Back Carrier
I think more attention needs to be put into the back carrier option. Every time I put a child in a back carrier the sim does it and then puts them back on the ground. The new trait is called Fire Aware, when a Sim has this trait, it unlocks a few new actions, if Sims are idle, the Fire Aware Sim will be able to use the action Educate on fire safety, this will gather all Sims that are available to a central location, preferably the Living Room, the Sim who used the action will stand in front of the Sims that are gathered and will automatically lecture them on fire safety this will automatically reduce the chances of a fire spawning regardless of a Sims cooking level this will not stop a fire from spawning, merely reducing its chances. This Sim is more likely to lead the others to safety. Bug fix: There is a certain bug with appliances or any electronic or plumbing related item where if it is marked as unbreakable and an angry gnome or lot challenge tries to break it, the item will still break; but since it is marked as unbreakable you cannot actually repair the item, and if you attempt to repair it, you will be forced into an infinite repair loop.12Views0likes0CommentsSims 4: Please add more life stages
I would love to add 4 more life stages (in capital letters): Newborn - Infant - Toddler - PRESCHOOLER - Child - TWEEN - Teen - Young Adult - Adult - MIDDLE AGED - Elder - OLD (or a better name for someone who is older than elder) I feel the jumps from toddler to child and from child to teenager are too big. We have gotten more baby ages (that I love) that it only seems fitting we get a couple more child ages. I would also like two more adult ages: ”Middle aged” and ”Old”. Because you are an Adult for a very long time, and we already have ”Midlife crisis” in the game. The Middle aged Sim could just have more wrinkles than Adult. I really want the ”Old” age because I want to be able to make great grandparents as well. Love making big families with large family trees. And it seems silly that the Elder Sim has some backpain and then it’s time to die. The Old Sim should need a cane, walker or wheelchair. And have more health issues than Elder, that older people usually get. They get more confused, have memory loss, have lesser hearing (the Sims need to speak louder/clearer to them) and eye sight (you can help by reading for them for example). These life stages could be introduced via Exapansion Packs. I am suggesting an elementary school where the child can sit at his desk or bother the student next to him, and Sims 4 can be either the teacher, the principal, or the child. The child can go on field trips with permission from the parents. The principal makes a schedule for field trips. "Grab a serving" should be "eat a serving"
"Grab a serving" and "pick up a serving" are synonymous. "Grab a serving" should be changed to "eat a serving". Or, heck, even "grab and eat a serving". This weird phrasing is the most minor complaint, so incredibly trivial, but it irritates me every time I ask my sim to eat something! I have been playing Sims 4 for about 8 years now and have always wished that the instruments had different tones and sounds. For example, all the guitars have an acoustic sound even though they look electric. The same goes for the pianos; they all sound the same. I just think it would be so much more immersive and fun if they had different sounds! Also, an expanded playable song list would be cool, too. I have had musician sims in the past and always wished there was more incentive to collect the different instruments. Not to mention the option for sims to play together or create bands! I would be over the moon to buy a game pack or expansion pack that added those features. Though the different sounds for the instruments should be in the base game. Side note, more instruments would also be amazing! Maybe brass instruments (trumpet, trombone, etc.), wind instruments (flute, claranet), more string instruments (harp, cello, etc.) , and percussion instruments (drums, bongos, etc.) just to name a few! I'm once again sending this out there in the world. I'm ready to petition and pitch this. Those who have multiple packs stacked up will get where I'm coming from. Due to the sheer amount of these packs such as Cottage Living, Snowy Escape, High School Years, Life & Death, and City Living...and maybe one or two I missed. I get notifications are cool to prompt to go to festivals, but not with all gameplays. Right now, I'm working to the top in the royalty chain with a nosy brother, and an unexpected jealous sister who will soon be outcast from the dynasty. I'd like to add that was a fun unexpected note the game slid in, she was becoming jealous of her sisters leadership...but,,,no room for that, so no tainted blood. Toodles... Through my mental story that the game aided it to become, what really breaks the fun out of it is all the notifications for these festivals and events. Really. No, I don't want to go to The Festival of Snow. No, I don't want to go to Afterlife Anonymous, No I don't want to go to Prom because my sim is a young adult. Don't get me started on the football one. It scares the hell out of me when the music plays. With all the packs that are now laid out, not every single gameplay I want to focus on these festivals. My main sim woman doesn't have kids so no to all youth festivals. I can't even see any of my Dynasty Sims touching dirt or an animal for Cottage Living. The sounds and notifications are ridiculous and stack up my notification wall alone when it comes every 5 minutes. If EA wants to update something, then update the calendar...pronto. Allow players to turn off notifications to their choosing such as how we