[UPDATE] Battlefield 6 Update: On Secure Boot & Cheats
Hey folks, AC from the SPEAR Anti-Cheat Team here, hope everyone's having fun in the Battlefield 6 Open Beta! I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge some of the feedback around cheating in the game, especially around Secure Boot. On Secure Boot, I want to be clear that Secure Boot is not, and was not intended to be a silver bullet. Secure Boot is how you're helping us build up our arsenal. It’s another barrier that helps us make it harder for cheat developers to create cheat programs, and makes it easier for us to detect it when they do. There are certain signals that we can only trust when Secure Boot is enabled, which we spoke of before in our previous posts, like here https://steamcommunity.com/app/2807960/discussions/0/600785827026563959/. One example, Secure Boot prevents your machine from running with vulnerable drivers enabled. So if Secure Boot is running and we see those drivers loaded, we know something's a bit off. I also wanted to thank you all for taking the time to report cheaters, cheat programs and specific clips to us. Your reports help us zero in and lead us to finding up and coming cheat communities, reporting one actual cheater often can lead to new detection techniques and help us keep them from impacting your experience. Since Open Beta Early Access’s launch: Javelin has prevented 330,000 attempts to cheat or tamper with anti-cheat controls. You’ve reported 44,000 instances of potential cheaters during day one and another 60,000 so far today. We are already using these with our own Gameplay Integrity team to add and improve our detections for Battlefield 6. They are also working with the Battlefield Positive Play team, to actively remove those reported we confirm to be cheaters. Anti-Cheat isn't one and done, it's an ever evolving battlefield, and what has worked for us previously or in different games doesn't always work in all of them. I hope this helps, and please keep the reports coming in - we'll continue cleaning up the cheaters so you can have a fair game. We’re looking forward to the Open Beta tomorrow, and if you need to, the best way to help combat cheaters in Battlefield 6 is by reporting them via their profiles on the score screen. See you on the Battlefield! - ACAntiCheatWard4 months agoEA Anticheat Team40KViews73likes314CommentsI was just banned in BF6

***(Changes update 26/10/2025) Promote subject guys for better and more enjoyable gameplay in the future💙 Hey Dice Please fix or slightly nerf the current 0.005% bullet drop feeling. Right now the ballistic physics in Battlefield 6 feel almost completely flat — and that takes away a huge part of what made sniping in Battlefield 4 so satisfying. In BF4, every headshot felt like an achievement. You had to calculate range, bullet drop, and timing — it gave you that true “sniper” feeling, that rush when you nailed a long-range shot after judging distance and elevation just right. It wasn’t just aiming — it was skill. Now in BF6, it feels like you just aim directly at the head, even from far away, and you get an instant kill. There’s almost no need to think, to compensate, to feel that learning curve that made Battlefield sniping so special. All I’m asking for is a small adjustment — a touch more bullet drop or travel time. Not a full rework, just enough to bring back that sense of mastery and reward that the Battlefield community loved so much in BF4. Because right now, it’s just not as fun as it used to be — and that satisfaction of hitting a real calculated headshot is missing. Add — The Opportunity to cancel the slide, its causing the player to keep sliding into a danger zone and end up dying. **Fix — Mini map is too tiny even on "large" size. **Fix — The wrong hand placment on foregrip when adding lasers on top of the rails. **Fix — The position of the smg's/Snipers/etc.. is not centered on screen when running. (The weapons is located a little to the left) **Fix — The game needs to be optimized cause the Gameplay performance is very bad the game is on very low and its stutering and thers very low fps even on rtx4070ti. (high spec pc etc.. **Fix — Remove the 100-point attachment limit for weapons. Instead, allow players to equip as many attachments as they want, but make each one come with stronger pros and cons. This way, customization can be more creative without breaking balance18KViews54likes81CommentsChange Minimap to top Left
Can you consider having the option for players to move the Minimap Location to the top Left, Top Right, Bottom Right etc.... Having it in the bottom left just feels weird to me. My biggest concern with Battlefield 6 is the restriction on multiplayer party size. Currently, the party size is capped at 4 players, which matches the in-game 4-player squad size. While I understand the gameplay is centered around a 4-person squad, the main issue is that when you have more than 4 friends wanting to play together, there is no way to ensure you are all in the same game or let alone the same team. This fragmentation is frustrating for larger groups and detracts from the social aspect that makes Battlefield so enjoyable. My suggestion is to increase the maximum party size to 8 players while keeping the squad size of 4 players. When a party of 5-8 players joins a match, the game should automatically split them into two squads on the same team. This way, larger groups of 5+ can ensure they are all playing together and coordinating, even if they are divided into separate squads once the match begins; all while keeping squad gameplay balanced with the intended 4-player squad size.ShadowSageZ2 months agoSeasoned Newcomer15KViews100likes52CommentsAbout bots and an offline mode - BF6
