[UPDATE] Battlefield 6 Update: On Secure Boot & Cheats
Hey folks, AC from the SPEAR Anti-Cheat Team here, hope everyone's having fun in the Battlefield 6 Open Beta! I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge some of the feedback around cheating in the game, especially around Secure Boot. On Secure Boot, I want to be clear that Secure Boot is not, and was not intended to be a silver bullet. Secure Boot is how you're helping us build up our arsenal. It’s another barrier that helps us make it harder for cheat developers to create cheat programs, and makes it easier for us to detect it when they do. There are certain signals that we can only trust when Secure Boot is enabled, which we spoke of before in our previous posts, like here https://steamcommunity.com/app/2807960/discussions/0/600785827026563959/. One example, Secure Boot prevents your machine from running with vulnerable drivers enabled. So if Secure Boot is running and we see those drivers loaded, we know something's a bit off. I also wanted to thank you all for taking the time to report cheaters, cheat programs and specific clips to us. Your reports help us zero in and lead us to finding up and coming cheat communities, reporting one actual cheater often can lead to new detection techniques and help us keep them from impacting your experience. Since Open Beta Early Access’s launch: Javelin has prevented 330,000 attempts to cheat or tamper with anti-cheat controls. You’ve reported 44,000 instances of potential cheaters during day one and another 60,000 so far today. We are already using these with our own Gameplay Integrity team to add and improve our detections for Battlefield 6. They are also working with the Battlefield Positive Play team, to actively remove those reported we confirm to be cheaters. Anti-Cheat isn't one and done, it's an ever evolving battlefield, and what has worked for us previously or in different games doesn't always work in all of them. I hope this helps, and please keep the reports coming in - we'll continue cleaning up the cheaters so you can have a fair game. We’re looking forward to the Open Beta tomorrow, and if you need to, the best way to help combat cheaters in Battlefield 6 is by reporting them via their profiles on the score screen. See you on the Battlefield! - ACAntiCheatWard2 months agoEA Anticheat Team32KViews63likes234CommentsEA/Dice, please don’t CoD this game - Listed Fixes/Nerfs/imps. is must!
(**Changes 19/08/2025) — Promote subject guys for better and more enjoyable gameplay in the future💙 **First I wanna say the game is little bit dissapointed and I explain why, the Game feels like cod we would like the game to feel more like Battlefield. **(I allready see people jump shot, drop shot, bunny hopping, and slide shotting every corner with accuracy of 99/100% hit just like in cod with sweaty players, its soo anooying!) Nerf — The Jump slide, the slide is too far. Nerf — The overall of the slide needs a very tiny touch, but not like Battlefield v. Nerf — The drop shot, make the prone more animated and not fast like cod. Nerf — The accuracy of the gun when sliding>ads so it won't be accurate just like in CoD. Nerf — The accuracy of the gun when jumping>ads so it won't be accurate just like in CoD. Nerf — The overall of the movment speed with the smg's/pistols when ads is a little bit fast. Nerf — The Auto spoting detect enemies from far away, and it need to set to close/medium range like in bf4. Nerf — Remove The glint of the sniper scope is too strong, or turn it down a lot and to show the glint only for 1 second when someone pointing the scope on you. **Fix — Remove the emoji wheel from spotting enemies and keybind it to something different, the emoji wheel showing all the time, and brought up too fast. **Fix — Remove the ping sign marks when trying to spotting enemies the ping sign marks cover and hide the enemies, instead of spoting clearly enemies. **Fix — The position of the smg's when running is not centered on screen. **Fix — The game needs to be optimized cause the Gameplay performance is very bad the game is on very low and its stutering and thers very low fps even on rtx4070ti. (high spec pc etc..) **Fix — Time to die is too fast, It feels like if you don’t have 1 millisecond response time or if anyone sees you first you’re dead. No chance of killing the person already shooting at you. **Fix — The bunny hoppin in this game specialy after slide momentum, seriously what the hell is going on it meant to be battlefield not CoD. **Fix — The wrong hand placment on some foregrips. (added pictures down below to shown) **Fix — Mini map is too tiny even on 100% size. **Fix — Remove the 100-point attachment limit for weapons. Instead, allow players to equip as many attachments as they want, but make each one come with stronger pros and cons. This way, customization can be more creative without breaking balance Now here is why so many call it CoD and not battlefield.👇🏻 https://youtube.com/shorts/HnMw0emtrsk?si=VsV27pRXS21MKfeQl_D3ABLO_l3 months agoRising Adventurer12KViews45likes65CommentsStill a three friend party limit for BF6?
