Hello everyone, I am extremely disappointed, and I know I'm not alone, with the decision to drastically reduce XP progression and unlocks on PVE Portal servers. This reversal, just days after launch, is a massive blow to the community and directly contradicts the promises made about the Portal feature. 1. The Broken Promise of "Full Progression" Portal was introduced as the ultimate sandbox, guaranteeing full progression regardless of the mode chosen. This was one of the biggest selling points for a large segment of the player base. The current implementation severely penalizes players who simply want to enjoy the PVE experience, learn new weapons, or progress at their own pace without the pressure of PVP. 2. The Nerf Solved Nothing and Punishes Honest Players The rush to "fix" XP farming has not resolved the underlying issue and has caused collateral damage: The Problem is the System, Not the Players: The initial XP farms were a predictable consequence of the tool. The fact that the server capacity issue is still prevalent shows that the XP nerf was a misguided attempt to mask a systemic infrastructure problem, not a solution to farming. Ineffective Measure: The XP farm servers are still over-capacity or have simply adapted to the new restrictions. Legitimate PVE players, however, are now left with a pointless grind. 3. This Drastic Nerf Will Kill Portal Ultimately, this broad nerf will do far more harm than good by killing the incentive to play the mode for the vast majority of users. Why would players spend time in Portal when their time spent is no longer respected by the progression system? Good community maps and genuinely fun PVE experiences will not be played under these conditions. Progression is the engine of engagement. By throttling it globally, you ensure that Portal, one of the game's key selling points, becomes a deserted ghost mode. Proposed Solutions: Restore Trust and Progression Instead of penalizing everyone, we urge the development team to adopt a multi-pronged approach that restores the promised progression for legitimate PVE play while seriously monitoring abuse. A. Restore Legitimate PVE Progression Re-enable Full XP on Official Game Modes: Progression (Full XP, Weapon Masters, Unlocks) must be fully restored for Portal experiences based on the official game types, even with AI bots filling the slots (i.e., Conquest, Rush, Breakthrough, Escalation, Team Deathmatch, FFA, and King of the Hill), in both Normal and Hardcore settings. Reinstate Solo/Co-op Mode: The dedicated Solo/Co-op vs. AI mode should be restored to Full Progression. This is the intended way for players to chill, learn the maps, and progress their unlocks without any impact on the live server environment. B. Target Abusers, Not the Community Serious Monitoring of Abusive Experiences: Implement active and immediate monitoring to identify and de-list or restrict XP only on custom servers that clearly use exploitative or non-conventional rule changes (e.g., 1-HP bots, instant respawns, AFK loop setups). Re-evaluate Unlock Requirements: Acknowledging the slow pace of unlocks, some Tier 1 requirements and attachments are currently an excessive "grind fest." Please take this opportunity to re-evaluate the requirements to make the core progression path less frustrating, reducing the incentive for players to seek out farming exploits in the first place. This community bought the game based on the promise of Portal's freedom and "full progression." We need you to deliver on that promise with targeted, effective solutions, not a blanket nerf that harms your loyal players. Thank you for your time and consideration.retrib9 months agoSeasoned Rookie32KViews388likes1238CommentsSeason 3 is here! We want your feedback!
Now that Season 3 has been released we want to hear from you. How does Railway to Golmud feel to play? Do you feel like the map is the right size? Too big? Or not big enough? With Season 3 vehicles were given a big overhaul. How do they feel to play now? Is there more versatility for ground vehicles? Does the Little Bird still feel dominant? Automatic weapon recoil was adjusted with Season 3, how is this feeling? This thread is primarily for feedback and discussion about the new Season. If you are having an in game issue please check to see if a thread has already been made and if not please make a thread reporting the issue.SolvedEA_Rtas3 months agoCommunity Manager11KViews31likes768CommentsControversial Topic, but... Female Soldiers.
