One Month One World One Year Challenge 2026
Hello and welcome. :) This challenge was started by Karababy52 (see more here) and I would like to continue it on for another year if I can. Hopefully more people can join in. The more the merrier! The premise of this challenge is pretty simple. The goal is to post one in-game screenshot once a day during the 2026 year. So, kind of like a 365 project for your sims. You will start out with a teen sim and pick your starting world. I'll share a list of suggestions, but really you can pick whatever you want. Your sim will be a teen for 3 real world months, then age-up to Young Adult in April. They will spend 4 months as a Young Adult, then age-up to Adult in July. They will spend 4 more months as an Adult, then age-up to Elder in December. Each month your sim will move to a new world to explore. I've taken all the rules and guidelines here and copied them over from Karababy52's 2023 post and edited them slightly. Rules/Guidelines: One screenshot post per real life day in this thread with a short text summary. One world per real life month - See monthly schedule of worlds in spoiler below. Optional: May change schedule of worlds to reflect your preferences. Your challenge Sim MUST be a teen to officially begin this challenge and post in the thread. Exception: If you are starting the challenge late, you may begin in the current month at whatever age the challenge is at, or you may start as a teen to quickly finish your aspiration and school, then fast forward to the current age. (Example - if you start in April you may hurry through the teen stage and age up to YA, or just start as YA). After three real life months have passed, your Sim will age up to young adult for four months, adult for four months and finally, age up to an elder for December. Timeline posted in spoiler below. Optional: How long your Sim stays in each life stage, teen-elder, is at your own discretion. However, they are required to be at minimum a young adult to attend Uni in Britechester. *Note: If you own the High School Years EP, your Sims may be offered early graduation. If they take the offer, your teen is allowed to apply, enroll, and attend university or join full-time adult careers. Begin Rags to Riches style on an empty lot with 0 simoleons. Optional: Use the 20,000 starting simoleons to buy a starter home and furnish it how you want. Aging off. Optional: May use long lifespan. All unplayed residential worlds are off limits for any kind of travel. Exception: Newcrest may be designated a 'neutral' world to place venues for your Sim to use regardless of their current world residence. Optional: Newcrest may be used to replace a pack you don't own instead. Optional: Your sim may travel to other worlds not used in the challenge if they get an invitation. Sims may take a vacation to any of the designated vacations worlds. Rental lots in unplayed residential worlds are off limits. Aspirations released with a world must be fulfilled first. May choose a base game or other pack aspiration not in the challenge to complete afterward. Optional: Only one aspiration released with a world must be completed before choosing base game or other pack aspirations. Willow Creek, Oasis Springs, Newcrest and Magnolia Promenade may be used in substitution for worlds listed in the challenge for packs you may not own. In that event, choose one or two base game or other packs aspirations not in the challenge to complete per world. Your Sim may marry and/or have children. Aging up children is at your own discretion. High School attendance is not required. May use cheats to fulfill daily/promotional task requirements. *Exception: Applicable only if you do not own the High School Years EP or if you do own it, but have elected not to have your Sim live in Copperdale and do the aspirations associated with the EP in your challenge. The beginning of each new month/world starts Rags to Riches style. Optional: Your Sim may keep everything they have accumulated and use their funds to buy or build a new house, or even move their house to their new world. If your challenge Sim dies, it's game over. Optional: You may bring them back to life and continue or use another existing Sim in the household to complete the challenge. Or, keep playing as a ghost! Occult states and Celebrity statuses must be removed when progressing to the next month/world. Optional: May keep acquired lifestates/statuses. *Note: Vampires can't get a suntan, which is a Beach Life aspiration task. If a new world is released with a new pack at any time during 2026, you have the option to swap the new world with another prior released world. Give yourself a break and don't stress over days missed due to internet outages, vacations/holidays, real life work/responsibilities or sickness. Extra story screenshots may be posted, but try to keep it to around 5-10 max. There's no limit for screenshots shared on your blog. May use satisfaction points to buy rewards. Exception: Money tree seeds are disallowed. Lottery tickets are disallowed for purchase. Beginning season, length of days and moon phases are your choice. May turn off or cheat away/change all Eco Lifestyle features applied to worlds. Exception: Must be turned on while living in Evergreen Harbor. May participate in all default Holidays, modify, delete and/or add your own. May include a link to your preferred Blog site with additional story text/screenshots, in addition to your Daily Post Pic/Text Summary. Mod friendly challenge! However, please use discretion when using them. Using a mod to fulfill an aspiration is disallowed. Exception: May be used to correct bugs and/or glitches. Hi everyone. 