The Disney Princess 10 Gen Challenge!
WELCOME TO: THE DISNEY PRINCESS 10 GEN CHALLENGE! SIMS 3: http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/760184/the-disney-princess-challenge-10-generation-legacy MY CHALLENGE: http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/809222/my-disney-legacy-challenge-11-jan?new=1 INFO: This challenge is based on the Disney Princess franchise and movies. Storytellers can follow the original stories or you can just roll with it. Some areas of this challenge ask for gender-specific heir/heiresses, this can be easily changed out if you're playing patriarchy or matriarchy. This challenge follows the original rules of the 10 Generation Legacy - although some rules may vary. If you own a particular expansion pack, then feel free to incorporate this however you would like, ideas will be provided as well with . Generation 1: Snow White "I'm wishing for the one I love to find me today" Founders have humble beginnings, so what's better than Snow White? To start, create Snow White. Storytellers may create her as a teenager and make her evil stepmother, but this is not a requirement. When Snow White becomes a young adult, this story begins. - Must be female - Must have 7 children (dwarfs) - Each child must have one negative trait (e.g Gloomy, Glutton) - Each child must have the same baby daddy - Each child must achieve something before their teenage years - this can be reaching level 5 in a toddler skill, reaching level 3 in all toddler skills, completing their childhood aspiration, or becoming an A grade student in school - Snow may never answer the door to strangers or talk to elderly women : Parenthood - each child must age up with at least one positive character trait. This number can be increased if you're looking for more of a challenge. Generation 2: Cinderella "A dream is a wish your heart makes when you're fast asleep" Although you had six brothers and sisters, you always did the cooking and cleaning. Yet, somehow you loved it, as it transported you away from your chaotic home life. When Cinderella becomes a teenager, this story begins. - Must have 'Neat' and 'Foodie' traits - Must clean the house every day and cook every meal - May not marry until her mother dies (This does not have to be of old age, but it may not be cheated) - Have a maximum of 3 children Generation 3: Tiana "The only way to get what you want in this world is through hard work" Your family has barely accomplished anything over the past two generations, and you're here to change that. This story begins when Tiana becomes a YA. - Must have 'Ambitious' trait - Father must die before the end of YA - Must have food Aspiration - Must marry a Sim with green (This can be hair, eyes, skin etc) : Dine Out - Tiana must own and run her own restaurant Generation 4: Aurora "I walked with you once upon a dream" Thanks to your mother's hard work, you have everything you always wanted in life, apart from love. Your father was overprotective of you, and rarely let you out of the house. This story begins when Aurora becomes a YA. - Must have the 'Lazy' trait. - May only have 3 or fewer friends. (Family can count if you wish) - Must meet future spouse at night while parents are asleep - Elope (you can run away if you wish) - Have a maximum of 2 children - (twin girls are preferred if playing Anna or Elsa next) Generation 5: Anna "We only have each other, it's just you and me" Your sister locked you away and you never knew why. As toddlers, you were the best of friends but now all you have are dreams. When Anna is a child, this story begins. - Lose all contact with your sister until YA - Find love with a criminal - Experience near death at the hands of your lover - Find someone new after becoming BFFs with your sister - Marry, have one child Generation 6: Rapunzel "You were wrong about the world, and you were wrong about me" Your mother never trusted you or the outside world. You never knew of her past, and never wanted to. All you ever got was solitude, but that didn't matter. When Rapunzel is a teenager this story begins - Must have 'Loner' and 'Art Lover' traits - Must reach at least level 8 painting before YA - May only ever leave the house for school - May never have friends until the wedding - Elope - you have no friends anyway, have kids : Parenthood - Rapunzel's parents are strict, but otherwise she tends to be estranged from her family and will sneak out past curfew Generation 7: Belle "People think I'm odd, so I know how it feels to be different" You always loved books and visited the library often. You never cared for looks, just beauty within. Everyone wanted you, but you turned them all down. You wanted to choose your own destiny. When Belle becomes a YA, this story begins. - Must have 'Bookworm' trait - Date at least 5 men - Meet the man of your dreams - an ugly Sim - Marry, have kids - Your spouse becomes beautiful (Changed in CAS) after the firstborn child : Get to Work - Belle's spouse is different as they are an alien. Generation 8: Mulan "Could it be, that if I were truly to be myself, I would break my family's heart" Your parents always wanted you to bring fortune back to the family and marry someone of high status, but you didn't dream of love, you dreamed of glory. When Mulan becomes a YA this story begins - Must have 'Active' trait - Must join Astronaut career - Fall in love with a co-worker once you reach the top of the career choice - Marry, have kids : Get Famous - Mulan's glory comes in the form of fame, and she quickly rises to fame through her achievements Generation 9: Jasmine "A whole new world, a hundred thousand things to see" You hated being rich and living like a princess. You find comfort in Raja, but nowhere else. All your father wants is for you to marry rich, but you want a life without riches. When Jasmine becomes a teenager this story begins. - Have a best friend (Raja) - You cannot leave the house unless it is for school - Must marry a poor street rat - Her lover must be in the criminal career - Have a maximum of 4 children : Cats and Dogs - Raja must be a pet and reach companions while children Generation 10: Merida "If you had the chance to change your fate, would you?" You always wondered why your mother gave up her riches for a poor boy. Your adventures lead you into trouble, and you were nearly always grounded. When Merida becomes a teenager this story begins. - Have the 'Self Assured' trait - Lose your siblings and mother in an unfortunate accident - Seek out a way to change the past but fail - You do not believe in love - never marry - You believe you are cursed - never have children - Grow up alone and regretful (These last three conditions are only in place because it is the last generation. If you wish to continue afterwards then Merida may marry and have kids) OPTIONAL GENERATIONS: Generation: Ariel "Someday I'll be part of your world" You've always loved the water and dreamed of becoming a mermaid. Sadly, this never came true but you did find the man of your dreams, and that was good enough. When Ariel becomes a teenager this story begins. - Must have a 'Loves the Outdoors' trait - Must own a pool and swim in it every day - Must marry a beautiful Sim with at least one trait the same as your own - Have kids Island Living - Ariel is a mermaid, adjust the above rules to fit the EP. Generation: Pocahontas "You think I'm an ignorant savage, you've been so many places, I guess it must be so." You come from different worlds, yet the love of your life is forbidden by your family. When Pocahontas becomes a teenager this story begins. -Fall in love with a "different" kind of Sim, (e.g a green or blue Sim) -Marry that "different" kind of Sim. -Run away and elope -Have a maximum of 4 kids Vampires - Pocahontas' different lover could be a Vampire Generation: Elsa "Yes I'm alone, but I'm alone and free" Your parents always questioned where your powers came from. You were a quiet type after... the accident. All you wanted was to be alone, unable to harm anyone. When Elsa becomes a teenager, this story begins. - Must have the 'Loner' trait - Must not talk to siblings until YA - Must be different in some way - Run away as a teenager (Storytellers may have her sister find her and bring her home) - Never marry and only have one child (it was an accident, you swear by it) Generation: Moana "One day I'll know, how far I'll go" You grew up as the heir to a legacy, born to rule over others; however, you want to explore and see the world. You know your choices make you who you are and you hope that one day they will show you the world. When Moana becomes a teenager, this story begins. - Must have the 'Loves the Outdoors' trait. - Must have 'Curator' aspiration - Must have a close relationship with her Grandmother (who dies before Moana becomes a YA) - Run away from home and meet Maui and become BBFs with him. - Marry and have children : Jungle Adventure - Moana must explore Selvadorada while running away from home Generation: Raya "The world's broken. You can't trust anyone." You grew up in a divided world, with conflict all around you. You have always believed in the magic of the world and in others until your trust was broken as a child. When Raya becomes a teenager, this story begins. - Must lose her father to an accident - Have a best friend (Tuk Tuk) - Explore the world as a young adult and make friends along the way - Make enemies with a rival but unite in the end (Namaari) restoring trust and friendship in the world - Marry and have children : Strangerville - Use the Strangerville story as a way of dividing the world following the gem breaking (If after any generation you wish to end the challenge, you may not have kids. It is entirely up to you. I go by the motto that it's your game, play how you want to play) ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Happy Simming!3MViews3likes3059CommentsThe Official The Sims 4 100 Baby Challenge [UPDATED ON DEC 29, 2018]
<3 <3 <3 The Official 100 Baby Challenge <3 <3 <3 Hello! You may be wondering where the heck the 100 Baby Challenge Rules went. The truth is, it got really difficult for me to keep up with updating the challenge here and on other fan sites I had it posted on, so I ended up falling behind on updating in a couple places (like here), which led to a lot of craziness and confusion. Fear not, though! I came up with a quick and easy solution. From now on, you can find the 100 Baby Challenge rules along with all the updates right here on my simblr: https://snarky-sims-witch.tumblr.com/post/181535303038/the-sims-4-100-baby-challenge Happy Simming! <3 :* <32.5MViews1like4368CommentsSIMS 4 CHALLENGE LIST (Updated May 24, 2021)