I understand that AI Bots is a very avoidable mechanism in Multplayer server; despite serving as either filling for a server or simply be a fodder for XP, AI bots are mostly disliked by players. But what about an offline mode? Or simply a private server where you alone can play with bots of all sorts of modes? AI benefitted those who desire to play alone and immerse themselves without getting destroyed by skilled players. Battlefront 2 (2017) introduced instant action in one of their updates where you could play multiplayer maps with offline bots in it. Players like me would love to see a offline mode by competing against bots on Multplayer maps. Are there any info of AI bots returning similar as they added in BF2042?Max20151264 months agoSeasoned Novice15KViews55likes56CommentsThe Portal XP Nerf and the Betrayal of "Full Progression" - Targeted Solutions
Hello everyone, I am extremely disappointed, and I know I'm not alone, with the decision to drastically reduce XP progression and unlocks on PVE Portal servers. This reversal, just days after launch, is a massive blow to the community and directly contradicts the promises made about the Portal feature. 1. The Broken Promise of "Full Progression" Portal was introduced as the ultimate sandbox, guaranteeing full progression regardless of the mode chosen. This was one of the biggest selling points for a large segment of the player base. The current implementation severely penalizes players who simply want to enjoy the PVE experience, learn new weapons, or progress at their own pace without the pressure of PVP. 2. The Nerf Solved Nothing and Punishes Honest Players The rush to "fix" XP farming has not resolved the underlying issue and has caused collateral damage: The Problem is the System, Not the Players: The initial XP farms were a predictable consequence of the tool. The fact that the server capacity issue is still prevalent shows that the XP nerf was a misguided attempt to mask a systemic infrastructure problem, not a solution to farming. Ineffective Measure: The XP farm servers are still over-capacity or have simply adapted to the new restrictions. Legitimate PVE players, however, are now left with a pointless grind. 3. This Drastic Nerf Will Kill Portal Ultimately, this broad nerf will do far more harm than good by killing the incentive to play the mode for the vast majority of users. Why would players spend time in Portal when their time spent is no longer respected by the progression system? Good community maps and genuinely fun PVE experiences will not be played under these conditions. Progression is the engine of engagement. By throttling it globally, you ensure that Portal, one of the game's key selling points, becomes a deserted ghost mode. Proposed Solutions: Restore Trust and Progression Instead of penalizing everyone, we urge the development team to adopt a multi-pronged approach that restores the promised progression for legitimate PVE play while seriously monitoring abuse. A. Restore Legitimate PVE Progression Re-enable Full XP on Official Game Modes: Progression (Full XP, Weapon Masters, Unlocks) must be fully restored for Portal experiences based on the official game types, even with AI bots filling the slots (i.e., Conquest, Rush, Breakthrough, Escalation, Team Deathmatch, FFA, and King of the Hill), in both Normal and Hardcore settings. Reinstate Solo/Co-op Mode: The dedicated Solo/Co-op vs. AI mode should be restored to Full Progression. This is the intended way for players to chill, learn the maps, and progress their unlocks without any impact on the live server environment. B. Target Abusers, Not the Community Serious Monitoring of Abusive Experiences: Implement active and immediate monitoring to identify and de-list or restrict XP only on custom servers that clearly use exploitative or non-conventional rule changes (e.g., 1-HP bots, instant respawns, AFK loop setups). Re-evaluate Unlock Requirements: Acknowledging the slow pace of unlocks, some Tier 1 requirements and attachments are currently an excessive "grind fest." Please take this opportunity to re-evaluate the requirements to make the core progression path less frustrating, reducing the incentive for players to seek out farming exploits in the first place. This community bought the game based on the promise of Portal's freedom and "full progression." We need you to deliver on that promise with targeted, effective solutions, not a blanket nerf that harms your loyal players. Thank you for your time and consideration.retrib2 months agoSeasoned Rookie14KViews345likes1070CommentsStill a three friend party limit for BF6?
