Just When You Thought You Had it All Sorted Out . . .
Oi! Took me a couple of days to wrap my head around a plot point conundrum. Did a little research and this morning I find myself realizing the problem that just arose. Seems even with permission from the Head of the dynasty, a son can't just marry whom he wishes. She must be part of a dynasty, which means a fraudulent link, or a scandal if they wed without the link. And we all thought Cinderella had problems. Oi! I am completely beside myself, steaming right along with this new EP, my characters making interesting choices along the way just for me to fly smack dab into a brick wall. (Hey, I have enough of those in my RL family tree!) Whack, that hurts. There may be a slight pause in my updates, as a result. So much for the push to attend university. That was trouble enough. With this particular save I am resisting the urge to allow for a greater than eight on the lot cheat, realizing that may have been the root cause of the corruption that ultimately erupted in my last save. See? She can be taught. In the meantime, I can only monitor the students from the main lot. Going back and forth will ultimately make me dizzy. I contemplated moving the other student in, but I either give up the baby or the horse. It's those darn horses that trip me up each and every time. We can't control them, so why do they take up a valuable lot slot? Yes, EA I'm complaining! I do suppose I could just send them all to live at the university and then allow them all to move back in with their respective parents. Or what? Have any of you run into the 'you can marry her, but there are certain stipulations, first' bit? Is there a walk-around and just how disrupted can such a scandal be? Is it worth giving it a try? Adding friezes - a nightmare?
Is it only me that never became a good friend of friezes in this game? Whenever I use them, you know those friezes to be added top of outdoor wall, they will also end up on some inner walls where I don't want them to be. If I use sledge hammer tool to remove those indoors, also the outdoors friezes will be deleted for that section of the house. I realize that it might be safer to add them when the whle house is just one big scale and no inner rooms are created, but when building a staircase room they might appear anyway. With friezes indoors I can't add doors... Is there a smart trick to contrle them? Can I delete or add them just one tile at the time, like we can with fences and walls) or is the only way to just trying to ignore that they appear inside the huse where you don't want them to be? Science Child and the Super Parent aspiration
Is there someone out there that's recently had a science child (Baby via science with only themselves as the sole parent/genetic donor) that has had that satisfy the "Have a child" part of the Super Parent aspiration? The one time I tried to do it, having the science child did NOT satisfy that part of the aspiration and I couldn't figure out how/why? But we've had some game updates since then. Sul sul Fellow Simmers! While I'm interested in the other features of this pack somewhat, what I'd really like to know more about it is "Formative Moments" for kids? I wanted to know more about the Imaginary Friends too, but someone (I'm so sorry, I can't remember your handle now!?!) already showed me a post that had information all about them. Thank you again for that! But yeah, Formative Moments? What kinds are there? When do they happen/what do you have to do to have a sim child get them? What do they do as an effect from a successful one? What about the unsuccessful ones? Basically everything about them!?! And I think it was rosemow (Sp?) that showed me the other post about Imaginary Friends. If the information about Formative Moments that I'm asking about now is also on there, then I'm so sorry for forgetting! Thoughts on For Rent and Business & Hobbies and their Issues
So I never bought For Rent because I was warned about the myriad of issues, and I was on a break from the game when Business & Hobbies came out, and though it interested me—I heard it too had some issues too, and thought I just wait for a decent discount. But I was reading there is a bit of focus on save corruption with specific mentions of FR: We’re also tracking any potential links to specific expansion packs or objects, though corruption reports predate packs like The Sims 4 For Rent. Instances of corruption existed before the release of For Rent, and our investigations into individual packs remain a top priority. So if this gets resolved within this time they claim to be catching up on issues during this "break", is that the biggest issue with this pack, or is it still not safe to buy? And with B&H I was thinking of waiting till 50% off, which may or may not be around Black Friday/Cyber Monday or even end of the year sale, are the issues of that alright enough to deal with at discount, or should I wait longer and/or for specific fixes?Solved445Views3likes12CommentsAdventure Awaits CAS And Build/Buy?
Hello! I'm sure there's a really easy answer or post or what have you about this that I've just not seen yet. That's often the case of this sort of thing! *LOL* But could someone please direct me to where I can find a list (With pictures please!) of the CAS and Build/Buy stuff that comes unique to Adventure Awaits? I'm really on the fence about whether to get this EP or not. I honestly don't see myself doing much with the "adventures" part of it as far as making and/or sending sims to the different locations you can have them do and experience stuff at. Though who knows, maybe I'd change my mind? However, I'm VERY interested in the new pool stuff! Don't like that it's behind a pay-wall though. I mean they gave us pools for free in an update when they came out. Why not give us at least ONE free diving board and slide as well? Geez... ANYWAYS, I AM also VERY interested in the Imaginary Friend dolls! I saw a post where someone had shared what they all look like after they're made into real sims. Love it! And their outfits too! Soooo, I'm hoping if I'm able to see what the CAS and the Build/Buy stuff in this EP are all like, that will help me decide whether I really NEED this pack? Or not? I have some other EP's that I no longer have installed on my computer, because quite frankly I can no longer RUN said computer, with all the EPs, GPs, Stuff Packs and Kits that I have already! Why do we have positive - negative threads?
I've been curious for a while how the idea of the "positive" and "negative" threads for various packs started and why we feel the need to separate the two rather than having one "discuss the pack"- thread instead. My observations of the various threads are that the positive thread generally holds much more information about the pack in the opening post and is updated with new information, while the negative thread usually start with a very short post that stays the same. I've also noticed people stopping themselves in discussions of the pack going "I also have something... to say but I'll put that in the other thread". Is it that we're so used to filter bubbles that we have a hard time dealing with a thread that contains both bad and good? Or that we just want to be able to whine/gush over a pack in peace without someone trying to "convert" us? Or are we worried of offending those of another opinion than our own? When is the next Sims 4 sale?

Three sales from June till September, first did have up to 60% (and I spent quite a bit) but not the 2nd and 3rd (current), and of course I am waiting for 60%. That I know of sales really haven't been this frequent, so I assume it is due to the times, but I am really disappointed two sales in a row haven't been up to 60% and I don't want to buy at 50% when I know they can be 60%. Is this an insult or that EA is hurting that bad they cannot afford 60% off anymore? What does this mean no more 60% sales? Only really old packs were up to 60% anyways, but I was slowly buying up the ultra old packs while buying some new packs, as I am barely playing Sims 4 for the past year (since L&D). edit: note I have a decent size wishlist waiting to buy packs but waiting at 60%, so on hold till then. A few of us were rather upset last sale as it was advertised up to 60% but instead of honoring amended the adverts to 50%. With regards to this patch: https://www.ea.com/games/the-sims/the-sims-4/news/ailments-dev-diary I didn't see a timeline for the patch, but it seems my game isn't updated yet with this feature, should I be concerned, or was this just a news post announcing the forthcoming patch? Enchanted By Nature NPC Cheats
Anyone know where I can get a list of the hidden NPC traits for this pack? I went into all the households to give some small businesses and it messed up my vendors. Todd doesn't show up as the apothecary vendor and I haven't checked in Noahm (?), the gnome vendor, if he got messed up as well. I know it will do that if you make them an active household. I switched them off of active households but it hasn't put him back as vendor. It's just some random chick. Thanks! Magical Gnomes
Hi all, I have not had much time to go into each thread and see if our little gnomes are playing a big roll in the new pack. I truly miss my little drunken helpers from sims 1 and hope that our gnomes can help out in the future. What exactly happens to our gnomes in the new pack, does anyone know. Enchanted by Nature - unsure of release date
