Veilguard stuttering
Hi all, I finally got around to purchasing Dragon Age: The Veilguard a week ago. It ran great at first, but then it started stuttering. I have to turn V sync on to stop the screen tearing, but that's not what's causing the stuttering. I have tried pretty much everything to stop it. I keep thinking I've done it, only to have the stuttering return. A few days ago, my CPU cooling system crapped out, and I had to get a new one, and the stuttering is now worse than it was before (the occurrences themselves aren't worse but they're happening more frequently now). Things I have tried: *Deleting shader cache *Increasing available space for shader cache *Adjusting every display / graphic option in the game (one by one) *Capping the frame rate to 60 fps *Disabling fullscreen optimizations *Running the Nexus Mods registry edit *Giving the game high priority *Switching to a high performance power plan *Uninstalling and reinstalling the game *Scanning for and fixing corrupt system files *Verifying game files via Steam *Updating my BIOS *Updating (and rolling back) my Nvidia graphics drivers I have used MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner to determine that the CPU usage spikes just before a stutter and then everything drops. CPU and GPU temps stay stable or drop, so nothing is overheating. I've used LatencyMon to determine that some DirectX and Nvidia drivers are having the biggest DPC latency during the game, but not to the point of being red or yellow. The only thing I haven't tried yet is messing with the voltage or over/under-clocking my CPU. I don't want to go near that with a ten-foot pole! I've attached my Dx Diag file. Anyone got any other suggestions? (FYI: There are undoubtedly other things I've tried that I've forgotten to include in the above list.) I am loving this game otherwise and really want to play all the way through. So far I am persevering despite the stuttering, but it is taxing my patience.
Direct X 12 issues with Veilguard
I've suddenly started having DX 12 issues with Veilguard whether I'm streaming it or not. Twice within ten minutes, I just had a) total crash to desktop with a GPU Crash/Hang error. b) not even a minute later, same issue but with this error. I honestly don't know what to do because my drivers are up to date, Win 11 is up to date, I've even done a totally clean uninstall/reinstall of the drivers. (Radeon 9070XT) So I am STUMPED.
Repeated Crashes in Dragon Age: The Veilguard
I recently started Dragon Age: The Veilguard on quite a new (!!) PC and it ran perfectly fine on ultra settings until yesterday. Out of nowhere, the game crashed when I had just begun what I think is Part 3: Awakening. Not completely certain, but I had just reached the point where I needed to retrieve a dagger (I will not go into more detail to avoid spoilers). I can launch the game and load my latest save, but as soon as I walk a few steps, it crashes again. I tried removing shader 2459419382 and letting Steam reinstall it by verifying the integrity of the game files, as I had seen some other comment about this. But the problem persists. It is frustrating that the game is crashing on a new PC (but crashing in general, of course) and even more so that it happens so early in the game. Does anyone know how to fix it?
Lucanis ACT 1 Companion Quest is Bugged: Bidding Farewell
So I do want to say I have had to start over, I was 30 hours into my first save, because I missed a companion quest and realize they are important for late game. So I decided to just start over. I’ve been looking into how to romance characters and keeping them alive while trying to stay as spoiler free as possible, but did see about how the choice for Minrathos and Treviso can cause bothe Lucanis and Neve to harden depending on which you choose. I chose Treviso in my first playthrough and plan to do it on my second because A, I decided to pick being a Crow as a background and B, I wanted to Romance Lucanis. People were saying that if you didn’t pick Treviso it would lock you out but now that I’m back and doing his first couple of companion quests, I realized something. The Bidding Farewell Companion Quest does NOT trigger as complete. So essentially not only does it lock you of of the Hero status for end game, but I also think it locks you out of the romance as well. Can anyone confirm to me whether this quest is complete for them? It’s the quest where you go to the little get together for the first Talon. I also checked my old save file and it isn’t marked as a Completed Quest there either.
Nostalgia Trip not unlocking
Hello, I have been trying to get this achievement for 2 days now, the first time I tried I was near end game, I rotated the statues, did the wisps then jumped off the balcony and didnt get the achievement, I reinstalled the game, verified game files, rebooted my pc, started a brand new playthrough where I rotated the statues as soon as I was in lighthouse, then did the wisps after I did necropolis, the achievement still won't unlock. Anyone have any advice for this? Really want to 100% this game..