The purpose of this thread is to create a current list of all available challenges for The Sims 4. This includes Legacy and many other type challenges. There have been other threads in the past, but they haven't been updated in at least a year, so here's a new one that will be much more up to date. Please feel free to add any new challenges in the comments! Any thoughts on how you would like to see this list formatted are welcome. Thank you to @Nicarra60 for all the work you put into the original post. I have organized the challenges below by "types" of challenge. Links to find each type are here: Legacy Challenges Toddler Challenges (Under Legacies) Gameplay / Story Based Challenges Building Challenges Sim Creation/CAS Challenges Rotation / Multi-Household Play Challenges Selection / Contestant Challenges Pets / Animals Challenges Holiday / Special Event Challenges Exploration / Scavenger Hunt Challenges TV / Movie Fan Based Challenges HOW TO SUBMIT A CHALLENGE 1. To submit a challenge to be added to the list, please include the challenge name and a working link for full challenge rules. 2. Challenges submitted MUST have their own forum thread or blog/website post for rules. Any challenges posted with rules within this thread will NOT be added to the list. 3. Read below for tips on creating a new challenge. 4. Feel free to ask any questions you may have! Here are some excellent tips when creating a new challenge, written by @EuphorialQueen: When I am reading thru a new challenge suggestion I look for a few key items: What is the story behind the challenge? Tell me something to make me interested in reading more about the challenge. Is it based on another existing challenge? Is it a complete challenge with a beginning, middle and end? How do I start, how do I play and what is the ultimate goal or how do I 'win'? Do the rules or guidelines seem reasonable and can goals set by the challenge actually be achieved? Has the person posting the challenge play tested it? By posting a challenge on a blog or in the forums it is much easier to discuss and ask questions. When updating a challenge or change the guidelines just edit the thread where it is posted. Starting too many threads on the same challenge or subject only adds to confusion and leads to information being lost. These are only suggestions and offer a view of how I - as one person - review challenges. Thank you for your time. Edit: Use spell check and complete words to make reading your post more pleasant and easier to understand. Want to write stories about the challenges you play? https://i.imgur.com/qkXexiw.png https://i.imgur.com/3gHHX7s.png https://i.imgur.com/TvmoeFJ.png Welcome to Build-n-Share. #BNS 182 Jack Frost comes Knocking https://i.imgur.com/0SEfaKr.jpg The weather just took a turn for the worse as an unexpected snowfall has just begun. You have sent everyone from the office home since you only have one more client to interview. You want to make sure everyone gets home safely before it really gets bad on the streets. Since it is Friday, this means a slow weekend in front of the fireplace with a good book. You smile at the thought as you make more hot cocoa with marshmallows. The bell on the office door jingles gently as someone enters, and you turn around to greet your client. He is a very tall and thin man with hair so black it shines blue. His eyes are a dazzling blue, and his lips have a ruby glow, probably from the cold blowing winds outside. He never left a name, so you are curious about him as he carefully stomps the snow off his shoes on the mat before walking towards you. You walk towards him with a piping hot mug of cocoa and greet him warmly. He returns the smile and follows you into the inner office. Once you are both seated and sipping cocoa he begins to talk. "This cocoa sure hits the spot!" he exclaims merrily. "What a delightful welcome! My name is Jack Frost-well, I should say it is Jonathan, but I have been called Jack since birth. I run a bar in the next town. I should say I ran one. It was very popular for years, but a tornado wiped it out last summer. I was devastated for a while, and I just could not see myself rebuilding over there. So I finally decided to come over here and build a new business." He takes another slurp of cocoa and sighs in appreciation. "What kind of new business are you looking to start?" you ask patiently, happy he likes your cocoa. "Well, that is the thing," he admits wearily. "I don't really know. My family have had many businesses, in the past as well as today. I want to do something different. I have two real loves. Now don't laugh! Art and dogs!" He chuckles. You join in his laughing at two such separate loves then prompt him, "Have you decided which you want to pursue?" "Absolutely not!" he says cheekily. "That part I am leaving up to you! I have $197,500 to spend. Make me a kennel or an art gallery, whichever you like. I will get the necessary licenses once I have seen it. The only two requirements I have are a large office with a private bathroom for myself with loads of green in it and a large break room with entertainment as well as food warming and a fridge. Employees deserve the best, in my opinion!" "That is very generous!" you exclaim, awed by the thought. You know many people who think of employees last, so it is good to hear someone of a different cloth. You continue to question him until you see a real trend towards one of the businesses. The snow is already ankle deep when you both finally leave and part in the parking lot. Your mind is swirling with ideas as you drive cautiously home in the blinding snow. The brief: -make either an art gallery OR a kennel to board animals. -budget is $197,500, including the price of the lot. -include a parking lot; landscaping; public restrooms; a large break room with entertainment, a way to heat food, and a refrigerator. -include things applicable to the business (art for sale, kennels with part fencing for animals, etc). -include a large private office with its own ensuite and shades of green! -include an entrance area with some seating and a desk or cashier area. Note: For those without any pet expansions, you can build a basic kennel with children’s toys as squeaky toys, there is no need to include animals. CC is allowed as well. The Room Challenge: -budget $35,500. -create the break room with entertainment, a food warming device, and a fridge. The Sim Challenge: -create Jack Frost and give his talents, likes, dislikes, etc. -show all his clothing options. -show him looking over his new business! Welcome, and thank you for checking out https://i.imgur.com/BxWTgGk.png This is a highly dramatic, plot-driven legacy story that follows Alexander Rosebrook, the grandson of one of the characters in my now-complete SimLit story, Dust to Dust. Though reading Dust to Dust is not necessary to understand/enjoy this story, I will caution you that this story does contain SPOILERS for Dust to Dust. If you plan on checking out Dust to Dust, I strongly recommend that you read it before beginning this legacy. :) Please click the link at the top of this post to check out my story  Thank you so much for reading!811KViews1like12010CommentsThe Sims 4 Asylum Challenge
Hey guys, I have written the Asylum Challenge for The Sims 4! I took the challenge from The Sims 3 and re-wrote it to make sense in The Sims 4. I also added some difficulty modes to spice things up as well. If you think something should be changed, fixed etc. leave a comment in this thread or tweet me @NickM97 and I'll try and get back to you! I will update the thread when updates and expansions come out, so the challenge is still playable. If you experience any difficulties in the challenge, again let me know and I'll change things up a bit. :) Introduction Hi there, I’m Nick and this is The Sims 4 Asylum Challenge! The Asylum Challenge is one of my favourite challenges from The Sims 2 and The Sims 3, so I decided to bring it into The Sims 4 with its own little twists. This challenge was originally created by Scout for The Sims 2, then revamped for The Sims 3 by BlakeS5678. For those who do not know the Asylum Challenge, here is the backstory: "You have been committed to a run down mental health facility against your will. In order to prove that you are fit to rejoin society and earn your freedom, you must achieve the goals your psychiatrist has set for you – your aspiration. The catch? You need to achieve your goals as quickly as possible, while keeping 7 other patients, who you don't know and are out of your control, alive and as happy as possible. Add to that budget cutbacks leading to a lack of decent furniture and limited supplies, and your task gets harder." For this challenge there will be an easy mode, medium mode and hard mode, just to spice things up a bit. Setting Up Create your main sim in CAS. They must be a young adult. You can choose whatever you want for looks, clothing, voice and walk styles. They must have the insane trait and the other two traits can be anything except for custom traits. You can also choose any aspiration except for the following: -Successful Lineage -Big Happy Family -Super Parent -Fabulously Wealthy -Mansion Baron -City Native After finishing your main sim, create seven other sims. They all must be young adults and they must all have the insane trait. The other two traits and their aspirations can be whatever you want. (I recommend having a few evil, mean and romantic sims, just to make things interesting). None of the eight sims are allowed to be related. Next step is to build the asylum on a residential lot in either Willow Creek or Oasis Springs. The size of the lot does not matter. You can build the asylum yourself, download an asylum from the Gallery using the hashtag #AsylumChallenge or modify an existing house in Willow Creek or Oasis Springs. Money cheats are allowed when building or placing your asylum. Depending on your mode of difficulty depends on what objects are allowed in your asylum, but all objects must be the cheapest at the beginning (Cheap counters, cheap beds, cheap couches etc.). You cannot have objects in the asylum which affects sim’s emotions (unless the object was obtained through a career reward) or which prevents fires. When you have finished building the asylum you cannot modify further, unless sims get stuck in a certain area or your asylum saves up enough money for a new skill building item or when you can purchase an upgraded item. Pools are allowed but they are classified as a skill building item. When you have finished creating your asylum, your family funds must be at