🙂 This is the continuation of a story I started back in March on the old Vanilla forum. If you were a regular follower of the 'What Happened In You Game Today' thread, you already know Aurora and her little family. Her save started out as just for fun. To explore things within the game that I never had before. I was just going to share a few screenshots with captions. The original idea for this save was to only be about Aurora and her sidekick, her Bernese, Piccolo. But I realized a couple of weeks ago that, yeah, it had become a story. And it deserved its own space here on the new forum. This post and the next couple will help those of you who aren't familiar, become familiar. And since the previous updates were scattered over like 75-100 pages of the old WHIYGT thread it's a nice reminder for everyone that had been following along. The title is also a hint at another change. I'm going to start writing each update like it was an entry in Aurora's diary. I may still write something here and there in a more traditional style with dialogue though. I'm also getting ready to start the reboot of my other story and by writing this one like a diary it's a lot easier to do both and still keep this interesting. So let me introduce you to everyone. Aurora Westbrook-Carter Aurora came back to her country roots. Her parents left Chestnut Ridge just as she entered her teens. She still came back to see her grandparents during the summers. She loved those visits and getting away from the city. After graduating high school she went to art school where she honed her painting and photography skills. But she never lost her love for the quiet country life in Chestnut Ridge. Now she's back where she feels most at home. Tre Carter Aurora's husband Tre came from an entirely different background. He grew up on the streets of Del Sol Valley just like his father. His mother came from Ciudad Enamorada. Yet Tre has always fascinated by the country life. He has an abiding love for horses too. Even if his first real life encounters weren't exactly smooth. Piccolo Aurora's loyal sidekick. Peanut (l), Nashville(back), and Spirit Peanut is Aurora's champion American Saddlebred. I’m planning to move my legacy save into a clean new
I’m about to start the process of moving my very beloved, 41 generation Legacy save. At this point the save is 3 (actually more, I’ll elaborate later) years old and is very slow and sluggish. As well as buggy. I’m currently suffering from an annoying freezing bug I’m and it has meant I’m constantly loosing progress and feeling frustrated.I had hoped to tough it out until at least gen 50 and hope for a bug fix but the lag has become nearly intolerable and I feel constantly paranoid about every little bit of lag that could cause the bug to occur. My tree has also broken twice so it’s hard to see the whole family without a third party app like plumtree. (Which I have using for a few months now) And it will be nice to at least be able to fix the main legacy line, even though I know I won’t be able to get most if not all of the cousins. And you know after 41 generations of the same family all of the townies are dead, and I’m running out of space to build. This save has also been through so many updates that it’s probably best to start fresh, this was originally an old save I abandoned and decided to re-use, so how old it actually is I have no idea. There are also so many bug fixes that have rolled out lately that are not retroactive. So, after much debate and a lot of anxiety. I have made the decision, that while I am wrapping up the current generation. I am going to start the process of moving all of my legacy sims and some of my lots. This will mean my next generation will start on fresh save and a new beginning. So I thought I’d make a fun little post here for me to chronicle my experiences doing it as well as let everyone else share their’s! And we can all share tips and tricks with each other. Everyone, including yourself, spent all their savings on this house, so you must start with 0 Simoleons. You must join the Detective career and climb all the way to the top. Along the way, you fall in love with one of your colleagues, start a family together, and move out with them. You can only have 1 child. The child must be popular at school—except with their one enemy. Since you are very popular and find it easy to make friends, you must find 7 friends to form a close-knit friend group. You must be a stay-at-home parent/housewife. You can only earn money through hobbies, like Painting. You must marry a husband who is a well-known Artist. Have at least 3 children. Required Packs: Cottage Living Generation 3: Threads of Fate (inspired by Pinocchio) Location: Newcrest Hey there, my name is ……………….. and I come from the countryside. I was always unpopular there. Everyone called me a real troublemaker. Well, I guess I was. Growing up with two older siblings, I always had to fight for my place as the youngest—and yep, I succeeded. Anyway, my parents raised me perfectly, and to be honest, now that I'm here, I really miss my childhood. I moved to Newcrest just so I wouldn't have to deal with people giving me dirty looks whenever I walk through the village. My name is ……………….. and this is my life!!! Rules: Your Sim must have the Mischief trait (or love Mischief). Your parents gave you a good amount of starting money, but you spend it very recklessly. You must first learn what it means to be an adult and stand on your own two feet. To earn your