Vulkan initialization error message
I keep getting the message: "we are unable to find a suitable vulkan device on this machine. Please update your graphic card drivers and try again." I have an intel HD 5500 graphics driver updated my computer (Windows 10) checked for updates for graphics driver (none available) uninstalled and reinstalled Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable x86 and x64 uninstalled and reinstalled the game repaired the game I do not have opencl, opengl, or vulkan compatibility pack installed on my computer. I'm at a loss, and from what I can see my graphics processor seems to be incompatible with sims legacy as it stands. Will EA fix this? It seems to be a problem for many people and I don't understand why this cannot be fixed given that my computer runs the other sims games fine... This is very disappointing! Any further suggestions or hope for a fix?
Serious error has occurred loading world
when I try to play sims 3 I get the error “a serious error has occurred while loading <world name>, ive tried everything from turning off my one drive syncing, turning off the virus scanning/protection. I’ve also changed the name of the file so a new one loads and it works once but once I exits and try to load it again it does the same thing
Sims 1 LC - Missing Vacation Icon
Hey, another bug, the Vacation icon is supposed to display over the house of a household that is on Vacation, but it does not show in the Legacy Collection, here is the intended behaviour on Complete Collection: The Icon should fade in when hovering over the house, and the roof should not fade in.
Make UKEnglish version of The Sims 1 legacy to use 24H clock
(Post is about The Sims 1) Maybe I'm just too old and remember it wrong, but as far as I remember, in The Sims 2, the USEnglish uses 12H clock and UKEnglish 24H clock. Right now there are 2 absolutely identical game locales in The Sims 1 Legacy with the same text and almost no differences (except Vacation being called On Holiday in some places), and both US and UK English use 12H clock. It would be nice if UKEnglish would use 24H clock instead of the 12. Yes, in UK there are 2 systems officially used, 24 and 12, but this way you could allow the people who want to play in English and use 24H clock a convenient option to change language to UKEnglish. Who want still use 12H clock could change the lang to USEnglish and vice-versa. There is a HUGE AMOUNT of players for which English is not a native language and they have no localized version for their language, so they play in English. But the 12-hour system may be very inconvenient for the foreigners. I personally speak English very well, but I would be happy to play the game in English but with the 24H clock. Adding it to UKEnglish would be a best way to use it. As alternative there would be implemented a new game option to use 24 or 12-hour clock system. Also, the more convenient option to change game language in-game would be great.Remove regional differences in NBHD Screen / Unblock all music for non-US locale
Right now there is a difference when you play The Sims 1 Legacy using English language or any other: ENGLISH: the random track from \The Sims Legacy\Music\Modes\NhoodUS plays every time you visit the Neighborhood Screen, including: latin6.mp3 latin7.mp3 nhood1.mp3 nhood2.mp3 nhood3.mp3 - the iconic one which is absent in other languages ALL OTHER LANGUAGES: the random track from \The Sims Legacy\Music\Modes\Nhood plays every time you visit the Neighborhood Screen, including: latin2.mp3 latin4.mp3 latin6.mp3 latin7.mp3 so it basically plays Latin America style music even with European locales. What is the special need for this kind of segregation? in other the sims iterations there is small changes like clockwise or not road traffic, but not the music. Just include the all tracks in all locales, that would be fair. I think that nhood3.mp3 is the iconic one because the music matches the motifs of skill leveling up notification sound. And it exists only in English version. I'm also not sure that there is any sense at having different images with this black (World) or gray (US) asphalte roads in NBHD Screen like NScreen_unleashed.bmp and NScreen_unleashed_nonus.bmp from \The Sims Legacy\UIGraphics\Community. The black looks closer to the actual in-game lots using black asphalte tiles, and the US version has the gray asphalte and the road marks. If only black version could have these marks it would be perfect. Right now black roads looks unnatural without these separation lines.
