Hardcore mode for veterans and those who prefer simulation
Hi DICE / EA team, I’ve been a Battlefield player since Bad Company 2 and I deeply value the tactical, immersive experience the franchise has always offered. Hardcore mode—with reduced HUD, one-shot kills, friendly fire, no minimap—was an iconic part of Battlefield’s identity. It’s disappointing that in Battlefield 6 Hardcore is only available through Portal, requiring custom servers and manual setup. Many long-time fans (including myself) just want to queue into a standard Hardcore playlist via matchmaking, like in BF3 and BF4. A simple option at the start of matchmaking—"Standard" vs "Hardcore"—would let new players join the normal mode, while veterans could select what they know and love. This choice doesn’t harm anyone and addresses both audiences fairly. Portal cannot replace matchmaking: lack XP progression, and aren’t easily discoverable. Access to Hardcore via matchmaking would revitalize competitive play and honor Battlefield’s legacy. Please consider adding an official Hardcore playlist to standard matchmaking. Many fans have voiced similar concerns and would greatly appreciate such a feature. Thank you for listening.spectro9753 months agoSeasoned Rookie4.3KViews130likes66CommentsControversial Topic, but... Female Soldiers.
I'd like to start by saying I hope we can all be adults here while going through this topic. Two ideas can exist simultaneously, and those for me are that I have respect for women who serve or want to serve in frontline combat roles while at the same time I don't think they should. I believe that the capacity for violence and the burden put on those who commit it should be relegated to men. The ability to make war is a terrible yet necessary thing and when it comes down to it, men are simply more naturally inclined to be better at it and have a greater desire to do it. The entire basis of human nature is structured on men doing whatever is necessary to protect women and children. I obviously know that there are some who disagree with me here, but I also know that there are many who agree. There is also absolutely nothing misogynistic or sexist about these views, and it's okay to say that. People who hold this opinion don't believe any silly nonsense like "women are inferior" or anything like that, we simply believe that men and women are different and that's okay. So, why do I say all of this and why am I bringing up a topic that I know is going to be so controversial? I do it because I would like to ask Dice and EA to give us the ability to toggle female soldiers. I'm sorry if this offends some, but I'm sure some agree with me; I just don't want to play a war game with women in it. I don't want to hear women shouting as they're dying, I don't want to be firing at women, I just don't like it. I know there are women in combat roles in the modern age (though they are very few and far between), but it also still breaks the immersive experience to me. The most obviously egregious example of this was Battlefield V, and we all know how that controversy went. I hope that the world is in a more mature place to discuss something like this now and I feel like a toggle that gives everybody the option to play how they want isn't asking for too much. I'd also like to make it clear that I don't feel the same way about women in the military in general. I believe they definitely can excel in plenty of other roles such as in aviation, communication, command; it's just the frontline combat roles, which is what Battlefield is all about. And for my female gamers out there who enjoy these games, I think that's great and I want you to feel like you belong. These opinions have no relation to the idea of female gamers. Battlefield is a communal experience but at the same time is an individual experience for each of us who play. I know that after the madness of the last decade or so it's difficult to speak up on topics like this but I hope those who feel the same way aren't afraid to anymore. I know some would be offended and that we would get all of the articles from the "big" gaming outlets that no one cares about anymore but I hold out hope that with Dice and EA doing so much right on this game that maybe they'll have the guts to ignore the loud minority on something like this. I have full confidence that in the moment we're in a decision like this would not impact sales of a game that is shaping up to be so good. Even implementation after launch would be great. I hope that this is allowed to be posted here and that EA doesn't flag it as inappropriate or anything like that. For anyone who reads or engages with it, I appreciate your time.DomiPastrami2 months agoSeasoned Rookie3.7KViews78likes318CommentsDisappointed by Battlefield 6’s Lack of Linux Support
