Sims = Simulation?
I don't know how they "programmers'" mind works, but I'd say THEY need some work! MOST of my Sim time is spent building because, without cheats, it's a pain in the rump to just play! I know it's not "real life" and it's just a game, but shouldn't games be enjoyable and not frustrating???? In all these years, you can't tell me they haven't gotten enough complaints about certain features that they just ignored? For example... I spent enough time building and decided to play for awhile. I'm over it... So over it. My dogs had puppies. No big deal. They're absolutely adorable. Since there are only 2, I decided to keep them. I also have an infant and a baby on the way. With the dogs, alone, I can't keep up!!! EVERY SINGLE TIME I bathe a dog, another gets skunk sprayed. EVERY TIME I take a dog to the vet, another gets squirrel bitten! Guys! This is Sims! Short for SIMULATION! What about those 2 event simulates REAL LIFE??? Getting sprayed or bitten ONCE IN AWHILE... Sure... I can deal with that. BUT ALL THE TIME???? And as much as I want to stay away from mods or cheats, I can't. It's things like this that FORCE people, like me, to go on the hunt for mods and cheats! And don't get me started on the time! Why isn't there a setting to allow us to change how fast time goes? What I mean is... because time goes by so fast, on top of constantly bathing and taking my dogs to the vet, I am always hungry, or I need to pee, or I need a shower, and my babies... Constantly hungry, peeing or dirty! It's no wonder the gallery is full of so much "crap". People get tired of trying to keep up with just playing that they give up and start building. LOL Allowing us to adjust the time rate would help so much. In the time it takes to care for pets, children or adults, HOURS fly by! Let us choose to SLOW IT DOWN! PLEASE!ImBeffy2 hours agoNewcomer34Views1like2CommentsChange comfort and environment level
Would be great if we can change the comfort/environment level of furniture. I'm forced to use items that I don't really like so my sims will stop complaining with their aching backs. Some of the lower priced with lower comfort/environment level items suit my taste better than the more expensive ones. Like, can we have a regular and premium version of items?eibashere2 hours agoSeasoned Novice39Views7likes4CommentsBand Instruments
I love your game! I love your game because I can make a character! As much as I love your game I think I know a way to make it better. The way is to add more instruments like drums, flute and clarinet but the reason why I want more instruments is because I want to make a band in the Sims. Thank for listening to my thoughts and considering them. Sincerely, A Second Generation Simmer Age:10NarwhalDementia8 hours agoSeasoned Newcomer33Views4likes3CommentsSchool pack ideas
We have a school pack based on teenagers called "High School Years" and we kind of have a school for adult called "Discover University" but i want other versions aswell and one of them i made a topic based on little kids Here's the link: can we have a school pack based on children? | EA Forums - 11172051 I admit a few of them are already in one of the packs so these things with a ✅️ doesn't count (i created this topic by the time "High School Years" almost came out so i thought why not based on children?) i think a pack called "Elementary School Years" match with my ideas i think they should come with a british based world with this pack idea but i also want other school versions like maybe pre-teens that needs to get added and call it like "Middle School Years?" (we need a category between a child and a teen not only because of the school part but also because teens looks a lot like adults so it has a big age differences which is NOT realistic to me) Boarding school (can't think of any other than school uniforms and sleeping in a certain world only, i think it will be quite similair to "Discover University" you can't enter a house unless you sign up for it) The school we had in "The Sims 2" (basegame if not mistaken) you need to get an A+ to enter this type of school and you need to wear an uniform in this type of school and just like "The Sims 2" it should be rabbit holes (a bit similair to boarding school but different and smaller) i want a home schooling version since those exist and it became a popular thing during lockdown (i do think it should be an Game Pack instead of an Expansion Pack) and also it can be both for little kids and teens (and if pre-teens get added they should count this one too...infact pre-teens should be basegame just like infants and toddlers) edit: i just made homeschool pack idea in this link here home schooling game pack idea | EA Forums - 12109479 i also want some kind of a preschool for toddlers but unlike little kids (possibly preteen) and teenagers it should be optional for toddlers so it's not mandatory, i want the phone and/or computer option the parents can register the toddlers for preschool so toddlers can be with other toddlers from their age and have more existing skills options so they can learn (possibly a bit) faster i just made a toddlers pack idea and preschool is one of them on my list: can we have a toddler based pack? | EA Forums - 12111749 All these needs to come as a world if they're going to add this as an active school like "High School Years" did (well minus home schooling of course because you can do that in each sims worlds and same with a school we had in The Sims 2 with the uniform, i think both of them should be in a Game Pack WITHOUT a world) what do you think about school ideas on the packs?57Views1like0Commentscan we have a toddler based pack?
