Alphabet SuperLegacy Challenge Rules
This is a legacy challenge where each generation represents a different letter, and must explore all of the game play starting with that letter: aspirations, collections, woohoo spots, reward store traits, you name it. I already have athread for this challenge that has been updated through Crystal Creations. Since it was transferred from the old forum, it's very hard to update further. It's past time I added game play from Lovestruck to this challenge, so I'm starting a new thread. Here are the general rules: Ignore any objective related to a pack you don’t own. You can choose to skip a generation if your pack limitations leave it extremely short on content. I've removed three of the letters (Q,U,Y) from the challenge because they don't have much to do, even with all the packs. No cheat codes that help you move through your objectives faster. No rules about aging. No rules governing non-heirs. Just because one generation has something as an objective, doesn’t mean that other generations can’t do it for fun/convenience. If you don’t have at least three traits in the assigned letter, you have to randomize the rest. No self-discovery traits starting with a different letter. Each heir's name, and that of any pets they have, must begin with their letter. Likes and Dislikes: The heir can only have the likes/dislikes assigned to their generation. Color preferences are assigned when they age up to Child. From that point forward, all the heir's outfits will reflect their color preferences. If you decorate a space for them, you must consider their color preferences. Fashion and interior design preferences are assigned when they age up to teen (if you have those packs). From that point forward, all their outfits and decorated spaces will reflect their style preferences. Lot Traits and Challenges: The heir must have all of their assigned lot challenges equipped in all of their designated residences. If the heir has three assigned lot traits or less, they also must be assigned. If the heir has four or more lot traits, they have to change upwhich three are in play. The heir's transitional aspirations (the ones that decide the bonus traits) have to be aspirations from their generation, unless they don't have two aspirations. At the start of the challenge, the Gen 1 "founder" will be very young, so you will need to give them at least one parent. Help! I Want to Start a Legacy
Hello, other simmers! I want to start a legacy, but I am having trouble picking a sim. I want to be able to share some of my gameplay here at the forum. Here are some of my thoughts, plus the pros and cons. Option #1: Continue with the Strollers Eartha and her husband Gavin adopted four children while living in a small house in Sulani. Then, the couple had three children of their own. Pros: Already started. There is material to work with Cons: Already started. Half the children are gone already. Option #2: Growing Up Landgraab Helena is the daughter of the deceased Cassandra Goth and Malcolm Landgraab. Malcolm thought that caring for a baby was annoying, so he left her on Eartha's doorstep. Now, Helena is grown and studying to be an actress. Meanwhile, she is learning the secrets of ambrosia. Pros: I love this character. She's lots of fun. Cons: Already started - but that is not too much of a drawback. There are still lots of places where her story can go. Option #3: Greek Mythology Legacy with Chaos Chaos, a former astronaut, lands on a vacant world with nothing but a makeshift shelter and a handful of seeds. Oh, and she's allergic to the sun. Better watch out for that. The legacy would be "won" once the family reached the Olympian generation. Pros: Has not started. Cons: Will likely take a bit more setup, but it would be lots of fun. Challenging, too. Option #4: Alphabetcy with Plant or Spice Names Meet Angelica and Allspice Spicer. These newlyweds plan on taking over Henford-on-Bagley. Pros: I love the idea of naming kids after plants. Angelica and Allspice are related to other sims in my game, too. Cons: For some reason, I'm not as excited about this idea. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Playing June Kay - update Oct. 10
I've played June Kay once before while doing the One World One Month One Year challenge and had a lot of fun with it, so I decided to play her again in a new save. I'm not sure if this will be a legacy, a LEPacy, or a Super Sim Challenge, or maybe all three, but I have a couple goals in mind. I'm starting out Legacy style on a 50x50 lot with $0. I'm playing completely Base Game right now. I want to complete as many skills, aspirations, and careers as I can until moving on to the next generation and adding a new pack. I'm using very minimal mods and a little bit of CC. Here she is with her makeover. Only base game plus her shirt which is CC. I'm playing with long lifespans. She started out on the 50x50 Oakenstead lot with $0. It's a nice lot to start on, with the Lilies, Snapdragons, and Strawberries. So she'll be trying to get some dragonfruits to make some money. The Whittaker Saga: 1940s: 1940s: V-E Day and Atom Bombs (updated 10/8)
