Thoughts on the most recent survey
So I took the survey a few days ago and it was very exciting, lots of different ideas and themes. There were a few where I wondered if it was a spinoff Sims Medieval type situation, because I wasn’t sure how it fit in the Sims 4 as it is now. At the same time, if they are for the main game perhaps that would involve expansion of game lore (The worlds being broken because of Spellcasters) , or just being thrown in like Batuu and kind of not having any real affect on the main worlds. But I was thinking about the option that was reported on Sims Community, about Create a World/Neighborhood. And I started wondering how that would look in ts4. I played with it a bit in ts3, and when I tried ts2 you got to edit which neighborhoods you had etc. But I was thinking, what would the tool be like in ts4? Something where you get various world bases to choose from and can choose lot sizes? Could you add hidden worlds and edit them? Could you make something like The Realm of Magic through a portal? Or the Sylvan Glade and just have hidden lots? Would there be like presets so you could do it easily, but also options for modders, and people who want to use their work? How many worlds can you create per save and would you be able to save them to download in other saves, upload to the gallery/elsewhere? I won’t lie to you, I was mostly focused on Van life and them finally adding more tiny living aspects that weren’t in the stuff pack. Can’t even have wheeled foundations rn. And the royalty pack was interesting. I was thinking about Fairies not being on the list, and how they have been teased forever, so maybe they’re coming sooner and what they might be like. Their world would be interesting. As well as, the mention of finally having an underwater world. And I was reminded of this survey and the create a world option. It’d be something if you could make a better Alien world, or more underwater worlds. Maybe populate it with just mermaids. Heck maybe you could make the planet of Tides/ Andros from Winx with a vast underwater area and a few bits of land above for the air breathers. My survey didn’t have this option but I think it might be one of the most interesting. My ranking of the ones I voted on: 1. Van life, better elders- already explained 2. Royals- for the fun 3. Underwater- but only bc underwater world finally, I knew it wouldn’t be about fixing mermaids . Plus houseboats yay more forms of housing 4. 80s- totally awesome , baby-sitter’s club here I come 5. Summer camp -super cute 6. Cyberpunk- ok myb you can have cyborg kids and androids now, dark into the future 7. Criminal- ok 8. Post-apocalyptic- not my cup of tea. spinoff myb? 9. Jurassic Park- this was one of the ones I thought was myb a spinoff
How Are Maxis Curated Items Selected Now?
Hi all 💜 For years now, I've been an avid supporter of the Maxis Fav Nomination process. I would regularly visit the forum nomination threads to recommend the talented creativity I would see week after week in the gallery. I enjoyed putting things forward for the curation reviewers and was honored when some of my nominations got selected. It seems, in these past several months approximately, that the promoted ways to share nominations are possibly not getting considered. At least, I haven't found any rhyme or reason as to how items are getting curated lately. I and others have tried on Twitter X, on the official Sims Discord server and I did even find the migrated forum threads so I've recently tried there too. Will you please explain the future of Maxis Curated Content and how to officially nominate the creations of others? I also recommend starting new threads for households, rooms and lots. It's a fresh, new forums so let's freshen up the Maxis Curation Process please. Thanks for reading and considering! 💜
Boolprop - Traditional Forums Sims Community
Hopefully I am not breaking the rules by posting this, but I would just like to invite everyone who would prefer a more traditional forums to joinhttp://www.boolprop.net. It has a section for stories and challenges. It is more active than the MTS forums, although it is not nearly as active as it was in its heydey. This is the second version of the site. The first site was created way back in 2005. I hope some of you will join and revitalize the traditional forums style of discussing our favorite game! :)
So Random, But So Good! A GLITCH TURNED INTO A STORYLINE
So yes! I'm five years behind playing Strangerville. This year alone, is when I really started added the packs. Simply because I had to start playing with my ps4 because my custom computer finally crashed. It did me justice. Moment of silence. Any whoooo, Yesterday, I decided to play with Strangerville. It's getting closer to spooky season lol. Well, I developed a whole story line where the female is the protagonist and lives off into the sunset. Oh, how the tides have turned. You see, I designed the perfect college student. She would go off to Britchester, major in psychology and become a professor. Now over the time of creating her, studying with her, making friends and forming her own little style....I became truly invested in her. My fav so far, and that says a lot. During her college years, she became heavily dedicated to wellness. So much so, she stayed at the spas on her free time. To the point I changed her aspiration to wellness. Then she began to teach classes, maintain her zen, and had the shape for clothes that not ANY of my other sims could pull off. She's a chef's kiss. One night at a party, she meets a guy, likes the guy, and a relationship blossomed. He showed up to her graduation and took her on a vacation as a grad present. After she started establishing herself with her career, she was finally