Midsummer Sale New Additions
With the current sale going on, I purchased the Backyard and Vintage Glamour Stuff packs, and First Fits and Country Kitchen kits. Would like some feedback from other Simmers about what their favourite features/game play are from these packs.Moochellie2 days agoNew Scout96Views1like8CommentsThe Sims On Social Media
Some of you may recall I started the Sim Gurus On Twitter thread in 2018 and passed the torch to Duvelina in 2020. She has informed me that she hasn't been including tweets from the official The Sims Twitter (X) so I thought I'd start a thread for info from The Sims. Twitter (X), Facebook, and Instagram. Also info from EA when it relates to TS4. If you're interested you can also check out my announcement threads for The Sims Mobile and The Sims Freeplay. When you start the game, and play a household, you have sims coming over at random times. Being the polite Sim you are you greet them (after all there's no pew pews, unalivings, trafficking, etc...it's relatively safe save for the burglar.), you talk to them for a few moments, if you're a spell caster you turn them into a statue of a rabbit...normal stuff. Well, after one meeting they call you with questions about their love life, who should they date, should they change their jobs. Like, you brought me a fruitcake, ate my food, and said goodbye. NOW you want me to consult you on your love life. I don't even know your name. I don't really care for you, but suddenly you want advice about who you should date. Okay, needy much. I have Claus Vladius (or whatever his name is) calling me up in the middle of the day asking me if he should go out with someone. Like, dude, the first text you sent me told me how nice my neck looked. The only reason I let you into the house the first time was because my watcher accidentally clicked on invite in, instead of beat it butthead. That Or after one meeting "Hey, there's trouble at home, can my entire family stay with you for a few days (free of charge while we eat your food, mess up your home, and destroy everything)..." BTW, don't let Thomas Watson and his family into your house to stay...they will destroy the place. I just let you into my house the first time because you brought food I can't remember which Sims it was, but they cleaned up, did laundry, all of that. Patch Notes: Update 7/29/2025 PC: 1.116.240.1020 / Mac: 1.116.240.1220 Console: Version 2.17 Sul Sul, Simmers, We’re here with an update to address a few of the top concerns you've been sharing with us, including bug fixes, Gallery access for consoles, and improvements to the Ailment system in Enchanted by Nature. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feedback with us, and we’ll continue to review if more tuning is required in the near future. Enchanted by Nature - Ailments Today’s tuning update reduces the frequency of Ailments by up to 75%. To provide more context, there are two primary sources for what causes Ailments—Contagions and Imbalance—and we’ve made improvements to both based on your feedback. With Contagions, we’ve significantly reduced how contagious Ailments are, resulting in Sims contracting an Ailment every 3 days on average instead of the previous 1 day. If your Sim is living in a big household and/or seeing clients as a Naturopath, Ailments will happen about 40-50% less than before. With the Balance system, when a Sim becomes Very Imbalanced, Ailments will appear. We have adjusted the extremes of Balance which affect how frequently Ailments could appear. Previously, witnessing a death and having extreme emotions such as Mortified and Hysterical instantly took away all Balance, causing the Sim to instantly feel Very Imbalanced. Now, extreme emotions still drain Balance faster than regular emotions, but leave time for Sims to react and get proper care. We’re exploring what additional Ailment control could look like, and look forward to hearing your feedback after this update. Enchanted by Nature - Fairy Wings We wanted to share more information about Fairy wings, and when they’re supposed to appear. There are over 360 positions and unique interactions surrounding Fairy wings that our team reviewed and tailored animations for. By design, there are certain activities where Fairy wings will intentionally be tucked away, such as lying down, sitting, or riding a horse. This is to avoid clipping or animation disruptions to complex objects, which could introduce additional technical difficulties to players. If you’re experiencing Fairy wings not showing up after completing several interactions where they should be visible, we would love information via the Forums to aid investigation. Console Connectivity We’ve been investigating reports that some Simmers on consoles have been unable to access the Gallery and claim Event Rewards, and being told an “Online Connection is Required” or seeing only Library on the Main Menu. This is due to a User Agreement pop-up not appearing where it should. We’re working on resolving this and in the meantime, you can restore full access to the