I have just about given up.
I finally after MONTHS got a new gaming laptop which allowed me to play this new game which I fell in love with for about 100 hours. NOW it has started crashing at start up and I cannot for the life of me figure out why, I have… updated bios cleared shaders folder reinstalled the entire game twice decreased graphics settings when I did get in to medium only using about 60% of VRAM verified file integrity about 30k times Whats really weird is sometimes it does work, I can get it through and play fine with no crashes or issues. However that isn’t common and at this point I don’t know what to do cause I love this game and am literally on part 12 and want to desperately finish it, but I don’t think I’ll be able to. Computer Specs if needed: nvidia geforce RTX 5060 intel core ultra 7 255H intel(r) arc(tm) 140T gpu (16gb)
Academic Interest Bugged
Hi, I was exploring the area I currently have all of the npc party members I could have. I did all the red crystals and then decided to do all the remaining puzzles in the area before going and fighting whatever demon that was speaking to me. And now there's a blue barrier up but Neve nor any of my other characters can unlock it. I've looked at others gameplay and there's supposed to be a spot above the door to unlock it. And it's missing. Any advice?
Path Of Sighs - Collecting Bones
I have tried to complete this 1 part to get all the chests and I cannot interact with the coffin once I have collected all the bones. I have video to prove this but it won't let me place the bones once I have collected them all. I have gone back to the main menu, and restarted and closed the game and continued, And also uninstall the game and reinstall the game All 3 options won't allow me to complete this particular puzzle. When I started the game back up I was suddenly headless and then when I tried to fix it, like fast traveling my saved character became someone else, like I went from an elf to a quanari. It was in dock town and I saved at the spillway last night, I was doing the demon quest that's over there. I was lucky enough to just have to go back to a different auto save. I play on Xbox.INVALID_POINTER_WRITE Error
Hi, I'm trying to play this MASTERPIECE for like 1 week and I don't know what else to do. Whenever I want to start the game it crashes randomly. After starting it whenever I see the menu or start moving in game my game crashes without any error. I've opened the mdmp file with WindowsDebugger and have seen the INVALID_POINTER_WRITE error. I was getting this error before formatting the pc and after format it still happens. I've verified the files, removed shader caches, lowered the resolution, lowered the graphics. It's still the same. What really should I do to play this game? It shouldn't be this hard. I've played so many games that requires more hardware then Veilguard and didn't get any error like this. This is an example I get on WindowsDebugger of your mdmp file.
Bug - Quiver Appearance Not Changed When Applying a Bow Appearance via Wardrobe
Greetings The intent of this post is to bring to attention a rather jarring visual bug present in the game. Others have posted regarding this. I have attached links to their posts. Quiver appearance | EA Forums - 5022933 Quiver Appearance | EA Forums - 5024671 The visual appearance of arrow quivers does not change when applying a bow appearance via the wardrobe feature, often resulting in mis-matched armaments, e.g. an elven looking bow with an Antivan looking quiver. Due to this bug, quivers that belong to bows that only exist as appearances are never seen in game. The only cases where quiver appearances are correctly applied via the wardrobe and match their respective bow, are when using the "Bow of the Fallen Kingdom" from the Deluxe Edition, and the promotional "Watchful Bow". I hope this bug can be addressed. Cheers.