Reading BF2042 forums and the like it looks like the limitation of three friends (a four person party) is still there years later, even though they said it was a limitation they'd look into overcoming and something that was expressed as a desire recently when the community was asked about what they wanted from a server browser... To be specific, since EA Connect party limit is 4 players and the 'server browser' is only for Portal, you cannot play on the main Battlefield servers with the wider Battlefield community with more than three friends. Any more than three and they cannot join your party, so they will no doubt be sent to a different server. The only way to all get on the same one would be using a server browser, but since EA are saying they think Portal 'solves' this, you can only play on community created servers. So... Portal does not address this at all. I can only imagine they want their match-making systems to not have to cope multiple squads existing on the same servers? It can't be a technical limitation that they haven't been able to address since the release of BF2042, so what is it?disposalist4 months agoSeasoned Ace13KViews40likes19CommentsHow the hell do i turn off narrator in bf6

To whom it may concern, I was genuinely excited about Battlefield 6. The trailers, the gameplay previews—all of it looked amazing. But that excitement was instantly deflated when I realized there’s no support for Linux at all! I’m running Ubuntu LTS and have absolutely no interest in switching back to Windows just to play EA games. It’s frustrating, to say the least, that in 2025 we’re still dealing with such narrow platform support. Linux users are no longer a fringe group—we’re passionate, loyal, and growing. Ignoring us feels like a slap in the face. I won’t be buying Battlefield 6 unless Linux support is taken seriously. Simple as that. Please rethink this decision—not just for me, but for the entire Linux community. Both me and my son want to play this game and I'm wondering is it possible for us both to play having just purchased one copy of the game. Really don't want to have to spend nearly £150. So for example if u by the game through ea on the pc or through my account on the xbox could we both play at the same time with having his xbox set as home console? Hi DICE / EA team, I’ve been a Battlefield player since Bad Company 2 and I deeply value the tactical, immersive experience the franchise has always offered. Hardcore mode—with reduced HUD, one-shot kills, friendly fire, no minimap—was an iconic part of Battlefield’s identity. It’s disappointing that in Battlefield 6 Hardcore is only available through Portal, requiring custom servers and manual setup. Many long-time fans (including myself) just want to queue into a standard Hardcore playlist via matchmaking, like in BF3 and BF4. A simple option at the start of matchmaking—"Standard" vs "Hardcore"—would let new players join the normal mode, while veterans could select what they know and love. This choice doesn’t harm anyone and addresses both audiences fairly. Portal cannot replace matchmaking: lack XP progression, and aren’t easily discoverable. Access to Hardcore via matchmaking would revitalize competitive play and honor Battlefield’s legacy. Please consider adding an official Hardcore playlist to standard matchmaking. Many fans have voiced similar concerns and would greatly appreciate such a feature. Thank you for listening.spectro9754 months agoSeasoned Rookie12KViews248likes117Commentsuser.cfg trick lower CPU usage doesn't work - hurts FPS on Intel E-Cores
I'm sure some of you are aware that a lot of youtubers/redditors have been going around talking about a magic cure for "high CPU usage". You put a 'user.cfg' file with the following words, into your battlefield steam folder: Thread.ProcessorCount 8 Thread.MaxProcessorCount 8 Thread.MinFreeProcessorCount 0 Thread.JobThreadPriority 0 GstRender.Thread.MaxProcessorCount 16 You adjust to 6/6/12 if you have a 6 core processor, or 4/4/8 for a quad core. And then the youtuber loads into a completely different map from the one he was on when he shows the 'high cpu usage', and like magic, in this other map, he's getting lower CPU usage! Miracle! Be advised that this doesn't work. It does nothing. The game already knows how to use your CPU cores. Telling it you have 6 cores and 12 threads doesn't do anything if you only have 6 cores and 12 threads. If you have 8 cores and 16 threads it knows how to use those. It's a placebo effect. It's not harmful if you have a straight shooter 1c/2t x whatever CPU, like most AMD CPU's and any Intel CPU from 11th gen and earlier. What it will do however, is block any CPU cores/threads that are on the CPU that are after the number you list. This is a problem if for whatever reason, you tell it to only use 6c/12t on a 8c/16t CPU. More significantly, using 8/8/16 like the redditors & youtubers tell you to use, because you "only have 8 P-Cores", is a massive problem for 12th Gen, 13th Gen, 14th Gen and Core Ultra Intel CPUs. BF6 knows how to use E-Cores. It works them perfectly well. I have a 14900k & 5080. The settings aren't that important except to know I keep them the same. When you tell the game to use "8 processors and 16 threads" (or 6/12 for a 14600k or similar) you're telling it to not use any of the E-Cores. Sure, you might get "reduced CPU usage", but it's doing it by not using the processor, and killing your FPS. The P-Cores don't increase their workload (or don't increase enough) to make up for the lack of E-Cores. I did a benchmark, using a special benchmark map in Portal (it's called "Bench De Mark" if you want to find it, then stand on the tyre on the right of the map as you spawn in, and let the bots shoot and throw nades and blow up cars, it's not a perfect situation but it's as good as we get now). 2 minutes captured with CapFrameX for statistics. Without user.cfg I get: Average FPS - 150.8 1% Low - 109.3 0.1% Low - 96.9 Then using the 8/8/16 user.cfg: Average FPS - 146.4 (4.4 worse) 1% Low - 87.7 (21.6 worse) 0.1% Low - 77.6 (19.3 worse) As you can see, this is massively inferior. During the user.cfg 8/8/16 run it completely stopped the e-cores getting any load on them from the game. If you weren't looking closely into it (eg, an Afterburner overlay only) you might think it's good, because you have similar FPS, and significantly reduced CPU usage. Except you don't realise that it kills your 1% and 0.1% lows, which will cause dip and stuttering. And I also did a test where I set the user.cfg to match the 14900k fully. So 24/24/32. Average FPS - 153.5 1% Low - 104 0.1% Low - 84.8 It's very similar to the "without user.cfg" run. Some small differences that I think are just the nature of using this test map with lots of bots and grenades etc (in the 0.1% low mostly, so maybe a bunch of nades went off at the same time). If I did more and more runs they'd probably average out to be identical. The thread/processor user.cfg trick is a waste of time, or actively hurts your performance. Don't use it.SolvedMackTKau2 months agoSeasoned Ace9.4KViews8likes36CommentsHow to edit the profile in game on BF6 if I bought the game on steam?