Gallery by going to “Game Options” > “Other” select the “Link EA Account” button and an updated User Agreement will display. Accepting the updated agreements will prompt you to restart the game. Selecting “Confirm” will restart the game and restore your connection to the Gallery. As always, make sure you have saved any progress before restarting. Thanks again for all the passion and love for Fairies! -The Sims 4 Team Bug Fixes Enchanted by Nature [EA Forums] Ailments now are less contagious between household Sims and much less contagious from public toilets. This results in Ailments triggering up to 75% less often depending on your household size and other factors. [EA Forums] Balance is now more… balanced. Witnessing death and having extreme emotions such as Mortified and Hysterical no longer cause a Sim to become Very Imbalanced. [EA Forums] For players with Seasons, the Naturopath career now respects holidays so its Sims have the day off. “Sponge Bath in Bathroom” (at The Mossveil Fairy Hub) and “Bathe in Water” (in ponds for Sims with Natural Living Skill) now clean Sims who have been singed by fire. Werewolves [EA Forums] Werewolf noses now have color options once again in Create a Sim. Base Game [EA Forums] During a limited-time event such as Nature’s Calling, Sims now remain at work or school when other household members travel or join a career. Multiple Packs Get to Work Aliens and Sims wearing an outfit from DLC packs no longer look pitch black or have invisible bodies when played in a game that does not have those packs. So anyone else a glutton for punishment? Buying or thinking of buying, even though there are so many outstanding issues/bugs at the moment. Off topic, the fact there is another sale so soon, makes me think that there is high need for more digital sales (not just for Sims). On topic, after EbN gameplay I was pack curious and starting this think, what I'd buy on the next sale—oh and here it is XD What did you buy during the Mid-Summer Sale?HollownessDevour5 days agoSeasoned Ace307Views2likes19Comments[Lifestyle] "Hungry for Love" an Explanation
This lifestyle has frustrated many people trying to get it or keep it. It has been posted several times about not working, being broken or needing to be overhauled. In my game my one Sim could sometimes maintain it and sometimes not (and no matter how much they seemed to do romantic interactions) but I always seemed to have to cheat add it to start with. So I decided to look at the internal files and figure out what the heck is going on. I am an amateur modder, but I tend to be able to figure out tuning files (once I get use to a games files). Let's talk about The Romance Lifestyles, just like many other lifestyles there is polar opposites: Single and Lovin' It, is basically a very slowly earned by default lifestyle; earned simply by not being in a relationship, and otherwise is only—by chance—can be stalled by reading romance novels or watching romantic tv. You might earn this, even if you don't want to—eventually—as long as you aren't capped for lifestyles. If you don't want this lifestyle, you only need to be in a relationship—plain and simple. Hungry for Love, from what I can see... romantic interaction don't seem to play much or any part of it at all. What people are probably getting confused or frustrated about is how you earn this lifestyle. Chance! from what I see the only way to get this lifestyle is a success in chance from 3 different actions. 2 are from just reading romance novels/watching romantic tv, which if you trigger successfully (once or twice) daily you'll gain this lifestyle fast enough and maintain. The other way to get a chance is a passively if/when you wake up, and are in a romantic relationship (less sleep with traits/potions/coffee/etc. hurt this). Autonomy is probably not going to help you, if your Sim doesn't have the Romantic trait and autonomously reads/watches romantic media (and in some cases, some people play households without TVs making it even harder)—this lifestyle is a lot of work. Let's talk about The Friend Lifestyles: Now compare to Close-Knit and People Person, these are easy enough to get one or the other (or change if you really want to). It is a simple set up of 1-3 friends = Close-Knit, and 4+ you get People Person. Not exactly much depth (and the amounts aren't great) but easy enough, and again these are other default earning lifestyles—that you will eventually earn. Only way to avoid is 0 friends or are capped for lifestyles. Conclusion: it isn't broken...?—it just wasn't set up great. What is misleading was the romantic interactions counting towards the lifestyle, and may only be used for unlocking purposes. But enough of it works, so that is probably why all posts complaining have been pretty much ignored? IMO, yes, it should be tweaked to overhauled. I have been working with the tuning files to make this lifestyle better and testing like crazy, because as-is, leaves much to be desired XDHollownessDevour6 days agoSeasoned Ace80Views2likes4CommentsForm an enchanted bond?