I was vastly inspired when reading the decades challenge, and as a history teacher, I could not stop myself from giving it a try. Of course, true to my nature or refusing to do things by the book, the first thing I did was break the rules. How? By creating as my protagonist a single, working woman living on her own! Gasp! Why? Partly because a story popped into my head, but also, partly, to honor the many women who - by choice or necessity - actually worked, and worked hard for their living in the 1890s. We tend to forget them, but the working women were there - from the hard working farmers that we often downgrade by calling wives, as if they weren't an essential part of the economy of the farm, to the working class women working as domestic help or in the factories where they were only payed half of a man's wages. So with that, I introduce Abigail Spencer, a single, working, middle class woman in 1890s Willow Creek: As middle class there is only a few jobs available to Abigail, that of governess or that of teacher. Abigail is therefore a teacher, teaching at Willow Creek Elementary School. She lives right next door to the school, in a small shotgun house with a few chickens and a patch of land to help her make ends meet (teachers really were not payed a lot during this time either). Obviously, her biggest goal in life is to find a husband, get married and start a family so that she won't have to work. (In fact, a teacher, as well as many other working women, automatically lost their job if they got married during this time.) But to get married, she needs to find a husband. Meet Willow Creek's eligible bachelors: Matthew Godeau: Matthew is one of the richest men in Willow Creek. A bit too old to still be a bachelor he lives with his widowed mother in Ophelia house (yes, eventually this family changed their names and became the Goths. Ophelia house is named from Matthew's mother). Pro: Matthew is creative, just like Abigail, as well as a romantic and would be sure to bestow lots of attention on a wife. He lives in one of the biggest houses in town, and is a wealthy business man. Abigail would have a good life with him. Con: His mother. Ophelia is a woman set in her own ways and she is not about to let some silly girl interfere with how she runs her house! Ophelia is mean, materialistic and an overachiever. She is not likely to see some middle class teacher as good enough for her son. Add that she has raised her son to be not only creative and romantic, but also incredibly self absorbed and the household may prove hard to be comfortable with. Joseph Whittaker: Joseph is a novellist, living in the stately Whittaker house, which with time, will be turned into the well renowned Willow Creek Archive. He has no mother (a definite pro), but two very young children. A son and a daughter, from a previous marriage. Pro: Joseph is a bookworm, just like Abigail and is sure look favourably on her past as a teacher. They are also both family orientated which means they are a good match in personalities and would likely find a lot of common ground. The house is ripe with books, and Joseph's two motherless children desperately need a mother to tend to their needs. With two live in maids it's a comfortable life focused on the family and the books she so loves. Con: Joseph very much mourns his dead wife, and keeps her picture on the wall over the fireplace. Can he ever truly love again, or will Abigail forever live in the shadow of the woman he loved and lost? Loyd Brennan: Loyd is the owner of Brennan's Groceries and Dry Goods, the biggest (only) shop in town. He lives with his sister Mary and their dachshund above the store. Pro: Loyd is outgoing and friendly and easy to get along with. He's self assured, but unlike Matthew, not self absorbed. He works hard and provides a good home. As a working man he does not mind a working wife, so Abigail would do more than sit around being pretty. He loves dogs, and anyone who does cannot be bad - right? Con: Living in a store would mean working in the store. There is no way the wife of a store owner is not in that store working along side her husband. Without money for a maid, this involves not just working in the store but running the household as well. The apartment isn't really big enough for a large family and unless Mary gets married, it's bound to be crowded. Then there is the fact that she and Mary does not really get along well. Paul Heydale: Paul is a farmer, living with his entire family at Garden Essence, a farm with a cow, chickens and a whole lot of crops. They're a tight knit family who works hard for what they have. Pros: Paul, like Abigail is both creative and family orientated. He dreams of becoming a painter rather than a farmer. By marrying him, Abigail would be wrapped up in a large family who would be there for her, something she'd never had before. His family is also very friendly, and Abigail teachers his younger sister and has already met and chatted with his mother and father and really likes the entire family. Con: Marrying a farmer would be a step down the social ladder, and the life of a farmer is hard! Is Abigail cut out for working out from early morning to late evening without ever more than making ends meet? And the house is crowded as is, with Paul's parents and two younger siblings (so far). Where would more children live? Is Abigail prepared for the hard life that accompanies this choice? Now I wanted to make a poll, but apparently you cannot do this in this section of the forums. So I'll leave you with a question instead - who do you believe Abigail will most likely fall in love with and why? Matthew Joseph Loyd Paul Finally, here is my Willow Creek in 1890: *** An important note about the future postings in this story: After trying