the required amount for your difficulty. To change the family funds you must first type into the cheat box “testingcheats true” (without quotations), then type into the cheat box “money (amount required). For example, for easy mode you would put "testingcheats true" followed by "money 1000" followed by "testingcheats false". Upgrading Objects When the asylum saves up a bit of money you can start replacing the cheap furniture and appliances with high quality furniture and appliances. You can only replace items, you cannot buy extra items. For example you can replace the fridge but you can’t have two fridges. You cannot upgrade objects in hard mode. Using the handiness skill to upgrade objects is allowed in all difficulty modes. Gameplay - You must only be selected on your main sim, you are not allowed to click on the other sims at all to check their needs. If they die, they die. - If you want to, at 12am, you can click on the other sims to check their inventory if they have books, food etc. When doing this your game must be paused. Cheats/mods/hacks which boost sim’s needs or skills are not allowed. High free will must be turned on, so the other sims in the asylum will do things by themselves. - You can not use your inventory to reserve items for yourself. For example, you can't put a book or guitar in your inventory just so no one else can put it in theirs. - The age settings can either be on normal or long, it’s your choice. - No rearranging of furniture to reserve or use something for yourself. For example, you can not move the TV into a bedroom and turn it on just to get an uncontrollable sim out of bed so you can sleep in the bed. Nor can you remove a door so others can't gain access to the bathroom so you can use it when you come home from work. - If a sim dies you must keep the grave on the lot, you must keep the grave on the lot. If their ghost gets too annoying (e.g. they keep breaking objects) you can banish their ghost. - Putting toilets and showers/baths in separate rooms is OK in all difficulties, as dying from embarrassment tends to occur too much. - Making your sim “work hard” in their career is ok, you cannot make the other patients “work hard” in their careers. Game Pack/Expansion Pack Changes **Outdoor Retreat** -Outdoor Enthusiast aspiration is allowed. -You can only travel to Granite Falls when you need to complete certain goals in the Outdoor Enthusiast aspiration. -When travelling to Granite Falls you must bring all of your fellow patients with you and choose the campground as your destination. **Spa Day** -When completing an aspiration, you can reward your Sim with a trip to the spa. **Dine Out** -Your Sim cannot own a restaurant. -Your household cannot visit a restaurant. **Vampires** -Vampire patients are allowed. -Vampire aspirations are allowed. **Parenthood** -Super Parent aspiration is not allowed. **Get To Work** - Alien patients are allowed. - Active careers are not allowed as they require leaving the lot. - Your Sim cannot own a retail business - If a member of the Asylum is abducted by aliens and comes back pregnant, when they give birth you have to send the baby back to Sixam. **Get Together** -You can create an Asylum club for the patients, you cannot add outside Sims to the club. -Club perks are allowed for all levels of difficulties. **City Living** -Apartments cannot be asylums Difficulty Modes and Rules There are 3 different modes of difficulty for this challenge. Easy Mode: - Starting funds: $1,000 - Complete two aspirations, then you are free! - Can have the TV and the computer at the same time. - Two sinks, two toilets and two showers/bathtubs. - No more than 6 ‘bed spots’. For example you can have 6 single beds, or 3 double beds, 1 double and 4 single beds etc. - There can only be total seating for 8. That includes couches, lounges and chairs. If you have a dining table with 6 chairs then you may not use a couch that seats 3. - You may only have a total of 5 Skill Building items in the house, so choose wisely at the start. Computers, stoves, bookcases, mirrors, and TVs don't count as skill items. It is highly recommended to have skill items which make money, for example the easel. - Everyone in the asylum is allowed a job, but the non-controllable sims must be in the Criminal Career as it is the lowest paying job. You are not allowed to level them up in their career. If they lose their job, they have lost it forever. Your main sim can have whatever job they like. (It is recommended that their job is related to their aspiration. For example a sim with the Master Chef aspiration should be in the Culinary Career) -You can purchase lifetime rewards - Having a maid and ordering pizza is allowed. - Can leave the lot to go fishing and collecting at anytime. Can only travel to other people’s houses and community lots during the hours of 9:00am-3:00pm. (When travelling to another lot you must bring everyone from the asylum along with you) - If a sim dies, no objects have to be deleted. Medium Mode: - Starting funds: $500 - Complete three aspirations, then you are free! - You cannot have a TV and a computer at the same time. It is recommended that if your sim has the Computer Whiz aspiration for example, that you should have a computer. - One sink, one toilet, one shower/bathtub. - No more than 5 ‘bed spots’. For example, you can have 5 single beds, or 2 doubles and 1 single bed etc. - There can only be total seating for 6. That includes couches, lounges and chairs. If you have a dining table with 4 chairs then you may not use a couch that seats 3. - You may only have a total of 5 Skill Building items in the house, so choose wisely at the start. Computers, stoves, bookcases, mirrors, and TVs don't count as skill items. It is highly recommended to have skill items which make money, for example the easel. - Only 2 non-controllable sims are allowed jobs, both must be in the criminal career. Your main sim can have whatever job they like. (It is recommended that their job is related to their aspiration. For example a sim with the Master Chef aspiration should be in the Culinary Career) -You can purchase lifetime rewards - No maids and no pizza. - Can leave the lot to go fishing and collecting between the hours or 7:00am-5:00pm. Can only travel to other people’s houses and community lots during the hours of 9:00am-3:00pm. (When travelling to another lot you must bring everyone from the asylum along with you) - If a sim dies, 1 seat must be deleted until there is 1 seat remaining. Hard Mode: - Starting funds: $100 - Complete four aspirations, then you are free! You cannot have a TV and a computer at the same time. It is recommended that if your sim has the Computer Whiz aspiration for example, that you should have a computer - One sink, one toilet, one shower/bathtub. - No more than 4 ‘bed spots’. For example the Master Chef aspiration requires your sim to be in the Culinary Career. -You cannot purchase lifetime rewards - No maids and no pizza. - Can leave the lot to go fishing and collecting between the hours or 12:00am-5:00am. Travelling to other lots is banned, unless your sim’s aspiration requires them to. In that, you can travel to other lots between 6:00pm-11:00pm. (When travelling to another lot you must bring everyone from the asylum along with you) - If a sim dies, 1 bed and 1 seat must be deleted until there is only 1 bed and 1 seat remaining. Aspirations In the difficulties it states that a number of aspirations must be completed. This refers to aspirations such as the Computer Wiz aspiration. It does NOT refer to groups of aspirations such as the all of the aspirations in the Creativity category. Scoring (Optional) +50: per aspiration completed. +1: per skill point any of the 8 Sims have at the end. Only living Sims count. +1: per 1000 Satisfaction points every Sim has. -20: per Sim that died. -20: per fire which has occurred. -20: per day when the power and water is shut off. (E.g. Power and Water shut off for 2 days =-40 points)769KViews3likes568CommentsNot So Berry Legacy Challenge
Not So Berry Legacy Challenge Do you like the rainbow? Do you like the idea of playing with berry Sims but hate berry Sims? Do you want to mess around with aspects of the game you’ve never used before? Boy, do I have the challenge for you! Welcome to the Not So Berry Legacy Challenge, a ten generation legacy with a focus on bright colors and new experiences. Basic Rules: Each heir must represent the color of the generation (i.e. hair, makeup, clothing), but brightly colored skin is not necessary (these aren’t actually berry Sims, that’s the joke). Of course, this is optional but a big portion of the fun. The colors of the spouses don’t matter as they aren’t part of the challenge. Unless otherwise stated you can do whatever you please with them. Money cheats can be used, but not excessively. Suggestion: use freerealestate for your first home, but no cheats afterward. You may live wherever you please unless something is specified in the rules of a generation. Every generation is supposed to complete both the career and aspiration of the heir unless explicitly stated otherwise. Keep the lifespan on normal. If you play this challenge and want to share it with us, go ahead and post with #notsoberry on twitter, tumblr, or even the gallery so we can see!763KViews1like758CommentsOne room, One week, One theme
http://i.imgur.com/i2li8o5.jpg?1 I thought that I would start a thread where Simmers can post rooms that they create based on a particular theme that is chosen for that week. There will be a theme given for the week, and during that week simmers can post rooms related to that theme. Come to this thread and post pictures of your room! It will not be a contest where there is a winner. The simming community is the winner because we all then have new rooms to download and use in our games/builds ! I just want to encourage everyone to post rooms. Your rooms will all be very warmly welcomed here! It will be interesting to see the different rooms that sims create based on the chosen theme! It will also give us new furnishing and design ideas! More information in the next posts!622KViews2likes26133CommentsThe Sims 4 I'm a Lover Challenge 10 Generations