To whom it may concern, I was genuinely excited about Battlefield 6. The trailers, the gameplay previews—all of it looked amazing. But that excitement was instantly deflated when I realized there’s no support for Linux at all! I’m running Ubuntu LTS and have absolutely no interest in switching back to Windows just to play EA games. It’s frustrating, to say the least, that in 2025 we’re still dealing with such narrow platform support. Linux users are no longer a fringe group—we’re passionate, loyal, and growing. Ignoring us feels like a slap in the face. I won’t be buying Battlefield 6 unless Linux support is taken seriously. Simple as that. Please rethink this decision—not just for me, but for the entire Linux community. Hey folks, AC from the SPEAR Anti-Cheat Team here, hope everyone's having fun in the Battlefield 6 Open Beta! I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge some of the feedback around cheating in the game, especially around Secure Boot. On Secure Boot, I want to be clear that Secure Boot is not, and was not intended to be a silver bullet. Secure Boot is how you're helping us build up our arsenal. It’s another barrier that helps us make it harder for cheat developers to create cheat programs, and makes it easier for us to detect it when they do. There are certain signals that we can only trust when Secure Boot is enabled, which we spoke of before in our previous posts, like here https://steamcommunity.com/app/2807960/discussions/0/600785827026563959/. One example, Secure Boot prevents your machine from running with vulnerable drivers enabled. So if Secure Boot is running and we see those drivers loaded, we know something's a bit off. I also wanted to thank you all for taking the time to report cheaters, cheat programs and specific clips to us. Your reports help us zero in and lead us to finding up and coming cheat communities, reporting one actual cheater often can lead to new detection techniques and help us keep them from impacting your experience. Since Open Beta Early Access’s launch: Javelin has prevented 330,000 attempts to cheat or tamper with anti-cheat controls. You’ve reported 44,000 instances of potential cheaters during day one and another 60,000 so far today. We are already using these with our own Gameplay Integrity team to add and improve our detections for Battlefield 6. They are also working with the Battlefield Positive Play team, to actively remove those reported we confirm to be cheaters. Anti-Cheat isn't one and done, it's an ever evolving battlefield, and what has worked for us previously or in different games doesn't always work in all of them. I hope this helps, and please keep the reports coming in - we'll continue cleaning up the cheaters so you can have a fair game. We’re looking forward to the Open Beta tomorrow, and if you need to, the best way to help combat cheaters in Battlefield 6 is by reporting them via their profiles on the score screen. See you on the Battlefield! - ACAntiCheatWard2 months agoEA Anticheat Team32KViews63likes234CommentsChange Minimap to top Left

Nerf — The Jump slide, the slide is too far. Nerf — The overall of the slide needs a very tiny touch, but not like Battlefield v. Nerf — The drop shot, make the prone more animated and not fast like cod. Nerf — The accuracy of the gun when sliding>ads so it won't be accurate just like in CoD. Nerf — The accuracy of the gun when jumping>ads so it won't be accurate just like in CoD. Nerf — The overall of the movment speed with the smg's/pistols when ads is a little bit fast. Nerf — The Auto spoting detect enemies from far away, and it need to set to close/medium range like in bf4. I have been a Battlefield fan since Battlefield 3, Putting hundreds upon hundreds of hours into each game since. All have worked perfectly fine with no issues at all with accessibility software. The new anticheat update has completely stopped my, and some disabled people's ability from using their accessibility software, and from playing every game from Battlefield 1 on. Meaning, this change doesn't mean that just BF6 is using this new update that stops accessibility software, but rather, now every previous Battlefield since Battlefield 1, that worked perfectly over the past years, are now unplayable. I am a quadriplegic and have no finger movement at all. So I use a couple different pieces of adaptive software to bind a flightstick's(Logitech Extreme 3D Pro) analog joystick to the binary WASD keys for movement(JoyToKey), as well as software to allow me to use voice commands to hit the other keyboard keys I otherwise cannot reach(Voice Attack). From my testing I found that JoyToKey Is the culprit here. It causes the "VirtualController" issue. Voice Attack remains functional. Please Battlefield, Don't