"Load Error" Is Not A Bug, The Game Is Actually Working As Intended
One thing I noticed is that HDD (and external/low speed/older SSD I would imagine) is only supported on the Minimum specifications listed for Veilguard by EA: Dragon Age™: The Veilguard - PC System Requirements (ea.com) If you are using an HDD (or potentially an external/low speed/old SSD) it is only supported using the "Low" graphics preset only, any other graphics preset or higher level graphics support shows an SSD is required. So, regardless of the rest of your specs, if you are using an HDD (or potentially an external/low speed/old SSD) you should only attempt to play the game on the "Low" graphics preset. If you want to play the game on a higher graphics preset it is required that you have it installed on an internal SSD. So, while EA did make it clear that unless you want to play the game on the "Low" graphics preset you can't use an HDD, they really should have made it much, much more clear in their requirements, especially on Steam where they did not post this graphic. Given this I wouldn't expect this issue to ever get fixed, because it isn't a bug. If you are running the game off of an HDD (or potentially an external/low speed/old SSD) unless you want to play the game on the "Low" graphics preset it will likely never work correctly on any other graphics settings and this is something that can't be changed since it is fundamental to how the game loads assets into memory.
Dragon Age Veigluard Freezes Pc
Hello everyone. I have a problem with the game. At random moments and after a random amount of time, the game freezes my entire computer and requires me to shut it down. I've tried searching forums for help and have done almost everything I could. Deleting one of the folders that players often report, changing settings, disabling RTX, and other such things. Regardless of the settings, the game simply freezes my entire computer after about 3 minutes, 15 seconds, or an hour. This doesn't happen at certain moments with a lot of effects, because it can even happen in the menu. I dont know why i have that problem but please help... im tired of that...
Dragonage Veilgard crashes Xbox series X
Ive been playing through the dragonage veilgard game now for about 2 weeks. My Xbox constantly crashes and powers completely off. It doesn't do this on any other game I play. After scouring the web it seems this is a known issue but I couldn't find anything where EA or Bioware have acknowledged it. Has anyone heard or seen any updates on a fix? This game is fun but getting to be unplayable with the constant crashing.
Hard crashing on console [Xbox Series X]
Hard crashes are still occurring post-patch on Xbox Series X and PS5. There are multiple posts across here, Reddit, the official Bioware discord, etc all with the same issue. Randomly the game will crash, with not easily identifiable causes. The game will sometimes just crash the game, other times it will completely crash the console itself, powering it off. It will happen in combat, when paused, out of combat; there doesn't seem to be a specific trend. Sometimes it will be an hour between crashes, but more often than not it's in <10min increments. No settings changes or fixes address the issue. It happens in both performance and fidelity modes. Could we get an acknowledgement that Bioware is investigating this issue? There has been no direct acknowledgement that Bioware is aware of this issue and many people were hoping this patch would resolve it.
No longer getting field banter with multiple party 'pairs' (XBOX)
So in my second Veilguard run on my XBSX, I've been trying to get more field banter than I did in the last one since it's all delightful, so periodically I'll grab a pair I don't use together as often and run through some reliable 'banter trigger' spots/ wait a while/ do another one/ etc etc. So a fair bit ago in my current run, I noticed that suddenly I couldn't get banter between Davrin and Harding to trigger anymore. I was pretty puzzled, since I was pretty sure they couldn't be 'out' of options at that point. I tried a few things- reloading, trying different banter spots, getting banter with different party members and trying them again, etc- but eventually gave up and kept going, hoping that eventually it would sort itself out (but as of where I am now- far enough in the game that I have a couple party members with Hero of the Veilguard status and more to come soon- I still can't get any banter from them). What's made this matter more urgent is now I've got another pair that suddenly isn't triggering banter either- Taash and Emmrich. It's bad enough I'm missing out on one 'pair' of banter, but two pairs? And Emmrich and Taash have great banter. (And again, they're not out of options! Hell, back with Davrin/Harding, even if I WAS out at that point, there's been enough major missions/companion stuff for both of them that new banter should have been added at some point since the issue started, but nope, still radio silence when I take them out) It's really killing my motivation to play any further. What if I lose still more pairs? Please tell me there's a way to sort this out.Game Asking for Activation after quitting game
I just installed DAV through XBox Game Pass. Installation went fine, and I can play the game just fine for 3 hours before I quit the game. A few hours later, I run the game again through EA launcher and I keep getting this window instead. My EA launcher is online, I've tried filling the form and click "Sign In" and it's just redirect me to the open EA launcher. If I tried to click "Play" again, the same activation window opens up, and it's a repeat. I've clicked "Open Origin.com" which opened a new Edge tab/browser and even make sure I'm logged in in that session and NOT closing it (in case it matters) and then tried signing in again the activation window but it's the same thing. I've tried repairing the game installation through EA launcher, but it's still giving me activation window on "Play". Tried "App Recovery" feature of EA launcher, but DAV still giving me activation window. System: Windows 11, XBox PC Game Pass.
