Title Bar in Fullscreen, Double Title Bar in Windowed
Since the latest sims 4 update, when playing on my Macbook running Tahoe 26.3, there is a white title bar at the top of all screens. The title bar makes it so that when i am trying to click on something in game, I have to actually click slightly further down on the screen in order to click what I want to, making it quite hard to play. I have played around with the resolution and other settings.
Newly purchased expansions and kits not loading in sims4
I have been having constant issues with my sims 4 not launching the new expansions and kits I have purchased threw ea pc. No one from customer service threw ea chat have been able to help me. I've cleared cache repaired game repaired ea and still not able to play new purchases. Example the legacy expansion shows installed on ea but not generating in sims 4 I need somebody to HELP ME since I'm not able to get refund for purchases.
Says that the game is running but it isn't
I haven’t been able to play for months because whenever I try to open the game, I get the error shown in the screenshot, even though it’s not true that the game is running. In fact, when I press OK everything closes and it sends me back to the EA menu. I thought the problem might have been because my game was installed on an external hard drive, so I tried uninstalling and reinstalling both on my desktop and on the external drive (and I followed the correct procedure). Nothing worked. I also tried both without and with mods (only custom content, no gameplay mods), but that didn’t make any difference either. A while back I managed to open the game for the first time, but it wouldn’t let me enter a lot and only took me to CAS, and then it started showing issues, like the screen not fitting my computer display. The game then crashed. What can I do?Says that game is running but it isn't

can't open sims 4 due to error
I updated my game earlier on, when I tried to open it, it came up with an error to check my mods or repair the game. I tried to delete the mods (all hair and clothing) and my Mac came up with an error that said "The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “Twistedcat_Stella_Hair.package” can’t be read or written. (Error code -36)". I then repaired the game to see if that would make any difference but still coming up with the same error. I've tried to delete the mods folder and the localthumbcache as I've seen posted on here but both times came up with the same message as above. any tips would be appreciatedgame not functioning after macOS update
hi I updated my mack a while back and synced my iCloud to my current MacBook. I tried playing my game after but it kept opening an older version from a couple years ago, I thought I fixed it but moving some folders around but I just tried playing again and got the old version. when I moved the folder to trash and got my current game I suddenly couldn't save my game. I've tried changing the path, disconnecting iCloud from my desktop and documents, and repairing in the ea app but nothing's working. please help!loading screen stuck
helppp i just downloaded sims 4 for the first time on mac, m4 chip. and ive js created a character and tried making a game, ive been stuck on this loading screen for 3 hours, i cant even turn off my macbook or restart it because it wont allow me due to sims being open. i have no mods or anything btw this is my first time playing.
My 'The Sims 4 Packs' Folder Is Missing
Hello! So, I was playing the sims as normal but I can't find my packs folder. I've looked everywhere and tried anything. I am also on a different device (I usually use a MacBook, now I'm on an iMac.) then what I usually play on. I have tried everything but I still cannot find it. Please help!Sims 4 Crashing on my Mac
I can load into the game fine, but after about five minutes of gameplay, it freezes, crashes, then force restarts my mac. I have tried removing all mods, starting a completely fresh game by renaming the old game file, and repairing through the EA app. This last attempt to fix was temporarily successful for about 24 hours but now the issue has returned, I have tried repairing again but with no luck, is anyone else having this issue or know how to solve it?Loading Screen Hanging
