Faith & Belief Systems Expansion Pack for The Sims 4
Before you read my idea, I apologize in advance if I upset or offended anyone with this. I would love to see a future expansion pack for The Sims 4 focused on faith and belief systems as an optional gameplay feature. Many players enjoy deep storytelling, legacy families, and generational gameplay. Introducing belief systems could add a meaningful layer of identity, traditions, and values that influence Sims’ lives over time — without forcing any specific worldview on players. This expansion could include multiple belief systems, presented in a generalized or fictional way, similar to how lifestyles, sentiments, or values currently work in the game. Sims could choose a belief system, inherit it from their family, or change it throughout their life. Possible gameplay features could include: 1. Places of worship (church-like buildings, temples, mosque-inspired architecture, etc.) 2. Activities such as praying, meditating, attending services, or quiet reflection 3. Faith-based ceremonies, including weddings and funerals 4. Traditions and holidays connected to belief systems 5. Moodlets related to devotion, doubt, spiritual fulfillment, or inner conflict Belief systems could influence: 1. Family dynamics and legacy storytelling 2. Traits, aspirations, and values passed down to children 3. Sims’ reactions to major life events such as marriage, loss, success, or crisis The pack could also introduce faith-based education and careers. For example, Sims could attend belief-oriented schools or private institutions focused on values, discipline, and traditions, shaping their personality and future paths. Additionally, a new spiritual leadership career could allow Sims to guide communities, host ceremonies, offer counseling, and organize faith-related events. Career progression could focus on reputation, community impact, and personal devotion rather than wealth. Importantly, this system should be fully optional and customizable, so players who prefer not to engage with faith-related gameplay can simply ignore it, while storytellers and legacy players gain powerful new tools for emotional and narrative depth. I believe an expansion like this could bring more realism, diversity, and long-term gameplay depth to The Sims 4, especially for players who enjoy building complex family histories and meaningful character arcs. I would be very, very thankful if i would get a setting-option, so my sims stops shaving the body- and the facial-hair. Player Bio Household / Lot / Room descriptions Comments on shares Add a "Recommended" filter or new tab which includes shares that are similar to creations we have favorited, saved and/or placed in the game (Would it also be possible to recommend creators who have similar styles to those we've followed?) Distinguish between lots with different orientations, ex. 30x20 (front has 30 tiles) and 20x30 (front has 20 tiles) Add Color filters for shares that primarily use specific colors for décor, trim, furniture, clothing, etc. Allow Households to be placed from the Gallery without clothing and accessories, similar to placing lots unfurnished Add confirmation notice popup when uploading duplicate shares, i.e. "This lot / household has been uploaded already. Are you sure you want to continue?" Allow option to filter the Randomize from Gallery button in CAS to "Exclude Maxis Creations" Add a prompt or simply highlight disallowed words when uploading to the Gallery. I’m not sure if this is a bug or intentional, so I’m posting here. Children needs more formal clothing bottoms. There are four (4) clothing items available under the "masculine" tag that also have a "formal" tag. There are two long skirts and one knee-length skirt, all from Island Living, and one pair of pants from BG. When removing the "masculine" tag, I’m up to nine (9) clothing items. The four I already mentioned, plus a knee-length skirt from Horse Ranch, a short skirt from Dine Out, and two short skirts from BG. There are several tops available, from different packs. Though, in my opinion, it should be more with all the packs that have been released. Maybe the clothes we already have are just missing tags, because I don’t remember it always being this few options. It’s been like this at least a few months. I bought AA basically only because of the getaway feature and the custom lots, as it's the closest thing to hotels we'll get and at least in theory give us as players freedom to do what we want in a lot. Only it doesn't work like that. When scheduling a getaway I was pleased to discover I could choose sims to fill a certain role. But then I realised I could almost entirely choose sims my sim already knew. Which is kind of useless if you want your sim to go experience new things on a honeymoon with his new wife. So I left all roles blank, thinking it would then pick random sims, preferably local to the custom venue. But of course it doesn't! That would expose my sim to new sims!!! Dangerous! So when my sim arrives, his dad (who is a doctor) is the chef, his aunt is the host, his cousin is the entertainer and not a single sim in this getaway is a sim he has not already me! It's so stupid and so obviously by design that I can't help but to wonder why the developers think I only want to meet the same sims again and again. I want to be able to make sure it's local sims that are at the getaway, but I cannot choose the locals, even if they have the correct skillset and meet all the requirements, because my sim doesn't know them. For me this renders getaways unplayable unless I can find mods to change this. It's an excellent example of the developers beliefs that my sim only want to meet people they already know, in any world, at all times, thereby