stop myself as well as other disabled players from using software that enables us to be able to play a game we otherwise wouldn't be able to play. And in addition, doing that to the previous 3 games as well. Especially with a software like JoyToKey. Where anyone that has attempted to bind analog inputs to binary outputs knows, It provides no competitive edge, just accessibility for those with limited movement. I've provided some screenshots of the accessibility devices that I use, as well as the screens I get from each battlefield showing that "VirtualController" is not allowed to be running at the same time as the game. Thank you for Sending your time to read this.CrippledKenny2 months agoSeasoned Newcomer632Views43likes16CommentsMeet the Community Managers of the EA Forums
Hello everyone, with the release of the reveal trailer for Battlefield 6 and now that we’ve all had some time to settle in to the EA Forums I thought now would be a good time to set up a thread where you can meet the EA Forums Community team and hear a little bit about our own Battlefield experience! I’m Rtas, or EA_Rtas to be more precise, if you’ve been around since the old Battlefield forums you might recognize me as one of the old EA moderators during the Battlefield V era. I know I recognize some usernames when I read through the forums and it’s always good to see the old guard still around. I first got into Battlefield with Battlefield 1943 back on the Xbox 360 and was immediately hooked. Took me some time to get good and learn to PTFO but I really came into my own with Battlefield 3 as a medic. Long hours of Operation Metro (If you were ever on the receiving end of my constant revives while under enemy fire then you have my sincere apologies) and Damavand Peak were absolutely formative for me throughout my time with Battlefield 3 and cemented it as probably my favourite in the series. Though I think that was also influenced by a certain show on Youtube I think we're all familiar with here, Battlefield Friends which I would watch every time a new video would release. What is my role here? You’ll see me around the forums not only here in the Battlefield section but also on the Star Wars boards. I read as much of your feedback as I am able and pass it on to the right people as well as helping out wherever and whenever I can with troubleshooting and while I can't be everywhere all the time, that is where my excellent teammates come in. Ideally we try to make sure this is a friendly place for everyone to talk about Battlefield. What makes a great community is everyone working together as a team, you'll see that from the other community managers that will also post in this thread. We work together to make sure that nothing is missed on these forums, even if you don't get an immediate response we read everything. But thats enough from me, for now I’ll pass it on to the rest of the folks on our team so you can get to know the folks helping you here on the EA Forums. Dear Dev team, I’m a PlayStation player and a big fan of first-person shooters. I truly appreciate developers who implement gyroscope aiming — it’s a modern, precise, and comfortable mechanic that significantly enhances controller gameplay, especially for players who are physically disabled. I’d like to share a suggestion regarding future gyroscope support in your game. In Battlefield, for example, gyroscope aiming is technically present in the latest alpha versions (such as BF6), but it’s currently non-functional. I’d love to see a fully developed and customizable implementation of gyroscope aiming — similar to how it works in Fortnite, THE FINALS, or Call of Duty. Most importantly, I’d love to see: An option to disable gyroscope auto-calibration. This system is built into PlayStation controllers and often interferes with small, precise movements — such as when using sniper rifles or trying to control recoil. While it can’t be disabled at the system level, some games successfully disable it within their own engine (e.g., Fortnite). Comprehensive customization options — sensitivity, acceleration, input threshold, inversion, and more — just like in the titles mentioned above. Features like these show care for detail and greatly improve the controller experience for many players. Thank you for your work — I hope this feedback is useful! Sincerely, Artem Rolar Horun P.S. I often see requests for a server browser on social media. I agree that a server browser is necessary, but when hosting a community event, all you need to do is search in the server browser, making it easy to jump to the same server. With the current system, you can't jump to the same server unless you jump from your friends list. CM title edit872Views30likes52CommentsStill a three friend party limit for BF6?