first Simoleons, you have to lie (use Mischief interactions to get money). Find a wife who hates Mischief. Try to change your ways for your wife. The townspeople play a prank on you by making you get surgery for a "big nose" because of your lies (just change this in Create-a-Sim!). Have at least 2 children. Required Packs: None required Generation 4: Wings of Courage (inspired by Dumbo) Location: Chestnut Ridge Howdy! My name is …………… and I come from the small town of Newcrest. It has always been my big dream to work in the circus. Unfortunately, I was bullied at school because of my strange dialect/accent, which honestly hurt my feelings a lot. But over time, I noticed that my accent actually made people laugh. That’s when I realized I’d be perfect as a clown! Now I’m on my way to my brand new life. My name is …………….. and this is my life!!! Rules: You must enter the Entertainer career (Comedian branch) and climb all the way to the top. Your best friend is always by your side and never made fun of your accent. When reaching adulthood, you suddenly lose your accent, making you worry about your future career. When you lose your accent, you suddenly feel like your ears are way too big and you start blaming yourself, even though nobody else notices. You must own a horse that you will later perform with in the circus. Find a life partner. Have at least 4 children, and raise them all so they can work in the circus later too. I’ve always been interested in biology—but not human biology, plant biology! Sadly, there was never a forest or much nature back home, just a few cacti. Because of that, I decided to move to the countryside, right by the edge of the woods. I heard that my ancestors owned a small farmhouse there, and since nobody is living there right now, I thought: why not? And now, here I am. My name is …………………. and this is my life!!! Rules: Start with a fully furnished house but 0 Simoleons. Study Biology at University, but don't graduate with a perfect A grade because there is too much human biology involved, which doesn't interest you at all. After university, join the Conservationist career. Since the forest is right next to your house, go for frequent walks there to uncover the secrets of the woods. Through your research on trees in your free time, you "discover" photosynthesis. Find a life partner. Have at least 3 children. Required Packs: Cottage Living, Discover University, Eco Lifestyle Generation 6: A Spark of Midnight (inspired by Cinderella) Location: Windenburg Hello, my name is ……………………… and I come from the village of Henford-on-Bagley. My childhood wasn't the absolute best. As it usually goes in the countryside, I had to help out a lot in the garden and the kitchen. Especially being the youngest child by a long shot, with my two older siblings already moved out. But my childhood still had good parts; for example, I used to play board games with my dad all the time. But now, I want to tell you about the best day of my life. At prom, when the music suddenly got faster, ……………….. and I got closer, and we shared a kiss. My name is ………………….. and this is my life……………………………!!!!!! Rules: Your Sim is very mature for their age because they had to do so many household chores as a child. Move out together with your partner. Stay a stay-at-home parent/housewife, but try to become a famous painter—though your finances are tight. You can have a maximum of 3 children. Required Packs: Growing Together Generation 7: Between Dream and Reality (inspired by Peter Pan) Location: Copperdale Hello, my name is …………………. and I come from the beautiful town of Windenburg, a place famous for making friends. That’s how I found my 3 best friends, and together we want to discover something huge. We want to solve the Jungle Mystery of Selvadorada! We know it's a long way and a massive journey, but it has always been our biggest dream. We moved to Copperdale because the rent is cheaper there, and we don't need a fancy house since we'll be traveling most of the time anyway. My name is ………………… and this is my life!!!! Rules: Move to Copperdale with your friends, which will be your main home. Your ultimate goal is to solve the mystery of Selvadorada with your friends. During your adventures, you encounter your arch-enemy who is trying to solve it too, but you want to beat them to it. Because of this pressure, you argue a lot with your friends because you want to rush through the mystery. Find your life partner during your adventures. Have at least 3 children. My life has been pretty cool. I spent my entire childhood going on adventures and I absolutely loved it. Something new every day! However, it’s time to live my own life now. I’ve ended up in the wonderful pet-friendly town of Brindleton Bay. I just want to live a relaxed life, have lots of kids, and own some dogs. My name is ……………. and this is my life!!!!!!!! Rules: Your very first goal is to adopt or find a dog. While walking your dog, you suddenly meet your life partner, who also owns a dog that your dog falls in love with. Your partner must have the Cat/Dog Lover trait. Have at least 5 children. Try to let your dogs have as many puppies as possible too. Both partners must open and run their own Vet Clinic. You must have 10 pets in your relationships/friend list. (Tip for this generation: It is recommended to use the MC Command Center mod to increase the household capacity limit!) My life has always been surrounded by animals, but did they actually interest me? No, not really. I’ve always been a person of nature—specifically trees, just like my ancestor from Generation 5! Did