Since purchasing Battlefield 6, I have been unable to host any Portal servers due to the recurring “Global game quota exceeded” message. This issue has been present since launch, preventing me from experiencing one of the game’s key features as advertised. Following the most recent update, the situation has not improved. I spent the entire day attempting to host a Portal session without success. Meanwhile, players who managed to access Portal have reported that XP rewards have been reduced, despite earlier assurances that full XP could be earned in this mode. As a player who prefers solo/co-op and PvE experiences rather than high-intensity PvP, I feel completely left out. Battlefield 2042 offered accessible options for players like myself, but Battlefield 6 currently does not. Please ensure that Portal mode can be properly accessed and played, or alternatively, provide an official solo/co-op option similar to that in Battlefield 2042. At present, Portal remains filled with XP farming activity, and simply reducing XP gain has done nothing to stop it. In fact, such measures only encourage those players to spend even more time farming, while depriving others of the opportunity to enjoy Portal as intended. Thank you for your time and understanding.garden89522 months agoNew Traveler8.9KViews27likes13CommentsControversial Topic, but... Female Soldiers.
I'd like to start by saying I hope we can all be adults here while going through this topic. Two ideas can exist simultaneously, and those for me are that I have respect for women who serve or want to serve in frontline combat roles while at the same time I don't think they should. I believe that the capacity for violence and the burden put on those who commit it should be relegated to men. The ability to make war is a terrible yet necessary thing and when it comes down to it, men are simply more naturally inclined to be better at it and have a greater desire to do it. The entire basis of human nature is structured on men doing whatever is necessary to protect women and children. I obviously know that there are some who disagree with me here, but I also know that there are many who agree. There is also absolutely nothing misogynistic or sexist about these views, and it's okay to say that. People who hold this opinion don't believe any silly nonsense like "women are inferior" or anything like that, we simply believe that men and women are different and that's okay. So, why do I say all of this and why am I bringing up a topic that I know is going to be so controversial? I do it because I would like to ask Dice and EA to give us the ability to toggle female soldiers. I'm sorry if this offends some, but I'm sure some agree with me; I just don't want to play a war game with women in it. I don't want to hear women shouting as they're dying, I don't want to be firing at women, I just don't like it. I know there are women in combat roles in the modern age (though they are very few and far between), but it also still breaks the immersive experience to me. The most obviously egregious example of this was Battlefield V, and we all know how that controversy went. I hope that the world is in a more mature place to discuss something like this now and I feel like a toggle that gives everybody the option to play how they want isn't asking for too much. I'd also like to make it clear that I don't feel the same way about women in the military in general. I believe they definitely can excel in plenty of other roles such as in aviation, communication, command; it's just the frontline combat roles, which is what Battlefield is all about. And for my female gamers out there who enjoy these games, I think that's great and I want you to feel like you belong. These opinions have no relation to the idea of female gamers. Battlefield is a communal experience but at the same time is an individual experience for each of us who play. I know that after the madness of the last decade or so it's difficult to speak up on topics like this but I hope those who feel the same way aren't afraid to anymore. I know some would be offended and that we would get all of the articles from the "big" gaming outlets that no one cares about anymore but I hold out hope that with Dice and EA doing so much right on this game that maybe they'll have the guts to ignore the loud minority on something like this. I have full confidence that in the moment we're in a decision like this would not impact sales of a game that is shaping up to be so good. Even implementation after launch would be great. I hope that this is allowed to be posted here and that EA doesn't flag it as inappropriate or anything like that. For anyone who reads or engages with it, I appreciate your time.DomiPastrami4 months agoSeasoned Rookie8.7KViews180likes550CommentsPortal Custom map with vehicles