Reading BF2042 forums and the like it looks like the limitation of three friends (a four person party) is still there years later, even though they said it was a limitation they'd look into overcoming and something that was expressed as a desire recently when the community was asked about what they wanted from a server browser... To be specific, since EA Connect party limit is 4 players and the 'server browser' is only for Portal, you cannot play on the main Battlefield servers with the wider Battlefield community with more than three friends. Any more than three and they cannot join your party, so they will no doubt be sent to a different server. The only way to all get on the same one would be using a server browser, but since EA are saying they think Portal 'solves' this, you can only play on community created servers. So... Portal does not address this at all. I can only imagine they want their match-making systems to not have to cope multiple squads existing on the same servers? It can't be a technical limitation that they haven't been able to address since the release of BF2042, so what is it?disposalist2 months agoNew Hotshot11KViews27likes12CommentsOverall Game Pacing of BF6 is Too Fast, 3 Easy Fixes
DISCLOSURE: This is largely a copy paste from a reddit post I made on r/Battlefield that garnered over 2M views, 10k likes (95% upvote ratio), and had 1000+ comments in agreement. The original post can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Battlefield/comments/1mlf1n8/i_got_to_max_level_and_completed_all_challenges/ This was also the most liked post on EA's official BF6 Beta Feedback forums, but that section of the forums has since been removed. I am reposting here because of that. 15 year fan of the franchise here, I've been playing the BF games since BC2. After spending considerable time on the closed beta and mostly enjoying it, I want to say I am impressed with the current state of the game. It feels like a huge improvement over BF2042 and reminiscent of BF3/BF4 era. I'm hopeful that battlefield is back. That being said, it still doesn't feel like a true return to form, and this is largely due to the game's pacing. BF6 is too fast paced to be considered on the same level as the games during the golden era of battlefield. When I say fast paced, I do not mean movement. The player movement actually feels really true to BF3/BF4 movement; it feels grounded and realistic, and deservingly punishes those who try to slide and bunny hop their way through battles. The problem with game pacing is due to a number of other reasons, and from what I can tell, the largest offenders are (1) the absurdly generous passive spotting system, (2) the utterly underwhelming suppression effect, and (3) the insanely fast passive health recharge. 1. Passive Spotting System The passive spotting system in the BF6 Beta is overly generous in revealing enemy locations. For those who don't know, as long as an enemy is within something like 15 degrees of the center of your screen and up to a whopping ~35m or so away from you, the game automatically puts a large red dot above the enemy's head, giving away their position. This is before the enemy has even been manually spotted. Oftentimes, this leads to me identifying enemies far before I even see their character model. This mark is only visible to you, but it allows for easy target acquisition and enables a quick and easy follow up spot, at which point the enemy would then be marked similarly for the rest of the team. Screenshot for reference: As you can see, there is a red dot above the head of the enemy in front of me, who is by my estimation ~35m away from me. He is not spotted, which can be verified by his lack of a presence on my minimap in the lower left hand corner. The enemy directly behind me and firing at me is painted on the minimap, but the target pictured is not. This is what I mean when I refer to BF6's passive spotting system being overly generous. The target is far enough away from me that his character model can hardly be seen, yet there is still a large red dot above his head, giving away his position to me. And he hasn't even been manually spotted yet. Previous battlefield titles had a passive spotting system similar to this, where the enemy's name or a red dot would appear above their head if you were aiming close to them, but the distance that this happened at away from the player was very close ranged. In BF4, enemy locations were not revealed this way unless they were within ~10m of you. The current ~35m that this happens at in BF6 is beyond excessive, and it allows you to easily identify enemies very far away from you, and then enables you to spot them, at which point their location will be revealed in a similar fashion to every member on your team. This of course goes both ways, which means that if you happen to be found by