you know she discovered that photosynthesis exists? Wow, she has always been my role model. I want to protect the environment and maybe find out even more about photosynthesis. My name is …………………. and this is my life!!!!!! Rules: Join the Conservationist career, but quickly realize it’s not quite what you wanted. Quit your job and start researching trees independently and completely on your own. Your parents couldn't afford university for you, which is why you believe you've discovered something brand new about trees—only to realize someone else already found it out long ago. You venture deep into the woods and get lost. Because you are lost, you start imagining things, like a panther talking to you. In the forest, you meet your life partner, who actually saves your life. Have at least 1 child. Required Packs: Eco Lifestyle Generation 10: The Magic of the Hundred Acre Wood (inspired by Winnie the Pooh) Location: Willow Creek Hello, my name is ……………………… and I come from the eco-friendly town of Evergreen Harbor. What is there to say about me? Oh, I know: I love honey! Honey is my passion, honey is my life. That’s why I decided to move out; my parents were annoyed that I kept using bees just for my food. But you know what? I don’t care! I decided to pack up and move to Willow Creek. I can’t wait for all the beehives I’m going to own. My name is …………………….. and this is my life!!!!!!! Rules: Start with 0 Simoleons on an empty lot. You are addicted to honey and must eat honey at least once every single day. The very first objects you must buy are 3 beehives. You are friendly to all your neighbors and friends, but when it comes to your honey, you become completely selfish. When all your bees unfortunately die, you go into the nearby forest to look for wild bees. At first, no bees appear, but then something very strange happens... Find a wonderful life partner. Have at least 2 children. Required Packs: Seasons Generation 11: Voices of the Sea (inspired by The Little Mermaid) Location: Sulani Hello, my name is ……………………… and I come from Willow Creek. My dad is a total honey freak—honestly, it’s not even normal anymore. Thank goodness I didn't inherit that. I was always a child of the sea, even though I'm not a mermaid. I just feel incredibly drawn to the ocean, which is why I decided to move to the coast. I found a beautiful little property there, applied for it, and got accepted! However, I had to spend all my savings on it and I’m even in debt now, because my dad spent all our family money on honey and bees. My name is ……………… and this is my life!!!!!!!! Rules: Start in a furnished house but with 0 Simoleons. You start with 3,000 Simoleons of debt (you can use money cheats to lower your funds into the negatives or just keep track), which must be fully paid off during your Young Adult stage. Find a Merman as your life partner. Your biggest dream is to become a Mermaid yourself. To turn into a Mermaid, you must completely max out the friendship bar with a dolphin. Have at least 3 children. Required Packs: Island Living Generation 12: Behind the Mask (inspired by Beauty and the Beast) Location: Moonwood Mill Hey, my name is …………………. and I come from the beaches of Sulani. My mom turned into a mermaid because it was her biggest wish, but honestly, it wasn’t mine. Instead, I found my prince charming—well, at least that’s what I thought. One night, my sweetheart showed me his hometown and where his family comes from. I was instantly fascinated, though a little scared too. He assured me he wasn't a werewolf, but when one of his family members suddenly bit him, he turned into one right before my eyes. From that moment on, the nightmare truly began. My ultimate goal now is to find a way to cure him and turn him back into a human. My name is ……………………… and this is my life... Rules: Move onto an empty lot with your boyfriend, starting with 0 Simoleons. Your boyfriend must start as a regular Sim, but must turn into a Werewolf early on. Because your boyfriend can't control his werewolf rages, he starts acting meaner and meaner to you. You want to cure him by brewing or obtaining the Wolf-B-Gone cure (The Potent Remedium). During his wild werewolf phase, your Sim must cheat on him once, but you will ultimately get back together with him. Have at least 2 children. You must officially get married at the very end once he is cured. Required Packs: Werewolves

Hi lovely friends! I'm rolling out this quick creativity challenge today April 3, 2020 in an effort to give you more exciting things to do as we all #StayAtHome in the weeks ahead. The main goal of this challenge is to design and upload original creations quickly and on weekends only. The focus of these creativity challenges is to grow your CAS skills since that's the creative section I'm most passionate about in The Sims. However, I may choose to challenge you on rooms and builds too as the challenge continues. The rules and creative direction will be posted here each Friday. Creek Tales - A Pack Legacy Challenge (updated 07/11)