I'd like to start by saying I hope we can all be adults here while going through this topic. Two ideas can exist simultaneously, and those for me are that I have respect for women who serve or want to serve in frontline combat roles while at the same time I don't think they should. I believe that the capacity for violence and the burden put on those who commit it should be relegated to men. The ability to make war is a terrible yet necessary thing and when it comes down to it, men are simply more naturally inclined to be better at it and have a greater desire to do it. The entire basis of human nature is structured on men doing whatever is necessary to protect women and children. I obviously know that there are some who disagree with me here, but I also know that there are many who agree. There is also absolutely nothing misogynistic or sexist about these views, and it's okay to say that. People who hold this opinion don't believe any silly nonsense like "women are inferior" or anything like that, we simply believe that men and women are different and that's okay. So, why do I say all of this and why am I bringing up a topic that I know is going to be so controversial? I do it because I would like to ask Dice and EA to give us the ability to toggle female soldiers. I'm sorry if this offends some, but I'm sure some agree with me; I just don't want to play a war game with women in it. I don't want to hear women shouting as they're dying, I don't want to be firing at women, I just don't like it. I know there are women in combat roles in the modern age (though they are very few and far between), but it also still breaks the immersive experience to me. The most obviously egregious example of this was Battlefield V, and we all know how that controversy went. I hope that the world is in a more mature place to discuss something like this now and I feel like a toggle that gives everybody the option to play how they want isn't asking for too much. I'd also like to make it clear that I don't feel the same way about women in the military in general. I believe they definitely can excel in plenty of other roles such as in aviation, communication, command; it's just the frontline combat roles, which is what Battlefield is all about. And for my female gamers out there who enjoy these games, I think that's great and I want you to feel like you belong. These opinions have no relation to the idea of female gamers. Battlefield is a communal experience but at the same time is an individual experience for each of us who play. I know that after the madness of the last decade or so it's difficult to speak up on topics like this but I hope those who feel the same way aren't afraid to anymore. I know some would be offended and that we would get all of the articles from the "big" gaming outlets that no one cares about anymore but I hold out hope that with Dice and EA doing so much right on this game that maybe they'll have the guts to ignore the loud minority on something like this. I have full confidence that in the moment we're in a decision like this would not impact sales of a game that is shaping up to be so good. Even implementation after launch would be great. I hope that this is allowed to be posted here and that EA doesn't flag it as inappropriate or anything like that. For anyone who reads or engages with it, I appreciate your time.DomiPastrami1 year agoSeasoned Rookie15KViews215likes634CommentsGive PC Players The Ability To Disable Crossplay
I am pretty irritated that Dice isnt forcing console players to play with pc if they dont want to. But they are forcing pc to play with console even if we dont want to. What is with the catering to consoles but not your original fan base on pc. You guys have given too much ASsistance to console players trying to balance controller and quite honestly im fed up with it. We dont care that they cant match our precision its not our fault that controller cant reproduce precision. Giving them less recoil bullet magnetism aim assist all stacked on top of each other is doing too much. Getting really tired of dying to a controller player while head camping bc ofthe combination of all these things together just gives them an advantage that as a pc player I just cant engage them in certain scanarios and win they have too much assistance going on under the hood. They just hold down the trigger on any gun and get If you want to give them that much of a handicap fine but give pc players the ability to turn off crossplay. It should never be forced on anyone period if they dont want it on. Makes no sense why you give console the option but not pc. I want to be able to have the option of just playing with pc players.yungluke2229 months agoSeasoned Scout16KViews197likes588CommentsSecurity Requirements on BF6 on PCs!