Hello Everyone! I made a save file with only my builds and my sims, and I decided to share it with the community. A few things before I get to the pictures though. Do what you want with these save files, kill sims, marry them to whomever you see fit, whatever you want. Just please do not upload the save files or their contents anywhere. If you want to share with friends, link to this page. I know I'm not the only one who has ever made a save file. I just wanted to challenge myself as a builder and sim maker to see if I could stick with it. Any similarities between my save file and others out there are coincidental. I didn't intentionally copy anyone, these are stories and houses I wanted to make; ones I found interesting. This save file has taken me well over a year to do (redo, and do again). I have made two versions: Populated: For those who want to play with stories and sims they didn't create. With over 100 households, I'm sure someone can find a household they like. All households have backstories but are left open-ended, so you can decide how the stories play out. Non-Populated: The non-populated version has all the houses, community lots, ect, just no Sims. This is for those who love making Sims but aren't fans of building. You can have both save files in your game because they're different slot numbers (75 and 84, respectively). I don't use mods or cc so there are none (or even remnants of them in these saves). Unfortunately, since I don't use mods, the populated version starts out late into Sunday night on the first day. I had to do this to make sure the relationships were representative of the story lines for each household. There are some households that have stories that intertwine, there are families that have some family members living in other worlds. Some households are inspired by (or spoofs of) characters and story lines from tv and movies. Lastly, I assume everyone knows how to install a save file but if anyone has any questions, I'll gladly help as much as possible. Edit: I forgot to mention I used ALL of the packs. Here are the links: Version 9: High School Years (Populated) Version 9: High School Years (Unpopulated) Version 10: Growing Together (Populated) Version 10: Growing Together (Unpopulated) If you want, you can bookmark this thread. As new packs/worlds release, I will update the save file and let you know in this thread. If you play with either save files, let me know what you're doing. I want to see how everyone interprets the stories. Tell me all about it, show pics. If you play it and don't like it, tell me what needs improved upon. In the next post will be the pictures of the worlds and a few households I can't wait to play with. Edit: All future updated versions will be added to this first post. All future pictures will be added to second post. Edit (12/3/2020): I also added a Random Rotation Chart. Explanation and chart in next post. Edit (7/6/2022): Werewolves Note above, please read. Thanks! Edit (4/7/2023): Save files have been updated for Growing Together Edit (9/30/2023): Broken links. Trying to find a fix. I think it may be a forum issued not a SimFileShare issue. Edit (10/4/2023): The links seem to have been fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks for the support. Enjoy!SweetieWright_846 years agoNew Spectator615KViews3likes481CommentsRunaway Teen Challenge [Updated 03/10/19]
Runaway Teen Challenge Rules I'd reccommend reading the rules on the blog since copying and pasting to here doesn't transfer very well. If anyone thinks of something that I missed you can comment on the blog post or on the thread here. Thanks! http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-76qLfunInmM/VCjACHKJ_6I/AAAAAAAABe4/JNTO2tskPoU/s1600/09-28-14_9-56%C2%A0PM.png Rules adapted from StardustX’s original rules: You cannot build any kind of shelter for yourself until you have earned the simoleans to do so. You cannot have any electronics or appliances or cell phone access (put it on silent) until you have a home. (At least 1 kitchen, 1 bath and 1 bedroom) You can’t have a part-time job. You can’t have a full-time job when you are a young adult until you have a home. (At least 1 kitchen, 1 bath and 1 bedroom) You cannot cook/shower/etc on other people’s lots or interact with adults until you are a young adult. You’re a runaway they’ll report you as such. If your social meter gets low, you can interact with children or other teens. You can shower and use the bathroom at any public place like the gym. You can fish, garden and dig all you want and sell them. You can’t go to school. You have to cancel go to school each day. This will not affect traits. Each time you travel you subtract $10 simoleans from your funds using the money cheat. The goal is to survive. There are no “points”. You are simply trying to survive, start a new life for yourself. You should aim for having a high paying job, children and a big house. The main thing you are doing is getting money the old way by fishing, gardening, and collecting. Additional notes: Updated: The game now allows you to have a teen-only household starting in the 3/23/17 patch. In the years since I’ve adapted this challenge, I’ve only seen a few people actually make the 10×10 area on their lot. I can’t blame them. I was just trying to find a way to stick to the Sims 3 rules as much as possible and in that game, you could create a 10×10 lot. So forget lot sizes! Putting in a bunch of landscaping to box in an area makes the bills high. If you opt to make the teen look grungy and unkempt (which is kinda hard in Sims 4 without CC anyway) then you should “buy” them nicer clothes in CAS as soon as they’ve made a little money. Looking like a bum will attract too much attention. If you don’t want to use the money cheat each time you’ve traveled to subtract $10, which frankly gets annoying really quick, purchase the directional arrows that came with the base game. You may place one free wall on the lot for the arrows. Cheat yourself $60. The new shrinking option using the [ bracket would be helpful here and it might be fun to make designs on your traveling wall. If for whatever reason you are opposed to the new traveling wall you may elect to purchase a mega houseplant pot for every time you travel and the return trip. Not going to school is much easier if you que up some actions before 8am. Then you can just cancel out the “go to school” action. If they go to school you need to make them go home. Some players have sent their teens to school stating that it would attract more attention not going. It’s up to you but I’m keeping the rules as per the originals as much as possible. There still aren’t sleeping bags so if you don’t want to sleep on the bench, which I suggest, you can buy an Outdoor Retreat tent or a Get Together party bush before dropping your funds to $0. In my opinion, a runaway having the money for a bed seems unrealistic. To drop your funds do cntrl+shift+C type testingcheats on and then money 0. Your teen may move from lot to lot or apartment to apartment if you wish. Perhaps they’re trying to keep under the radar by moving around. Putting your phone on silent is pretty pointless in this game. It doesn’t work without mods so just try to ignore all of the texts and invitations that pop up every day. No accepting invites unless it is from another teen or a child. At the very start of the challenge if you’re not keeping all of the pre-made sims in the game I would suggest either creating or downloading from the gallery a household or more with teens and children so that your teen will have someone to socialize with. See also the rule regarding clubs to make this easier. Outdoor Retreat: Your runaway may take a vacation to Granite Falls but may only camp at the campsite, not the cabins. Socializing should be treated as if they were at home. Teens and children only. Spa Day: You may add a spa to your game and use this as an additional place to shower and up your needs. Dining Out: You may add a restaurant to your game and your runaway can eat there if they have the funds and use it to up other needs. This may draw attention so it would be preferable if they invite another teen or child to dine with them. Vampires: Your teen can be a vampire since this doesn’t affect aging in the teen stage but I have no idea how it would be possible to make money without burning to a crisp. Perhaps if they lived in an apartment and only collected things to sell in the dark? Get to Work: Your teen can be an alien Get to Work: Your teen may visit retail lots and planet Sixam. It would draw less attention if they visited retail lots with other teens or children. I’ve had players mention making or downloading retail lots from the gallery and using them to shop for all of their household items to make it more realistic as well. Get Together: Your teen can be in a club but only if this club is other teens and children. This would be an easy way to meet them for social as well. No starting meetings on the home lot, you must travel for meetings. City Living: Your teen may start in an apartment. For more difficulty pick one with the “Needs TLC” trait. I would highly suggest against the Gremlins trait until your teen has enough handiness to repair electronics. City Living: Substitute the rule for a tent or party bush with a blow-up mattress or cheap bed if you opt to start in an apartment. City Living: Your teen can visit any of the festivals. It’s best if they bring another teen or child along to blend in. City Living: Your teen can collect globes and posters to sell but cannot have a street table to sell things until they are a young adult. It would draw too much attention. City Living: You can freely order from vendors. Any teen would do this. If adults talk while you’re eating it’s fine to respond but you must leave after finishing. It would look very suspicious if the teen suddenly got up and moved when someone made conversation. In my and others experience, it’s almost impossible to eat in a park or in the city without some darned adult striking up a conversation. Canceling it out gets very annoying. City Living: You can only visit a karaoke bar with other teens and children. This would be a great place for a club hangout. Parenthood: Skipping school will give your teen the irresponsible trait. Thanks to TigerLover for letting me know that you can combat this through the use of school projects bought from buy mode, taking out the trash, brushing teeth, feeding pets, cleaning litter boxes, and training dogs. She was able to get the responsible trait when a few days before her teen aged up she had a full red bar. It is doable with some work. I’d highly recommend at least preventing them from getting the irresponsible trait. Especially if you plan to get them a job when they age up. Cats and Dogs: Just as in Sims 3 you can adopt a pet or befriend a stray. Be sure you can afford all of the items that the pet will need first! You can also use them to search for collectibles to sell. From what I’ve seen so far it can be very lucrative. Laundry