able to have a nice nest egg. She was getting promotions left and right. She didn't have an issue with her man's job, but didn't see how it could coincide with her timeline of living on a tropical island. You see, he was in the military career. And without a college education, she felt he would take longer than she had hoped for. She already knew guys that where in the fortune 500 league by now. So this was a gamble for her, but she did love him. HERE'S THE TWIST! Yes, he was in the military career but he was practically a ghost. Meaning he came in, settled situations, and vanished. He owned homes in three locations and Sulani was one of them. So when he decided to take her again...he wanted to propose. He hated lying to her but it was inevitable. So while on their romantic weekend, he set up a studio at the house so she could teach yoga classes. She was so amazed. And when she wasn't doing that, she showed him just how thankful she was. But after returning home she began to feel sick and couldn't hold anything down. She was pregnant! What was she going to do? She was at the pinnacle of her career and yoga was her baby. After some thought she told her lover the news. He was quiet, almost solemn but came around fast. So much so, he married her before she started to show and threw a baby shower not to long after that. Only thing that was eating him up inside was the fact of the huge mission in Strangerville that he just got assigned to. You see, none of the personnel knew his ghost persona so he would have to ride the ranks just like everyone else. Which didn't bother him...that was light work. What wasn't lightwork was now having two weaknesses if things went South. His wife and child. If they were caught up in this, he wouldn't make it through. Several months later, he and his lovely wife were settled into Strangerville. They purchased a nice fix her upper and she only had to travel to Britchester once a week. What she didn't know...he picked this house for a reason. While she traveled to give lectures, he was busy making a bunker during his down time. It was complete with two bedrooms, a kitchen, living room, small dining room and bathroom. A whole house on the bottom. And room for their future baby to be quite comfy when the time came. But as the pregnancy went on she became more tense, irritated, and mean. He thought that it was the pregnancy and not having time to slow down since college. But she assured him that she was very content on how things were moving, but she didn't act like it. A couple months later a beautiful baby girl was added to the family. And you could tell she was the apple of her father's eye. Of course her mom loved her but she was quite distant. It didn't help that one week before her delivery, he had to tell her about the bunker and orders had came down that Strangerville was about to get shook on it's head. Weirdly, she didn't seem fearful or anxious, almost relieved. That reaction made him feel relieved but a little suspicious. So he had taken wire taps and bugged her conversations a couple of times. Neither findings made no sense. Both talked about money and not to worry where it came from and who it would hurt. These words coming out of his wife's mouth! Now more than ever he was ready to begin and end this mission so he could finally know what was up with his wife. As you can imagine the day of going out into the field was heavy tension. She didn't kiss him, assure him, nor act like it was bothering her. This was not the woman he married. But what did give him strength was spending the day with his sweet little girl. He fed her, gave her a bath, played tummy time, read her a book, and she silently fell asleep on his chest. In the doorway his wife looked on like it was just another day. While he was out getting intel, he noticed people acting weird, not able to talk coherently, moving their limbs in ways they were not to be moved. He broke protocol and dashed home. He burst through the door and noticed little spores glistening and floating through the house. He called out for his wife, his child...no response. Sweating profusely he ran down into the bunker...empty. Leaping three steps at a time, he made it back up to the top of the stairs and heard a faint noise. A noise he knew all to well....a sound of relaxation. He barged open the bathroom door and there lie his wife, soaking in a warm lavender bath. "Where's the baby?!" She looked slowly up at him as if he was out of line. "Why aren't you guys in the bunker?!" She simply said, "What for?" He demanded that she tell him where his baby was. All of a sudden he heard a faint cry. NOW THIS IS WHERE THE SIMS 4 GLITCH COMES IN BUT WORKED SO PERFECTLY TO MY STORYLINE. AS I DIDN'T KNOW THIS WAS A THING. I scanned the cursor on the baby's picture and she was all the way down the street with pink pores surrounding her as she screamed inhumanely. Her needs were all drained and she was sweltering! I put the game in first person mode and had dad run as fast as he could to his daughter. He picked her up and cradled her to his chest. You could hear his harsh breathing all the while passing weird strange people. Smiling wildly, flailing back and forth with no inhibitions about anything. Could they hurt you? Have they touched his child? He rushed down into the bunker; fed her, gave her a bath, soothed and comforted her until she fell asleep in daddy's arms. All the while, Mom is preparing herself something to eat. WHAT DO YOU MAKE OF THIS? THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO TELL IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HEAR IT. TRUST ME, IT'S GOOD! MY NAME IS NIKKI AND I LOVE THE SIMS AND I THINK IT'S ABOUT TIME TO SHARE MY STORYTELLING🥰
When the Game Changes Your Plotline . . .