and fighting the forum to get the posts up and running as they are supposed to work, I have now decided that it's simply too much work. Instead, I have started a blog that (hopefully soon) will contain all of the chapters from here and the old forum. I am currently at 1891 and moving forwards quite rapidly. Here the posts of each chapter will be replaced by a link to the chapters in the blog as I move forwards, though I will leave any comments as they are. The massive perk with this is that I do not need to worry about editing in all images manually, and the loading time will decrease enormously without them. The process of reading is also easier at the blog - and while the blog itself is in the wrong order, I have set up a list of all chapters in chronological order for new readers as well as a search function if you are looking for a specific chapter. Another perk is that I have some new options, like character pages where you can get a summary of each of the main character in the story (warnings for spoilers) and a separate page about the challenge, how time moves. I hope I will be able include a link to the family tree as well. It will take some time to get everything set up, and I do appreciate input in the process. Sul Sul! In this post I'd like to introduce my Sims 4 families to you! First we have the Ridley family, which I started playing around May 2020. Second we have the Hampton family, who joined us in December 2020. On January 2021 I created the Ellison family and I played them until July 2021, but I brought them back on June 2024 to play a third Legacy challenge with them! Under here you can find a bit of information about my beloved families and their challenges. I will announce chapter updates in the replies, so I hope I can entertain y'all with that! Blog Home Page (for following purposes) About the Follow the Whim Legacy Family Tree The catch of this legacy is that the Watcher (=the player, in this case, me) can’t control the story. The heir tells their own story. You are only allowed to do the following things: • Follow the whims (=wants and fears) of the heir • Fill needs when needed • Follow aspiration goals • Complete work tasks or tasks on social events • Move the heir to another lot ONCE in their lifetime In this legacy, all offsprings, both adopted children or children from birth, from another species than human, all are eligible to become the next heir. Once all offsprings turned into teens, a poll will be opened, and everyone can vote for the next heir. The challenge is LONG (20 generations), but so worth it, because every generation gives you new experiences. You must complete all of the Generation Goals in order to continue to the next generation. These goals are found on my blog, in the sidebar of every chapter. In this legacy, only children of the opposite gender to the current heir are eligible to become the next heir. The oldest, by order of joining the family, eligible living child will automatically take over for the next generation. No heir poll for this story, sorry :). All other Sims that join the household must live on complete autonomy (except for free actions, explained in the rules onmy blog page). They can live (or fail) as they please. While you're trying to keep your family alive with only your heir in control, you have to keep a score. In this legacy, all offsprings, both adopted children or children from birth, from another species than human, all are eligible to become the next heir. A spinning wheel will determine how much pregnancies the Torch Holder (or their spouse) will have to go through, and when all kids are born, the spinning wheel once again decides who will become the next Torch Holder. I started the world legacy in 2019 because I had hard times to play legacy challenges without abandoning them after 3 or 4 generations. So I decided to bend the rules and mix them with rags to riches: What if each generation has to start over, from scratch in another world and use skills and systems implemented in the pack, in which the world comes from, to succeed in their lives? I'm now at my 12th Generation and it's still going. I have no real rules but I set goals for each generation so I could balance storyline and goal-oriented challenge. You stretch out on your couch after a long weekend in the North Pole. You have really enjoyed your time teaching the elves about different types of architectural designs, but it has been a bit exhausting as well. You just wrapped up the teaching part of the job, and you’re pleased with the progress the elves have made. You have given them their "exam" requirements to build either a dollhouse or action figure/super hero lair using the techniques you have taught them. Now you have a whole month to relax before you have to go back to help "judge" their projects and offer final suggestions to the elves. The Brief: -the budget is $250,000 (this includes the lot cost). -the doll house or lair must have an "open" side, just like a real toy. -keep in mind that a "child" must be able to reach in and play in every room or space you create. -it should be at least two stories high with a staircase or ladder as well as a bathroom. -it should have at least 6 different rooms/spaces to play in. -don't forget to landscape. The Sim Challenge: -create a family or group of superheroes/action figures with at least 4 sims. -you can pick all traits, likes, dislikes, and other details. -show them enjoying the house or lair.