Hey folks, AC from the SPEAR Anti-Cheat Team here, hope everyone's having fun in the Battlefield 6 Open Beta! I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge some of the feedback around cheating in the game, especially around Secure Boot. On Secure Boot, I want to be clear that Secure Boot is not, and was not intended to be a silver bullet. Secure Boot is how you're helping us build up our arsenal. It’s another barrier that helps us make it harder for cheat developers to create cheat programs, and makes it easier for us to detect it when they do. There are certain signals that we can only trust when Secure Boot is enabled, which we spoke of before in our previous posts, like here https://steamcommunity.com/app/2807960/discussions/0/600785827026563959/. One example, Secure Boot prevents your machine from running with vulnerable drivers enabled. So if Secure Boot is running and we see those drivers loaded, we know something's a bit off. I also wanted to thank you all for taking the time to report cheaters, cheat programs and specific clips to us. Your reports help us zero in and lead us to finding up and coming cheat communities, reporting one actual cheater often can lead to new detection techniques and help us keep them from impacting your experience. Since Open Beta Early Access’s launch: Javelin has prevented 330,000 attempts to cheat or tamper with anti-cheat controls. You’ve reported 44,000 instances of potential cheaters during day one and another 60,000 so far today. We are already using these with our own Gameplay Integrity team to add and improve our detections for Battlefield 6. They are also working with the Battlefield Positive Play team, to actively remove those reported we confirm to be cheaters. Anti-Cheat isn't one and done, it's an ever evolving battlefield, and what has worked for us previously or in different games doesn't always work in all of them. I hope this helps, and please keep the reports coming in - we'll continue cleaning up the cheaters so you can have a fair game. We’re looking forward to the Open Beta tomorrow, and if you need to, the best way to help combat cheaters in Battlefield 6 is by reporting them via their profiles on the score screen. See you on the Battlefield! - ACAntiCheatWard1 year agoEA Anticheat Team47KViews76likes334CommentsStrike Point No Longer Feels Tactical
I have never raised an issue with a game and how it is run. the decision to change the rules in the strike point game mode make it unplayable as it takes away from the unique tactical element of the mode and just creates another watered down rush to the objective game mode. It’s honestly unbelievable that we are now deep into Season 3 and many of the biggest Battlefield 6 issues are STILL here — some of them dating all the way back to Season 1 and even launch week. This is not about “small glitches” anymore. These are gameplay-breaking problems affecting gunfights, matchmaking, performance, networking, and overall game stability. The community has been reporting the same issues for months, yet every new update somehow introduces even more problems instead of fixing the old ones. Here’s what players are STILL experiencing in Season 3: Broken hit registration Delayed damage and desync Rubberbanding Packet burst feeling Random ping spikes Matchmaking putting players into high-latency servers Massive frame-time spikes and stuttering Inconsistent recoil and aiming responsiveness UI bugs that survive multiple patches Visual glitches making maps literally unplayable Ranked mode launching with known bugs And the worst part? A lot of players have perfectly stable internet, high FPS, strong PCs, and STILL get terrible gameplay quality because the issue is clearly server-side or netcode-related. Community reports repeatedly show that official servers feel dramatically worse than community-hosted experiences. Even EA Forum posts are filled with complaints about: broken HUD ping indicators, severe lag after the Season 3 update, FPS instability, missing UI elements, persistent unlock notifications, and visual bugs that completely blind players on certain maps. Meanwhile, DICE openly launched Ranked Battle Royale with a list of “known issues” already acknowledged on day one. The Battlefield community has supported this franchise for years because when Battlefield works, it’s one of the best FPS experiences on the market. But right now it feels like players are being used as beta testers every single season. How does a company the size of Electronic Arts and DICE still struggle with: basic server stability, functioning hit registration, proper matchmaking routing, and performance consistency months after launch? Players should not need VPNs, routing workarounds, FPS caps, or third-party fixes just to make the game feel playable. The community is tired of hearing: “We are investigating.” We want actual fixes. Season 3 should have been about improving the game. Instead, many players feel like the technical state is worse than before. Battlefield deserves better. And honestly, so do the players paying for it. (cm edit updated title for vis)DrHellDog2 months agoSeasoned Rookie2.5KViews18likes217CommentsUnable to find matches in ranked BR