Follow the whispers on the wind and unlock new woodworking and nature-themed rewards, including the new Reclaimed Woodworking Table, just for logging in! Get ready for a free, limited-time Event that begins on June 24, 2025 at 9 a.m. PST and ends on August 5, 2025, where you’ll need to venture into the great outdoors and hone your handiness skill to discover a long-hidden secret of nature. One fateful day, you hear a faint voice as you step outside. The voice is fleeting and is soon gone, as if carried away by the wind itself. Still, you long to hear it again, and so you journey forth to discover the source of the whispers. Your adventure will be rewarded throughout the Event with new free items such as The Wooden Throne outhouse. This new off-the-grid toilet can be the perfect place for Sims to handle their business out of doors, or even a spot for a little restroom rendezvous! How Does it Work? Open Live Mode with an existing or new Household. Your Sim will soon hear barely audible whispers in the wind, encouraging them to spend time outdoors and get in touch with nature, all with the hopes of hearing the mysterious voice again. As you progress, you’ll spend more time outdoors, level up your handiness with new woodworking recipes, and uncover the mysteries of nature. The more Quests you complete, the more Event Points and rewards you’ll earn. The Event will run for six weeks in total, with two new and exciting Quests each week for the first four weeks. The final two weeks of the Event is a grace period, where Simmers can catch-up, continue completing Quests, and claiming their rewards. How to take part in the Nature’s Calling Event: Make sure you’re online. Log in to your EA account. Enter Live Mode, where you’ll see the first pair of Quests, which start with a pop-up. In Live Mode, access the Event Screen by clicking on the Event Icon! Earn Event Points by completing Quests and Goals. As you earn Event Points, you’ll be able to claim new rewards. Claim your rewards through the Event Screen in the Main Menu or Live Mode by selecting Claim. Note: You must be in Live Mode to claim Consumable rewards. Claimed rewards will be available in Build Mode, Create a Sim, your Sim’s Personal Inventory, or the Household Inventory. Filter to view Event rewards using the Event Rewards filter. Find this under the Special drop-down in both Create a Sim and Build Mode. For more help with claiming rewards, check out our EA Help article. Each week, two new Quests will be available. Complete these Quests to earn more Event Points and unlock new rewards! Nature’s Calling Optional Goals Throughout the Nature’s Calling Event, you’ll have opportunities to earn extra Event Points through Optional Goals. These Optional Goals require you to own certain The Sims 4™ Expansion Packs in order to complete them. But fret not! None of these goals are required to complete the Nature’s Calling Quests and all non-consumable rewards will be earnable by all Simmers. Completing these goals will simply award bonus Event Points, allowing you to unlock rewards slightly faster and claim additional consumable rewards. These Optional Goals will be clearly denoted in the Quest panel. Note: Simmers who own the featured Expansion Packs will not be required to complete Option Goals in order to complete Quests. However, if all of the Required Goals for a Quest are completed prior to the completion of an Optional Goal, the Quest will be completed, and the Optional Goal will be lost, along with its associated Event Points. We recommend that Simmers prioritize the Optional Goals first before moving on to the Required Goals for a Quest. Expansion Packs featured in the Nature’s Calling Event Optional Goals include: The Sims™ 4 Cats & Dogs The Sims™ 4 Snowy Escape The Sims™ 4 Horse Ranch Expansion Pack The Sims™ 4 Lovestruck Week 1 Do-it-yourself with the Reclaimed Woodworking Table! Ignacio Robles just woohoo'd to death
