Now the apartment shaders are fixed it would be great for rentals to get the same ones, its very distracting for gameplay with walls and floors being visible When visting as a landlord it looks like this which is the apartment shaders minus the ceilings, walls and floors arent rendered, which would be amazing if actually implemented: Vs Rentals in Normal Gameplay: And Apartments post patch 1.109.185gooochyeee9 months agoSeasoned Ace3.2KViews121likes26CommentsChanging Keybindings in The Sims 4
This is the real issue with this game ! Why are there not a way to change my keybindings in this game.! Heard many say that it is needed, and i think THIS IS the only game in the world with lack of that feature. Any with connection who can answer me WHY they have left out keybinds for this game ?!147KViews63likes83CommentsZoomed in closer on faces/Zoom on accessory
I'm pretty sure this was an intended change with the new update, but in CAS when you click on a sim's head the game zooms in on it much more than it did pre-update (max zoom). I was wondering if there is any option to revert it back to the state before the last update, since this is a bit too much of a zoom for my liking. Thank you in advance! Wants and fears are not gonna be ok for me. I was so used to whims! Turning them off wouldn't be right for me, I just am connected to whims. Maybe make an option button to enable and disable whims and wants and fears respectively. The image of Humiliated Sakuya has whims, that's what I want to see. I don't need to see Shion stay on the lot for 8 hours or be alone, I want whims.7.2KViews45likes106CommentsSuggestion - Sims 4 - Sims with Disabilities
I honestly believe Sims 4 is the perfect environment to represent people with disabilities. There are very few major games which do so. Elements that could be put in include: Wheelchair Bound Sims Ramps/Elevators they can use instead of stairs Walkers/Canes (for elderly/injured sims) Deafness add Sign Language skill. Without it, they would be limited to non verbal communication. Appropriate handicap in learning auditory skills Blindness Seeing eye pets White Canes Appropriate handicap in learning visual skills And so on...7.3KViews45likes185CommentsQuality of life suggestions for Laundry Day Stuff Pack
This is a suggestion/feedback specifically to do with Laundry Day Stuff and I have a few suggestions I would like to give in regards the laundry in the game. Firstly I was hoping it would be possible to give us an option in the games settings to disable/enable the laundry feature so that we can just have washers/dryer be a decorative thing in our games if we so wish. I've seen a lot of people open to the idea of this as well. Second is I would love it if there was any chance of reworking the washer and dryer machines to be able to go under the kitchen counters. Not only would this be great for space saving in smaller homes it is also a great way to allow for more accurate representation of people's home in some parts of the world. Here in the UK it is very common for our washer/dryers to go under kitchen counters. I hope you can take this into consideration and thank you!Anonymous10 months ago2KViews38likes16CommentsMaking "spouse" and "partner" labels toggleable in CAS
I was really happy to see that the game has updated the language for romantic relationships to default to the gender neutral "partner" and "spouse." I think having the game default to these terms is a great step in making the game more inclusive! But I wish there were toggles in CAS to bring back the old labels, similar to how all sims default to bi/pansexual but you can set their sexuality in CAS. A lot of queer people fought hard to call the person they love their boyfriend or wife, and I just think it would be even more inclusive to have options, rather than to remove options. I certainly prefer this language change because it's much better for my non-binary sims in romantic relationships, but I just wish this was an area with more player customization! I hope the sims team considers adding these options back in at some point. Maybe to CAS? Maybe to sim profiles under the simology tab?natalier9811 months agoRising Vanguard6.9KViews37likes40CommentsPlease add Ukrainian language