Reading BF2042 forums and the like it looks like the limitation of three friends (a four person party) is still there years later, even though they said it was a limitation they'd look into overcoming and something that was expressed as a desire recently when the community was asked about what they wanted from a server browser... To be specific, since EA Connect party limit is 4 players and the 'server browser' is only for Portal, you cannot play on the main Battlefield servers with the wider Battlefield community with more than three friends. Any more than three and they cannot join your party, so they will no doubt be sent to a different server. The only way to all get on the same one would be using a server browser, but since EA are saying they think Portal 'solves' this, you can only play on community created servers. So... Portal does not address this at all. I can only imagine they want their match-making systems to not have to cope multiple squads existing on the same servers? It can't be a technical limitation that they haven't been able to address since the release of BF2042, so what is it?disposalist2 months agoNew Hotshot11KViews27likes12CommentsDisappointed by Battlefield 6’s Lack of Linux Support
To whom it may concern, I was genuinely excited about Battlefield 6. The trailers, the gameplay previews—all of it looked amazing. But that excitement was instantly deflated when I realized there’s no support for Linux at all! I’m running Ubuntu LTS and have absolutely no interest in switching back to Windows just to play EA games. It’s frustrating, to say the least, that in 2025 we’re still dealing with such narrow platform support. Linux users are no longer a fringe group—we’re passionate, loyal, and growing. Ignoring us feels like a slap in the face. I won’t be buying Battlefield 6 unless Linux support is taken seriously. Simple as that. Please rethink this decision—not just for me, but for the entire Linux community. Can you consider having the option for players to move the Minimap Location to the top Left, Top Right, Bottom Right etc.... Having it in the bottom left just feels weird to me. I'd like to know if the requirements shown in the photo are ALL mandatory in the new BF6, since, for example, in BF2042, only Secure Boot was required?! It feels like Battlefield has become primarily a Console game first, and a PC game second. Frankly, the amount of assist players get is insulting to PC players. I was going to try to start this discussion from a more neutral stand point, but let's be honest, it ALWAYS devolves very quickly, "Mouse users can use their entire arm to aim!". I kept trying to re-write this in a careful manner, but there's no middle ground on this issue. I've literally never heard a controller player admit anything is over-tuned. With that said... The real solution is that Crossplay should NOT be enabled by default. Why? Console and PC versions of the game could then be tuned independently of each other. I often look at Steam charts looking for new games, and there's quite a few FPS games towards the top, with Counter-Strike always being in the #1 spot by a wide margin. Why isn't Battlefield up there in the top 10 at least? The formula for what makes Battlefield work has already been figured out ages ago, that's the hardest part. What I'm saying is that Dice needs to focus more on PC, what made BF great in the past, and there definitely is a market for it. If Crossplay is enabled by default, then the assist needs to be readjusted for both platforms for this next installment of Battlefield, especially if movement is going to be slowed down a bit. Right now Controller players get: 25% recoil reduction Snap to Target (2042 implementation is x4 times the distance of the previous title) Rotational assist Slow Down over Target Two things that need to be re-tuned are 25% reduction in recoil and Snap to Target. These both shouldn't exist to begin with, but if I'm being generous, then Snap to Target should be reverted back to what it was in previous titles, and the Recoil Reduction should be completely removed. Slight Tangent/Critique of Dice There's so many things I want to critique about 2042, but honestly, I'm getting to the point I have ZERO confidence in Dice these days. Even with the simple task of getting community feedback with Labs, what a joke. Only certain small groups of people have been invited, and with NDA's. How is that an open discussion? How is Labs anything different than what you did before besides giving Alpha testing a different name? Battlefield should be locked into one of the top 10 spots on Steam Charts at all times, doing less than that is failing at a time tested formula. I don't know, maybe the Console sector is just that lucrative, and it's worth it to cater to them. However, as a PC player, I'm tired of being insulted by every game having this LAZY attempt at balancing inputs by giving just ONE of them assist. I will not be buying the next Battlefield if this is the case.RaginSam5 months agoSeasoned Ace4.9KViews23likes57CommentsOpen vs locked weapons per class
Traditionally Battlefield has always been about classes, and with that came class locked weapons. This how it was and how it should be! One of the big mistakes they made with BF2042 was to first introduce specialists, and next they gave these specialists access to ALL weapons. Later on they partially fixed the issue by implementing back the class system, however weapons remained open. With the open beta we have a chance to make our voices being heard! As I'm sure they will be monitoring traffic towards what people want to play, let's make our actions speak louder than our words by all ignoring the Conquest mode and pick Closed Weapon Conquest instead. And from there I hope the message will be clear to the developers that we need closed weapons in ALL game modes!Solved4.9KViews21likes83CommentsAbout bots and an offline mode - BF6
I understand that AI Bots is a very avoidable mechanism in Multplayer server; despite serving as either filling for a server or simply be a fodder for XP, AI bots are mostly disliked by players. But what about an offline mode? Or simply a private server where you alone can play with bots of all sorts of modes? AI benefitted those who desire to play alone and immerse themselves without getting destroyed by skilled players. Battlefront 2 (2017) introduced instant action in one of their updates where you could play multiplayer maps with offline bots in it. Players like me would love to see a offline mode by competing against bots on Multplayer maps. Are there any info of AI bots returning similar as they added in BF2042?Max20151262 months agoSeasoned Newcomer4.7KViews23likes31Comments[Suggestion] A solution for groups who want to play with more than 4 players...