Stuff: You may purchase the wash basin and clothesline for your home lot for realism. You may not purchase the washer and dryer until you have an enclosed space. You may add a washer and dryer to one community lot. If you’d like to you can remove some funds for their use but that is entirely up to you. Seasons: You may add to the map a lot for a shelter with no amenities beyond a pee bush to put up your tent or a cheap cot/air mattress. Examples would be an abandoned warehouse, an old barn, ruins of some sort. It might be a good idea to also add a campfire or bonfire for heating in the winter although they can survive freezing temps while in a tent or even a mattress on the ground. Seasons: I can’t see a reason why your teen shouldn’t enter the scouts. Despite it being dubbed a part-time job it isn’t. They make no money and are surrounded by other children and teens and thus should blend. The bonus to this is that a lot of the badge tasks are also ones that raise responsibility if you have Parenthood. Get Famous: Let’s pretend Drama Club is separate from the school like scouting so it’s allowed. Perhaps it’s a club sponsored at the local theatre. Get Famous: I feel that since the goal of this challenge is to stay anonymous and out of the limelight that going out of your way to gain fame goes contrary to the challenge itself and thus is not allowed. See below for an alternate ruleset. Get Famous: You can use the music producer setup for income but may not use the video production one unless following the alternate ruleset. StrangerVille: You may live in StrangerVille and complete the mystery and it’s aspiration. This would be really fun to have your teen living in a bunker! You are only allowed to speak with and befriend 1 scientist, 1 military personell, and 1 conspiracy theorist. Perhaps your teen can lie about their age. *new* StrangerVille: Bugs and their use are considered electronic devices thus requiring 1 kitchen 1 bath 1 bedroom first. Keep in mind the size doesn’t matter and the kitchen/bedroom can be one divided room. *new* Jungle Adventure Alternate Rules… At first, I’d planned to have the rules for JA the same as Granite Falls. But, MyInnerSim had the idea to have her teen live primarily in Selvadorada. So, we brainstormed and came up with this alternate version of the rules: There is no camping area like there is in Outdoor Retreat. And, assuming your teen will be spending the bulk of their time in the jungle and cannot return home except on the weekends there will be a little world editing needed before leaving for their trip! Bulldoze the smallest cabin lot to rent for your time there. There is access to all of the amenities you will need all over the place so if you’d like you can leave this lot with nothing on it. If you’re set on having a home-base of sorts you may add some items to the camp. Before you leave for your trip you will need to make some money and subtract the cost of these items: An outhouse or fenced in area with the cheapest toilet and shower, a grill, and a picnic table. If, and only if, you don’t own Outdoor Retreat and thus don’t have access to tents you may build a small shelter for a cheap bed or hide it behind some foliage or a fenced-in area. You may add to the cantina lot a computer to purchase a poison antidote (§1,000!!!) or skill books and a single GT bar game such as darts. You may add a woodworking table to the museum. Everything else should be portable items. (Your teen has a bunch of large rucksacks that they carry the things in and/or hides away.) The following are some suggestions: yoga mat or meditation stool, guitar or violin, camera, journal (mood swings in jungle eek!), any camping gear such as a tent, cooler, and portable shower, books, and if you elect to have a pet a portable bowl, ball, bed, and litter box if it’s a cat. Personally, I’ve always considered Granite Falls to be close to the regular neighborhoods. Perhaps a bus or train ride away and there are usually the same sims from the ‘hoods camping there. In this, Selvadorada is different. I’d think they would need to take a small plane or helicopter to visit there. And the locals are used to seeing tourists and don’t take much notice of them other than to sell their wares and tell their tales. So, for trips there only- you may converse with local sims older than a teen. If you are unsure if they are a local introduce yourself and if they are there will be options to ask about the jungle, etc. If not say goodbye and walk away. Your teen can visit only occasionally if you want but if they will spend the bulk of their time there the following applies… Your teen may return home to their lot to stash their treasures and work on their house on weekends when the other teens are out of school and they won’t draw notice since the sims in the area won’t be accustomed to seeing them around. If you’d rather wait until the end to build the house and pretty much live in Selvadorada and just build all at once you can. Get Famous Alternate Rules… Your teen ran away to seek fame and fortune. In this case, perhaps they are just estranged from the family and not hiding from them. You may use the music and video production and drones to earn income and fame. You may “fangirl” over the stars since that’s a very teen thing to do. As you are still trying to keep a low profile since you’re not attending school, you shouldn’t go out of your way in public to draw attention to yourself such as playing instruments in clubs. There are no points. There is no endgame or goal other than building a nice home/apartment for your teen. Most people continue playing their teens once they are young adults. Some have used them as the founder of legacies or other challenges. This would be a fun way to create a background story for your founder since you get to play it out.StormyDayzGamez11 years agoSeasoned Rookie589KViews1like444CommentsThe Legacy Challenge Mega Thread

I've always wanted to do the I'm a Lover Challenge. I love romances and ones with lots of twists and turns and drama! So, I hope you will like it. For those of you who want to take a look at the family tree, go here: DAY & KNIGHT FAMILY TREE Be aware that it is full of spoilers if you're new to the story! Photobucket has ruined the story here, so go to my website for the archive of ALL generations!!! DAY & KNIGHT ARCHIVE Generation One Generation Two GENERATION THREE GENERATION FOUR https://i.imgur.com/XbLIMIf.jpg GENERATION FIVE https://i.imgur.com/hy9kdkN.jpg GENERATION SIX https://i.imgur.com/u6KO1SE.jpg GENERATION SEVEN https://i.imgur.com/vXHY9nf.jpg So, without any more fanfare, here it is: Chapter 1.1 “Promise me, Alex,” Dad pleaded with me. He lay there on the hospital bed—a shriveled prune of a man from what he used to be. Seven years of chemo did that to a person. I swallowed, stroking his arm. “But Dad...how can I be both parents to Bri?” “You have to be. Promise.” Biting my lip, I thought about Mom and how she’d ditched us as soon as she found another man who wasn’t sick and kids who didn’t cramp her style. “I won’t be Mom.” My voice was harsh. I didn’t mean for it to come out that way, but I guess the bitterness hadn’t gone away even after six years. “Then be her father, Alex. She’s only ten. She has eight more years until she can live on her own. Y-You can work as a mechanic at your current job until then. That should earn enough to get by. After that, you can go to college. You’ll only be twenty-six. Not too old.” He squeezed my hand. “Promise.” I wanted to escape this nightmare. Seeing my father slowly deteriorate over the years had taken its toll on me, but here I was facing losing him for good and now, he was asking me to take over instead of shipping Brianna to my grandparents overseas. But I was only eighteen. How could I raise a ten year old by myself? I heard the words, “I promise,” come out of my mouth anyway. Tears stung my eyes. Dad couldn’t see me like this. It would hurt him too much. I had to be brave for him. And for my sister. Wiping my eyes and nose, I said, “Don’t worry. I’ll be her dad. I’ll make sure Bri’s taken care of.” Dad lifted the side of his mouth. “Thanks, Alex. I have no doubt you’ll do a great job. Hey... if I hadn’t said this to you in a while...” He covered my hand in his. “I love you, kid.” I smiled. “I love you, too, Dad.” Turning away, I wiped the tears streaming down my face. After the funeral, Bri and I said our last goodbyes to our father. I kissed his cold withered cheek before they closed up the casket. I’ll never forget the loud grinding of the hydraulic shovel, digging a six-foot hole in minutes. They set his casket in and dropped dirt on top and then it was over. All the visitors hugged us with gloomy looks and one by one they said their condolences and vanished. It was me and Bri. Alone. “Come on, Bri. It’s time to go home.” I wanted to get out of that dreadful cemetery. “How can we go without Daddy?” “I’m taking care of you now. Don’t worry.” “But...you’re not him. Who will tuck me in and read stories to me at night? Who will get rid of the monsters under the bed?” Holding my sister, I whispered, “I’ll be your dad from now on. No matter what happens, I’ll take care of you.” Bri looked into my eyes with her sad face. “You’ll never be Daddy.” She was right, of course, so I couldn’t argue. I only patted her on the shoulder and told her to come with me anyway. In the months that followed, I noticed I couldn’t earn enough money to keep us in food let alone pay all the bills. So I sold the house, car, anything that we didn’t need, then moved us to an area we could afford in Oasis Springs. Luckily, I found an old garage with a living area on the top floor. Nothing fancy, but it had four bedrooms, a living area and a kitchen. Plenty for me and my sister. And then I could have my own business fixing cars. It was pricey. I couldn’t buy it outright, but the landlord let me sublet it from him and he was more than happy that I could use the garage as it had been when he was young. All the renters before never used it. We could do this. My stomach plunged as I saw Mr. Richardson stroll into my garage. I hadn’t been able to overnight the part for his car and I knew he was going to be livid. The Richardsons basically own Oasis Springs and even though I’d never dealt with any of them before, their behavior was widely known. I was shell-shocked that his personal assistant had even called and brought his corvette to me in the first place. I thought rich guys used dealers, but I wasn’t going to argue with him. I needed the cash. What I didn’t expect was for the heir to the Richardson legacy—Knight Richardson