As some of you may know, one of the reasons I decided to take my Cantrell Family into the Way Back Machine, as it were, was to allow Erik to find himself and his Soulmate via Lovestruck. I did add Kayleigh and her nuclear family into my game. I had a nice little situation setup, which played out for the most part the way I intended, but as I have just entered Part Two of the Cantrell: The Early Years saga, rather than allow Erik as a teen start exploring his options, these two have picked up, basically where they left off. 😲 This time they are amazingly suited to each other. Guess I picked their turns on and offs too well. LOL (I advise caution for those who haven't yet explored this pack.) I have a sick feeling that if Erik tries to date anybody else this could cause him more grief than he had in Sims3. So, it should be interesting from here on out, as I have lost control, one. more. time. Oh, these silly Sims and their advanced AI. I did clear both of these Sims from their marriages, before any of you ask so that can't be it.Blind Date Confusion?
I decided to play another Sim in my story, that hasn't been tested, previously. Oh, he's mentioned but I wanted to give a little bit of background for him. Plus, I'm also testing the house I built at the same time. I took the elderly gent out to a bar just to explore this new pack a bit. He didn't have a great deal of luck, so I decided I would send him on a blind date. Thing is, I thought I recognized the NPC Sim who was to be his date, but when he got to the restaurant chosen, I didn't see her. I had another look, and decided another Sim that was there must be his date. So, I had him chat with her. Nothing was fulfilling the goals, however. Then Ms. Mia showed up, late, and when he started chatting, suddenly the meter was going on the goals. LOL Thing is, he had a spark with Jaycee. I decided to try again. This time, he was at the Ho-Down? lounge in Crescent Ridge. Suddenly Joseph Cantrell was there, too. These two are related, but MCCC would only allow me to make the elder his father, when in fact he's Joseph's grand Uncle (brother of his grandfather). In all the time I wasted, the date was a failure. Face/palm. When next I play with the elderly and the first Joseph Allistair Cantrell, I shall try not to be distracted by the appearance of the younger Joseph. Boy, I certainly wasn't expecting that. To my knowledge, they aren't even int he same save, I didn't think. Wow. Now, I'm going to have to go back and double-check. Freakiness."I Don't Think That's A Good Idea"
For those who have been reading my Cantrell: The Early Years story, you'll know that the eldest child, Aaron, was upset with every sibling his parents gave him. "No more attention for me" syndrome. It's Thanksgiving Day in my game and after their Traditional Grand Meal the three boys went off to the Park. Just after they arrived, Aaron got a phone call from their mother. She was busy telling him they were thinking about having another baby and what did he think about the idea? Odd that the parents would choose now to consult him. Had they done so the other three times, he may not be quite so miserable now, right? LOL Is this a coincidence, or does the game know Aaron would be far happier were he an only child? What things have happened in your game that seem as if the AI is guiding events, based on your Sims' personalities?
