preference" (similar to utensil preference), so Sims with Natural Living Skill can choose to "always sleep on ground" or sleep on ground when there is nowhere else to sleep. If emotions are absorbed by a friend (or higher) no relationship loss. "Harvest All" works with Aura Blossom, Lightning Root (if possible) and Moody Shrub. "Forage for Apothecary Ingredients" should not contain non-Apothecary Ingredients (I keep getting apples) Remove "computer required" daily tasks from this career, we are in a Natural Living EP, having a computer on lot defeats the purpose.... Other Cross-Pack Suggestions with EnB: Cauldrons or Apothecary Table can both craft/brew Potions/Cures (Realm of Magic) Apothecary Table can also hold Alchemy Ingredients (Realm of Magic) Apothecary Table can both craft/brew Remedies/Cures (Outdoor Retreat) Apothecary Table can also hold Herbalism Ingredients (Outdoor Retreat) Copypasto works on Apothecary ingredients/cures (Realm of Magic) New Lifestyles to better reflect magical (or occults), crafting and/or fable completing lifestyles (Snowy Escape) Moonstone effects Fairies respectively (Crystal Creations) Fairy specific Nectary, also mentioned here by another Simmer (Horse Ranch) Insects added to World, well all worlds preferably (Outdoor Retreat) Feel free to add your suggestions as well.
dance pack idea
So here's an idea for a new expansion pack that I have probably put too much thought into, but a pack including all dancing related things like Ballet, Irish step dancing and hip hop/break dancing with multiple routines and the sim could possibly get like negative Moodlit if they don't stretch before they dance or one if they fail a move. For example: An uncomfortable one would be like 'twisted an ankle ouch'!. The pack could also in could a France inspired world and how we got with the "dance" skill in the Get Together pack instead of like something we could place down, it could be like unlocking different shoes and outfits like for the ballet skill it could be like one they reach level 8 they could unlock pointer shoes and the pack could be call something like Dancing Life and the symbol could be ballet shoes. 🩰