Hello, I have logged 1,500 hours of Battlefield 6 on the Singapore server since the Hong Kong server was removed. I am an Asian battle royale player and can only access Asian servers. However, barely anyone plays battle royale on the Singapore server these days. A month ago, I could only find matches starting at 1 PM Beijing Time. Yesterday, I could not get into a game until 7:30 PM. On June 30, I could not match with any players even at 11:30 PM. Is ranked battle royale practically dead on Asian servers? Can anything be done to fix this? For one thing, you have released too many separate battle royale modes, splitting the player population. For another, I have never seen a ranked mode with zero official tournaments or promotions. Are you deliberately pushing battle royale players away? I have not been able to join a single ranked match on the Singapore server since June 30. What can I do if I want to play ranked? Please respond to me. We haven’t gotten any new battle royale maps since last October. A great game lives and dies by its player base. I’m sure this has been brought up before, but this game really needs to bring back solo and co-op mode with half XP progression. I don’t get to play that much anymore, but when I do, I would prefer to just play a few rounds with my friends without worrying about the insane amount of cheaters I’ve come across lately, or have to deal with sweaty players. Not only that, but from what I’ve seen and experienced, fans are disappointed with season 2 and player counts are lower than expected. So, adding in solo/co-op mode would probably bring back a ton of player to the game and make EA some money so they can stop laying off workers on the BF6 team.🤔 (cm edit updated title for vis)Mantis505 months agoSeasoned Novice3.5KViews43likes139CommentsDear EA/DICE: You’re Losing the Battlefield Community
Dear Developers, I want to start by saying that I honestly wish I didn’t have to write this post. I’m writing this as someone who’s genuinely sad and frustrated. It’s obvious that EA wanted to attract CoD players — and at first, I completely understood that and had no problem with it. My first impressions from the Beta were great, I was truly hyped, pre-ordered the Phantom Edition, and couldn’t wait for October 10th. Today I’m level 110, and I think it’s finally time to share my thoughts. I’ve been playing Battlefield for around 15 years, and my favorite will always be BF2 (RIP GameSpy). Well… we definitely got a product aimed at CoD players — but in the worst possible way. The TTK and TTD are absolutely miserable, the 4-player party limit is a joke, forced operator choices feel out of place, and there’s NO SERVER BROWSER! How can the lead producer say we don’t need one? I honestly thought it was a joke at first — and that the community feedback would be heard — but nothing ever happened. Matchmaking is a disaster. Every second match I play is completely unbalanced. There’s no option to pick the attacking or defending side without disconnecting and reconnecting a dozen times until it finally puts me where I want to be. This problem used to be handled by server admins through the browser — they helped keep matches fair and balanced. And don’t even get me started on the challenges. They’re an absolute pain to complete. I honestly don’t know if they were designed by an AI or by someone who’s never actually played the game, but they’re a complete tragedy. The overall pace of the game is way too fast, leaving almost no time for proper teamplay, even when you actually try to play tactically with friends. The gameplay experience feels on par with BF2042 — but ironically, that game still had more freedom. I honestly get the feeling that the developers haven’t played this game for more than 20 minutes… or worse, that this is intentional — which would be really sad and could bury the entire franchise. What also really disappoints me is the complete lack of developer feedback here on the forums. I understand you can’t respond to every single post, but it would be basic respect to at least address some of the hot topics here. Right now the community feels unheard, like our frustration just keeps piling up and EA leadership simply doesn’t care. Maps, maps, maps… This topic has already been brought up several times — and yeah, I wouldn’t say the maps are terrible, but they are really, really small and focused entirely on running and shooting with no sense of tactics whatsoever. As for the bugs, I’m still patient for now. We’re only in the first season, and I know updates will come — bugs happen in every game at launch. That said, I did expect a bit more polish for a 100€ title, but I can still understand it… for now. To end on a more positive note — the graphics are absolutely beautiful. I just wish we could enjoy this amazing world with more freedom, playing the way players want to play, not the way we’re being forced to. Please, developers — take a little time to listen to what players here on the forums are saying and what’s frustrating them. Otherwise, this could genuinely bury the whole franchise. Thank you for your time.AcidryzeN9 months agoSeasoned Ace5.9KViews130likes139CommentsPortal Server Visibility/Matchmaking Issue (low player count regions)