himself—to pick it up in person. My heart beat like a jackrabbit getting chased by a fox. “H-Hello, Mr. Richardson,” I said, stalling. “Hey, kid. Just picking up my car.” He shot me a bright smile which only made me even more nervous. “Um...about that...it isn’t ready.” He arched an eyebrow. “What do you mean it isn’t ready? Didn’t you promise my assistant I could have it by today?” I flung my hands around, hoping to get my point across. “You see, I would have had it done. It’s actually easy to fix, but the part...it didn’t ship like they said it would. I’ll have it done by tomorrow.” Without another glance at me, Richardson marched into the shop area and tried to open the door to his car. When he couldn’t, he yelled like a spoiled two year old who was told he wouldn’t be getting any ice cream, pulling at his hair. “I’m sorry, Mr. Richardson. The car is locked and without the motherboard working, electronically it’s fried. A new one will fix everything. You’ve just got to wait one more day.” “I don’t have one more day. I need my car now.” “Don’t you have another car? I know your family is rich and...” He waved his arms angrily, “What would a snot nosed punk like you know anything about my family?” Plum. I knew I shouldn’t have mentioned his family. I didn’t like the guy but I needed the money. Kissing butt was the only remedy in this situation even though I hated to kowtow to people like him. But I was in the service business. Sometimes that was the name of the game. I backpedaled. “Listen, you are more than welcome to tow it somewhere else, but no matter where you take it, I can promise you it will take more time. Another garage hasn’t even ordered the part yet. The shipping company guaranteed it would show up tomorrow.” He jumped to his feet and shook a furious finger in my face. “Okay, punk, but if you don’t have it to me by tomorrow, I will personally rearrange your face. Is that clear?” I winced. “Yes, sir.” He stomped out of the shop, slamming the gate. Wham! I could only hope that plum part would come in the next day. I hated to see what kind of tantrum he’d pull if it wasn’t.pammiechick9 years agoNew Spectator583KViews2likes8660CommentsTS4 Parentcy Challenge
UPDATE 25/09/21: Adoptions are allowed! (excluding generation 1) I realise no adoptions wasn't a very inclusive rule and have removed it to be more inclusive! Rules No Cheats No Mods that can make the challenge easier or provide you with an advantage i.e mods that alter the prices of objects or bills or enable easier promotions etc Custom Content is allowed No quitting game without saving The heir is required to stay on the lot until they die No Lifetime Rewards (exception for gen 2 and Fertility Treatment) You are allowed to play other households as long as you do not interact with the sims involved with the legacy (so i.e I am going to change the clothes on one of the sims and I'm going to make one of their friends get married or something) When you move onto the next generation, the old heir/founder cannot earn points from their point chart, likewise, they cannot lose points either. Only skills that have been maxed by the heir to the next/of the current generation are counted for points. You may use the MC Control Center on other sims as long as they are not married to the heir, going to become the heir and/or related to the heir and still living in the household. Obviously if your sim gets abducted, there is nothing you can do about it, and that's fine. It'll be interesting to introduce alien blood into timeline. This counts for every generation: +25pts for every aspiration completed. GENERATION 1: SINGLE PARENT OF ONE (Two if they have twins, three if triplets) You create a sim. They venture out into the world to make a living. They reach level 2 of a career of your choice. They meet someone and become pregnant or impregnate someone. The other parent disappears. They are left with a baby to look after alone and this becomes their main focus until the child goes to school. 15pts for maxing a skill 25pts for maxing parenting skill -20pts for getting married before the child is a child -20pts for having a child GENERATION 2: WORKAHOLIC PARENT When the child becomes a young adult, you can begin their generation. They are completely focused on their career as their parent had not had much money to give them much stuff when they were little. When they reach the top of their career they focus on having a child. They retire. YOU MAY USE YOUNG AGAIN POTION! GTW: They can either reach the top of their career or own a retail store worth $250,000. DO: Own and run a five star restaurant 15pts for maxing a skill 20pts for retiring 25pts for reaching the top of their career/owning a retail store worth $250,000/own and run a five star restaurant -25pts if they have a child before they reach level 10 of their career GENERATION 3: PAINTER PARENT When your chosen heir becomes a young adult, you can begin their generation. They missed the presence of their parent as they were busy with concentrating on work, so they don't get a job, but make money from the paintings they paint. 5pts for reaching Level 5 in Painting Skill 15pts for reaching Level 10 in Painting Skill 15pts for maxing a skill (Not counting Painting) 30pts for making $500,000 from selling paintings -25pts for having a job GENERATION 4: COMMITMENT ISSUES PARENT When your chosen heir ages up to young adult, this generation begins. They hated how their parent spent their life just painting and did nothing else, and they swear that they will not commit to doing just one thing. You can choose any career, but they must have at least 3 and reach level 5 in each one. They have at least three different partners before they settle down. 2 points for every partner they have 10pts for every job they reach level 5 in -25pts if they get married without having at least three different partners GENERATION 5: NEGLECTFUL PARENT When the child ages to teenager this generation begins. When they age up to young adult, they get pregnant. When they have the baby they don't love it, they don't want it but they have to keep it. They neglect the child, only feeding and cleaning it. They just ignore the child and get on with their life. They don't have another child. 10pts for reaching the top of career 10pts for retiring 15pts for maxing skill -25pts for having more than one kid (unless abducted) -30pts for being friends, good friends or best friend with child after they age to child GENERATION 6: INSANE PARENT When the child reaches young adult, this generation begins. As they were neglected as a child, their parents never noticed how they weren't completely sane. They must have the traits Insane and Slob. They can have as many children as they want. They must get married and the husband/wife should do most of the housework and get a job. 10pts for retiring 15pts for maxing a skill 20pts for every marriage on lot 25pts for every marriage off lot -25pts for not having the traits Insane and Slob -30pts if they don't get married GENERATION 7: KNOW-IT-ALL PARENT When your chosen heir ages up to young adult, this generation begins. This sim is very clever and wishes to know all of the worlds secrets because their parent didn't try to learn anything. They have the traits Genius and Geek. They must max at least 3 skills and join the Scientist or Tech Guru career. They must marry a fellow geek. They can have 1 child for every two skills maxed. 10pts for maxing a skill 10pts for maxing career 35pts for maxing 3 skills 20pts for marriage on lot 25pts for marriage off lot 20pts for having baby on lot 25pts for having baby off lot -20pts for dying without maxing 3 skills -20pts for joining a career that isn't tech guru. -25pts if marry someone who isn't a geek. GENERATION 8: GETS AROUND PARENT When your chosen heir ages up to young adult, this generation begins. Their parent had a very uninteresting love life, and they're determined not to have such a boring life. Their aspiration should be Serial Romantic. They must have at least 3 different children from different men/women, all of which that they have married. 10pts for every successful date 10pts for maxing career 10pts for maxing a skill 20pts for marriage on lot 25pts for marriage off lot -20pts for having a more than one child with one particular spouse -20pts for having less than 3 children -20pts for different aspiration GENERATION 9: HOPELESS ROMANTIC PARENT When your chosen heir becomes a teenager, they can start their generation. They spent their childhood with their half-siblings, watching them go off with their other parent and going off with their own other parent. Not wanting the same separation for their children they decided that they would only marry their one true love. They must fall in love when they are a teenager (if there are no teenagers, you may download some from the gallery). They must then get married to their high school sweetheart as soon as they age to young adult and have a baby soon after they get married. They must have at least two children. 15pts for maxing a skill 25pts for marrying their high school soulmate 30pts for marrying their high school soulmate off home lot -10pts for marrying someone they didn't meet at school -25pts for having less than two children -30pts for getting a divorce -25pts for not getting married GENERATION 10: MISS/MR PARENT OF THE WORLD (COMPLETELY BASED ON GET TOGETHER SO OPTIONAL) When your chosen heir ages up to teenager, this generation begins. Listening to their parents stories about high school, they decided that they wouldn't let their whole life revolve around one other person. They want to be popular and be the leader of the most awesome club in school. When they age up to young adult, they decide that they don't want to just stop their club at high school, they want to be the leader of it forever. They keep gatherings regular. 