can isolate Fae & werewolves in their designated world. (an update with vampires being designated to their world would be nice to.) Allow us to choose which ones we want or don't want on the calendar. Or...allow players to turn off notifications all together. It is such a break in the actual fun sometimes, where the festivals become such an annoyance that I have to turn off the game. I understand there is a mod that will remove everything from the calendar and add when you want too, frankly I have tried it and am very close to kicking it back into my mods folder because right now I don't want to attend any festivals. I hope other players agree, and I hope EA can get to the core of this to give players freedom to play how they want instead of placing a chokehold on these notifications to attend festivals. Cupids Corner is another. Sometimes the first thing I do in a save file when I don't want to use the social media is deactivate Social Bunny & Cupids Corner. Which that one is fine. Like with my Occult save file, I tend to use the phone as less as possible aside from travelling and/or ordering food. At the moment, Social Bunny is good to raise up friendships with multiple sims without having to visit them to get my dynasty girl in with the dynasties...errr.....become 'friends'.... 😇 The calendar needs to be reworked, or something has to be done with all these festivals. I, alone am going to go absolutely insane. Ever since I heard about the new Mystical Trait—I was so excited to use with my favourite trait Macabre. I just think for a dark fairy or dark spellcaster it be an great complimentary combo. But you "conflicting traits" blocked them. To me the affinity of and to the occults and the affinity of death is ideal for the darker occults, and sims. Edit: just noticed Disruptive can't be Macabre either, like wut? Edit, edit: I decided to fix/tweak the tune files in the meantime. If you are interested (the mod is here) I saw no issues when initially testing, as it is just file tuning, but be aware as modding and CC may have adverse effects to your game and I am just an amateur modder. Edit, edit, edit: Looks like this is also reddit discussion worthy, with confusion and disappointment to why these aren't compatible. First off the addition of a Dietary Panel under CAS. Dietary/Body Specifics: Move from Regular Traits to Dietary Traits: Vegetarian/Lactose Intolerant/etc. Add more Dietary Traits like Pescatarian, Carnivore, etc. Add Likes/Dislikes to Cuisine Types Add Favourite Food Likes/dislikes Coffee/Tea/Mixology Drinks/Nectar/etc. Make Utensil Preference Selected here (instead of selecting Sim but make it available to change at any time similar to likes/dislikes) Toggle Option to not gain weight from eating/food. Toggle Option to not gain muscle from working out. Toggle Sim will not autonomously do intense based working out like weights/do push ups/jog/etc. (but exclude light working out like swimming/yoga/etc.) Edit (Mar 19, 2026 Activity Panel): Activity Panel. I was also toying with the idea of Active Type(s), and possibly and activity panel. Where you can choose: how active your Sim is, and how your Sim is active. This can also help with activity autonomy, a Sim will prioritize their preference Level for autonomy, if those activities are not around they will do the levels below. But will not autonomously do activities above their preference. Lazy: Self explanatory. Low Impact Focused: Swimming, Snorkeling, Scuba Diving Low Impact and Strength Training Focused: Yoga, Free Weights, Kayaking Medium Impact and Strength Training Focused: Workout Machine, TV Workout, Cycling, Archery, Punching Bag, Pushups High Impact and Strength Training Focused: Rock Climbing, Spearfishing Specializing (optional). If you have a Sport Focused Sim they will autonomously do sports over working out and other fitness skills, if Strength Training Focused they will do muscle build activity over other working out and other fitness skills. Self Care Focused... etc. Self Care Focused: Wellness, Meditation (both Spa Day and EbN versions), making smoothies, eating healthy, etc. Sports Activity Focused: Archery, Basketball, Soccer, Football, Snowboarding, Skiing, Skating, Roller Skating Strength Training Focused (Muscle Building Focused): Workout Machine, Punching Bag (Commando Training) And in addition to the Identity Panel: Dominant/Submissive/Switch(both) for romance and pairing animation. Too often my submissive partner is taking the dominant position for IMHO in non-indicating dominant animation. Such as Flutter Kiss/Cocoon Hug (Critter Hunter trait), which I personally feel she should be able to do as the submissive position (as they are a bit girly girl interactions). But I understand some animations make sense such as Passionate Kiss where they dip their partner as the initiator (but less obvious romantic interactions, I'd like the non-dominant placement of hands/arms for her). I hope no one takes offence to this, but IMHO it is as identifying as gender, and sexual preference. And I often wish my main would be less of the initiator when doing interactions such as Flutter Kiss, or sleeping in her partner's arms instead of him in hers. This could also help for Waltzing/Dancing pairing. Dom/Sub for leading—so pairing is not by gender or random. Also, it might help if the dominant had more autonomy of being the romance initiator (if possible). At this time, I made my one Sim the dominant by being a Romantic Sim, having (via cheating) Hungry for Love Lifestyle, wearing flirty jewelry, and my submissive is Romantically Reserved (and not wearing flirty jewelry).187Views6likes5CommentsSpouse Noble Rival