filling venues of all types with relatives and friends instead of strangers, be it bars, nightclubs, university commons, even at high school I've seen my sims' relatives suddenly being the head master, the teacher or the canteen staff. Even when they have other jobs! (While on the flip side I cannot for the life of me pick relatives as employees when creating a restaurant or shop. Why?) What new ideas or improvements would you suggest? When picking roles for a getaway, let me choose among all sims in game that meet the requirements. I know it's probably way too late to even suggest things since supposedly the Sims 4 is coming to an end, but this has been a huge thing I've been thinking about for ages.. We have so many "Worlds" in the Sims 4, but one of the only ones I can remember actually having a fleshed out storyline was Strangerville, it had its own actual boss battle and everything which was kind of crazy I've been kind of wishing for more of that honestly, especially for occult packs, imagining a pack like realm of magic having a storyline about doing something like bringing the magic realm fully back into balance, and actually /using your spells to accomplish something/ Having a storyline for Vampires, Werewolves, Faeries, with actual Rpg-game-like elements, things to do that make use of your abilities as those occults... that sort of thing Imagining the Star Wars pack if at the end we got to have a faction boss battle where we teamed up with the faction leaders against their opposite to solidify taking over Batuu (joining Kylo to take on Rey or vice versa? And unlocking force abilities upon completion of the Order vs Hope aspirations?That would have been cool. If the next expansion pack is actually any kind of medieval thene I'm genuinely hoping that it has a storyline, when I heard about Adventure Awaits I was.. confused.. it's an adventure pack from the title but was basically just.. summer camp, when I think of "adventure" I think of the hobbit, or lord of the rings, or the neverending story, or final fantasy, or the legend of zelda, the list goes on, a quest, an adventure, that was way more what I'd expect from a pack like that.. in the end I really just got it for archery which.. is a level 5 capped skill.. so not much to do there If they were to ever do more "pack refreshes" it would be nice to have these sorts of things added in, the Sims 4 pretty much charges you for a full on game with expansion packs, and even the regular packs cost enough to be considered expensive, having more meaningful gameplay and things to do would be nice. I've been playing the Sims 4 for ages, bur honestly something that I notice about myself that kind of makes me question why is.. I've bought most every DLC except for the kits, but then all I do is mess around in character creation or build a house, then I just go play something else because I find the actual gameplay outside of those things.. kind of just boring.. The most fun I've had has been having my spellcaster set a burglar on fire when they tried to rob my house.. XD little things like that are actually fun.. because it actually felt like my sim accomplished something with a skill she developed and the burglar running away after being set on fire was probably funnier to me than is normal.. Bedroom and clutter kit, living room and clutter kit, study/office clutter room kit, Fine Dining kit, Attic clutter kit, walk in closet clutter kit. I do enjoy the sims, but when I have a sim in the family start preparing a group meal, other sims who are also hungry will get leftovers from the fridge which is really annoying because the original sim was making food for everyone! 😣 IMO, I think it would really help if a sim is cooking a group meal (not just a single serving) other Sims autonomously grabbing leftovers is turned off unless the player instructs them to grab food from the fridge regardless if another sim is cooking for all in that household. A full expansion pack, on a fully functional starship (either a Federation, Romulan, Klingon, etc., Player's choice). We'll also be able to build our own, like a massive house, on a 800x800 lot, since it would be for a crew of a 100 sims. OR maybe just the Player's quarters and key rooms that the Player works in. We can live on the ship as a crew member. New career; with 3 branches: Command Division (Gold/Yellow outfits): Captain, officer, pilots, diplomacy, ship operations. Operations Division (Red/Gold): engineers, security, transporter and communications technicians. Science Division (Blue): Alien plant botanists (should be able to tie into Strangerville), science officers, medical officers, historians (learning about the history of the alien cultures). All of the alien species; Vulcans, Klingons, Romulans, Borg, etc (probably just cosmetic CAS objects as extra category features, so that we can have hats and sunglasses on Klingons. Possibly adding a subcategory for the Alien occult for the Star Trek species, so Klingons and the others that have special facial differences can have their own skin enhancements OR have the skin enhancements be their own category, like tattoos. New objects; phasers that only work on stun, teleportation, holodeck, replicator, sonic showers, VISOR, tricorder, new research (ties into University, maybe High School too?), and experimental technology. Along with a separately purchased game pack that allows us to travel to a new planet (similar to the Star Wars game pack)... perhaps to save Vulcan? All of it would intertwine with the base game, so we can take phasers and teleporters back home! All so that our lovable Sims can boldly go where no Sim has gone before... (I'm hoping if there's enough interest, EA will go for it).35Views0likes2Comments