My name is Olha and I’m from Ukraine💙💛 I play Sims 4 for 10 years. I have 60% purchased additions to Sims 4 on my PS4. I would like to ask you if is it possible to add Ukrainian language to Sims 4? Product: The Sims 4 Platform:PC I want to talk about something you don't mention above: How accessible is the current experience? It's useless to me Summarize what in the product is difficult to use. Your game is boring. The careers are basic and 2-dimensional. Why can't I be a teacher, a lawyer, an engineer? Why did you spend time making ridiculously stupid and unusable walk styles instead of, I don't know, a larger selection of personality traits than 3? I think this user summed it up well: interests pinball machines magazines family trees swingsets exterminator/BUGS? no more illnesses or sicknesses? (wtf) The abundance of public places KARMA POWERS?!?!??!?!?!!??!? zodiac signs NO CARS OR VEHICLES WTF not even one car for decor! no REPAIRMAN/repomen no babysitters! Have you seen a grocery store? i havent. no ghosts no full face makeup no favorite foods, colours, music no dreams no comfort need??? NO multi toned hair colours No colourwheel to change your clothing colour no BOOKSTORES? i dont wanna read the same 3 books. no shopping for clothes no aspiration failures No EYELASHES Hardly any empty lots No normal careers "Law, Medica, Buisness, etc'" THOSE ARE JUST SOME THINGS THAT WE LOST. but thats not even it!! The whole world is completely FLAT. there is absolutely no oelevation in this game, i can only paint terrain unnatural colours. Also, half the lots in this game, i cant even visit! What happened to visiting your sim at work, and movie theatres, and public locations, and VEHICLE TRAVEL? I have to walk everwhere? What about when im PREGNANT and i have to jog to the public places? Oh wait that doesnt happen because there is no place for a pregnant lady to hang out! There is only one bar, and a gym, and a park.... no book store? grocery store? how about all of that? NO HOSPITAL??? Oh yeah,. theres no need for one because MY SIM CANT GET SICK ANYMORE? absolutely no illnesses. not even one. what fun is that? Without sicknesses, repo-man, possible bug infestations, and disasters WHAT IS THE POINT OF THE GAME? I grow up, have a kid, pick from one of the few, overly specific jobs, and that is IT. I repeat the cycle! If i am a good person, i dont even get rewarded! BECAUSE THERE IS NO MORE KARMA. no earthquakes, hardly ever any fires, and when my house DOES catch on fire, THERES NO **bleep** FIREMEN TO BLOW OUT THE FLAME. NO POLICE OFFICERS, NO NOTHING!!" How is this making it more difficult? You have created a terribly boring game with poorly chosen and expensive-for-the-content expansions and "stuff packs." How can we reproduce this experience? Don't. Burn it down, STOP. Take the notes from your disgruntled fans. Place less emphasis on 3d rendering and more on the f***ing content. Sims 1 was leagues better than your true-to-life simulation as boring and unsatisfying office job. No hope.24KViews37likes85CommentsPLEASE stop sims from autonomously using their phone
make a box to check that makes the sims stop autonomously using their phone. they already have short lives and they spend half of that life on the stupid phone, like real, stupid people. I play the sims to get away from real people who are addicted to their phone. please just make this stop. it isn't fun or neat or cute, it's just dumb.djriddle19772 years agoRising Scout1.9KViews33likes62CommentsOff The Grid Cooking Needs Revamp
I was really excited when I saw the Cottage Living pack was coming out and overall I am very happy with it. Paired with the new lot Challenges update I am finally able to live my dream of having an off-the-grid farm where my sims grow and harvest everything they need (simple living). One problem. The off the grid cooking as it stands makes no sense whatsoever. My sims can cook pumpkin stew but not chili (not even vegetable chili)-inconsistent They cannot bake pies, scones, or crumpets despite all recipes predating the modern oven-mostly by a lot. Some recipes they can only cook one serving at a time (grilled cheese, eggs and toast, etc.) They cannot make pan-fried tilapia or fried fish or even some other obviously soup-ish and stovetop recipes. I.e. pancakes, eggs and bacon, etc. All of these are grayed out and say "no power off the grid" when scrolled over. I am mostly upset because this shows a clear lack of research on food history as it seems the developers largely said anything that must be baked is obviously impossible without electricity- WRONG! Baking has been around in many forms for thousands of years. Therefore my sims, living off the grid, should be able to bake some things like pies, scones, and shepherd's pie, etc. And really, it should at least be consistent about the recipes allowed to cook off the grid.7.2KViews30likes29CommentsFour "Features" that Need to be Removed ASAP.
