Sims 4 keeps saying file is corrupt
I am unable to load my game after the last update as it keeps popping up with the attached message. I cannot use any of my mods even though they have been updated and I am very confused as to what is happening. I have removed all my mod folders, reset my laptop, reinstalled the sims 4, repaired the game countless times but it still will not work. Can someone please help me
Game crashing after recent update
My game has not stopped crashing since the most recent update, it is completely unplayable. I saw some people in the PC forum complaining about the same thing. I've done every trick and tip (and yes, I do have CC and mods installed- only one script mod, but a lot of CC and I've done all the troubleshooting there), but the problem persists. What should I do next?
EA app won't launch Sims 4
I am a MacBook user, and have never had any issues playing the Sims 4 through the EA app. Today I updated it then loaded up the game and it was fine. I then opened up and closed the game a few times, as I was testing out OBS's screen record feature. After I connected my macbook to my second screen (again never had any issues with this) and opened the sims 4 on the second screen and played around with the display/resolution settings in the Sims 4. I then quit the game and when I tried to reopen shortly after it would not work. Every time I launch the sims on the EA app, the sims 4 app icon pops up at the bottom as normal but then instantly closes and the EA app pops back up on the screen. There are no messages or errors that come up. I have literally tried EVERYTHING including... Removing my mods folder Deleting cache Repairing the sims and expansions in the EA app Restarting the EA app App recovery on the EA app Making sure both EA app and Sims 4 have permissions on my mac to the full disk/documents Closing all EA applications through activity manager And NOTHING has worked! I feel like i have tried every single suggestion online. Please help! I don't know what changed in a matter of minutes.Endless loading screen
So I've just bought a brand new Macbook PRO with M5 Pro chip (Mac OS Tahoe 26.6). I've downloaded The Sims 4 + bought the Seasons expansion pack. I honestly didn't even test the game before adding CC (from Curse Forge). After playing for some time I tried going to Manage worlds and editing my household from there and that's where I realized that I have some problems. The game was stuck on endless loading screen, so I had to force quit it. Since then I've tried everything the internet suggested: Deleting CC and slowly putting it back Completely deleting CC's Deleting Mods folder + localthumb.package and other recommended folders Deleting the original The Sims 4 folder so that the game creates a new one Playing in widowed mode Turning off laptop mode Completely deleting and reinstalling the game The game doesn't even work without CC inside. System: MacBook Air, Apple M5, macOS Tahoe 26.6.1 Install: EA App version of The Sims 4 Issue: When I click Play in the EA App, the app minimizes, the Sims 4 icon briefly appears in the Dock, then disappears, and the EA App reopens. The game never reaches the loading screen or main menu. Relevant details from the crash log (lastCrash.txt attached): - Modded: False - LoadingScreenActiveFlag: 1 (crash occurs during loading) - Architecture: arm64, GPU: Apple M5 - Stack trace shows repeated calls into Metal and AGXMetalG17G Troubleshooting already completed (no change in behavior after any of these): - Restarted the Mac - Removed Mods folder and tested with a completely fresh Mods folder - Repaired the game via EA App - Updated macOS from 26.6 to 26.6.1 - Checked for and confirmed no pending Sims 4 game update - Tried running EA App under Rosetta This matches other reports from Apple Silicon (M3/M4/M5) users on macOS Tahoe describing the same Metal driver crash during the loading screen.Cheat Console Does Not Open on macOS
The cheat console cannot be opened using Control + Shift + C on macOS. The game does not react at all when the shortcut is pressed. This issue appeared after a recent Sims 4 update and has persisted since then. System Information Platform: macOS Mac Model: MacBook Pro (Apple M1) Operating System: macOS Tahoe 26.6 Game Version: 1.126.58.1230 Launcher: EA App Keyboard: Built-in Apple French AZERTY keyboard Expected Result Pressing Control + Shift + C should open the cheat console. Actual Result Nothing happens. There is: no cheat console, no UI animation, no screen flash, no game freeze, no sound, no indication that the shortcut has been detected. The game behaves as if the shortcut was never pressed. I have already ruled out the common causes: Completely reinstalled The Sims 4. Deleted the entire Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4 folder before reinstalling so the game recreated fresh user data. No mods or custom content installed. No third-party keyboard remapping software. No external keyboard. Fullscreen mode. French AZERTY built-in Apple keyboard. Control key works correctly inside the game (for example, Ctrl + drag duplicates objects in Build Mode). Shift key works correctly. Individual keys are detected normally. The issue only affects the Control + Shift + C shortcut.Mods Appearing on game when Mods folder is empty.
Just updated my game, wanted to renew all my mods, Wonderful Whims and MC Command Center. When I launched the game did what I always do, enable script mods, exit the game etc. When I launch the game again, all the MC Command Center Mods show at start up, but also Whicked Whims, which has never been downloaded, decide to start a game and try it out. When I start a save file, I get a notification for Whicked Whims exception. Decide to delete all my mods and just start from the beginning and download them again. My mod folder is now completelty empty as well as my trash can, but at start up it still shows all the mods that were previously on right after the update. The mods in the game are broken, my sim can't go to the bathroom and MC Command Center doesn't even show up. I'm so lost, I have no idea what to do.