The Wolf's Call bridge missing
The second bridge, the one right in front of the portal to the memory of the Wolf's Call is missing. I've seen someone point out that they reloaded to an earlier save to fix this, but I can't do this as my last save was ages ago. I'm not sure what to do here. I think the bug may have occurred from the fact I discovered and killed Quyn the Sparkbreaker earlier than I was supposed to, but the game did not warn me about this and now I'm stuck with this incomplete quest.
Constantly crashing on Xbox series x
This has been frustrating. I preordered the game and had it pre-installed on the day of launch, and ever since it crashes multiple times during the limited sessions I have with it. Normally it's before big cutscenes or right after, but it's also been in random times where it's saving or I'm looking at the menu. It always kicks me back out to the Xbox dashboard, and even if I'm diligently saving it will put me at a prior checkpoint making me replay boring movement. I've reinstalled the game, deleted local data, reset the console, reset the network id, googled and discorded without any success. I've been waiting years for this game and all I want to do is play! So I was doing some trophies for my platinum on PS5 and the trophy named Annihilation in arlathan didn’t pop, I checked 2/3 times to see if I was doing everything correctly and I was. I did some research and tried a bunch of things but no success. I’m writting this to see if something can be made because I really like this game and want to do the platinum trophy
Dragon Age: Veilguard DLC Still Missing After 11 Months
EA_David EA_Shepard Just posting here again because I honestly don’t know where else to go with this and I'm sick of having this issue. The DLC I purchased for Dragon Age: The Veilguard is not showing up in my game. It was there last night for a brief moment, then disappeared again. I haven’t changed anything on my end and it’s been like this since release, so we’re coming up on 11 months now where I am having issues with the DLC based off of EA's entitlements issue. I've tried everything I possibly can on my end to fix this: - Verified the game files - Uninstalled and reinstalled the game - Cleared cache - Logged out and back in - Checked my EA account (DLC shows as owned) - Purchased an EA Play membership - Spoke with a bunch of EA support agents - Talked to other players on forums, Reddit, and Discord Still nothing. The DLC just doesn’t show up in-game, even though I paid for it and my account says I own it. Again, it showed up briefly last night, then vanished again for no reason. Every support agent I have spoken to have said the game and the DLC do not show up on my account as owned. I’ve spoken with several EA support agents. Most just repeated the same generic troubleshooting steps that I had already done multiple times. None of them had any idea what was actually going on. No one could escalate the issue or give me any clear next steps. Community members and managers have tried to help too but everyone’s stumped. This is EA Support stating that the game and DLC do not show up in my account: The DLC showing I have it installed and that I own it: Deluxe Edition owned (bought in August 2024): Images of the DLC being locked: Images of the DLC working last night for a few minutes (which has now disappeared again): It’s not just me either. There are plenty of other players dealing with the same thing and it seems like we’ve all just been left hanging. I live in Australia, and under Australian Consumer Law, companies are legally required to provide what customers have paid for. If you sell content and then fail to deliver it, that’s a serious issue. I’ve paid for something that I don’t have access to, and EA hasn’t done anything to resolve it for almost a year. We either need a proper response from someone who actually understands this issue, confirmation that EA is aware of it and are working on a fix, or some kind of compensation or complete refund. At this point I feel like I’ve tried everything and gotten nowhere. EA, please step up and take responsibility for this.
Quest: Out of Tune does not advance
When attempting to investigate the disappearing buskers, the notable items appear to be wine, bloodstain, broken instrument, then a note read near the instrument. Online walkthroughs bear this out. My attempts to advance the quest by reading the note do not work. After reading the note, no voice lines are triggered, and the quest does not advance further.The Waiting Stone Quest Bug
Doing the Waiting Stone quest for Harding has given me a game breaking bug. I literally cannot progress the quest even after clearing the blight and getting rid of the boils on the door to the oracle. Stalgard just stands there doing nothing. Tried reloading auto saves and even reloaded to a save before I started the quest so now I'm stuck on what to do.
Game "crash" when talking to an NPC
Playing on PC via Steam. Currently just started the 2nd Act of the campaign and am in Hossberg Wetlands. Whenever I talk to Mila the screen flashes white and takes me back to the Title screen of the game. I've talked to other NPCs in the area and can play the game as per normal, but thought I'd report this weird issue. I've verified the game files on steam and no issue seems to be present with the files.