i just have a thought on this, i still haven't figured everything out but i don't think the team have done this before but for some realistic gameplay i'm thinking about having a toddler based pack (Expansion Pack to be exact) we can have a world which is centered on toddlers, we should have more toddlers stuff, more options for an already existing skills so they can learn things a little faster, more activities to do for toddlers little kids can have a bit more interractions with toddlers, even more realistic gameplay a small amusement park for toddlers more toys for toddlers (including classic things before tablets were a thing) like more stuffed animals for examble have games options that's based on toddlers, some games can be played by like almost each lifestages (except babies and infants) playground that's made for toddlers have a swimmingpool that's made for toddlers with mini watersliders more unique hairs and maybe some should come with some cute items, more toddlers clothes it's not mandatory but the parents (or other caregivers) can register toddlers for preschool by either using the computer or phone so toddlers can hangout with other toddlers from their age and become friends with them more book options for toddlers older lifestages can tell toddlers stories on a book (even little kids so they can learn how to interract with toddlers) daycare career for adult and maybe even for teen sims even if it's a rabbit-hole a new venue type called "toy store" so the parents can buy stuff for toddlers (infants and children are also okay by me though) so toddlers can make a good use of it atleast 1 new personality trait for toddlers called "spoiled brat" i know we have storybook nursery kit based on toddlers and a stuff pack based on toddlers exist but it's so small i want more options for toddlers and an expansion pack called "growing together" is for like each stages i can't think of other things but maybe as for the basegame update they can call not only a certain sim to ask certain sim to hangout with them but also have other household invite them over just like The Sims 2 did for a more realistic gameplay and this time they can include atleast infants and toddlers so the parents can bring them over so other sims can meet infants and/or toddlers and if an another toddler is in the house 2 toddlers meet each other and play with each other in my opinion it should be an expansion pack even if most of the gameplay is focussed on toddlerssailorleontine10 hours agoSeasoned Ace40Views1like0CommentsCustomizable CAS filters...
What I'm thinking is, if I we could make a folder in the mods folder and name it after a CC creator and then link a CAS filter to that folder. Create a folder named, "Trillyke" then create a filter in CAS that is named the same and link the two together. When enable the filter would only show the CC from that folder. Then we could have a filter for each creator. A clothing set can have pieces in different categories, so this would make finding them all eaiser. Also when setting a filter it would be helpful to have an option to apply the filter to all categories instead of having to set the filter for each category.Iggysaurus-Rex11 hours agoRising Vanguard38Views3likes2CommentsNew venues, more business - related content, and new career branches
Now that business and hobbies has been released, I've thought of some suggestions for content updates that could be added to enhance the business experience. 1.) Sim operated market stalls. If your sim is an entrepreneur, there are various ways for them to earn money: listing on plopsy, selling at the flea market, doing freelance work or odd jobs, setting up a food sales table, opening a retail store, or setting up a small business. However, I think we can add even more options. For the time being, sims can place market stalls on their venues and hire vendors to tend them. Some mods have been created to allow sims to tend stalls instead of hiring a vendor. However, I think EA should add portable market stalls that sims can purchase, stock with ingredients, tend, and operate to make money. Some suggestions include: shaved ice cart, balloon animal wagon (utilizes handiness skill), crepe market stall, caricature stall (utilizes painting skill), lemonade stand (child sims can tend), temporary tattoo stall (allows sims to offer henna tattoos and face painting/these will disappear after a few days). Sims can tend the stall and sell items or provide a service. If they stock the stall with ingredients, the crafting cost will be reduced, and they earn more profits. If no ingredients are provided or they run out, regular crafting cost will apply. These portable market stalls will function similarly to the food sales table. This allows entrepreneur sims to have more flexibility. They can run a business from a market stall and later expand to a retail store or small business. They don't have to reply of the flea market or use plopsy if they prefer to stay off the grid. 2.) Refresh to the base game business career and snowy escape salesperson