Notes: This is from the new Royalty & Legacy Pack. I first posted this in the Gameplay Issues, becuse I thought it might be something wrong on my end. Now I think it is a glitch/bug. Post 1: I made a married couple both in the Noble career. The wife was promoted to Queen and the husband automatically received the title King. But now the husband's work panel shows his wife as a "Noble Rival is an adversary at court who blocks the path to promotion." Obviously this doesn't work with my story. The husband is King because his wife is Queen. I don't know how to fix this and it is messing up my play; it's also causing bad buffs between them and it's hurting their relationship (even though they were 100% friendly & romantic before the promotion). They are NOT rivals. They are on the same team! Any suggestions on how to fix this? Or is this something EA has to fix? Married sims should have some option to NOT be rivals in the noble career. Can we have some option to choose who is or isn't a rival? Post 2: Some more information on this still unresolved issue. I noticed that on the pop-up info on noble rival "Marriage" is one of the solutions. Since I married my sims in CAS when creating them, I thought maybe they need an actual wedding ceremony (I do own Wedding Stories). So I changed them in CAS to Partners. I had the man propse, she accepted, and I held a simple wedding ceremony where they excahnged vows. I had hoped this would effect a change and they wouldn't be rivals anymore. But alas, it didn't change the Rival status. The man's title WAS changed however, when he was only the partner and engaged, his title matched where he is in the noble career. Once they made their vows in the wedding ceremony, his title was changed back to King. I would appreciate some feedback from the EA team. I am pretty sure this is NOT what is supposed to happen. If Marriage is supposed to resolve the Rival status, that's a pretty huge glitch that it doesn't work. It is breaking a vital part of the story in the game mechanics for the Royalty & Legacy Pack. Post 3: In my current household I have 4 out of 6 sims in the Noble Career. Two of them are low to medium in the Noble career. I have tried demoting and promoting the husband to different levels of the Noble career (using MCCC), and in all of them his wife is still the rival. Oddly enough, the other household members (who are relatives and in the same dyansty under the Queen's Headship over this dyanasty), neither of them see her as a rival, which is odd to me. You'd think the brother & nephew would see the Queen as a Rival; and the Husband, who has title King becasue of his marriage to her, would not see his wife as a Rival. I am thinking this must be a glitch. Even after trying a Wedding Ceremony between them the Rival status did not change. Also a note, the wife/Queen does not see her husband as a Rival. Only the husband/King sees his wife as a Rival. I think that's becasue she is higher ranked than him in the Noble career, and only one person can be in the Level 10 Monarch role. It still doesn't make sense for the King to see his wife as a Rival. (At least the way I am trying to play. Maybe others enjoy their Sims' marriages fraught with rivalry, lol.) I am still hoping there will be some update to fix this issue. An option to to check/uncheck for Spouses/Patners are Never Rivals in the Noble Career. I have my starting notes, but feel free to add your own. Also, note a concept of making some pack traits, cross-pack traits so you can get from other packs as well. Generally, I think all older traits could use a refresh/update—as many of the newer traits like Lovestruck and newer have some really great traits. I also think that the new default trait should be 6 slots. I know people usually ask for 5, and that there is a mod for 5, and that GRO allows up to 5. But in CAS up to 6, because weird enough I think it looks cleaner/balanced in the Simology panel, and dynasty panel as they both as set up for 2-3 columns. As mentioned in the comments Vegetarian, Lactose Intolerant, etc. should be in a separate dietary panel. As well as likes/dislikes tab for cuisine types. Also, add the Sim Characteristic Mysterious, as with occult Sims and traits like Macabre/Mystical are Mysterious Ideals, also if Medium skill and Tarot could be likes/dislikes, and Thanatology skill (they could be Mysterious). For both likes/dislikes and turn ons/offs. I'm genuinely excited by what has been done so far — especially the significant free base game update for The Sims 4. In addition, I believe there should also be facial wrinkles available for every region of the cheeks. Main features of the pack: Introduction of new deities and religious figures from various traditions: Jesus, God, Buddha, Allah, and other iconic figures. New sacred locations: churches, temples, and spiritual spaces for Sims to visit. Two new occult Sims: the Angel and the Little Devil, with unique careers and powers: The Angel can heal Sims, cure diseases, make Sims feel better, bring ghosts back to life, help plants grow or revive dead plants, and carry emotional burdens to improve other Sims’ well-being. The Little Devil has opposite powers, creating chaos, harming Sims, or negatively influencing them. Gradual evolution: the Angel can become divine figures like Jesus, while the Little Devil can evolve into a powerful entity like Satan. New traits related to spirituality, morality, and ethical behavior, compatible with the reputation system in Get Famous (good vs evil). Opportunities for religious careers: become priests, spiritual leaders, or divine figures. New religious holidays, such as Easter, integrated with the Seasons pack. Integration with Life and Death: deceased Sims can be guided or welcomed by divine figures.