Sims 1 Legacy Edition crashing and restarting computer
Today, I purchased The Sims 1 and I was so excited to play. I started the game, and after around 10mins of gameplay it crashes and my computer restarts. It done this 7 times. I've done all I can find online to try and fix it, but nothing is working. The Sims 2, The Sims 3 and The Sims 3 all work perfectly fine. It's just seemingly The Sims 1. When it crashes, my laptop screen goes blue and says "your device ran into a problem, we will restart the device now." It's so frustrating, cause people have spent a lot of money. Myself included.
Sims 1 nonsense
I'm not sure where the screenshots go but it has been fun to try it, I remember when I was younger I had a couple expansions but my computer couldn't really handle it then my copy broke when I got sims 2. Couldn't do anything to get it to run it has had some issues but I can play I'm just trying to figure things out and I need to explore the expansions I've never seen."FIXME: WMP" Red Screen in The Sims 1 – Stuck After EA Logo
Hi. Unfortunately I am unable to play this version of the game. The game launches but gets stuck on a red screen with a "FIXME: WMP" error. You can hear the EA logo sound, but nothing else happens. A similar issue occurs on the Steam Deck, but there, the game eventually loads past it. Unfortunately, this doesn't happen on Windows 10. The WMP fix utility didn't help, and installing Windows Media Player isn't possible. My PC is on Windows 10, newest build. CPU i5, GPU GeForce GTX 3060.
Sims Legacy possible memory leak?
Hi all, My mum recently bought the Sims 1 Legacy Collection and was complaining it would randomly crash after 30 minutes or-so, regardless of what she was doing, live mode, build mode, etc. So I decided to give it a go myself on her computer (It's got some kind of 13th gen intel processor utilising Intel's onboard UHD 730 graphics and 8GB of RAM) with the resource monitor and no other programs running in the background; To begin with, the game was using ~5GB of RAM, which is fine. But every 10 minutes or-so the RAM usage had gone up by another gigabyte until after about 30 minutes it was sitting at 7.8GB usage before the game suddenly crashed with no error message, locking up the whole system and requiring a full system reboot. To me this seems symptomatic of a memory leak within the program, as this doesn't happen with any other games or programs she uses. She often plays the Sims 3 for a couple of hours at a time with no problems whatsoever. Anyone else experiencing this?
The Sims 1 Legacy won't launch at all
I've installed The Sims 1 Legacy on Ea App, however it won't launch at all, I googled the solution and tried to fix accordingly ( downloaded the latest Visual C++) and nothing worked. I'm now so disappointed to have paid in full and not being able to play at all. Can someone please help? This is the message I get the game was unable to find a suitable vulkan device on this machine. Please update your graphic card drivers and try again I'm running on an old pc, Windows 10.
Small playable window on Sims 1 Legacy?
Hi all, I'm aware that this is a common issue but for me Alt + Enter does nothing -- it just sets the game to windowed mode but the screen resolution stays the same. Every other fix I've come across on here/Steam/Reddit is so overconvoluted that I don't even understand how to do it. Can someone help me?
English splash screen has a visual glitch
The English logo has a glitch not present in any of the other languages. There are two effects applied to it: • a heavy "drop shadow" that creates a big dark blur in the shape of the logo at a set offset; • a small "outer shadow" that creates a small blur directly around the red edges. This outer shadow effect is glitched. The transparency didn't render, creating second white outline around the red shape: The outer shadow is present in other languages and was correctly rendered on their respective splash screens: It's a minor issue, but since it's simply a bmp file it is also really easy to fix :)Sims 1 Legacy (npc names problem?)
Im playing on polish language version and this happend in every town (especially on vacation towns tested) All new NPC i meet on vacation (town probably too) are same name, dosnt matter if is woman or man. They call "Filip" holy fk... 25 year game Can someone fix it?
The Sims: Legacy Collection – Sim Thumbnail Stuck with Headphones
After recording in Studio Town, the sim thumbnail bugged, showing them wearing headphones in conversation icons, reactions etc. To fix it, you need to change the outfit in the wardrobe. This issue did not occur in The Sims: Complete Collection I don't use any mods or CC in my game