career. The business and salesperson careers always seemed boring to me. Here are my suggestions for a refresh: add traveling salesperson branch to salesperson career. This branch will add a dynamic, semi - active career option. Sims who enter the traveling salesperson branch will be tasked with selling products door to door to NPC households. The sim will receive business emails each day, giving them a list of NPC households to visit. Sims will receive work tasks to visit these household and makes sells by offering them a variety of products. Sims can sell standard company merchandise (a box of random goods which will be mailed to the sim's household each day) or they can sell hand crafted objects made using any crafting station. Sims will receive bonuses for selling all of the company merchandise and may receive a deficit to their salary if there is too much unsold stock left over. Add a manager branch to the business career. This branch will add a dynamic active career experience. Sims who enter the manager branch can become the manager of a nearby community venue or business. They will have the responsibilities of a business owner, without the financial investment of owning, stocking, and staffing the business. 3.) New hobbies. Blacksmithing, glassblowing, stone carving, and sculpting. All of which will allow sims to make new craftables, which will be compatible with get to work and business and hobbies. 4.) New community venues: Carnival, circus, and amusement park. All these venues will provide a variety of new activities and food stalls for sims to enjoy. The carnival will feature clowns, acrobats, jugglers, and carnival food, the circus will feature various animals such as lions and elephants, and the amusement park will feature a teacup, roller coaster, and new arcade games.pandacookiesims12 hours agoSeasoned Veteran18Views0likes0CommentsSims 4 Ocean Exploration expansion pack [Aquariums, scuba diving and houseboats]
Underwater Diving areas There are underwater diving areas that Sims can explore and that are interactive and actually visible to the player. Players can find treasure chests, explore underwater caves or sunken shipwrecks, harvest seaweed and catch fish swimming around. The fish that have been caught can be brought to the surface and exhibited in an aquarium. There is a scuba diving skill. The higher the skill level, the longer a Sim can stay underwater and the less depressurizing time a Sim has. Aquarium There is an aquarium in town that you can fill up with fish and other marine life like starfish or colorful sea slugs. These can be caught while scuba diving. There are giant aquarium tanks that you can stock with fish. There is an aquarium tunnel object that Sims can walk through. Aquariums are a new type of community venue. There are saltwater tanks (with corals and rocks) and freshwater tanks (with kelp and wood branches) Houseboat Houseboats are a new type of home that Sims can live in. Houseboats are editable in Build Mode like a regular lot, except you can't add a basement. Upgrade your houseboat Players can add upgrades to the houseboat at the wharf building. Houseboat upgrades include… Ladder for ocean swimming Fishing net to catch fish Custom anchor styles Headlights for the night Faster houseboat speed Whale watching There are whales jumping out of the ocean that you can go watch with your houseboat. You can offer paid whale watching tours or diving tours with your houseboat by clicking on the tourist information center. Driftwood furniture Collect driftwood at the beach and craft new driftwood furniture using the woodworking table from base game and Handiness skill. Expanded mermaids Mermaids should get their own skill tree like all other occults and more scary looking like Sirens. Sirens could also be a new type of occult. To expand Mermaids they should get… Aquatic ears New mermaid tails Seaweed hair Fish scale skin tone that makes the whole body have fish scales Barnacles on body Sims can become a Siren by getting bitten by a Siren. (Like vampires) Mermaids/ Sirens can drink blood like vampires, but don‘t need to More fish-like appearance Fish-like eyes Freezing abilities Stronger manipulation powers The Siren/ Mermaid skill tree Australian world The town is inspired by Australian beach towns like Airlie Beach in Australia. It consists of two marinas where houseboats are located. New collections Sea slugs: Verco's nudibranch Black-margined sea slug Leaf sea slug Clown nudibranch Orange side-gilled slug Chromodoris nudibranch Starfish: Cushion starfish Eleven-armed sea star Reef starfish Firebrick starfish Seven-armed starfish Blue spiny starfish New fishes Harvest edible seaweed Seaweed grows underwater and you can harvest it and eat it.Simsfan33312 hours agoRising Adventurer581Views20likes16Commentshome schooling game pack idea