I did not know that sims could woohoo to death. So, he called my sim (blind date) they hit it off perfectly, had a fine date (not perfect) and they woohoo'd (a couple of times - once in the bed, once in the bush, and once in the bed - again ). This resulted in her becoming pregnant (I'm beginning to think she's easy). But, I went to check - she took a pregnancy test and it was positive. I went to find Ignacio and he was on the floor. I was thinking he just passed out on the floor, but Grimmy came and she pleaded but nope, he was dead. I did NOT know that they could woohoo to death. Plus, she has a moodlet that reads it wasn't that great. So now she is pregnant with a dead man's child, going to have to raise it on her own, and now she has to plan a funeral. This is their first date. I mean at least wait for the second or third date to kick the bucket, shuffle off these mortal coils, push up daisies, bite the big one, knock on heaven's door.mikkimouse19788 days agoSeasoned Hotshot172Views12likes8Comments- velakeenna8 days agoSeasoned Newcomer166Views3likes6Comments
Pull To Stand Milestone Tip
This milestone was a real pain for various reasons, but I finally figured out a way to get it to work consistently. Once the child has the learned to crawl milestone, make sure their motives are fully in the green because you do not want them to be tired for this. Practice learn to stand two or three times in an open space. You should get a sentiment pop up from the child while doing so. Once that happens, put the child in their crib and they should pull to stand and get the milestone pretty quickly. If you're having problems with milestones happening and only making the child glow but they don't actually get the milestone, my fix is to take a vacation in Granite Springs and rent the large cabin for a day or however long you want. Take portable crib and a tummy time mat. I was just having this problem yet again and this method works for me. Any location would probably do as I have also done in in family members house. I just find the vacation rental more convenient it is nice not having other sims there interfering. I actually renovated the big house in granite springs and added cribs, a tummy mat, pet stuff, better beds and well, all sorts of stuff. Now it is ready and waiting for whatever I want it for and I hope this works for someone else in need. Have fun and enjoy! 🖖Nightgypsy8 days agoSeasoned Ace44Views5likes0Comments[Discussion] Trait Combinations, Lifestyles & Item/Object Pairing Investigation
Every once in a while I see on the EA forums or Reddit there is a Trait Combinations thread. May it be what is your favourite, what is the most chaotic and what is the best. But most of the times I see one of a few things end up being the conclusion, 1: is that traits play no real part or no real difference in the game, 2: people choose randomized and stick with it, or 3: they opt out of the most detested traits. As I have only been playing Sims 4 since L&D aka earlier this year, I haven't really had a chance to have these conversations and I just look up old zombie threads most of which do not have much on the new traits. So I propose a small community collaboration project reporting findings on certain trait combinations with or without Lifestyle or item/object support. Anyone can report findings! To make this easier to report/review let's use a response format: Traits: <list traits used here, feel free to include occult type, reward, aspiration, etc. traits> Lifestyles: <if used, by cheats or earning properly> Items/Objects: <list of items on Sim or objects place for Sim to help encourage trait synergy> Plan: <what you think or hope will happen> Results: <what actually happened> Rating: <out of 10 how did the combination fair?> Conclusion: <Any additional thoughts>329Views6likes15CommentsWhat are your opinions about "Journey to Batuu"?
I'm not a super Star Wars fan - the original films I love (but they have Harrison Ford in them and I love him - but I have never been into the newer films. That being said, that and my first pets are the only two packs I don't have. Now my Compulsive nature is telling me to purchase it to complete the collection and have that extra world, but my frugal side is saying not to. I've heard that it wasn't really the best pack out there and it might just be a waste of money. So, for someone who is not a super Star Wars fan, would it be advisable to get this pack. Also, what are your opinions about My First Pet. I've heard mixed reviews about this as well.