These four aspects of the game I think should be removed, as they're a hindrance to gameplay, and serve no useful purpose. 1. Occult Animations in CAS - CAS editing is done on a grab and drag system. We know our creation is an occult. We made it, and there's a symbol for it above the traits. We don't need a reminder and we don't need to be grabbing at a moving target. The Sims need to hold reasonably still in CAS. 2. Autonomous Phone Use - Sims are constantly pulling out their phones for no good reason, slowing down their walking and often interfering with tasks. The other day, my Sim was desperately hungry. Just before sitting down to eat, she decided to stop for selfies. The player has control of phone use. We decide when they text, use apps, and take selfies. There's already game mechanics for this. 3. Room Sniffing - Sims stopping to stiff a room is both absurd and problematic. As another example similar to the phone issue, my Sim was in desperate need of the toilet, doing the pee walk to get there. Rather than just sitting on the toilet like a sane person, she stopped first to sniff the bathroom (eww.) 4. Judging Decor - Decor preferences would be fine if they simply gave Moodlets. Instead, they walk all the way to the item and waste time staring at it, sometimes iterrupting active or queued tasks. I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't use this. I give every Sim all 50 Likes and Dislikes with none in Decor so nothing can be assigned randomly. I completely shut it out because it nothing but obnoxious.iamsweetmystery10 months agoSeasoned Ace1.3KViews29likes26CommentsSims 4 Multiplayer or Online
Sims 4 online or multiplayer should be an expansion pack where you can play with your friends live on the Sims 4. Basically, in a household, you can both go into create a sim and be able to create one household together. Also, you should be able to do the same but with building house. Both have access to the same lot on one world and be able to build together and play live together. Another option could be you can both play on the same exact world/game but build different houses and different households that can visit each other. I just think the game would be way more enjoyable if you could be able to play live with your friends. Thank you.68KViews29likes92CommentsSims 4 Ocean Exploration expansion pack [Aquariums, scuba diving and houseboats]
Underwater Diving areas There are underwater diving areas that Sims can explore and that are interactive and actually visible to the player. Players can find treasure chests, explore underwater caves or sunken shipwrecks, harvest seaweed and catch fish swimming around. The fish that have been caught can be brought to the surface and exhibited in an aquarium. There is a scuba diving skill. The higher the skill level, the longer a Sim can stay underwater and the less depressurizing time a Sim has. Aquarium There is an aquarium in town that you can fill up with fish and other marine life like starfish or colorful sea slugs. These can be caught while scuba diving. There are giant aquarium tanks that you can stock with fish. There is an aquarium tunnel object that Sims can walk through. Aquariums are a new type of community venue. There are saltwater tanks (with corals and rocks) and freshwater tanks (with kelp and wood branches) Houseboat Houseboats are a new type of home that Sims can live in. Houseboats are editable in Build Mode like a regular lot, except you can't add a basement. Whale watching There are whales jumping out of the ocean that you can go watch with your houseboat. You can offer paid whale watching tours or diving tours with your houseboat by clicking on the tourist information center. Driftwood furniture Collect driftwood at the beach and craft new driftwood furniture using the woodworking table from base game and Handiness skill. Expanded mermaids Mermaids should get their own skill tree like all other occults and more scary looking like Sirens. Sirens could also be a new type of occult. To expand Mermaids they should get… Aquatic ears New mermaid tails Seaweed hair Fish scale skin tone that makes the whole body have fish scales Barnacles on body Scaly arms and legs while on land Fin on head (instead of hair) Sims can become a Siren by getting bitten by a Siren. (Like vampires) Mermaids/ Sirens can drink blood like vampires, but don‘t need to More fish-like appearance Fish-like eyes Freezing abilities Stronger manipulation powers The Siren/ Mermaid skill tree Australian world The town is inspired by Australian beach towns like Airlie Beach in Australia. It consists of two marinas where houseboats are located. New collections Sea slugs: Verco's nudibranch Black-margined sea slug Leaf sea slug Clown nudibranch Orange side-gilled slug Chromodoris nudibranch New fishes Harvest edible seaweed Seaweed grows underwater and you can harvest it and eat it. Shipwreck Exploration There are underwater shipwrecks that you can explore, unlock doors by finding keys in storage chests, by being gifted keys from a local Sim etc. Metal debris blocks paths. Sims must use a sledgehammer to break through metal debris. Requires Fitness skill. Sharks live inside these shipwrecks and your Sim needs to hide from them.1.2KViews28likes32CommentsREQUEST: Calendar UI Changes
Table of Contents Clear-Cut Filtering Combine Add Event to Section Include Sulani Events Notification Toggle ADD Club Gathering SCHEDULE Vacation & PTO - NEW NOTE: I tried to use the Anchor function for the Table Of Contents, but its keeps erroring as invalid HTML and removing the anchors. Sorry for the inconvenience. Happy scrolling! Clear-Cut Filtering The useful Filter function of the Calendar is overshadowed by other more prominent features on the sidebar. To help make the Filter function more noticeable, how about using Calendar icons for the filter selection. This allows ease of convenience through one-click filtering. When clicked, each icon would toggle checked/unchecked, on/off, color/gray. Combine Add Event to Section If a player owns all the packs, the Calendar sidebar could list events for Holidays, Festivals, Weddings, Stay Overs, Vacations, Work Schedule - all on the same day, making for a very long sidebar of scheduled listings for that day. The Add Event options are found at the bottom of this (potentially long) sidebar list. Some event types have their own separate “Add” button, which affixes 4 more listings to the Calendar sidebar (ADD: Holiday, Event, Wedding Event, Stay Over). Instead of scrolling to the bottom of the events list, how about collecting all the “Add” buttons to a single sidebar element and move it to the top of the Calendar sidebar for convenience and better visibility. Use calendar icons as one-click Add buttons. Include Sulani Events Island Living comes with some great community events. However these events have no notifications on the Calendar. A Sim with the “Child of the Islands” Trait would very much appreciate being notified of these island events if they live outside of Sulani. Let’s add Sulani Events to the Calendar notifications and the Events filter. Notification Toggle Each Event listing has the option to Favorite it. But some events have weekly notifications that can become annoying. Depending on your played household, some events may not be relevant. An elder scientist with no teen children may not be interested in weekly notifications of Cheerleading Sports Day that comes with the High School Years expansion pack. Using the same function as the Favorite Event toggle, how about adding a Notifications toggle for each Event/Festival found below the Favorite toggle. If checked ON, then that household will receive notifications for that event. If checked OFF, those event notifications are muted. Default state: ON. EDIT Feb-2024: Added Club Gathering post link to Table of Contents. EDIT Oct-2024: Added Schedule Vacation & PTO post link to Table of Contents.Vyo42 years agoSeasoned Veteran1.5KViews28likes18CommentsNo more live events!
