What are souls good for?
I'm playing Life & Death as spoiler free as possible, and two of my ghost sims have acquired an object called "soul". One bought it from Waylon, the other received it from a quest. Can someone explain in the least spoilery way possible what this object will be used for later? (I need to know because I'm also blogging my gameplay and souls being something you can "have" and trade instead of being what you literally ARE messes with my lore quite a lot. So if this soul object is just a crafting ingredient, I'd simply call it something else in my story. A coalesced chunk of memories or emotions or somesuch.)Solved338Views0likes4CommentsGame Rolled Back?
For some very strange reason, my game has rolled back on its own. I patched yesterday and continued to play my game. My four remaining teens in university all completed their last day of the term, graduated (I have the pictures) and I had them all move out of the dorm. I placed Kayleigh back with her parents, Aaron and Joey back with their parents, and for a moment Erik to his own place. I was all set to pick up where I had left off, only to find the four in the dorm. It is Sunday and Erik hadn't won his Best Song, yet. I could tell by the way he was dressed. Also, I noticed his unfinished presentation board was still there in the dorm foyer. I checked Erik's inventory and there is no degree or graduation picture. When I looked at the game to load, this one was the one at the top. Face/palm. It is one thing for me to choose to rollback, it's quite another for the game to do so. I have a partial update written, wherein I need pictures to complete it. I really don't have the stamina right now to replay that which was already played. Whom do I call to complain?SolvedGalacticGal20 days agoSeasoned Ace46Views1like3Comments- catloverplayer21 days agoSeasoned Ace5.1KViews18likes169Comments

Once again, I have written myself into a bit of a corner, if you will. I sent five teens to university. Without thinking about the passage of time, they completed their first term. And went on to their second term. This is problematic. I've got only 7-day seasons, and I set the Award Shows (in my mind) to the first Sunday of each month. Marking Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter for the awarding of four of music's top awards: Song of the Year, Best New Artist of the Year, Record of the Year; and finally, Album of the Year. My teenaged Rock Star has won the first three, thus far for the year 2275. Since they have begun their second term, would that be 2276? Technically, it's just now Winter in the same 'year' I began their higher education. What year should I consider it to be in my game? Is it total insanity for the story's sake to suggest they each are on an accelerated track? What would you do? I really don't feel like removing story updates to fix this problem. Please help!SolvedGalacticGal2 months agoSeasoned Ace96Views0likes6CommentsSupernatural Sims in the Afterlife?
Do we know yet how supernatural sims like Werewolves, Vampires, Mermaids, or Spellcasters will work as ghosts once they die> I assume they would lose their associated powers and develop ghost powers instead... but how about rebirth? If they retain some of their mortal traits, would these also include their supernatural traits that they had before death?SolvedLoganIsSleepy2 months agoRising Rookie337Views3likes18CommentsReport Posts
There needs to be a way to report posts here. I just saw one where they claim to be doing a pack giveaway, and they link to another site that has nothing to do with Sims/EA. Sometimes these quizzes mine information that hackers can use. The community here is so trusting, which makes them vulnerable. This is just irritating. I have five teen Sims rooming in the same dorm at university. Two are boyfriend and girlfriend. I sent all of them to Prom, since it's permitted. Sadly, the girlfriend, who was crowned Prom Royalty is now close to bearing a festering grudge with her boyfriend, since he didn't actually ask her to prom. He is also feeling resentment, since she didn't ask him. Yet, they WENT. TOGETHER. There is no interaction for a Sim in university to even ask anybody to the Prom. I know, I've search just about every category of interaction. If it exits, I couldn't find it. Had I known this was going to happen anyway, I wouldn't have bothered to send any of them. It doesn't fit well in the scenario I'm playing and writing up. Now, in order to fix this, I have two choices. 1) Go back and replay it, or 2) use a cheat to remove the sentiment. Oi! For every step forward, it's like I have to take two steps back. I thought I let the Prom close before I sent them to where I needed them to go, too. This is just crazy. So, what is driving you nuts with the game? I need to know I'm not alone in this.SolvedGalacticGal2 months agoSeasoned Ace81Views0likes2CommentsWORKAROUND - Grim not showing up when summoned