an enemy in this manner, it is likely that you are spotted by the entire enemy team. This leads to a far greater number of players being spotted in BF6 than in previous BF titles, and oftentimes it seems that every enemy on the opposing team is running around with a red dot above their head, which takes careful environmental observation out of the battlefield skill set in favor of a brainless "see red, shoot red" strategy. This also contributes to the feeling that as soon as you turn a corner or find yourself out in the open, even for a fraction of a second, the entire enemy team and their mothers are shooting at you. This is a common complaint amongst BF6 beta testers. The combination of the crazy long passive spotting distance and the strength of spotting in general in this game really speeds up the pacing of the game, and makes it play more like an arena shooter than an entry into the battlefield franchise. Suggestion: Reduce the passive spotting distance to 10m, and remove the red dots above enemies for base level spotting. This would make it so that, under a base level spot, an enemy's location will only be revealed on the minimap, and no red dot would appear above their head. Think BFV style. This would do wonders in slowing down the pace of the game, and give players an actual chance to reposition without immediately being gunned down by 15 enemy players. It would also return tactically observing the environment for enemies to the game's skill set. The Recon class should then have an improved spot mechanic made available to them, either at as a core part of the class or as part of one of their field upgrade paths, that would allow them to spot enemies for the team with the red dots above their head in addition to the base level effect of revealing their location on minimap. This would give the Recon class much needed class identity, especially if DICE continues to keep weapon types unlocked across classes and follows through with moving the deploy beacon to the Assault class's toolkit. Weak Suppression Effect As it currently stands, the suppression effect is so weak in this game that oftentimes I don't even realize when I'm being suppressed. There is almost no noticeable increase to gun recoil, aim down sight sway, or even an observable visual cue. If I'm shooting at an enemy, and another enemy tries to "suppress" me by shooting at me, 99% of the time I am able to secure the original kill I was going after and then take cover like nothing even happened. To the best of my knowledge, the ONLY effect suppression has in this game is preventing passive healing from occurring. This weak suppression effect is another huge contributor to the extremely fast pacing of the BF6 beta. In previous Battlefield titles, the suppression mechanic would make it considerably harder to take out enemy players if you were receiving fire from another enemy. Your recoil and sway would increase drastically, oftentimes causing you to lose the ability to secure the kill. It also rewards teamwork, as a player could oftentimes protect their allies from harm by being aware and returning fire on an attacking enemy, even if they themselves are unable to secure the kill. In my opinion, it is no coincidence that the Battlefield games often referred to as the best entries in the franchise also had a heavy suppression effect. It worked wonders for controlling the pacing of the game by prolonging engagements with the enemy. Suggestion: Drastically increase the effects of the suppression mechanic, or implement new effects if they are not present at all. I honestly can't tell if the suppression system even affects recoil or gun sway in BF6, that is how pathetically weak it is. A good, heavy suppression effect should do the following things: Drastically increase aim down sight sway, even by a factor of 2x or 3x. This will make sniping more difficult while suppressed, solving the current sniper issue. Drastically increase gun recoil, even by a factor of 2x or 3x. This will make returning fire with an automatic weapon more difficult while suppressed, giving the edge to the non-suppressed player. Involve a heavy but not impeding visual effect on the suppressed player. Prevent passive health regeneration (this one is already in the BF6 beta). SUPPRESSION SHOULD NOT AFFECT BULLET SPREAD. Learn from the mistakes made in suppression adjustment during BF3 and BF4. Suppression maximizing the spread of the gun left too much up to pure luck or chance. A suppressed player should be able to win engagements, if the skill gap between engaged parties is large enough. Suppression affecting bullet spread is too suffocating. Equally important is that suppression should not build up too fast in order to avoid players becoming suppressed by a few missed shots. I would suggest having non-suppression focused weapons (ARs/SMGs/Carbines) contribute 