Unstoppable "Always on the move - View lessons" notification!
Hi everyone, is anyone else experiencing this or having problems with notifications? I’m having an issue with my game. Even without any CC or Mods, I keep getting the "Always on the move - View lessons" notification nonstop. What’s going on?? I can’t even play because it’s so distracting! Cemetery keeper - function?
I noticed there is a cemetery keeper, but that it is not always the same sim. I think the current sim is one older NPC though, so I assume the game did not create them all new for this pack. Anyone know how they are picked and what is their function? In a way I would rather see a non-played Undertaker at work at a cemetery. Then they would make perfect sense, both who they are and why they are there. I've not yet seen the keeper performing any particular job, but I've not yet played a funeral.

Hi peeps, What do you think of the Life & Death cemetery lots and how many have you added to your game? At the moment I only have them in about three different worlds, but each time one of my beloved sims dies I really feel like they should be buried in their home town. I'm seriously thinking of adding one in every world that is bigger than about 4 lots lol (so, not Glimmerbrook, Forgotten Hollow etc). Do you think that's overkill? What are you all doing with your graves and urns?

Um sir? How DARE he! Genesis is Derek's wife and the mother of his children! Who is this guy? What is this game??? I just looked he's some random elder that Derek came across once in passing who never even met Genesis. If some random event like this is going to happen, can they at least make it make sense and have the Sim that's talking trash at least have met the Sim they are trashing on? This game makes no sense but that's what makes it fun. XD
How deadly is the crow?
I find my crow is very often off to debate with other crows, and I kind of expect that this is also leading up to an attack if crow is not well enough tended to. How likely is the attack to happen? Will it always cause death? Will there be a warning? The Teardrop Cottage had me freaked out as I did not know they had a crow "hidden" on the lot. When I found it it was not vey happy, LOL. Is it ok to check a crow only once per day?No desire to play
I am at the point where I have lost my desire to play the Sims 4. I open the game and I decorate a house or create a Sim but that is it. I play with that Sim for a few moments. I ask them to do something and they stand there and stand there until the interaction disappears. I ask them to do the same interation and its the same response. This sucks because I have been a Sims player for over 20 years. I owned every expansion pack for each of the Sims from Sims 1 to present. Not sure what to do.
Looking to purchase some packs, need some reccommendations
TLDR: looking for well thought out opinions on some of the more recent packs. This question is aimed at people who own some of the packs already because I want to hear your thoughts on why or why not you would recommend it. I'm a long time sims player and I like to reward myself with a pack or two every once in a while (usually when I accomplish something really difficult) so I've amassed several of the packs. It's time for a reward so I'm trying to figure out what I want. I haven't really been paying attention to the new releases so I'm not sure what to try next before the Black Friday sale. So please help by telling me your faves. My playstyle revolves around building and rotational play. I have a few worlds where I've almost rebuilt everything in the save file and created complex multigenerational family trees. I am in my cottagecore era so lately my sims usually find themselves running a farm or a bakery. I like family play but I also like more interesting and adventurous stuff. When I look at packs, I look at gameplay and BB items because I could not care less about CAS. I am that person that will get sims off the gallery or randomize them. My favorite packs have been Cottage Living (obviously), Romantic Garden, Get Together, Jungle Adventure, and the two plant kits (bc I am a shameless plant mom irl so all my sims have to be as well). My biggest regrets are Snowy Escape, Vampires, and Dream Home Decorator. While some of the BB stuff is great, the gameplay falls flat for me personally and I don't use them a lot. I am definitely going to get the Castle Kit but I would like to try out one or two of these packs: Horse Ranch: the nectar brewing system seems cool but also horses and goats would complete my farm dreams. But I had similar thoughts about Snowy Escape and I regret getting that pack. Life and Death: It's new so I know there's a lot of hype but beyond the hype, is it something that's worthwhile having in your game long term? Bust the Dust: I love the idea of dust bunnies and more chores for my sims but is it still buggy? I know when it came out it was massively bugged. Moschino Stuff: I've avoided it because I know it's focused on CAS but everyone on youtube raves about the photography aspect being great for family gameplay. Is this true or is it just youtuber nonsense? For Rent: I don't know if I'm super thrilled with the BB and I missed the hype when it came out but I did hear the rental system was bugged. As someone who does build a lot of townhouses and apartment buildings, I think this would be great but is the gameplay actually playable? And how is the world? Book Nook: I currently use cc for wall to wall, floor to ceiling bookshelves