Edit: Matchmaking (via the multiplayer tab) is currently horrendous in low player count regions. Players are scattered across different games/disbanded after a game ends. This often results in players being thrown into empty lobbies which are populated mostly by bots. This is especially an issue in regions that have a relatively low number of players. Portal is NOT a good alternative because the Portal servers have a much lower tickrate (30 Hz). Also, not all servers hosted on Portal are visible on the Portal server browser, and understandably so, because the browser would otherwise be cluttered. The problem is that players on South African servers struggle to find portal games because there is no option to select Africa as a search region. Please fix the portal visibility issue and the matchmaking. Edit 2: There are enough players in the low player count regions for full games. It's just that the current matchmaking algorithm is unnecessarily splitting those players into multiple games Dice plzzzSolved4.2KViews71likes127CommentsBring bots back to portal

Can we please get proper support for using HOSAS and HOTAS, Flying heli's and jets has always been a part of battlefield... The best way to fly is to use flight sticks. The ingame settings have an option for Joystick... But that's just it... 1 single joystick... Most people will fly with flight sticks that are multiple controllers such as HOSAS aka hand on stick on stick (2x joysticks) Or HOTAS aka hand on throttle on stick ( 1x joystick and a throttle) That's 2 controllers each but the game won't let us use 2 controllers. Which sucks by the way and it's completely lazy to leave this support out of the game considering flying is always a big part of battlefield. and we have been asking again and again. Thank you for adding "joystick" in the settings but can you add another one so our other controller works too? Because using a keyboard and a stick is horrible and its not immersive or fun. I know we could use emulators of xbox controllers but that's not the same, they are buggy and can be blocked or flagged by anti cheats, so that's not an option we want to use.VT_Agrona9 months agoSeasoned Novice2.4KViews13likes123CommentsHardcore mode for veterans and those who prefer simulation
Hi DICE / EA team, I’ve been a Battlefield player since Bad Company 2 and I deeply value the tactical, immersive experience the franchise has always offered. Hardcore mode—with reduced HUD, one-shot kills, friendly fire, no minimap—was an iconic part of Battlefield’s identity. It’s disappointing that in Battlefield 6 Hardcore is only available through Portal, requiring custom servers and manual setup. Many long-time fans (including myself) just want to queue into a standard Hardcore playlist via matchmaking, like in BF3 and BF4. A simple option at the start of matchmaking—"Standard" vs "Hardcore"—would let new players join the normal mode, while veterans could select what they know and love. This choice doesn’t harm anyone and addresses both audiences fairly. Portal cannot replace matchmaking: lack XP progression, and aren’t easily discoverable. Access to Hardcore via matchmaking would revitalize competitive play and honor Battlefield’s legacy. Please consider adding an official Hardcore playlist to standard matchmaking. Many fans have voiced similar concerns and would greatly appreciate such a feature. Thank you for listening.spectro9751 year agoSeasoned Rookie15KViews275likes123CommentsDisappointed by Battlefield 6’s Lack of Linux Support
To whom it may concern, I was genuinely excited about Battlefield 6. The trailers, the gameplay previews—all of it looked amazing. But that excitement was instantly deflated when I realized there’s no support for Linux at all! I’m running Ubuntu LTS and have absolutely no interest in switching back to Windows just to play EA games. It’s frustrating, to say the least, that in 2025 we’re still dealing with such narrow platform support. Linux users are no longer a fringe group—we’re passionate, loyal, and growing. Ignoring us feels like a slap in the face. I won’t be buying Battlefield 6 unless Linux support is taken seriously. Simple as that. Please rethink this decision—not just for me, but for the entire Linux community. This thread is for the person who is tired of matchmaking. For the person who is tired of joining rounds mid-game. For the person who is tired of having their party break at the end of matches and needing to leave games and recreate their party with their friends. For the person who is tired of playing attacker or defender over and over. For the person who is tired of playing maps in a random order. For the person who misses options and game modes that used to be in Battlefield games. For the person who is tired of sweats, or for the person who doesn't mind sweats. Every one of these experiences can be hosted and started with just one person. There is no need to queue up and wait for 4, 12, or 20 players to join. Each experience can be enjoyed with no other humans or as an experience that is full with only humans. Each one will fill with bots, as necessary, and then the bots will be replaced as humans join. You can either search for the experiences using the titles provided, or search for the experience code listed (the easier method). Other Creators: "RUSH | 100 player - PVE + solo start with bots V9" : Provided by animattic. 