i had some school ideas awhile back in this link School pack ideas | EA Forums - 12076667 and home schooling your kids is one of them on the list i know it's mentioned by others but what if we have a option to home school the kids? children and teenagers and if preteens get added (never say never) i want a home schooling options for preteens too adult sims can do a freelancer career to become a teacher to its own child/children and just like with some events the list pops up you need to fullfill maybe a sim with a freelancer career can visit other household to give others an advice how to home school their kids? or like maybe answer the mail on a computer with the freelancer category? (just a thought) i can understand if your sim can't do that during work but maybe after work if you need to accomplish the freelancer career job just like most of the (rather normal) career jobs? some items that can be usefull for children and teens (and possibly preteens if this lifestage gets added) it needs atleast 1 aspiration and maybe possibly in the family category? adult sims and/or parents can have teachers skills so they get more experiences how they can teach their kids better with its lessons (even in sims life feedbacks are more then welcome, maybe as a interraction adult sims can ask other sims for feedbacks how to become a better teacher to their kid(s) at home) before home schooling the kids, it should be optional on the phone and the question pops up if you're so sure you want your kids to home school them so it has 2 options to answer "yes or no" if the answer is yes, your kid(s) are officially home schooled, it does needs to do homework just like non-home schooling kids do though write an essay during lessons Having homeschool category options on a computer for teenagers and little kids (and maybe preteens if it ever get added) and video games you can actually learn from awhile back, 2 years ago if not mistaken i created a pack idea based on little kids, you should take a look at it can we have a school pack based on children? | EA Forums - 11172051 but it's in a seperate pack and more like an Expansion Pack home schooling should be in a game pack rather than an Expansion Pack and a new world isn't necessary on this one since in my opinion you can home school your kids in each worlds i don't have any more ideas, maybe a notebook home schooling kids can write in for some lessons? other than that i don't have any ideas the reason i don't mention most things that could match with little kids is because most of the things got mentioned in my another post that's linked in here but do tell me if i miss anything that match with my pack ideas because i have so little ideas based on a home schooling pack ideas i came up with this idea because someone once mentioned to me about having home schooling pack or basegame update and i remembered 5 years ago when we had a lockdown because of covid children and teens were forced to be homeschooled so i was like "why not making a pack about being home schooled?" so here i am having ideas about a home schooling pack109Views1like0CommentsIs this just how the gallery is now?
Are the remaining problems with the gallery ever going to be fixed, or do we just have to find a way live with how it is now? Since last June, I've been avoiding the gallery unless I really need something specific that I can't create myself because it's so hard to use without favorites, following, the newsfeed, etc. But if this is just how it's going to be forever, I might as well start figuring out some workarounds that I can use going forward.PandoraTO15 hours agoSeasoned Ace809Views4likes10CommentsPack Suggestion: Homeschool Expansion
We got a High School expansion pack and that was fun, but I feel like there was a missed opportunity to create an online school or home school option. If I had to describe my real life aspiration in Sims terms it would be to Marry my Soul Mate (Done), Have Children (Done), and Homeschool our children (in progress). When I create my Sim Family, the aspect that is sorely lacking is the ability to homeschool the children. It feels like a letdown to send them to school each day in the Sims. Here is my suggestion: On the phone, an adult could phone the school board (or Department of Education) and register a child or teen as a home school student. The child or teen then receives assignments similar to those received by adult sims when they have a "work from home" job. Completing those tasks/assignments results in grades increasing. Some of the assignments could be to Attend an online class on a specific topic. Practice skills Visit a museum or art gallery Visit a library Complete school projects Paint/Draw/Do crafts Write an essay Earn X amount of money at a bakesale Visit a park Make a friend etc. There are so many items that can be added to the game: Blackboard/whiteboard that adult sims can use to tutor their children in a group. Notice board to display artwork Notebooks (similar to the diary and homework books) Desks Bookcases Posters Alarm Clocks Oversized wall clock Globe (with an interaction that allows them to develop social / mental skill) Tablet that allows online schooling Road mat / Railway play table etc. New after school activities can be added too: Karate Ballet / Dance Soccer Practice etc. The gameplay options would expand and have a big impact on other expansion packs. The more sinister gamers could create "cult-like" settings. The gamers who value family gameplay will have more to do as a family. Then there are those with Horse Ranches and Country Living who can have their children home all day to help with farm chores. I'd love to hear what other Sim gamers would include in a Homeschool Pack. What other "Assignments" could be added? What other build mode things should be included? What interactions on the build mode items? What after school activities would you like? How could Homeschooling impact other expansion packs? Leave a comment below! [SalixCat - Modified thread title for clarity]2KViews7likes9CommentsSweet Allure not so sweet. Just recycled CAS items from other packs
HOW is this acceptable? I know this creator rehashes and re-does this on their website/patreon, but I never thought you'd even allow something like this to let a creator frankenmesh clothing. It's not enough we have this happen in packs with objects and other CAS items, but now it's acceptable with creator packs? A CAS focused kit that one thinks is bringing some new and unique pieces but in reality they don't. Players paying real money for this official content when they can get this for free from the same CC creator that frankenmesh clothing with being a patreon or not. There is such a huge skill gap in comparison to other creators that make their own items. Examples? Dream home decorator top. Even the textures themselves are the same. Sleeves for the top is also from Crystal Creations that another user pointed out for me. Sweet Allure shirt on the left with the base game cardigan on the right and below Perfect Patio stuff shirt. Sweet allure high-waisted pants and Love Struck jeans. It's all so blatantly obvious in a in your face way it's such so disappointing. Is ANYTHING in this pack even original? Would not have had bought this otherwise. It's not acceptable for players to be getting this. How can I trust buying anything from this company anymore? It's literally gotten to a breaking point where these shady practices just don't fly. Indefinitely not buying anything anymore until this is rectified. Do better with this.LadyKyn16 hours agoSeasoned Ace470Views3likes18CommentsWho would you like the CC KIT to be made by?

I posted this on another forum and thought I'd add it here as well. :) :) So I was sleeping one day and I just started thinking about cars in the Sims 4 and coming up with ideas about how they would work (while half asleep I should mention). Anyway, I decided to share my thoughts. Let me know what you think and also any ideas you have. Just a warning, this is quite long. Cars would work very similarly to how they work in the Sims 2. You would need a driveway to be able to place the cars (obviously) and a sim would get in the car which would then back into the street or teleport into the street & drive away. Travelling When you want to go somewhere, you can either use the phone like you do normally, or you can click on your car and the same options would come up as you have when you use the phone. However, there would be some extra options with the car such as: Go for a drive - sims would disappear off the lot for a few hours and come back in a good mood with their needs maxed. Drive to work - sims would get in the car and drive off the lot to go to work. Take to school - sims can drive their kids to school (sims get an increase in relationships) Woohoo - pretty self explanatory ;) ;) Work on - sims with handiness skills can work on their cars (e.g. check tires, check oil, customize etc) although lower handiness skills result in terrible consequences that may need to be fixed by a real professional. Service - alternatively, sims can take their cars to be serviced/fixed at a garage. Wash - cars will get dirty over time and will need to be washed. There are two options with this: Sims can wash their cars at a car wash (they get in the car and disappear for a while, returning with a clean car - and fewer simoleons). Sims can wash the car themselves (or get their kids to do it as punishment) Friends/household members could join in and it will give an increase in relationships. Gameplay Options Having cars in the game could also be a chance to bring back a much needed aspect from the Sims 3 - grocery shopping. Not everyone wants or likes to forage for ingredients.There could be an option to go grocery shopping when you click on the car. The sim gets in the car and disappears for a while. As in the Sims 3, a menu will appear listing all the food/houshold items available to purchase from the grocery store. You sim then returns with these in their inventory and an option to put away groceries will become available. Having cars in the game could also be a way to bring back the danger aspect. Cars like in the Sims 2 will need alarms or they can be stolen by robbers. Cars could also catch fire or explode if someone with no handiness skill tries to fix or customize