that are in a different style and love them but I'm concerned about the glitching. Do these slot together the way the shelving in Dream Home Decorator does? Because those get randomly deleted all the time so it's really annoying. Lovestruck: I know nothing about this pack but I've used the SimDa Dating mod before and disliked it so I don't think I'd like this pack but I am curious to hear about your opinions on it, specifically anything that surprised you. Crystal Creations: I'm not super into CAS and when I am in CAS I definitely don't utilize any of the jewelry but I like the idea of making jewelry and running a jewelry shop using GTW. BB also looks amazing. What I want to know more about is the crystal gameplay. Things I would love to hear your opinions on: Gameplay: tell me what you loved, what you hated, what you're mildly annoyed at, etc. Did anything get boring for you? Did something surprise you? Build/Buy: What items from the packs do you use the most? Which ones do you use the least? Do the items fit well with any other TS4 content? World: if the pack comes with the world, how satisfied are you with it? Is fun to explore? What kinds of things are there to interact with? What are your favorite lots to build on? Are there any special collectibles? Lot type: if there is a new lot type, what do you think about it? Do you use it in your normal gameplay or is it something you use rarely? Bugs: Are there any bugs in the pack that I should worry about? I know the team eventually fixes most of the bugs but until then, I'd prefer to put off purchasing something that's extremely buggy (like with Wedding Stories). Playstyle: tell me your playstyle and how the pack works with your playstyle. Do you find yourself using it a lot or not at all?looks like my animal stock is elderly or dying...
I stopped by my Zoo again, a lot that was played only for a few days when created. To my surprise most of the stock I checked are now elderly or dying. I did not expect Grim to come to get any animal this soon. But he did, and it looked like it would be a busy night... I'm pretty sure that in the past I could check in settings that animals shall not age. Playing on rotation I don't want my goats to die while I play other houses. In my game 1 sim year is 112 simdays, and if the game age non played animals with 1 year per simday, I'm in big trouble... But when I looked under Pack settings I could not find anything for Horse Ranch pack or Cottage living pack. Am I looking in he wrong place? I suspect that this happened due to the Life & Death pack, but it could also be some of my game settings being reverted. It feels like the game has become obsessed with grim and death, which is fine if playing grim in Ravenwood, but not so fine when playing older households elsewhere, that focus on something else. When stopping by at the Zoo lot (residential lot) for just 1 hour, there were TWO fires! I hardly had a handful fires in my game ever since 2014. Feels like the game is trying a bit too hard to kill of sims in order o create ghosts... but again, it might be a random thing. Any input would be useful :)
How can I get my sim not to be afraid of all plants now?
I was experimenting with letting my sim who wants to become a Grim Reaper die in a number of ways or at least almost die so she would be prepared to take on the role. So she grew a cow plant and let it gobble her up and since she had a Death Flower in her inventory it spit her out. Only now she is too terrified of plants to care for her plants. This never happened before when sims would be eaten and spit back. Is there a counseling service that can help? Will it fade over time? Luckily she is also a magic user so she had the spell to tend to her plants magically. That hasn't failed her. But I would like to know why she is so afraid because she also has the "Brave" trait so that should have lessened the fears. Maybe just a glitch ... I mean and undocumented feature... in the game?
Two Grims?!
Somehow I've managed to get two different Grims in my active Ravenwood game. One of them wears clothing over his cassock, while the other one is always in his cassock alone. (Which is why I believe it's the latter one that is the 'real' Grim. That and the latter Grim is also the one that my Ophelia Specter has great chemistry with.) My question is, has this ever happened to one of you? And, if so, is there a way to get rid of the imposter Grim? I've been playing The Sims since the original game and I've never had this happen before in any of the versions where Grim can be interacted with. So ... um ... Help?
Things I didn't know
Played sims 4 since it came out, then had a five year break. Started up again a couple of months ago and brought some new packs. This is what I have recently discovered: That there's a movie theature in San Sequia. (what a nice surprise) Only a rabbit hole. but my simmies still had fun. That you can go window shopping in Henford on bagley. That if you give teens and young adults bikes, they'll bike everywhere instead of running to a destination, even in the snow from the bath house to the ski lifts in Snowy escape. Anything else I'm missing out on? regards L
Bucket list how to?
My Sim has a bucket list wish to "Maybe I'll try to overcome social awkwardness?" and I can't figure out how to achieve this. I've had her go out a meet new Sims, and use the various socially awkward socials like Confess to being..., Ask for social advice... etc, but the counter doesn't tick down at all. Any tips anyone?