I have an easy solution for groups that have more than 4 players and want to all play together. Please add a third UI color that represents online friends from your friends list. For example: Teammates: Blue Squadmates: Green Online Friends: Cyan/Purple/WhateverColorYouWant Just make it so we can at least see our friends easier than the average teammates. You don't have to change the party size and it still let's you play matches when you have more than 4 people trying to play the same match.Corwin52592 months agoSeasoned Novice4.7KViews16likes4CommentsHardcore mode for veterans and those who prefer simulation
Hi DICE / EA team, I’ve been a Battlefield player since Bad Company 2 and I deeply value the tactical, immersive experience the franchise has always offered. Hardcore mode—with reduced HUD, one-shot kills, friendly fire, no minimap—was an iconic part of Battlefield’s identity. It’s disappointing that in Battlefield 6 Hardcore is only available through Portal, requiring custom servers and manual setup. Many long-time fans (including myself) just want to queue into a standard Hardcore playlist via matchmaking, like in BF3 and BF4. A simple option at the start of matchmaking—"Standard" vs "Hardcore"—would let new players join the normal mode, while veterans could select what they know and love. This choice doesn’t harm anyone and addresses both audiences fairly. Portal cannot replace matchmaking: lack XP progression, and aren’t easily discoverable. Access to Hardcore via matchmaking would revitalize competitive play and honor Battlefield’s legacy. Please consider adding an official Hardcore playlist to standard matchmaking. Many fans have voiced similar concerns and would greatly appreciate such a feature. Thank you for listening.spectro9753 months agoSeasoned Rookie4.2KViews130likes66Comments[INFO] Secure Boot Information for Battlefield 6
As part of our ongoing commitment to Positive Play in Battlefield, Secure Boot is a requirement to play Battlefield 6 on PC. This supports the need for enhanced security while playing and utilizing new anti-cheat features in Battlefield. As cheat developers continue to evolve their tactics, we're stepping up our game too. Requiring Secure Boot provides us with features that we can leverage against cheats that attempt to infiltrate during the Windows boot process. It also lets the Battlefield Positive Play team use its own features and related dependent security features like TPM to combat other forms of cheating, the most relevant of which include: Kernel-Level Cheats and Rootkits Memory Manipulation and Injection Spoofing and Hardware ID Manipulation Virtual Machines and Emulation Tampering with Anti-Cheat Systems Any attempt to access Battlefield 6 without Secure Boot enabled will result in a prompt indicating its necessity. Secure Boot is available for Windows 11 and Windows 10 devices. For more information on enabling this feature, refer to this EA Help article. https://help.ea.com/en/help/pc/secure-boot/ In addition to utilizing Secure Boot to help us, our Anticheat system, EA Javelin Anticheat, is customizable and offers a unique and modified approach for Battlefield and other EA FPS games. Javelin has been built from the ground up by a team of veteran engineers and analysts who were specifically hired to focus on cheating problems for each game under EA’s umbrella and design unique features to address those issues. They work alongside our Battlefield Positive Play team to refine the data, insight, and tools necessary to ensure equitable play for all our players across our Battlefield Studios titles. Female Soldiers.
