What happened in your game today?
Hi everyone! I hope you're all enjoying the new forum so far. I know I am!! I'm Charla, a big fan of The Sims 4! ☺️ I was going to join on the old one, but, as it only had a week left I decided to wait until today. I loved lurking on the what happened in your game today thread so I thought would create a new one here. So what's happened in your game today? Today in my game I was playing as a character I created, Lauren Lord. She's an young adult, who dreams of being an author and a mom. Currently she's working as a school teacher, but today she had no work, she stayed at home and played chess and tended to her plants (when it wasn't raining!). I also made this new Sim :) hope the pic works! Look forward to seeing what's happening in your games. X
Townie Fashion Police
Sul sul, Simmers. Townie Fashion Police was one of my favorite threads in the "old forum." It was always good for a few laughs. Z and I think it's time to bring it back, and so does our friend Daniel. When your festival attire is more outlandish than that of the cosplayer you're sitting with, that's a job for the Townie Fashion Police. "What did I do to deserve this?" Daniel asks the camera. At least he has a tasty cheeseburger to enjoy.
Breaking That Fourth Wall
I caught a really cute picture that made me think this would be a fun thread. Please post pictures of your Sim(s) that you caught breaking that proverbial fourth wall. For those who may be unsure of what this theatrical term means, it's when the Sim appears to be looking right at the player. Here is the picture I found so adorable. Do you ever capture pictures from fun or awkward situations in your game? Often my sims will make me smile just because they did position weirdly, making a totally normal situation look funny. - Hello again, Hairdresser, I got a complaint! Your solution turned out to be unpractical. Are you sure I can't have a ponytail, without the horse?

I already stated that Ermelinda Abrantes has become a favorite. When exploring her house in Verdemar, I tried looking for bits of her story. First thing we all noticed is her pasion for the teal green color. Verdemar means the green sea, so this makes sense, but also ties Ermelinda to a history including the sea. On the wall behind her throne is a ship's steering wheel, underlining this. Was she sailing around in her younger years? There are many details in this house pointing to a maritime story. The deco ship on the sitting room table is just one of them. There is also the bust of Cornelia. I wonder why the Abrantes family has this statue? And what about the many paintings with a jazz motif, that was one of Princess Cordelia I's big interests? There is also the painting created by Cordelia herself, "Land-Coral Garden". Such paintings are found in several builds of Ondarion, so it might not be unique for the Abrantes home, but still... First I thought the Abrantes dynasty was at least a few generations old, but no. According to Ermelinda's milestones it was founded by her, before the birth of her two children. So, let's say it's 30-50 years old? There is no milestone directing to a husband or marriage, meaning maybe Ermelinda was never married to her children's father. Or were there more than one man in her life? It feels like her ways are quite similar as the Thebe line. Hardly any father to all those Cordelia girls are known, either. Does the strong tie to the green, suggest that the Abrantes family had a central position in Verdemar, explaining the Thebe rivalry? My main impression from checking out Ermelinda's house is that I get the feeling that a Cordelia could very well have lived in this house. They feel like two versions of one and the same... Do the two have more in common than we know? Could it even be that Ermelinda descends from a former Cordelia? A few generations back of course, or her son could not marry Cordelia V. Or was the Abrantes house simply designed with Cordelia in mind? Or is all this random? Anyone else out there pondering about these things? :)
If you had it all to do over again...
Knowing what you know now, what additional content (Not Mods or Custom Content, just EP's and GP's and SP's and kits) would you NOT put into your game this time around? For me it's pretty much High School Years, Journey to Baatu and My Wedding Story. I'd have to think about some of the others, but I know I don't want those three back in my game. HSY and MWS are just either borked or too tedious. And Journey to Baatu is just...Ugh. "Fluff" aka "Filler" aka not worth the space on my computer (Or in this case, external hard drive). What other sorts of things would you do differently if you had it all to do over again knowing what you know now?
Challenges to do
I've started getting a bit bored doing regular things in the sims 4 and I'm looking for some challenges, the only packs I currently own is Seasons and Cottage living, and if you wanna count it i also got backyard stuff, romantic garden stuff, my first pet stuff and the holiday celebration, I've never been a big fan of the 100 babies challenge so I'm looking for other recommendations on challenges

Farewell SDX and Offline mode !
Hi, Marketplace has replaced Sims Delivery Express and it's no longer possible to disable Online Social Features Access (Turning off Gallery, Events and Shopping Cart notifications). SDX was introduced in 2021. (Blog article : https://www.ea.com/news/sims-411-recap-oct-29-2021 )
How do you make peace with the randomly generated sims?
I have realised that the reason I can't move beyond about 3 generations in any legacy is that I actually spend hours more on making over the randomly generated sims, and also making over the randomly generated outfits when unplayed premades age-up, than I do actually in game play. Yes, it is a me problem that I can't make peace with the, let's face it, clowns the game randomly generates to fill NPC roles, etc. I don't even let my sims visit bars anymore because they generate thousands of "bar regulars". So far, my coping techniques have been mods, but I still find these are hit-or-miss (especially since career outfits don't retain the hairstyle from the makeover). I need advice then, from people who are able to continue to play (particularly long legacies) despite the state of the randomly generated 'clowns' the game creates after the original premades die off. How do you just remain unbothered? I really want to do a legacy challenge, but this petty irritation keeps me from getting interested in multi-generational saves.a open letter
im not knew to the sims i have played the sims since the start but i cant handle it anymore i have cerebal palsy and other disabilties chonic pain and c PTSD the sims is my escape and now my game is broke i have tried everything im so sad i have cried and im 46 years old they need to make it so updates can be optional it is not fair to simmers