2% toward the suppression threshold, which would require a total of 50 bullets from these weapon types to fully suppress someone. This would be a non-factor in 1v1 fights, but when a player is drastically outnumbered and receiving fire from multiple different enemies, it will still play a role. Then, LMGs would contribute 5% toward the suppression threshold at base level (requiring 20 bullets to fully suppress someone). They could also be given access to a weapon attachment, like Tracer Rounds, that would double their suppression contribution to 10% (requiring 10 bullets to fully suppress someone), but come at the cost of making the LMG's bullets more visible, which would more easily give away the position of the suppressing player to enemies. These values would ensure that suppression remains a deliberate and intentional expenditure of resources and prevent cases of "accidental" suppression from occurring more frequently. 3. Passive Healing Speed Passive health regeneration is crazy fast in this game. Health begins regenerating after a 5 second delay, and then it beings to heal around 20 health per second. This yields around a ~10 second window after taking critical damage before you are at full health again. That means that a medic has less than 10 seconds to give you medical support for it to actually be effective. This is Call of Duty levels of health regeneration. It works in CoD because CoD is a fast paced arena shooter, and there is no class that is dedicated to offering medical support. In Battlefield, however, health regeneration this fast takes away from the medic class, and helps to establish a pacing that is far too fast for the Battlefield feel. If soldiers are getting back into the fight faster, it speeds up battle engagements and ticket draw. To put these numbers into perspective, BF3/3, BF4, and BF1 all had the same health regeneration values which were a health regeneration delay of 16 seconds and then a passive healing rate of 5 hp/s, which in total required 36 seconds for a player to heal back to 100% health. Suggestion: Reduce the passive healing rate to require a total of 20 seconds to get back to full health. Keep the 5 second health regeneration delay, but reduce the passive healing rate to require 15 seconds to heal back 100 hp. This would help slow down the pacing of the game and return much needed importance to team play, especially in the case of the Medic class. It's also important to note that if this change were implemented, the Assault class would still heal to full health in just 10 seconds because of their passive improvement to health regeneration that is already in the game. Assault get a passive on one of their field spec trees that cuts both the healing delay and also the time required to heal to full health after health regeneration has started in half. This keeps the Assault class on this fast paced health regeneration, giving them a legitimate opportunity to shine as the true run and gun class. Despite this wall of text of grievances and suggestions, I found myself enjoying the BF6 beta. I honestly think BF6 is so very close to the perfect Battlefield game. I'm not posting this as a BF6 doomer, or someone trying to bury the game. I am invested in the success of this game, and have been waiting for years for another enjoyable, modern-time Battlefield title to come out. Anything I've brought attention to in this post is simply my experience of the beta so far, and the suggestions I make depict my opinion of what would make this game live up to its highest potential. I am interested in knowing what other people thought about the beta, so please let me know in the comments. Thanks for reading!twing1ea29 days agoSeasoned Vanguard616Views26likes25CommentsJets and helis seem terrible once again
The helis are seem obviously heavy, floaty, and extremely vulnerable to everything—stationary AA, AA tanks, Stingers, jets, even RPGs. Their weaponry is just weak, and the flight model just seems off. But as bad as helis are, jets are somehow even worse. Jets in BF6 are straight up atrocious. Sure, they can instakill other jets and maybe shoot down a heli (if you ever find one alive), but that’s literally it. The jet can’t repair itself (which might be a bug), its guns are useless against ground targets, and the laser-guided missiles are a complete joke. The bombs are totally ineffective too. The flight model is a near copy-paste of BF2042 which nobody wanted. People wanted the skill and feel of BF3 or BF4, but instead we’re stuck with another floaty, weightless mess with worthless weaponry and no effect on the battlefield. Every experienced pilot is saying a similar thing: the jets are bad, even the top players are consistently at the bottom of the scoreboard, game. If people like Silk, one of the best pilots of battlefield imo with 200+ kill games in bf4, is