I'd like to start by saying I hope we can all be adults here while going through this topic. Two ideas can exist simultaneously, and those for me are that I have respect for women who serve or want to serve in frontline combat roles while at the same time I don't think they should. I believe that the capacity for violence and the burden put on those who commit it should be relegated to men. The ability to make war is a terrible yet necessary thing and when it comes down to it, men are simply more naturally inclined to be better at it and have a greater desire to do it. The entire basis of human nature is structured on men doing whatever is necessary to protect women and children. I obviously know that there are some who disagree with me here, but I also know that there are many who agree. There is also absolutely nothing misogynistic or sexist about these views, and it's okay to say that. People who hold this opinion don't believe any silly nonsense like "women are inferior" or anything like that, we simply believe that men and women are different and that's okay. So, why do I say all of this and why am I bringing up a topic that I know is going to be so controversial? I do it because I would like to ask Dice and EA to give us the ability to toggle female soldiers. I'm sorry if this offends some, but I'm sure some agree with me; I just don't want to play a war game with women in it. I don't want to hear women shouting as they're dying, I don't want to be firing at women, I just don't like it. I know there are women in combat roles in the modern age (though they are very few and far between), but it also still breaks the immersive experience to me. The most obviously egregious example of this was Battlefield V, and we all know how that controversy went. I hope that the world is in a more mature place to discuss something like this now and I feel like a toggle that gives everybody the option to play how they want isn't asking for too much. I'd also like to make it clear that I don't feel the same way about women in the military in general. I believe they definitely can excel in plenty of other roles such as in aviation, communication, command; it's just the frontline combat roles, which is what Battlefield is all about. And for my female gamers out there who enjoy these games, I think that's great and I want you to feel like you belong. These opinions have no relation to the idea of female gamers. Battlefield is a communal experience but at the same time is an individual experience for each of us who play. I know that after the madness of the last decade or so it's difficult to speak up on topics like this but I hope those who feel the same way aren't afraid to anymore. I know some would be offended and that we would get all of the articles from the "big" gaming outlets that no one cares about anymore but I hold out hope that with Dice and EA doing so much right on this game that maybe they'll have the guts to ignore the loud minority on something like this. I have full confidence that in the moment we're in a decision like this would not impact sales of a game that is shaping up to be so good. Even implementation after launch would be great. I hope that this is allowed to be posted here and that EA doesn't flag it as inappropriate or anything like that. For anyone who reads or engages with it, I appreciate your time.DomiPastrami2 months agoSeasoned Rookie3.7KViews78likes318CommentsMouse and Keyboard Jet Controls (a must)
I play on PC and never fly jets because I am sick of having to pickup the mouse and put it down in a dragging like motion to keep changing pitch. Other games have already found a good way around this, please implement controls like Starfield or Battlefront when flying Jets. This is the best flight with mouse I have seen. It allows you to move your mouse in one direction and leave it there, allowing the ships to continue turning until you move your mouse back to center or another area. Please! Also you better have proximity chat, or team work will be scarce. Thanks.BaconBeast2 months agoNew Rookie3.6KViews8likes1CommentBF 6 is a nice looking game but.... boring!
Each time a new BF comes out I get excited for the chance to relive the fun I had with older version only to come to the realization that the game modes and gameplay design is just played out. It's 2025 we shouldn't be going into any battle with less than 210 rounds. Why am I waiting on someone else to supply me with ammo or heal? When the classifications first came about and added realism it was cool but with gameplay speed increasing each year it becomes a crutch to the overall feeling of joy the game gives. I become frustrated when I am on a high kill run and absolutely cannot find ammo. Or I go down and watch 10 players run past me even though I have healed anyone I can reach. It sucks but until BF listens to the community it will always be the same, great first turnout and then pretty much, dead by summer. Players want to run and gun and self heal and not worry about ammo. It's the been the standard for a while now, you can't force players to redefine the way they play to fit your games locked in design. Adapt to the modern meta or die. It's that simple. Yes! COD has ruined their own game trying to be too innovative with their store and childish skins but there is a reason they have millions of active users year after year even when the game design sucks and cheating is at an all-time high. Here's my two cents below. -Self revive -Ammo supply crates throughout the map at each flag and base. -Consistent enemy footstep audio -New modesstalker4hire-2 months agoRising Novice3.3KViews2likes13CommentsIs there a way to see the dog tags you earn yet?
While I was reviving a bunch of people I saw a dog tag appear at the top of my screen, but didn't have time to read it due to the hectic events. Was wondering if there was a way to view them.c33ldamag32 months agoSeasoned Newcomer2.9KViews4likes5Comments