I have just installed Sims 4. I haven't gotten to the point of playing the game because the loading screen keeps getting stuck. This can happen after I exit CAS or Building Mode or anywhere where I am switching modes/screens. The game doesn't not respond, it just hangs. To get out of it, I have to force quit the game via the 'Apple > Force Quit' menu. Here are my specs: Operating System: Sequoia 15.6 Mac Model: MacBook Pro 14-Inch, Nov 2024 Processor/Chip: Apple M4 Max Memory: 36GB Storage Space: 420.9 GB available of 994.66 GB No antivirus or cleaning apps Thus far I have: 1. Repaired the game. 2. Renamed the game in 'Documents > Electronic Arts' to 'The Sims 4 Old' and restarted the game. 3. Uninstalled the game and the EA app and reinstalled. 4. Set the graphics quality for 'Sims', 'Objects', and 'Lighting' to 'Low' and set 'Edge Smoothing' to 'Off' in 'Game Options > Graphics' 5. Set the 'Display Type' in 'Game Options > Graphics' to 'Windowed'. 6. Set to 'Go Offline' in the EA app under 'Account > Go Offline'. 7. Checked the 'Vertical Sync' in 'Game Options > Graphics'. 8. Checked that my iCloud is not syncing with my 'Documents' folder. 9. Closed every app other than the game. 10. Granted permissions under 'System Settings > Privacy and Security' for 'Sims 4' and 'EA App'. I edited the text file in EA Games > The Sims 4 > Contents > res > Camera.ini to set the value for ClickDragEnabled to true under '[advanced]'. However, I can't see how this would create the issues I'm experiencing. The repair function sets the file back to the original and the problem occurs whether the edited file is running or not. Other than that I have no mods, official game extensions/packs, or cc installed. This is a strictly vanilla brand new and never played install. When I first start a new save, I get the 'Unrecognized Video Card' error (see attached screenshot). After seeing the message, I exit and then restart. From research, though, I understand this shouldn't be causing the error. If anyone has any suggestions on what else I could try, I would be grateful to hear it. According to the requirements for the game, my machine is well within them, but maybe it is just unplayable on my machine/setup.
Game Randomly Shuts Down
When I am playing The Sims 4, my game randomly just shiuts down with no warning. This happens 2 or 3 times a day. I do not have any mods or custom content installed. And if I have not saved in a few minutes, I lose everything I was working on. For the many hundreds upon hundreds of dollars that I have spent on this game, I would think that I would be able to play feeely, without having to remember to save ever 60 seconds or risk losing my work.
Can't Full Screen Without Having Cursor Calibration Issues
Hello, yesterday I mirrored my MAC screen to another laptop (my own), since then my sims 4 has been having mouse calibration issues on top of other things. When I go into full screen, the sims 4 title on the top of the window will not go away. This in turn has made it so that my cursor to click onto anything has to be below the object I want to click on, instead of the usual click onto the object to select. I've tried resetting my computer, restoring the game, opening and closing the app/game. Nothing seems to be working. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this issue? I attached an image below to give an example of what my screen looks like.Lost All Saves / Video Card Issue
First issue that happened was after going into EA like normal to open sims 4 I got the message that the game was already running (which it did not seem like it was) and then got a pop up with something like “do you want sims 4 to access a folder on this computer” (I can’t remember the exact wording) and I accidentally clicked no. After that, when opening sims I get the message “UNRECOGNIZED VIDEO CARD Your video card is not recognized in our database. We have optimized your graphics settings for improved performance.” Along with this message none of my saved games show up and the main home screen opens prompting me to create a household as if I've never played before. After searching around online I tried what I thought was a simple fix to rename the sims folder “sims_old” and reopen the game and then copy the saves folder from “old” over to the new sims folder that is created. When I did this weirdly the only game that loaded was one from 2018. I have no mods installed and I checked my I cloud storage to set it to not save my game to the cloud. Compared to any actual gamer I am not great with computers and this is really the only game I play so I wanted to get advice before I mess things up any further. I’m so mad at myself because I’ve spent over a year on the current house / family I have and don’t want to lose everything. Let me know if there is any additional information that I can provide to try and fix this, any help is very appreciated! I just downloaded Sims4 for the first time and wanted to also download some mods. I came to realize that the game wont load if I have a .package file in my mods. I have tried opening Sims with one .package mod at a time and still would not work. It keep popping off as a corrupted file. I already tried repairing the game, un syncing from my icloud, and putting the file not too deep only in the mods file. I am not sure what to do because the game only runs if there is no mods or if the mods are "zipped." I tried it with many different kind of mod and it continue to not work therefore I don't think it's the mod itself have a problem. Overall, I am very confuse and want to use mods so please somebody help me I have a MacBook Air 2018!!!