scoring literally last place on the scoreboard playing jets, there’s literally no hope for anyone else. I’m obviously basing all this on lots of gameplay footage and I may be making assumptions as it hasn’t launched but it’s not looking good. It’s honestly like DICE wants air combat to be a non-factor. Ever since BF2042, jets are basically just toys to let players jump in, crash in 20 seconds, and go back to running on the ground. This is not healthy for the game, and if BF6 keeps going down this road, the game is doomed to repeat 2042’s failures. We use to be excited to fly the powerhouse in bf3 and 4 felt almost like a kill streak. Now it’s a cinema and the helis are following suit.AerialDominance3 months agoSeasoned Adventurer1.9KViews26likes18CommentsMeet the Champions & Heroes of the EA Forums

Battlefield 6 is a chance to bring this franchise back to where it belongs – at the top of large-scale FPS. Let us group up as full 8-player squads. Let us bring our communities in, not split them up. Most players in 2025 aren’t jumping on with just one or two friends. We’re in Discord servers. We’re part of gaming groups. We’ve got 6, 7, 8 people ready to play together. But every match, we’re forced to split into two separate squads, losing coordination and energy. Why? Crossplay opens the door for bigger, unified teams. The tech is finally there. Let us use it. Give us 8-player squads – and for balance, let them split into two fireteams of 4. That way, comms and tactical orders can still flow clearly. You keep the structure while giving us the social freedom that Battlefield is built for. Here’s what 8-player squads solve: No more splitting up active groups Clans and communities can actually play together Better coordination during objectives and pushes Stronger team play across all skill levels Solo players get placed into fuller, more active squads Matches feel more alive and dynamic It scales perfectly with 64 and 128-player games The beauty of this is it doesn’t require a major change. No new mode. No complicated mechanics. It’s just a quality-of-life improvement that reflects how people play multiplayer games today. Battlefield has always been about squad-based chaos on a massive scale. This takes that vision and brings it into the current era of gaming. Let us bring our full squad in. Let us play with our full team. Give us 8-player squads with optional fireteam split, and you’ll see communities stick around longer, play more, and enjoy the experience the way it was meant to be. Please don’t overlook this. It’s a small change with huge impact. If you’re reading this and you agree – speak up. Let’s get this on the radar.DV0UR2 months agoSeasoned Rookie1.9KViews24likes22CommentsBattlefield 6: A Call of Duty Clone That Betrays the Series
Battlefield 6 is a profound disappointment for longtime fans, turning what was once a hallmark of large-scale, tactical warfare into a shameless Call of Duty clone. The Battlefield series has always stood out for its relative realism, emphasis on strategy, and teamwork, but EA has completely abandoned this identity in favor of a fast-paced, shallow, instant-gratification style that mirrors its competitor. One of the most egregious issues is the automatic and now absurdly fast health regeneration, a mechanic that not only mimics Call of Duty but strips away any sense of strategic consequence from gameplay. Instead of encouraging cautious play, reliance on teammates, or the critical role of the medic, this feature transforms Battlefield 6 into a chaotic run-and-gun fest where survival requires no thought or coordination. Every match feels like a mindless deathmatch straight out of Call of Duty, lacking the depth that once defined the series. Shame on you, EA, for sacrificing Battlefield’s uniqueness in a greedy chase for profit and mainstream appeal! Instead of innovating or honoring the series’ legacy, you’ve stripped it of its soul.Bullets4all2 months agoSeasoned Novice1.8KViews23likes17CommentsAbout bots and an offline mode - BF6
I understand that AI Bots is a very avoidable mechanism in Multplayer server; despite serving as either filling for a server or simply be a fodder for XP, AI bots are mostly disliked by players. But what about an offline mode? Or simply a private server where you alone can play with bots of all sorts of modes? AI benefitted those who desire to play alone and immerse themselves without getting destroyed by skilled players. Battlefront 2 (2017) introduced instant action in one of their updates where you could play multiplayer maps with offline bots in it. Players like me would love to see a offline mode by competing against bots on Multplayer maps. Are there any info of AI bots returning similar as they added in BF2042?Max20151262 months agoSeasoned Newcomer4.8KViews23likes31CommentsWhich mechanics do you want and which not?