10pts for starting a club 12pts for every club perk bought 12pts for every three friends made 20pts for building a special club lot -20pts for not hosting a gathering every week -50pts for deleting the club GENERATION 10/11: SEASONAL PARENT (COMPLETELY BASED ON SEASONS SO OPTIONAL) When your chosen heir ages up to young adult, this generation begins. IMPORTANT NOTICE: After more than a year of trying to get back to updating this challenge, only for life to throw something new in my face, I have accepted that I won't be working on this for the foreseeable future. HOWEVER, the awesome @Snowie has taken it upon herself to step into my shoes and keep this challenge alive, and she has my complete blessing to do so. If and when I return, we will figure out how to proceed. In the meanwhile, you can find the latest semi-unofficial updates here, and the matching scorecard spreadsheet here. My apologies for not keeping this challenge updated, and for taking so long to accept it, but I hope you'll enjoy it now that it is in Snowie's capable hands. /Cloudseeker LATEST UPDATE (February 29th): Fish and plants no longer count toward the money earning goal of the Prehistoric Era. The goal has been lowered to 20 000 simoleons to compensate. This is so that people won't have to decide whether to sell a fish or keep it for food. Also, the plants had the potential to make the goal absolutely trivial. The challenge-wide goal "earn 150 000 simoleons during a single Era" has been raised to 250 000 simoleons. I have added some clarification as to which social events are needed for the challenge-wide "earn 10 gold medals on each social event" goal. The cas.fulleditmode cheat is now allowed for modifying tattoos and other skin details, but ONLY for those purposes. Gaming Tables have been moved from the Roaring Twenties to the Old West. Both male and female Sims may now have multiple mates during the Prehistoric Times. Popcorn Poppers are now allowed from the Roaring Twenties onward. Movie Projectors are now allowed from the Roaring Twenties onward. Wishing Wells are now allowed from the Middle Ages onward. http://i57.tinypic.com/211rtz5.png ABOUT THE CHALLENGE The Sims 4 History Challenge is a Legacy-style challenge that takes your Sims on a journey through the history of the world. It spans 7 major time periods, referred to as Eras, from prehistoric to modern, across multiple generations of Sims. The selection of aspirations, careers, and objects you may use will be quite limited at first, but as you progress through the Eras you will unlock more and more options. You will be challenged to not only succeed in the long run, through a set of challenge-wide goals, but also on a per-Era level, as each Era has individual goals that can only be completed while that Era is active. The challenge is designed to be historically accurate on a general, foundational level, with a few changes and personal touches to keep it challenging and dynamic. I have tried to keep available careers, objects, etc appropriate to each Era, making modifications only where things would conflict or when they would just make playing the game a pain. The main inspiration for creating this challenge was the Through History Legacy Challenge for The Sims 3, as well as the Legacy Challenge. Many thanks to Cassalina and Pinstar/ImaginingMystic for inspiring me to do this. RECOMMENDED MODS/CC Please remember that downloading mods/cc is at your own risk. Though the chance may be small, they can possibly break your game. If you feel uncomfortable using mods/cc or simply don't care about things being time-appropriate, but still want to try this challenge, you are certainly free to do so. While this challenge technically does not require any mods or custom content, the following mods/cc are recommended in order to have as good an experience as possible. In addition to the listed mods/cc, feel free to download as many additional aesthetic mods/cc as you want, such as hair, clothes and time-appropriate object variations, to give your challenge a bit more life. However, you may not use any cheat mods, or mods that otherwise give you an advantage over people who do not use them. If you find a mod/cc that you think would be good for this challenge, let me know and I'll add it to the list if I think it belongs. Teen Careers For All Ages by Plasticbox (outdated, may not work) No More Culling by Dark Gaia To avoid the ghosts of family members being removed, allowing the related Modern Day goal to be properly completed. Nature Calls Wild Grass Toilet by LadyCadaver To give Prehistoric Sims a place to do their business. Not needed if you have Get Together. Notebook by Plasticbox To give Early Civilization Sims a way to write books before the invention of the computer. Typewriter by Ozyman To give Old West Sims a way to write books and do career-related activities before the invention of the computer. Empty Worlds by One Billion Pixels (recommended by @ewright9) Only download this if you do not want to manually delete all lots and households during the setup phase. DO NOT FORGET TO MAKE BACKUPS! No More Autonomous Phone Actions by SimsProductions (recommended by @ewright9) Stops Sims from constantly using their phones on their own. Not necessary if you play with autonomy off, obviously. SupeSpeed Mod by Artum (recommended by @ewright9) Use this to manually activate super-speed in case it doesn't automatically get activated when Sims go to sleep. Gain Hygiene from Swimming by Tanja1986 Use this if your Sims no longer gain hygiene from swimming in pools. Download the normal version, not the "Faster Hygiene gain from swimming" version. No Autonomous Roast at Campfire by ClaudiaSharon (recommended by @Anninhaliz) Stops Sims from autonomously roasting random stuff on the campfire. Not necessary if you play with autonomy off, obviously. SrslySims Tumblr by @SomaSin Multiple time-appropriate object variations created with this challenge in mind. The No More Culling mod is a script mod, and so it is important that it is installed correctly. Make sure that you place the .zip file directly in your mods folder (not in a subfolder), without unzipping it. You must also allow script mods in the game options. EXPANSIONS/GAME PACKS/STUFF PACKS To play this challenge as intended, you will need the Outdoor Retreat Game Pack, as it contains a number of items and gameplay mechanics that are necessary for the Prehistoric Era. Other EPs/GPs/SPs are not required, but you can use them if you wish. I have added special, optional rules for them, and those rules are colour coded so that you can easily see and disregard rules that relate to an EP/GP/SP that you don't have. The EP/GP/SP colour coding is as follows: Outdoor Retreat Get To Work Luxury Party Stuff Perfect Patio Stuff Spa Day Cool Kitchen Stuff Spooky Stuff Get Together Movie Hangout Stuff Romantic Garden Stuff CHALLENGE-WIDE RULES The following rules apply to the entire challenge, but may have exceptions during a specific Era, if the rules of that Era explicitly say so. All traits and aspirations, except for those of your Ancestors, must be decided randomly, using whatever method you prefer. I personally recommend using CreateARandomSim, as it allows you to easily select which traits and aspirations should be considered for randomization. A Sim's aspiration may never be changed, not even once it is completed. The only exception to this rule is if a Sim has an aspiration that is not allowed for the current Era, in which case you must change it to an allowed aspiration, chosen at random. Your challenge household may not move to a different lot during the challenge, and you may not play any households other than your challenge household. Your Sims may travel freely within the challenge World, and may travel to other Worlds if required by a challenge goal or an aspiration. Sims may be moved out of the household at any time, but moved-out Sims may never be moved back in. Sims that have moved out may also no longer contribute to any goals, but any contributions they made before moving out still count. Only spouses/mates may be moved into the household, but they may not bring in any money. To prevent this, make sure that they are not the only member of a household before moving them in, or use the money cheat to remove any money they may bring in. Moved-in spouses/mates may contribute to goals. The Lifespan setting must be set to “normal”. Sims may not be aged up manually except for when it actually is their birthday. Items that modify a Sim's age (except for the Birthday Cake), or resurrect dead Sims, may never be used. Sims are allowed to Plead with the Reaper to save a dying Sim, but they may not use a Death Flower to guarantee success. Cowplants may be grown, but not sold. Cow Berries may be sold, however. If you want to get rid of a grown cowplant, simply place it in your family inventory. Additionally, you may milk cowplants, but if you do, you must immediately sell the received Essence. Reward Potions, like the Instant Fun, Happy Potion, and Moodlet Solver potions may not be purchased or used until you have reached the Middle Ages. Potions of Youth are still forbidden, however. Cheats may not be used, except for getting out of glitched/bugged situations, or when you are explicitly told to use a cheat. EXCEPTIONS: moveobjects may be freely used for aesthetic purposes, cas.fulleditmode may be used to modify tattoos and other skin details (but NOTHING else), and bb.showhiddenobjects may be used to add ponds to community lots. Fishing in the hidden areas (Sylvan Glades, Forgotten Grotto, etc) may only be done by Sims that have reached level 10 in the Fishing skill. The different Eras have lists of what objects/furniture may be used during that Era, and they append to the objects allowed for the previous Era. For example, during the Middle Ages, you may use all objects that are allowed for the Middle Ages, Early Civilization, and The Prehistoric Times. However, to try and avoid walls of text in the rules, I have only listed objects that have some special functionality. For items not specifically allowed for an Era, the general rule is to use it only if it makes sense for that Era, but if you are unsure, it's always safe to just not use any items that aren't specifically allowed. Some community lots might however require objects that are not yet allowed for the current Era. In such cases, just place the objects in a room/basement without an entrance, so that Sims cannot get to them. Sims are allowed to craft anything they can on the woodworking table, and objects they craft may be used even if that type of object would normally not be allowed in the Era-specific rules. The "Copy" option on crafted items (Paintings, woodwork, etc) may not be used. If you want two crafted chairs, you'll have to craft two chairs. Ghost Sims, except for the ghosts of your Ancestors, may be moved into the household, and they may contribute to goals if they were eligible to contribute to goals while they were alive. However, only one Ghost Sim may be moved in per Era, and a moved in Ghost Sim must be Released to the Netherworld when you progress to the next Era. Instead of storing all of your urns/graves on your challenge lot, you may create a Generic community lot to act as a dedicated challenge graveyard. Alien Sims may not join the household until the Roaring Twenties. If a Sim should happen to be abducted