How do you check the rank of dynasties?
In a game where building Prestige and where dynasties competes in many ways, I would expect an easy way to see how the dynasties rank. I found no such thing, but I might have missed something? Now that I need a full rank of my dynasties, I see no other way than to visit each and every household. Isn't there some easier way? We get the fine list of nobles in the world map, which is a nice tool, so why can't the game alsop provide a list of all dynasties? It knows each dynasty's prestige score, so why not share it in a common list covering all dynasties of a save? What do I miss? Love this pack, but this detail confuzzles me a bit. Shuld be pretty easy to include, so why did they not? How do you keep track on what dynasties have the better (and worse) prestige in your game? And, what effect do a dynasty's prestige actually have, beyond buying perks? When Ermelinda meets Cordelia, will she know whether the Abrantes dynasty's prestige is better or worse than the Thebe dynasty's prestige?
Grand Ball, Anyone?
Both of Erik Cantrell's parents are working their way up, ever so slowly it seems, in the Noble Career. Both had to attend a Grand Ball, and since they are new in Bellecorde, Sir Joseph, Cantrell, Sr., decided to throw one. What a night. Getting everybody together to dance (and who knows what happened to those invited). By trial and error, I finally got the Grand Waltz started. Then a terrible thing happened. The game froze. They only way out was to get into Task Manager and stop Sims 4. Sadly, when I got back into my game, I was right back where I started. But that's okay. I learned a lot in the meantime. I went through the early morning with my Sims. Erik had two gigs, a concert and a photoshoot, then he took Kayleigh out. He needed to talk to her about his current status, and it has nothing to do with the fact he's now a Global Superstar. Trying to get that girl to stay in her chair and truly talk to him is another story. The entire family was at home when the message came to go to the venue; the Grand Ball was soon to start. Got the six of them to the venue. (Adrian is just an infant, too young to stand, let alone waltz; his time will come). Erik had to get on his phone and bring Kayleigh and both of her parents (who had been invited when the event was setup to hang out of the present lot). Why doesn't that ever work right? The only invited guest who arrived was Sir Joseph's only sister, Alexandra who had jumped into the monarch's position. The heart of why she now despises her older brother. At any rate, between Joseph, Erik and Louise, some rough spots with Joseph's siblings have finally been eased. Right now, he's sibling non grata as they despise his return home. Smooth apologies were handed out to Reginald and Alexandra, at least. James finally did show up after Erik called him. But I believe he meandered off the lot in a foul mood. I fought for, and by some mishap of nature, managed to pull off a gold event. Whew! Fun, but for me a lot of work. So how many of you have thrown a Grand Ball, and how did it work out for you?
What do you do with clones?
My scientist sim Francine Walker just made a clone of herself since it was a job task for her day, I didn't realise the clone would be added to the household. So now there's Kate Walker, who is identical in every way, is seen as her sister but also a clone (it's fun they have some unique interactions like a mirror game) who does not have her job but does have all her skills, and was brought home to the city apartment where Francine lives with three childhood friends she reconnected with after college. (That's the premise I went with for them at least.) First thing I did was change the colouring of her tops and full outfits just a little, to more easily tell them apart, it's funny that when I planned to have Francine go trim her bonsai tree, Kate was already doing that and the first thing they both did after getting home was clean the kitchen counter. Both are neat loner perfectionists. When everyone else was sleeping, and Kate was still awake since she's only been alive half a day and was created with full motives, I had her write down a bucket list of goals to get an idea what direction to take her. Just random goals. The results are that she wants to make the greatest dish ever, wants to sneak into the tiger sanctuary in Tomarang, wants to clean 20 things (which Franchine has had for a random bucket list goal too and already completed) and spend some time in a park. I suppose she could go into a culinairy career, but maybe I'll just have her focus on mastering cooking first and maybe see a bit more how she might grow different from Francine. Like her traits changing or such. I'll just accept all suggested trait changes for her and might have her change her appearance more drastically to match, become more of her own person. So what have you all done with clones?
Ladipo’s family… expanded?
Okay Simmers… Ayo Ladipo invited my sim to come over the other day and my sim went. Once there I met Flora and a toddler named Drake that I played with…. AND, Later when I was snooping, a baby that was in a bassinet beside the blue bed. The toddler was sleeping on a chair and Flora and Ayo slept in separate bedrooms… so…what the what?! Are they raising Iris’s babies and living in separate rooms? Did they have two more kids? Adopt some? I feel like their was a survey recently on which townies you want to know more about and I like “psssh none”… but now… now I want to know who these kids were in their home. Are the NPC’s having more babies? has AI gone wild, lol. Are they just living their own lives without anyone playing them. What’s going on here?! I wish I could find that survey again, lol. And, I think I’m going to build buy to give that poor toddler a bed so it doesn’t have to sleep on a chair anymore, lol. BTW, whoever decorated that NPC’s house at EA… great job! That’s the best build I’ve ever seen so far! Also, why is Drake the toddler texting me in game? Lol. Is he really a toddler? Can we fix toddlers making phone calls and sending text lol… They’re alive….Blue blood
How will you relate to the new blue blood trait? It seems to be given to newborns born into nobility. I must admit it turns out I got this phrase wrong all my life thinking that blue blood was about royalty only. Now I looked it up and it can be used by anyone born into nobility/aristocracy/society. So it won't be restricted to my royals. It might equal to my existing system of seeing anyone born into a House as member of Aristocracy. Not much info about this in game yet, but I think the game will assign this blue blood trait to all babies born to someone in the Nobility career. I don't know anything about benefits/disadvantages from this trait, but it might connect to the scandal system, or perhaps even more to marriage - most blue blood sims are probably expected to find a spouse with blue blood - or cause a scandal. Another question is whether noble children not joining the Nobility career will keep their blue blood trait. Maybe the trait was needed to keep track on those sims that are not in the career? They should still be "blue blood", and suitable spouses etc. During my RL research I found that the "blue blood" origins from Spain in 1811. It likely referred to pale skin where the veins are easier to spot. On a side note, they had not only blue blood: "The nobility of Valencia are, by themselves, divided into three classes, blue blood, red blood, and yellow blood. Blue blood is confined to families who have been made grandees." -- The Annual Register Today I think it has a broader meaning as society is more mixed. Hm, not even sure if blue blood is still used by others than glossy magazines? I think I will use the new Blue blood trait as a way to see nobility from commoners, but for marriages I don't think a king's daughter should ever marry someone on level 1 of the Nobility career. So I might be more strict than the game suggests. Also, while I see powerful persons in my game (like the Prime Minister) as member of Aristocracy, they are not of blue blood.Sim Lore Discord Q&A Wednesday Jan 7