them - resulting in the need for firefighters to come and put the blaze out - and also issue your sims a large fine for public endangerment. Events/Venues Lot venues such as a drive in movie theater could be added. Also, sims could host tailgate parties to celebrate sporting events (this would be really fun for when University comes along). Logistics - How it would work in-game Sims require a driveway before they can place a car. For obvious reasons sims living in San Myshuno cannot have cars. When a sim uses the car, they arrive at their destination the same way they would if they had used the phone. However, there will be a notification stating that money has been deducted from their funds for parking (nothing much maybe 10 or 20 simoleons). Unlike the Sims 3, the car won't be in the sim's inventory. Instead, there will be a set of car keys in the sim's inventory which you can click on and it will give the option to drive home/drive home with... or travel someplace else. Cars will also have their own inventories where you can place objects. Having a car will also unfortunately mean higher bills (insurance, gas/petrol etc.) Pets Pets could take a drive with their owners (and the relationship is increased) Cats could curl up and sleep/nap on the hood or roof of cars Pets could play in the suds while their owners wash the car Seasons When we do get Seasons, the weather would also affect your car (e.g. after heavy snow, you would have to shovel your driveway in order to use your car or again, get your kids to do it). Careers Along with cars, there would be a few careers to go with them such as: Mechanic (active career) Driving Instructor (rabbit hole career) Automotive Designer (rabbit hole/work from home) Car Salesman (rabbit hole) Dealership Owner (business) Kids/Teens Kids could get in the cars and pretend to drive They could help their parents wash the cars Toddlers will need car seats. You can simply buy a car seat in buy mode then place it in the car's inventory. Of course parents can ignore this but doing so creates an opportunity for a random chance card where the parents will be stopped by the police and issued a hefty fine. Sims (both parents & toddlers) will get a positive moodlet (safe driving) from having a car seat. Also, if you have Parenthood - a car seat will boost a toddler & child's responsibility, as children often imitate their parents' behaviour both good and bad. Teenagers need to be taught to drive. Like in the Sims 3, an adult could teach a teen to drive. They would both get in the car and disappear for a few hours. There would also be chance cards that would affect whether the experience is a negative or a positive one. Negative experience would affect the relationship as well as the teenager's driving skill progression. Teens without a permit could also sneak behind their parents' backs and go for a joy ride. They could do it alone or invite a friend or friends along. Again, they would get in the car and drive off the lot and disappear for a few hours. However, there would be chance cards that would affect whether it is sucessful or not (e.g. one negative outcome would be that they get pulled over by the police and get brought home in a police car). Last but not least - The Fixer Upper Car would return and sims could work on it either alone or they could do it with friends/kids ect. Also, the fixer upper car would come in a few different models like: a muscle car a cadillac a classic car a sloppy jalopy - which a teen could fix up and use as their first car once they get their license13KViews1like61CommentsHandiness and Decades Expansion Pack
I think it would be a great idea to add other things to be handy with, like handy sims can fix, build, or renew cars, and doing so builds the handiness skill. I also think that there should be like a sort of old fashioned expansion pack, maybe like a decades sort of thing where you get a little bit of the 60s-80s fashionwear and decor.freehighfives6732 days agoSeasoned Newcomer13Views2likes0CommentsYou Know There's a Serious Problem . . .
. . . with the newborns being tethered to the bassinet. Ordinarily, it's okay for day to day. They do age up quickly to infant. However, I just had a kitchen fire during a party in my game. While the adults were great at gathering up the four toddlers and getting them outside to safety. The wee newborn was stuck in the bassinet, crying buckets and there simply was no way to get them out of the house. Since the game seems to be in love with fire, IE it occurs more frequently than I would like, we need a better solution to this problem. It would destroy me, were a newborn lost to a fire. I know, I know, newborns cannot be killed. However, isn't there some way you could have an option for an adult to remove the baby from the bassinet, flee outside with it and then replace them into the bassinet when all is safe? Maybe have a menu interaction: In Case of Fire press here. I know it's a tad tongue-in-cheek but so is this game overall. Thank you for hearing me out on this.27Views1like0Comments