Sims 4 is crashing every time I select 'New Game'
I replaced the hard drive on my Macbook, and ever since I reinstalled Sims it will load up as normal but then crash when I select 'New Game.' Any suggestions for things to try would be sooooo appreciated, or even if you just know of another subreddit or forum or website or whatever that I might try! Here are some details: I have a MacBook Pro 2015. Recently I got a new hard drive and battery, and as a result the repair guys re-installed the OS as Sequoia (previously I'd had Monterey as that's the highest my 2015 computer would go). I also did not have any backups and my last hard drive fully died, so all my files and whatnot are brand new. Those are the only changes made to my computer. I am trying to install Sims 4 + 28 expansions/packs. I have included part of the error report that Apple generates after it crashes at the bottom of this. It's too long to include in full, but when I shared the same text with my dad he said "it's a segfault error" - which means nothing to me but maybe something to you. I've tried: - Playing around with the graphics and using lower settings or resolutions. - Deleting the 'Electronic Arts/Sims 4' folder in My Documents, and then repairing Sims in the EA App. I've also tried just one or the other. - Uninstalling Sims and then even the EA App, making sure all documents and files are deleted, and then reinstalling. - Uninstalling Sims, and then only re-installing the base game without any of the other content. I'm experiencing intermittent infinite loading that has made The Sims 4 nearly unplayable on my Mac. The game launches normally, and I can sometimes load into Live Mode, Manage Worlds, or Build Mode. However, even if I can do that, within minutes of playing, one of the loading transitions becomes stuck indefinitely. The plumbob and loading screen keep moving, and the music keeps playing, but the game never finishes loading, so I have to force-quit it. The same transitions might work once or twice and then fail on the next attempt. This has happened when: Going from Live Mode to Manage Worlds Returning from Build Mode on a non-household lot to Manage Worlds Traveling between lots Loading into Live Mode after CAS Reopening a save Mac specifications: 2025 MacBook Air Apple M4 chip 16 GB memory macOS 26.6, build 25G72 I first repaired The Sims 4 through the EA app. Then I let the game generate a completely new Sims 4 folder and tested a brand-new vanilla save and household without adding any of my previous files. I then completely uninstalled The Sims 4, cleared the EA app cache, restarted the Mac, and downloaded the game again from scratch. The problem still occurs with no mods or custom content, a completely fresh Sims 4 folder, brand-new saves and households, every pack deactivated, and only the three base-game worlds available. I have additionally tested the following: A different macOS user profile macOS Safe Mode Fullscreen and Windowed display modes Vertical Sync on and off Lowered graphics settings Laptop Mode Autosave disabled A fully updated version of macOS Adjusted Privacy & Security permissions and restarted Disabled iCloud syncing for Desktop and Documents so the active Sims 4 folder is local Running Apple Diagnostics The game doesn't create a lastException.txt or lastCrash.txt when it becomes stuck. Since the most recent update of sims 4, I have essentially not been able to play. The game will load to the main menu, and sometimes the household will be present, sometimes its not present at all. I select resume. I am able to start building, but after about 2 minutes, everything stops working. I go to save and exit to restart the game, and I am left on the save screen, until I am forced to force quit the game. Any progress that was made is gone, not that there was much to begin with. I've had these issues before, where the game will crash after I have spent hours upon hours building, however it has never been this bad. Where I can't even get 5 minutes into building. No matter what I do. I don't have any custom content, I don’t have any mods. I am using a Macbook pro with an M3 chip. So, it's not the computer. I have tried repairing the game multiple times creating a completely new sims 4 folder, deleting the cache files and changing the graphic settings to help it run faster, restarting my computer, checking for updates, testing without bringing any saves over to the new folder, and absolutely nothing has worked. I literally just got back to playing sims after a few weeks of not playing, because I got a build idea, purchased the new royalty and legacy expansion pack, and now I can't even play it. I don't know when this most recent update was. But I evidently am not the only one who is having so many issues, as when I googled if this was an issue for other players, I am seeing that many other players are having their game crashing on them too, and so far, nothing has been done in I don’t even know how much time. When will a new update come out that will have fixes for this?Can't save game/taking forever to save
Ever since the July 21st update, when I go to save my game, I get stuck on the loading screen and have to restart the game, losing everything I just did. On the rare occasion my game does save, it takes over an hour, and that's after only a couple minutes of playing the game. It could just be the laptop I have not being powerful enough for all my cc, but I didn't have trouble with it before this lastest update. I turned off the new auto save option thinking that was the issue, but I still got stuck on the loading screen. I've honestly been too upset to even play my game since the update. I'm really hoping this problem can be fixed, otherwise my game is practically unplayable.New laptop (MAC), previous packs won't download
I previously purchased and installed several expansion packs on another computer (Horse Ranch, Get Famous, Cats & Dogs, City Living). On my new Mac, these packs show up correctly as owned in Marketplace > My Collection, with a "Not Installed" status, but I'm unable to install them: the "Install" button stays inactive no matter which pack I select. The base game runs fine, it's just these specific packs that won't download. Has anyone dealt with this before? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.Crashing Issue
My game was working normally yesterday (playing offline) and I decided to go ahead and update today to the latest patch. Now, the game will not open at all with a "initialization error at start" message. I have tried removing all mods. Visiting the activity monitor app and removing anything EA or Sims related, and I have tried repairing the game. Nothing works .