I am using Windows 10 still because some of my programs that make my computer more accessible to me are 32-bit programs. The file locations may be/look different than Windows 11. The principles are still the same. Read This First: Make sure you only click folders and files that appear underneath This PC. These are the folders and files that are actually on your hard drive(s) and not in The Cloud. Back up your current user folder - To do this, follow these steps: Launch File Explorer - When you start it, you will most likely see your Quick Access folders first, don't click on any of those. The reason for this is: if you have Microsoft OneDrive, the Quick Access folders are usually tied to OneDrive. Again, make sure you are navigating to folders under This PC. You can navigate through your files in the left side panel or click on them on the right side of the screen. Double-click on the Documents folder. Double-click Electronic Arts folder. Highlight the Sims 4 folder but don't double-click it. Right click and go to Rename - Rename your Sims 4 folder to Sims 4 Backup Copy this folder (Ctrl-C) and Paste it (Ctrl-V) a place you can find it if you need it - I usually put mine on the Desktop. Once it is somewhere you can easily find it if you need it, follow the next step . You can now delete the Sims 4 Backup folder that is still in the Electronic Arts folder because you have a copy on the desktop. Now your Electronic Arts folder should now be empty. Don't panic. Launch the EA App and hover over The Sims 4 (You may or may not have other games in the left side panel) Click the blue Play Button. This will start the game. Because you deleted your Sims 4 folder, the game will run as if it were running for the very first time. Technically, you are running it for the very first time! ALL of your settings, saved games and mods are removed. For example, I play my game with no music on. If I follow these steps correctly, I will hear music. Exit the game immediately! DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING ON THE MAIN MENU OTHER THAN EXIT GAME. Launch File Explorer again. Make sure that you are navigating through files and folders under the This PC as before Double-click on the Documents folder. Double-click Electronic Arts folder. You should now see your Sims 4 folder. Double-click it. Delete localthumbcache.package and avatarcache.package files. You may be tempted to go into the backup folder you made before to put back your Saved Games and Mods - DO NOT DO THIS! There are too many mods that will cause the event not to work properly. You will need fresh saves (one every week - I named mine Gim Event 1 and I will name next week's save Gim event 2, and so on) to complete the Grim Reaper Event. I know this seems harsh - and it is, but it's a workaround so we're all kind of screwed by it if we want the event to work properly and get all of the items. Run the game again in the EA App with the blue Play button as before. Adjust your settings the way you like them - DO NOT ENABLE MODS Start a new save Make 2 YA Sims ONLY - Occult Sims are OK, but no pets, infants, toddlers or children. (or get them off the Gallery) - One you want to play with and one you will kill to have Grim show up at the house! Enable Cheats - Press Ctrl-Shift-C and type: testingcheats true then press Ctrl-Shift-C again to close the cheats window. I also strongly recommend turning autonomy off for the Event tasks. That way you can direct them to do Event tasks and they're not getting glasses of water every 5 seconds - because you won't have mods to stop Sims from getting water or putting plates on top of half walls. DO NOT PAUSE OR SAVE YOUR GAME UNTIL THE EVENT TASKS APPEAR - THIS WILL BREAK THE EVENT. Try to do the tasks in order. It's much easier and there is less chance of something going wrong. When you get to the Summon Grim Task - Buy the Grimophone and click Summon Grim Reaper. You must do this even though there are reports of Grim not showing up at all. As it is an event task, and you must do it to do the next event task. The next task after that will be: Meet or Socialize with the Grim Reaper. This is why you have another Sim (to kill.) Switch control to your "Sacrificial Sim" - If you forget to switch control to your other sim, the next step will kill your main sim. I found out the hard way the first time I did this! Make the Second Sim sit down. Shift-Click on that Sim and select Kill... Your only option will be to kill that Sim by an (Invisible) Rabbit Attack. Click that. Now Grim has no choice but to show up : ) YAY! Pause the Game so Grim doesn't disappear. Shift-Click on Grim, Click Add to Household. Grim's face should now appear on the bottom next to your main sim. Click on him as you normally would to meet or socialize with him, I clicked Ask about Day. That Event Task should now complete. After that, you can remove Grim from your household unless you want him to stay but he might be needed for other tasks during the event so I would remove him. That's as far as I got. I then paused my game and wrote everyone this guide! If you have Questions or issues, don't hesitate to reach out to me.Solved243Views0likes2CommentsRemove Reward Store Rewards?

It might be from the last patch, but it could also be something I missed earlier. In the past, when my sim interacted with some sim, that sim would move to the very top of the relation panel. Contacts were sorted by latest interaction. But today I can't figure how they sort at all... When my sim interacts with a sim, that other sim seems to move a few icons, but not to the top. Sims listed top seems random, as my sim didn't even see them the past day (he did interact with at least 10 others who are not ranked any high.