When Maxis introduced the option of turning packs off and on in game, I was wildly tempted to create a Pack Legacy Challenge for the game. Of course, someone else already did, but as usual, I'm all about creating my own rules based on my own playing style and play badly when others dictate my game, which of course means I'll make the rules up as I go, still there are a few basics. Basic guidelines I intend follow: I will start with an entirely base game family, the Creek-family (introduced below). They (including the kids) are generation 1 of this challenge. With every new generation at least one new pack (EP, GP, SP or Kit) will be unlocked. That generation then has to truly explore that pack, meaning jobs, looks, decorations, aspirations, traits, skills even deaths should be explored to the fullest by the sims born in that generation. The exception is seasons, which will be unlocked as the oldest child of gen 1, Willow, ages up to a teen. Which pack that will be unlocked will depend on the first trait given to the first child in the next generation (so a family orientated child will unlock parenthood or growing together, depending on which have been unlocked before). Some traits only unlock kits. In that case the second trait given to a child of that generation will unlock a pack. Some kits will also be unlocked with a specific pack if it feels like a good combination, like country kitchen with cottage living or industrial loft with city living. And some rules (yes, even I have a few rules): All traits are to be given randomly, with the exceptions being that a sim of a new generation MUST take traits of a newly unlocked pack if there are any, randomly if there are several. When every trait of the newly unlocked pack is assigned to a sim in game, randomness for all available traits are allowed. When the first child of the next generation receive their first trait, true randomness applies as that will dictate the next pack to unlock. A new pack is unlocked when the oldest child of a generation ages up to teen. No CC is allowed, a part from the occasional ad-on pack (separations of items already in game, matching chairs to a sofa or more window options). Even add-ons should be kept to a minimum. This is after all about exploring the packs to their fullest. Mods are allowed, but not those that significantly adds gameplay options (such as career-mods, new aspirations, traits or new gameplay). The purpose here is to explore the options of the packs after all. For me, myself, I intend to start out only with BetterBuildBuy and MCCC and try to keep other mods to a minimum (that lasted less than an hour, there are simply too many things I cannot live with in game, but the aim is the same, keep mods to a minimum and no mods that adds gameplay). As for the rest, well that's up in the air still. I plan on starting with aging on normal, but as that is very new to me, I might change that to long instead as I've never managed to live with normal age span before. Either way, adult lifespan will be about twice the usual length for how else are they going to be able to see their kids grow up and have kids of their own? Alphabet SuperLegacy Challenge Rules
Updated for Royalty & Legacy and Lady Bridgerton's Masquerade Ball event. This is a legacy challenge where each generation represents a different letter, and must explore all of the game play starting with that letter: aspirations, collections, woohoo spots, reward store traits, you name it. I already have a thread for this challenge that has been updated through Crystal Creations. Since it was transferred from the old forum, it was very hard to update further. Ignore any objective related to a pack you don’t own. You can choose to skip a generation if your pack limitations leave it extremely short on content. I've removed two of the letters (Q, Y) from the challenge because they don't have much to do, even with all the packs. No cheat codes that help you move through your objectives faster. Advantages from standard game play that might "feel cheaty" subjectively are fine as long as they're not prohibited by one of the following rules. No rules about aging. No rules governing non-heirs. Just because one generation has something as an objective, doesn’t mean that other generations can’t do it for fun/convenience. Personality Traits: If you don’t have at least three traits in the assigned letter, you have to randomize the rest. No self-discovery traits starting with a different letter. Naming: Each heir's name, and that of any pets they have, must begin with their letter. Likes and Dislikes: The heir can only have the likes/dislikes assigned to their generation. Color preferences are assigned when they age up to Child. From that point forward, all the heir's outfits will reflect their color preferences. If you decorate a space for them, you must consider their color preferences. Fashion and interior design preferences are assigned when they age up to teen (if you have those packs). From that point forward, all their outfits and decorated spaces will reflect their style preferences. Lot Traits and Challenges: The heir must have all of their assigned lot challenges equipped in all of their designated residences. If the heir has three assigned lot traits or less, they also must be assigned. If the heir has four or more lot traits, they have to change up which three are in play. Aspiration Rewards: The heir must purchase all of their required rewards from the Reward Store before they can purchase any optional rewards. Consumable rewards (e.g. confident potion) can be purchased earlier, and then used later. Transitional Bonus Trait: The heir's transitional aspiration (the one that decides the bonus trait) has to be an aspiration from their generation, unless they don't one available at that age. Clubs: Some generations have designated clubs they are supposed to join. If the club does not exist in that save during that generation (either it died out or it hasn't been generated yet), ignore that objective. At the start of the challenge, the Gen 1 "founder" will be a toddler, so you will need to give them at least one parent.
