[UPDATE] EA Account Banned - Battlefield 6 (Steam, PC)
Hi all, I wanted to post an update on the situation that myself and seemingly many others are going through. Context: on Sunday, Oct.12 I had my account disabled and banned from playing Battlefield 6. I bought it through steam, played about 4 hours of multiplayer, and about 10 minutes of the campaign. During the campaign, my game crashed. When I rebooted, I found a message that my account has been banned. Since then, the following has happened: I've spoken to an agent through EA Advisor - they told me it's EA's Terms of Service team that takes care of these bans. I opened case 1: It's been transferred about 5 times since Sunday, and is still sitting under my cases. I opened case 2: during the lifecycle of this case, a "gameplay enhancement" ban did appear under my penalty history, but then I got an email from EA saying they're closing it since it's a duplicate. My ban then disappeared from my penalty history. I keep receiving emails from EA regarding the game as if I'm an active player (attached to the post): The above email came in 14 hours ago. After scouring the forums and thorough online investigation, I still have no idea what about my system could've triggered the ban. I have never cheated, wanted to cheat, or done anything that would've violated EA's terms of service. The two potential culprits I found (unconfirmed, and according to the web) that could've done this are: NVIDIA Overlay - used for my GPU SignalRGB - used for my physical PC LEDs Razer Synapse - used for my headset The friends that I've been desperately wanting to play with run the exact same software as me, and have had no issues. I have been an EA player for 12 years, and have played BF3, BF4, BF1, BF2042 with no issue. I used Playstation for 3&4, and then PC for the rest of them. Please help raise awareness for this or provide advice. We've been fighting this issue for way too long with no resolution. I'm not sure where to put this, but I guess this is a place to start. I just read that a consortium has agreed to buy EA in a 55 billion dollar deal, taking the company private. It is a group of companies that includes Saudi Arabia (which I read already owns a 10% interest in EA) and a group led by Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law. This is all over the news right now but I haven't seen it mentioned here. I am wondering what other players' thoughts are about this, and what we think the future might hold for The Sims. I have worked at a company that had the opposite happen, where the company was private, then was sold to investors and taken public, and that didn't go very well. They made a lot of promises that things wouldn't change, but they did start changing things right away, and a lot of long-time employees quit. It sounds like the sports aspects of EA is a big factor in the deal, so I'm worried that they might just dump The Sims or not give it much love. This is all coming out right when the new pack is set to drop, and now I'm not sure I even want to buy it, if I don't know what the future is going to hold. So basically, a long time ago I had an EA account, that account was linked to both my Xbox account and an old yahoo email. However I can't login to that old account, I can't delete that old account, and I can't unlink that old account from my Xbox account. I can very easily prove ownership of the Xbox/Microsoft account but I just have this dead link to nothing that I can't remove. To preface again with emphasis, I cannot access this old EA account, no way to recover it as both the recovery email and recovery phone number are over a decade old and no longer in use/deleted. How can I unlink this dead account from my Xbox account? Do I have to ask Microsoft to do it or do I have to go through EA? It's really annoying trying to play EA games and not having access to things because an old dead account is linked with nothing for me to do about it. Edit: Some additional info, I have already tried to link this new EA account I am posting with to my Xbox account and it won't let me as it says the Xbox account is already linked.Solved1.1KViews3likes27CommentsWhere is the option to contact live chat support? A few days ago I tried to login into my old account to unlink steam. The problem is ea doesn't send me 2fa verification code. I contacted support and they sent me this link and said to reach live chat support (Screenshot 1) There is no option to contact live chat there. After that they just closed my case. So I opened a new one where I spesifically stated that I need to contact with live chat support. After waiting for another 2 days thay send me this (Screenshot 2) Link is different now but it literally goes to the same page. The case status is now "whaiting on player". Like what do you want from me? THERE IS NO OPTION to contact live chat. I wrote it in my case. What exactly does your support team not understand? At this point I am not even sure that these cases are beign reviewed by real people. And the fact that I have to wait 2 days for each of these responses... I have all required information to login into my account. This problem isn't coming from my side. For the past month ive been trying to change my main email for this account, but whenever it sends a code to verify, I don't get it. Ive tried looking into the spam folder and everywhere else. Hello. I have been having this issue for about 2-3 months now. Whenever I log in to the EA App, the side bar that has my profile and my online/offline status does not load but stays grey. This would not be an issue, accept that this stops me from accessing online features in my games as it reads my account as offline. I have tried to restart the app, used the app recovery, and uninstalling/reinstalling it. Uninstalling/reinstalling helped for about 3 hours where the side bar loaded and I was able to access my games online features. However, after that, it went dark again and has not loaded since. To clarify, the EA app itself isn't offline (it does not have the "you're in offline mode" page). I have a stable Wi-Fi connection, so I know that is not the issue either. I have tried every other troubleshooting tip I have found and nothing has worked as a long term solution. This is starting to really annoy me and I hope that someone here might be able to help. I got a new computer and I'm trying to move my account over. I know my password and info since I use it often, but it's asking for an emailed code verification. The email is correct, but I haven't received any emails. I tried using EA help for it, but that also asked for verification even though it's already logged in. I already found the discussion using the POGO thing and the picture said to click profile and then my EA account. I don't have the EA account option? My account is old but still used nearly every day, and I've gotten a new computer before and never had this issue. Hey everyone Since the last update the game keeps the same error : An error has occurred and you are no longer synced with the online match. It's been already 3 days and nothing has changed, EA ignores everyone and won't even make a statement about what is happening, hundred of thousands players can't play the game for more than 30 seconds more or less and get the same error. I mean what's the point of paying for EA Play Pro when you can't actually play the game you are paying them for. I am considering not to sub again till the game error is fixed and i think thousands other will do the same, the last 3 days the game just won't work and we already paid for the sub EA Play Pro. Hello, I hope you're doing well. I'm trying to update the email address associated with my EA account, but I keep receiving the following error: "We can't complete your request. Your email address could be invalid or you may have recently updated it." I've double-checked the format of the new email and confirmed that it's valid and not already linked to another EA account. Anybody have any luck at all...? If they look at my account history I have zero history of cheating... I played in bot-backfilled portal lobbies in my off-time when I didnt want to commit to full games which I kinda figured was the sensible thing to do. Edit 2: For anyone unable to appeal, please scroll to the bottom of this thread. I am at a loss for words. I purchased the game yesterday, to preload it and to play it today. Only to find that I am, just like a tonne of other people, stuck in a bug because of the game content not being recognized. I tried to play one or two games via the community and ended up leaving because I got stuck in a spawn trap. Coming back later in hopes the game would get fixed, and I can play with my friends. About an hour later, I get an e-mail that I am suspended?? Trying to launch the game, I see this; I follow the "ban history" / "Penalty history" link to find out what in the world is going on, and I am brought to a page that says this???: And then when following the "webform" that is linked on their ban appeal page, FAQ and this forum Ban info from this forum, it brings me to a generic FAQ help page where it redirects me back to the ban history tool where it shows no ban! : In other words, I am stuck in a loop, haven't played 1 minute of the actual game and can't appeal. For the love of god, help me! I want to play the game! Edit 2: Hi Guys, User Gripen888 found a way to appeal, even if the ban doesn't show in the penalty-history. Go the the EA help pages and make sure to log-out or clear cookies. Then use the "Continue as a guest" option. https://help.ea.com/en/customer-care/ You can then go through the motions of filling in the form, as usual, appealing the ban. From there, a new option "Contact us via email" will pop up.