Happy 51st anniversary of hip hop music
Today hip hop music turns 51 today. It's been a long decade since it's has become a popular music genre throughout the whole history. Here we go, y'all! We got Lewinsky partying up in here in the backyard house party. 📻💲🕶️🎵 Also, it's been years since hip hop station recently came to The Sims 4, and my favorite Simlish-language hip hop songs are Litest by Supreme Madness, Be Somebody by Thutmose, and BONG by OG BOBBY.
Bug lancement jeu The Sims 4
Hello tout le monde!!!! J'ai un souci avec mon jeu The Sims 4, a chaque fois que j’essaie de le lancer un message m'indique "fichier introuvable" et par la suite ont me propose de le réparer, c'est embêtant à la longue. Hi everyone, I recently found a build on TikTok but no one seems to know the name of the build or the creator. I assume it's made by Maxis themselves because it was on one of the trailer slides on the Steam page (The Build) based on a reverse image search that I did. Does anyone know what's the name on the Gallery? Anything can help.
Set divine drink for Vampires?
With the Vampire pack occasionally vampires take a preference towards drinking from a specific sim. This gives them the divine drink moodlet. I have seen it in my game and in let's plays. It is also mentions on Carl's website here Does anyone know how to set this preference on purpose? With a cheat or MCCC. Right now I don't know if there is a specific trigger or way to achieve this. It is something that is permanent right?Playing god (in my gameplay)
I started a new save on a new pc where I play as one single sim, and she goes to work and does her whole thing, she has a ton of friends and goes to events with them and has fun, but I have orchestrated the unplayed households in worlds around to be filled with drama and chaos. It's satisfying. I get notifications about all the happenings courteous of mccc, and so I really do feel like I'm playing god. I'm having way more fun playing this way, focusing on unplayed households and building up the life of one sim, than I had playing with full households! I haven't been here too much since the switchover. As everyone else, the profile picture - I cannot stand it, it is killing me. I don't understand how to get the ability to choose my own - what does helping people with their comments even mean? Anyway, I'm glad to be back - oh this is fujicakes1, just fyi!Direction Of The Sims Franchise
Dear Sims Community, I feel compelled to share my thoughts and experiences with The Sims 4, given my long-standing dedication to the franchise. Like many of you, I have been an avid fan since The Sims Bustin' Out and have faithfully purchased every DLC released since the launch of The Sims 4. However, despite my unwavering support, I have grown increasingly frustrated and disappointed with the current state of the game. Persistent bugs and issues have plagued The Sims 4 for years, particularly with DLC packs that remain unfixed long after their release. This ongoing problem severely impacts gameplay and makes it challenging to enjoy the game as it was advertised. It is disheartening to see EA continuously push out new DLCs without addressing these long-standing issues or providing clear communication about the steps being taken to resolve them. As dedicated players and supporters, we expect a certain level of quality and transparency, which The Sims 4 has consistently failed to deliver. Despite numerous updates and patches, core gameplay issues persist, making the game less enjoyable and often unplayable. This approach undermines the trust and loyalty of the community and tarnishes the legacy of a beloved franchise. I urge EA to prioritize fixing these enduring issues and to communicate more openly with us about their plans to improve the game. As a community, we deserve a game that lives up to the high standards and rich history of The Sims.For All Those Having Issues After the Patch . . .
I wanted to share what has helped me in the past. I have learned to do a Game Repair after a patch. This can help. Also, if you've backed up the game you're trying to play with the patch and the new EP, take a COPY of your backed up saves folder and swap it for the one in your game. These two tips have saved my game. I used to the Queen of Restarts, too. This saved me from having to start over more than a few times, now. My current restart was simply to help redefine my known characters (Sims) and to approach Erik's stardom from another level. I do hope you find these tips useful to you. The Sweetheart's Box Issues?
Hi! I got Lovestruck and absolutely adore the the candy box animations. It might be the most wholesome thing I've seen in a while and I've been using it a lot 😍 It doesn't seem to be working right with new aspiration though. In my game, Don Lothario has definitely done the "share a snack" interaction (not sure if it is that in English, my game is in Finnish) more than 2 times with Nina (and Katrina... and Dina... and Summer and... oh dear 😳) but the goal doesn't check into yellow. I've clicked on his date(s) (yeah yeah, Don, we see you...) and the box and neither way ticks it. Has anyone else experienced this?