So we've seen the multiplayer reveal, and have experienced Battlefield 6 for ourselves through the open beta. Let's have the discussion on which mechanics you liked and which not, and also from previous titles what you would like to see return in Battlefield 6 and what absolutely not? Here's my list. Interested to see what others think. YES Server Browser with persistent servers Rental servers Scoreboard (shouldn´t have to list this but BF2042 taught us otherwise) Limited ammo on vehicles, combined with re-supply stations Jets and helicopters should spawn at base, not mid-air Soldier leaning Squad revive Hardcore mode Basic militaristic cosmetics Class locked weapons 64 players max Modes: Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush, TDM, Frontlines, Operations Maps: good variety between AOW and Close Quarters, Naval maps, Night maps 1st person takedown animation Destruction Dynamic weather Realistic movement DLC with 4 new maps, new modes and vehicles every quarter Premium pass Campaign available offline Spawn beacon for recon Soldier dragging Battlelog Ribbons and medals Squad leads with kick functionality Order request for squad members, no order means squad lead rotation Functionality for clans/platoons NO Specialists Goofy cosmetics Cringe voicelines Excessive spotting In-game wallhack abilities/gadgets Crossplay on by default XL chaos modes 3rd person animations, it should be a proper FPS No excessive sliding, bunny hopping, dolphin diving or sprinting with a heavy LMG Sniper sweetspot Spawn beacon for assault Open weapons to all classes Shotgun next to primary for assault Flick That's it for now, but I might add to this list by means of editing the OP.822Views23likes41CommentsBattlefield 6 Aim Assist
It feels like Battlefield has become primarily a Console game first, and a PC game second. Frankly, the amount of assist players get is insulting to PC players. I was going to try to start this discussion from a more neutral stand point, but let's be honest, it ALWAYS devolves very quickly, "Mouse users can use their entire arm to aim!". I kept trying to re-write this in a careful manner, but there's no middle ground on this issue. I've literally never heard a controller player admit anything is over-tuned. With that said... The real solution is that Crossplay should NOT be enabled by default. Why? Console and PC versions of the game could then be tuned independently of each other. I often look at Steam charts looking for new games, and there's quite a few FPS games towards the top, with Counter-Strike always being in the #1 spot by a wide margin. Why isn't Battlefield up there in the top 10 at least? The formula for what makes Battlefield work has already been figured out ages ago, that's the hardest part. What I'm saying is that Dice needs to focus more on PC, what made BF great in the past, and there definitely is a market for it. If Crossplay is enabled by default, then the assist needs to be readjusted for both platforms for this next installment of Battlefield, especially if movement is going to be slowed down a bit. Right now Controller players get: 25% recoil reduction Snap to Target (2042 implementation is x4 times the distance of the previous title) Rotational assist Slow Down over Target Two things that need to be re-tuned are 25% reduction in recoil and Snap to Target. These both shouldn't exist to begin with, but if I'm being generous, then Snap to Target should be reverted back to what it was in previous titles, and the Recoil Reduction should be completely removed. Slight Tangent/Critique of Dice There's so many things I want to critique about 2042, but honestly, I'm getting to the point I have ZERO confidence in Dice these days. Even with the simple task of getting community feedback with Labs, what a joke. Only certain small groups of people have been invited, and with NDA's. How is that an open discussion? How is Labs anything different than what you did before besides giving Alpha testing a different name? Battlefield should be locked into one of the top 10 spots on Steam Charts at all times, doing less than that is failing at a time tested formula. I don't know, maybe the Console sector is just that lucrative, and it's worth it to cater to them. However, as a PC player, I'm tired of being insulted by every game having this LAZY attempt at balancing inputs by giving just ONE of them assist. I will not be buying the next Battlefield if this is the case.RaginSam5 months agoSeasoned Ace4.9KViews23likes57CommentsOpen vs locked weapons per class
Traditionally Battlefield has always been about classes, and with that came class locked weapons. This how it was and how it should be! One of the big mistakes they made with BF2042 was to first introduce specialists, and next they gave these specialists access to ALL weapons. Later on they partially fixed the issue by implementing back the class system, however weapons remained open. With the open beta we have a chance to make our voices being heard! As I'm sure they will be monitoring traffic towards what people want to play, let's make our actions speak louder than our words by all ignoring the Conquest mode and pick Closed Weapon Conquest instead. And from there I hope the message will be clear to the developers that we need closed weapons in ALL game modes!Solved4.9KViews21likes83Comments