Just for grins and giggles, I decided to go through my updates and count just how many times a fire has broken out at Erik Cantrell's home. I made a list: Cantrell: The Early Years, Part Six "Celebration Gone Awry" Update-1 Cantrell: The Middle Years, Part One" "But the Naturopath Said . . ." Update-12 "Balancing Act" Update-14 "Stuck On the Dark Side of the Moon" Update-16 Cantrell: The Middle Years, Part Two "When the Year Ends With a Bang" Update-1 "Putting on a Brave Face" Update-3 "Under Fire" Update- 8 (This is a twofer, as in two fires in the same update. Yikes) I haven't written up the next update, but yeah, it's got a fire in it, too. I think my Erik Cantrell family is having a serious streak of bad luck, wouldn't you? Please list a count of how many fires your main Sim family has encountered. It's okay if you don't list any titled updates, I'm aware not everybody shares a story. I just want to know I'm not alone in this. Merry Christmas! Oh, and if you wish to add pictures, be my guest. I just don't have time at the moment to look mine up. SIMS4 PC Playing history GONE!
I logged in to find the last two years worth of playing has vanished! I get to the main menu, and it only lets me play "scenario" or create a sim. I spoke to the chat team and did EVERY trouble - shooting step. ( i did every step over 3 times! - My pc has not changed. I deleted the app, reinstalled , repaired.. Did their " file change suggestion" and still all my history from the last 2 years is gone! - Nothing has changed, no firewalls etc. I can see all my add on packs etc. However, it will not load or show any previous game play. The rental houses are not there. The household is not there to play. It has all just vanished...... Has anyone had this happen to them????

The Sims 4 & AI
Hi, I'm CBTucker. I'm a new YouTube creator. https://www.youtube.com/@cindytucker1970 I use my real art in AI to create music videos. I consider creating in The Sims an art form. Am I allowed to use images from this game in an AI-generated video? I asked YouTube's AI, but it couldn't provide guidance on that. I want to ensure that I'm not breaking any rules, as this AI technology is still very new. I want to make sure I understand my rights and responsibilities. If your Sim is up for a Starlight Accolade, and you forget that when your Sims' son needed a microphone for an announcement right after he placed his Tile on the Avenue of Stars . . . it's a good idea to remove that extra microphone before you leave the lot. My Sim was sitting in chairs awaiting the start of the show, yet he and his wife were the only ones in the third-floor studio, when the notice popped up that another Sim had won an award. 😮 Say, what? Nobody's here. All I could think of was, which new mod or piece of cc is interfering, now? I decided to exit without saving, the only rational thing to do, when on my way to the ground floor, I stopped to remove the microphone the other star was standing before receiving her award. That's when it hit me. It's a little like having more than one wedding arch on the same lot. IT MALFUNCTIONS. So, just keep in mind if you play Get Famous, not to leave another microphone on a different portion of the same lot. You can have two, so long as they're both on the stage. There, I have done my good deed for the day, Carry on . . .Skilled sims are problematic?(ones saved in gallery)
long ago (january 2023) i started to play sims 4.Before i played not sure which sims somewhere 2006. to the 2024 i had almost 10 generations and it was a mess. Then somewhere middle 2024 i screwed up my save with [Edit - CM]. then i started again amd made a mess with 8 sims gamily and started again from zero. then i deleted original sims and tried to make similar to originals( in pic) and then i made my sims pretty skilled and again didnt liked how family went lol. and since i play with sims who are skilled i keep catch weitd bugs even if game itself isnt laggy or so. any opinions on if i should make very news ones or current ones are fine?those on pic are best i made lolFan-Made Survey of Sims 4 Wishes & Dreams

Okay, so I was just updating my sims legacy note book to add in my information from my gameplay but I’ve just realised most (if not all) of my sims partners are really one dimensional. I always find myself focusing on just one partners family rather than both or don’t focus on my sims partners storylines (unless it related to their relationship). don’t get me wrong, some generations I have been able to focus on both, but 90% of the time they don’t have anything going on 😂😭