Game suddenly not playable
Hello forum, this is actually for my sig-other who plays Dragon Age, plus all the iterations, but is experiencing difficulty - ONLY with Veilguard! this is for a PC: AMD Ryzen 7 5700G @ 3,8GHz + AMD RX 6650XT with 8GB GDDR6 + 32GB DDR4 RAM + onboard Realtek ALC887 sound + onboard Realtek GbE RJ-45 network + MS windows 11 - updates all current + EA Games app - updates all current + AMD Adrenalin - updates all current (v25.6.1) set at 'default' video properties..... She started playing Veilguard in November of last year and seemed very happy with it. From what I saw, game performance was fast enough to be impressive, though she did say she had turned off some gameplay details. the issue is that about five or six weeks ago, immediately after something updated (?), the game became unplayable. Loading at start went from a minute or two to an unreasonable time... 30 minutes? an hour? she didn't say. and game play went from impressive to jittery... frame-by-frame-by-frame. As far as I know, it does not actually crash, and all the other Dragon Age games are playable as before. I have tried uninstalling the video driver and reinstalling it clean. (used Display Driver Uninstaller in safe mode to be sure all old files had been removed). she also tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling. also same for the EA app, and clearing the cache. EA App not recognising content
I pre ordered the deluxe edition of dragon age veil guard and downloaded the weapons offer. When playing the game it is all locked as if it doesn’t appear to be registering the content. I have recently been gifted the deluxe edition on Steam and all of the content is unlocked and able to be used in the game therefore the issue must be an EA App issue rather than a game/ user issue. This has been going on for 8 months with no resolution, please can it be resolved so the content I paid for can be used.[PS5] Missing Save Data
Just loaded up my game and saw that several save files were missing, and my main save file regressed to a previous date. I was at level 47 and just finished my second-to-last “Hero of the Veilguard” mission. Now, my latest save file is for level 42 from four days ago and I only have only one “Hero of the Veilguard” complete in that file. That’s two or three story missions and five or so completed character side-arcs that have just vanished into thin air. Frankly, with the way this stuff works, I have zero hope or expectation of retrieving my files. I don’t know if I have the energy to push through all that again. It was a lot of progress. I’m seeing posts about similar issues from several months ago. Have there been any updates on this error/bug?Gameplay-Breaking Bug
There is a combat-breaking bug involving the lock-on mechanic that affects a number of popular abilities such as ice blast, rain of decay, meteor, corrupting ground and others (Seems to be linked to AOE abilities). If you use the lock-on mechanic on a target, switch to a new target, and then use one of the abilities previously mentioned, then instead of attacking your current target that you are locked onto, you will use the ability on the last target you switched from instead of your current target. Sometimes if your previous target has already died, then you will end up using your ability on the location where they died, but no current enemy is located, wasting mana and your cooldown. It has a great negative impact on combat and I wanted to know if it was possible for this to be patched?

Usually I would just deal with situations like this, but veilguard is my favourite game, and with this being my first ever full playthrough, it’s kinda frustrating me! Basic rundown, my Rook/character was an antivian crow rogue for 41 levels! Got to the mission ‘When plans align’ that leads to the end of the main story as most will know. On hour 34 (yes I’m slow with gameplay but I was doing a more focused playthrough instead of rushing). Then I went to play today and he’s a mage! Which sure is cool and maybe I wouldn’t mind! But I’ve lost all my equipment! Like all of it. All the stuff is the starting gear at the very beginning! And In the level 43 slot he has 12 skills and only 2 extra points! I just want to know what’s happened and if I can fix it without having to replay the 4 hours I did where I went over a bunch of side missions! This is and still will be one of my favourite games ever but it’s made me really stop enjoying it as of right now! please help T-T
no voices, all other audio fine
All my audio was fine the first 2 days playing, but after launching a 3rd time all voice audio has stopped out of nowhere. Background music & grunts when jumping come through clear, but none of the characters speak anymore and their mouths don't move. I only get the captions. Others have mentioned "crackly" voice audio but I'm not even getting that, I'D TAKE THAT AT THIS POINT. I've tried restarting my pc, running a clean install of DAV, changing fps, vsynch, GPU affinity, going into my computer's audio settings in the control panel (there is no option for "5.1" to turn off), nothing works. I'm running the game on an MSI Aegis R 13NUD-461US pcLoading times extremely increased
Since EA-Cient-Update yesterday the game needed exactly 15 min 45 sec to start. (Used a stopwatch, really 😂) When playing last time (Feb. 2025) I didn't have any trouble regarding the loading times. The game needed approx. 1-2 min to start. So - has anybody any idea, what's going on here?Game No Longer Runs
Hi all! I have almost 200 hours in this game - I played it obsessively at launch with very few issues. I have a a 3060 Ti graphics card, a 5930K CPU, and 64GB of ram. My PC runs titles like BG3 without issue on Ultra graphics. Over the last two weeks, every time I have tried to boot Veilguard it completely crashes my system when on the Shaders Compilation screen at launch. It'll sometimes get to 100% but immediately crashes - my peripherals die, and the only thing still going is my fans. All of my drivers are up to date. I tried doing a fresh install of the game, and that did not help. Really frustrated because I want to pick it up again after a few months away. Any help would be appreciated!
