Performance issues, lagging, delays, stuttering
Hello Sims lovers! I recently purchased the Sims 1 Legacy Collection on Steam with the hope of bringing back great memories. Haven't faced any issues with crashes. However, I am noticing consistent lagging. Even without visiting the community lots and just having one sim at home, these performance issues are very noticeable and preventing an enjoyable gaming experience. I tried running the game in lowest resolution options, windowed option, updating graphics drivers, tweaking the launch options in Steam, running in compatibility modes, etc. So far, couldn't manage to run the game smoothly, which is weird and frustrating because I also have the SimCity 4 Deluxe, and it runs very well on my system. Any help/advice is much appreciated 🙏. DxDiag file is attached.
Error with the Boggs Home Canning Center
Hi, first of all sorry for my poor English. I have experienced a strange error with this item. Once I have made the preserves, I click on the item and I see these debug options. Actually the functions are correct, I can sell or preserve the jams but the text is wrong. My game is in Italian. Can you please fix it? Thanks :)Sims portraits still look like floating heads
Sims portraits sadly still don't look like the original ones, here is a comparison between TS1 latest version and the original Roomies family. The original ones the faces aren't floating and feel out-of-place while the new re-render still look odd. Old The Sims Legacy The SimsGrass on main screen not the same as the map
Hello there! I've noticed that since the Legacy release all lots look different from the normal grass in the old version. Here you have an example, the houses I've played in the new Legacy version have a border and the grass looks lighter, while the grass on the houses I haven't played look normal and fit with the green of the map
Wrong Build/Buy mode music
Hi, the game is working pretty well for me. But a few weeks ago I noticed that the original sims build and buy mode music isn't the same as the old 50s shopping/piano music that it was on launch in February. I can't find anyone else with this problem. Most of the time the game will play this jazz-type music which I really don't like and had never heard before 🤔 ... occasionally it will go back to the original music, but most of the time it's the strange jazz music that plays during build/buy mode. It's very odd. This is just in the normal neighborhoods, the music in Studio town, etc are as they have always been. I wonder if it's music from another expansion.
Microstuttering in the Sims 1
I've been playing Sims 1 from the EA app since the day it dropped just fine. But sometime in one of last month's updates it has started to stutter every few seconds during gameplay. I've gotten the latest update but it's still not fixed. I also own the game on Steam and that version has the same problem. It's only stuttering on my laptop though and runs perfectly fine on my Steam Deck. My laptop meets the minimum specs. Windows 10 with a Nvidia GTX 1650 GPU. I asked about this in the official discord and was asked to report the problem here. Hopefully I can give you guys any info needed to track down the problem. Thanks in advance.
Plants are going invisible when they die.
As the title suggests if my plants die in the garden, they go invisible. Not all plants do this, but it does do this often and it's very annoying as demonstrated in the screenshot below. Only way to get the plant to come back is for the gardener to come bring out Servo, but the gardener has an issue where she stops showing up altogether.Sims - The Legacy Update Problem
Hi, I got on this morning to have a bit of play time and was forced to update, since I have done this, I can't play the game, it just flashes & flashes, if I'm fast, I can close it. I have uninstalled the game and EA games app, then reinstalled, btw I can play Sims 4 (which I hate) without any graphic issues. I have searched for someone else with this problem, nothing :( Any assistance would be appreciated as it appears nigh on impossible to get an answer from EA games themselves. Help!
Odd spawn point when Sim comes home from work or school (Sims 1 Legacy)
I noticed a minor bug, nothing game breaking, but when my Sim comes home from work or a kid comes home from school, they don't automatically spawn. I have to click their faces in the family and then they spawn by the mailbox rather than by the vehicle they exited. Happy to create a screen recording. Cheers, [Purchased via Steam]
Experiencing frequent lagging and shuddering after recent update for Sims 1.
I don't like having to complain on these forums but I'm not seeing any solution to the issues after these updates. My last post was about the UI scaling being too small and really difficult to see. This was the only issue that I really had apart from the game crashing whenever the burglar turned up. However, the burglar thing was resolved. After the last update I saw no improvement to the UI size but only more issues. Even when i changed the settings in the game. Since the update, my game is now lagging quite a lot and shuddering. It's jerky as and it was working completely fine before this update so its NOT my PC and I'm getting annoyed with EA assuming it is. It's not just me experiencing that. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game 3 times, I've removed custom content and nothing has fixed the issue. I'm disappointed because the sims 1 is one of my favourites and now I can't even play it because of this shuddering. Its just too frustrating. Edge scrolling still doesn't work now either when it did before the update. Can you please just figure it out and fix it already. Here's a tip. Before you release a game, get a whole heap of people from the general public to test the game on their personal PCs so you can see how it goes for all different systems/set ups. In fact, I'd be happy to test it for free myself with my friends. It's not hard and then you could release the games confidently so you don't have to be harassed from us gamers lol. I'm sorry but I don't understand how such a massive company doesn't consider this. If it's about the money, people will be happy to spend more if you give the people what they want. Simple.
questions regarding a slur in the sims 1 and 2
hello, this post is more aimed at the actual sims team, but i want to confirm something as you have started reselling the sims 1 and 2 for modern devices. In both of these games, they have the g word ( a word used against roma people). Has this been removed from the games before them being republished?
Sims 1, will I ever play ?
I've been searching for answers since the day this came out! I've looked all over the internet for months, tried several suggestions and here I still am! No game and not happy! Please someone help me! I get the Vulkan error code. my drivers are updated, please dont refer me back the main thread of this known issue. As the title suggests. Stuttering all the time even with minimal sims in the lot. Cursor flashes when moving it through any interactable object before even starting to select interactions. My machine confortably passes min specs. Tried multiple solutions to no avail, including running as admin, changing graphics card to integrated, different resolutions, windowed mode. Gforce GTX1050, i5 2.50ghz, 16GB RAM. Fine before patch #6 on Steam.
Ghosts should wake up Sims again

Military Career won't progress
Recently streamed the game and recorded it (will eventually be on Youtube). One of my Sims has the Military career choice. Currently has enough points in his skillset to progress, and a couple friends, but he's still stuck in recruit mode despite going to work generally happy. Other characters have been able to move forward in their careers (sports, entertainment and criminal, respectively); can't seem to find anything specific about it but, yeah. This is for the PC edition of the Sims 1 Legacy collection on Steam.
Unable to install the Sims Complete Collection (2005), help please?
So initially I insert disc 1 into the cd drive of course and click the pop up, then allow the installer to pop up. When in the menu I select 'install' of the options. After this point the menu freezes up and nothing else can be done from what I can tell, other than closing out of it. Wtf Trying to install on Windows 10, btw. Thanks for any assistance.