Nobody asked for this. Seriously. I'm sure the executives at EA love live events because they pump up login numbers, but they're terrible for the players: Inciting FOMO- being limited-time events with no other official way to unlock the content, players that can't/won't use mods miss out if they're not playing during the time an event is live. Forcing a specific playstyle- The appeal of The Sims has always been that it's your sandbox to do what you want in, but unless a player completely avoids opening the game in online mode, these events intrude upon gameplay without an opt-out. That was probably the thing that annoyed me most about Reaper's Rewards, having the event pop up in saves I didn't intend to play through it in. Forcing online play- The Sims 4 is a single-player game, therefore playing online should never be mandatory, let alone a requirement to get and keep content. Bugs, bugs, bugs- The Happy at Home content had to be handed out to everyone because so many people had trouble getting it in the intended manner; Answers HQ and social media were flooded for the duration of the event with reports of problems playing Reaper's Rewards and getting its loot. I don't trust that Cozy Celebrations is going to be any better in that regard. Seriously, bugs- The dev time and energy that's going into pushing this mobile-game-esque nonsense would be much better spent fixing major issues with the game, as the playerbase has been clamoring for for years and as EA has promised they were going to devote more time to. When I saw there was a patch today, I was hoping it would include some of those fixes. At the very least, it's unacceptable that trans bodies are still broken several months and several patches after that bug was introduced, despite EA/Maxis's lip service to depicting diverse Sims and a modder showing how easy it was to fix within a week of the patch. Please, EA. Save this nonsense for multiplayer games and/or Project Rene (since it doesn't sound like it's going to be a traditional Sims game anyway.) Sims 4 doesn't need it and the players don't want it. As for me, I may just keep my game totally offline until after the event so it doesn't interrupt my gameplay. Until the next FOMO-fest comes around, anyway...flying-womrats7 months agoRising Adventurer666Views25likes37CommentsPatches breaking more than they fix.
EA produces lots of video games. But it seems to me that the sims franchise is the only one that has so many issues, complaints, bugs, and needs constant patches. When EA releases patches to fix bugs and add content updates, they end up introducing new bugs. Then players have to wait for hotfixes and new patch updates. I mean, seriously, who wants to update their game when there is a looming possibility of it breaking after the patch? I've played games with bugs before. I mean, sometimes, depending on the bug. the player can take advantage of it during gameplay. Skyrim is an example of a game I've played, where people were making videos demonstrating how to use bugs to enhance gameplay. But to my knowledge, no one has ever mentioned finding a bug in the sims 4 that players could use to their advantage. For example, being able to buy groceries from the vendor stalls in henford for free or university students doing poorly on a presentation, but getting a good grade anyway, or a player selling items from the sim's inventory, but the item remains in the sim's inventory, and they keep selling the same item and getting free simoleons. Instead, there are lists and lists of bugs that break gameplay and then don't get fixed for years. Sometimes, modders release a fix (but not all players use mods) for bugs while players wait for EA to fix it. In the recent patch, EA fixed a bug introduced by discover university, where discovery quests were interrupting event progress. Discover university was released in 2019 and the bug is being fixed in 2024. I mean, how does EA take up to 5 years to fix bugs while wanting players to continue buying DLCs and updating their game (which usually results in new bugs being introduced)?pandacookiesims11 months agoSeasoned Veteran881Views25likes18Comments