and made pregnant before this, you must either terminate the pregnancy using a mod or cheat, or send the baby to its homeworld as soon as it is born. Crafted items sold in a personal store may not be restocked using the restock option, they must be re-crafted by a Sim in the household in order to be sold again. Clubs may be created and joined at any time. Use your common sense when setting club activities, so that they fit the Era. ERAS There are a number of general goals that cover the entire challenge, but each Era also has its own set of individual goals and restrictions that are specific to that Era. The goals are locked to their specific Era, and therefore can only be completed while in that Era. Restrictions, on the other hand, are additive, so everything that gets unlocked in one Era stays unlocked, for every Era after it, unless it is explicitly re-locked. In other words, if something is not directly stated as allowed or disallowed in the rules of your current Era, the rules of the previous Era apply for that particular thing. You progress to the next Era when a new generation is born, i.e. when the child who began the Era (or one of their siblings) has a child. Something like this, for example: http://i57.tinypic.com/2uz9ma1.png The only exception to this is the Prehistoric Era (this is further explained in the Prehistoric Era post). GETTING STARTED It is recommended that you start a fresh, new game for this challenge, since you cannot play any other households than your challenge household in that save file. Create your two Ancestors, one male and one female, both Young Adult, and both human. Give them a prehistoric/tribal look, and choose their aspirations and traits out of the ones allowed for the Prehistoric Era. Make sure their relationship is set to “Roommates”. Consider sharing your Ancestors on the Gallery, using the #HistoryChallenge tag, so that others may add them to their game. Choose either Willow Creek, Oasis Springs, Newcrest or Windenburg to be your challenge World. Newcrest is recommended, since it spares you the trouble of bulldozing everything. Select any empty lot in your chosen World (the largest available lot if you chose Newcrest) and move your Ancestors onto it. As soon as you regain control, exit back out to the “Manage Worlds” screen. If you did not choose Newcrest as your challenge World, select your Ancestors on their lot, and click “Move Family”. Move them to a 50x50 lot, bulldozing it and evicting any family already occupying it. If you did not download the Empty Worlds mod, and did not choose Newcrest as your challenge World, bulldoze all other lots in your challenge World. Delete all households except for your Ancestors. Place a Pool Venue and/or a National Park community lot somewhere in your challenge World. If you want to, you may also place a couple of residential lots in your challenge World. You may create these lots as you go, or place them from the Gallery, as long as they adhere to the rules of the Prehistoric Era. You may also move in a couple of additional households, if you wish. If you decide to create lots and/or households, consider sharing them on the Gallery, using the #HistoryChallenge tag, so that others may add them to their game. Finally, select your Ancestors and start playing. Use the following cheat to set your household funds to the proper starting amount: Open the cheat console Enter testingcheats on to enable advanced cheats OPTIONAL: Enter money 1000 to set the household's funds to 1000 simoleons, and buy some decorative trees, shrubs and rocks using that money. Note that this will increase your bills, and these objects cannot be sold until the end of the Prehistoric Era. Enter money 2500 to set the household's funds to 2500 simoleons Enter testingcheats off to disable advanced cheats Close the cheat console You are now ready to start the challenge! CHALLENGE-WIDE GOALS These are the long-term goals of your family. They can be contributed to and completed at any point in the challenge, by any Sim that is eligible for contributing to goals. They award points upon completion, no points are awarded for partially completed goals. A simple Excel spreadsheet for keeping track of these goals, as well as the individual Era goals, can be found here. If you'd rather keep track of your score using pen and paper, a printable PDF version can be found here. Also, @ewright9 has made a small sheet specifically for keeping track of the 50 000 simoleons goal of the Prehistoric Era, and it can be found here. Reach level 10 in every skill at least once - 1 point Earn 10 gold medals on each different type of social event - 1 point Only the base game social events are required. These are House Party, Dinner Party, Birthday Party, Wedding and Date. Earn 250 000 simoleons during a single Era - 2 points Reach level 10 in 2 different careers on the same Sim - 2 points Reach level 10 in 10 different skills on the same Sim - 3 points Have the same Sim earn at least 20 000 Satisfaction points - 3 points Complete each aspiration at least once – 4 points Complete at least 10 in-game collections – 4 points Represent each Era with a family portrait/photo – 5 points A "family" portrait means a single portrait with both parents and at least 1 child in it. The child must be older than the “baby” stage. The parents do not necessarily have to be the child's actual parents, as long as they are the parent figures of the household. The portraits/photos must be on display somewhere on the lot in order to count. Display the graves/urns of all deceased family members on the challenge lot or on a dedicated graveyard lot - 5 points The graves of family members that died while they were not part of the household do not need to be displayed. I've plunged into the Amazon challenge and it's been so much fun! Thanks to @lovejess2 for recreating it from a Sims 3 version on Modthesims. For details, click here: The Amazon challenge. For fans--here is the current family tree (SPOILERS for those who haven't read through yet!) : TRIBE WAHINE FAMILY TREE Here's the generation five family tree update: TRIBE WAHINE 5th generation Also, as my tribe grew, I needed more than 8 sims to control in the household, so I use the larger household mod. Go here to download it and use in your game as well: Larger Household Mod I'm proud to say this won EA's Spring Story Contest. You can check out the article about it here: Tribe Wahine If you want to start your own challenge and would like to write a sim lit story too, check out @Julyvee94 's guide here: SimLit Guide To start out, you need a creator--basically, the leader--a queen of the tribe. Here is mine--Abra Wahine Notice her necklace--that will be handed down to each creator as well as her bracelet. This is her with her two slaves--Akamu Slave and Anakoni Slave This is the beginning compound--the amazon's complex where only women live. Slave hut Pit of Death The boys weren't working, so Abra, my creator, had to punish them by yelling. It worked! When it's time to breed, Abra does a ceremony with the chosen slave. Little does he know this will seal his doom. When I first read the rules, I thought breeding slaves had to be terminated after breeding, but this is not the case. I didn't realize this until much later...unfortunate! But I'd have to excommunicate the breeding slaves anyway. You don't want everyone related to each other nor do you want your women to become attached. Here, Abra finds out she's pregnant. She has mixed emotions because she must inform Akamu that it's his time to sacrifice himself for his tribe. She's breaking the news to Akamu. So sad! But she's a strong amazon and knows what's good for her tribe. Akamu is shaved and painted and given his last meal at night. When dawn breaks, he will be sacrificed. Sacrificing ceremony. Akamu was a good slave, so he receives the rights of an honorable death. Akamu was very strong--he lasted all day until the middle of the night. My other slaves went much quicker. He really was my best slave. I miss him! For some reason, Grimmy wanted to have a discussion about Abra's unusual death practices. And he didn't wait until she was decent! She made her case for her culture, he pecked out a few notes on his ipad, and misted away. (Abra: "Sorry, Grimmy, we're not like other sims who have burgers and fries! We eat off the land." Time passed and the work was too much for Abra. She wasn't making much money at her job and she was down one slave. She needed a woman! Someone who could tend the garden, fish, and hunt for treasure. This is Adda Green, her gatherer. I decided to make the other tribeswomen have their own surnames so we could keep up with which child was attached to which woman. All outfits will have green in them for my gatherers. Adda is formally sworn in and ready to work! Later, Akamu visits the creator. They share a special closeness. It's good for the clan that he leaves. Abra thinks about banishing his spirit, but can't bring herself to do it. She doesn't tell her gatherer, Adda, about her attachment. This could spell trouble in her tribe down the road. Hope you like it. I know I'm having a blast playing it--especially with this strange culture. I'm thinking of making a whole amazon village, too. If you need an extra slave, I put the early version of Akamu on the Gallery. He's listed under Chris Slave and you can find him with the hashtag #amazonchallenge or go to my page under pammiechick. Here's a link to the gallery that hopefully will work: Chris Slave I made him very slave worthy--angling ace, loves outdoors, neat. He's the best slave I've had so far--I've had five. One ran away and I still have two. Lots of drama! ;)pammiechick10 years agoNew Spectator512KViews1like3591Comments☆☆ Sims 4 Quality Control Contest ~ Challenge 74 up due (EST) 9th March ☆☆
https://i.imgur.com/xZrfnEH.png https://i.imgur.com/AYPddEL.png Welcome to my Sims 4 Quality Control Contest, this competition is a builders and designers contest. I love seeing how creative people can be and I have been a part of some wonderful competitions on these forums. I could only dream this competition becomes as popular as them but for now we will see how it goes. My goal with this challenge is to see people improve, I started out having no idea how to build anything but a square box house. I started entering competitions and never dreamed I could build some of the things I have today, though I still have a lot to learn. I see a lot of builds on the gallery that look wonderful on the outside but are lacking on the inside with decor or simply play ability with sims so this competition is all about Quality.