11NMT Battlefield Owners: "Casual Conquest..." : Solo-start (of course!) large scale conquest that is a faithful reproduction of the real thing, except with the ability to play against bots and level up your skill. Vehicles respawn quickly to get you back in the action. Bots will be replaced by humans, as humans join, but a minimum of 24 bots total will always be present, to give that casual feel. ZH6YV "Night Conquest..." : Conquest experiences like the previous, but at night. One is just the night maps as they are available to us. Another one is daylight maps with dark and blue filters, to mimic a full moon night or dusk. Another is night maps with a green NVG effect applied to give a more raw and gritty NVG effect that automatically switches on shortly after deploying. And the final one is night maps with actual NVG goggles, but they are only really useful in certain dark areas due to the amount of light in the current night maps. Night Conquest: 1XTQA Moon light/dusk (fake night): ZMQMZ NVG (automatic) gritty fake NVG filter all the time: ZNT41 Night with NVG goggles (toggle on) real NVG that is only useful in some areas: ZMBXX "Winter Conquest..." : Just like Casual Conquest, but all the maps are played in the blowing snow. It's BF4. The assault class can revive and heal teammates. The recon class has a spawn beacon. The color tone is a bit warmer. Movement speed is slowed down. Projectile speed is slowed down. Headshot damage is increased. And body damage is decreased. ZVEHH "Heat of Battle..." : A bright and saturated version of conquest where a variety of colored flares appear each time someone spawns, kills, dies, or takes damage. This allows you to have the normal fun experience but also see and appreciate the battle playing out around you. It creates a broad heat map of activity; keep moving if you don't want to give away your position. ZTBJ1 "Beach Invasion": Play the classic beach invasion experience. As attacker, your goal is to simply capture the objective without running out of time, as defenders try to push you back. Scripted events occur as the battle progresses, shifting who has the upper hand. 1XNJJ "Large Vehicle TDM..." : Classic conquest maps with vehicles and everything, but no objectives. The only objective is to get to the top of the scoreboard, be on the winning team, have a sweet KDR, or have a killer streak. Bots backfill to maintain 26 players per team. ZMSS7 "Cairo Chaos..." : Siege of Cairo with a new twist. One street. One objective. 28 vs 28. A ton of cover has been added, plus a couple buildings for snipers to oversee the battlefield. Use of ladders to increase verticality and sustain the crazy number of players is encouraged. ZPQ25 "Hardcore Team Deathmatch - Small Maps - Bot Fill" : A rotation of small infantry maps with Hardcore settings. Experience the experience that EA forgot how to provide. Tons of fun and action! YKBXU "4vs4 Elimination..." : A classic elimination game mode, made up of multiple rounds within the same match, where you get one life per round, switch sides after a couple of wins, and the first team to 4 rounds won wins the match. Bots backfill as necessary. 1YHR7 "4vs4 Search and Destroy..." : A classic elimination game mode, same as 'Elimination', except 2 MCOMs are added and the attackers may destroy one in order to end the round. Bots backfill as necessary. 1YKGF Free to Play: "Little Bird TDM..." : A TDM server where the primary weapon is the Little Bird. The bots move around, fly, and don't just stand in one spot and wait for you to kill them. Players spawn randomly in empty Little Birds up to half the map away, or designated spawn points, in order to keep spawns unpredictable and reduce issues with spawn killing. ZTPWV "REDSEC Casual Conquest...": Casual conquest for people who haven't purchased BF6. As a console player in New Zealand, I’m finding the current crossplay setup very limiting. Turning crossplay off isn’t realistic here because of our small player base, matchmaking times become far too long. But leaving it on forces us into lobbies with PC mouse-and-keyboard players, which feels unbalanced and discouraging. What we really need is a console-only crossplay option (Xbox + PlayStation, no PC). This would keep matchmaking healthy in smaller regions like NZ/AU while protecting controller players from the MnK advantage and PC cheating concerns. Please consider adding this option, it would make a huge difference for the long-term health of the game in our region.L0wK3yNZ10 months agoSeasoned Traveler4.1KViews104likes118Comments
