"CG_JohnSalera;50943" wrote: Hi all – I wanted to give an update on Galactic War tuning. Before I get into it, I want to reiterate that the goals of this feature continue to be: Provide a real challenge to players. In other words: it’s meant to be hard! Provide a place in the game where your entire collection can be brought to bear. Potentially every character can help you succeed. Provide a “war of attrition” where health is persisted as you progressed in battles. Provide a place where there’s an ever-evolving set of challenges in terms of which characters / parties / builds can be most effective. (As more characters are released, and as more types of builds are discovered and developed by the players, this will become increasingly true.) As you may know, we made a tuning change to Galactic War on June 15th. There were several goals of that change, and we have been monitoring in-game data and player feedback on the change. While we view that tuning update as generally successful, we were finding that it wasn’t providing enough challenge. On June 29th we made an adjustment to the June 15th tuning to make the last few nodes more challenging. (Note that this was a tweak of the June 15th tuning, and not a roll-back to the prior tuning as some players have been suggesting.) As always, we will continue to monitor the data and player feedback and determine if further tweaks to the tuning are needed. Thanks! https://forums.galaxy-of-heroes.starwars.ea.com/discussion/50943/recent-tweak-to-galactic-war-tuning#latest279KViews1like4409CommentsSEE definitely needs a buff!
So, SEE in my opinion seems to 100% need a buff done too him, its quite ridiculous how bad he is. Palp teams can kill him, Geo teams can kill him, Sep teams can kill him, vader teams can kill him, Imperial Troopers absolutely destroy him, and Kylo can 1 v 5 him. This doesn't feel like a galactic legend at all, specially no where near the power level of Rey and Kylo. Its arguable that even JML who definitely needs some tweaks also, is actually better off than SEE. Sure SEE does massive damage once you get the ultimate out but, that's IF you can get the ultimate out and you definitely need him for offense if you want too use it. When placed on defence, he doesn't get a chance, his entire team get wiped out almost instantly by so so many different teams. Im sure over the next week we'll see even more silly counters come to light. And despite what the videos say, you can not solo GAS with him, myself and 2 other people have tried now multiple times and clones just rip through him, so that video was clearly faked an had their mods removed on the 501st. Again, this is just me voicing my opinion, and im sure it'll trigger many people as what doesnt on the forums but, im thinking maybe give him some leadership defensive bonuses for his team at least and maybe some damage bonuses like Kylo has. Specially considering hes meant to be used with Tanks. And his ability where all Sith recover 50% protection is a bit silly considering Sith rely on Health in the game. Just my two cense on it. Please buff "both" GL's.146KViews1like4384CommentsGrand Arena Megathread
Hi Holotable Heroes, Grand Arena was recently announced in the Road Ahead and we will be posting a ton more information about it in the future. Similar to the Mods 2.0 Megathread, follow this thread for all posts and details related to the Grand Arena What is Grand Arena At the beginning of the Grand Arena Event, you’ll be matched with 7 other players from across the game who have a Galactic Power score very similar to your own. In the first round, you’ll be matched up against a random player from your group to essentially fight a mini-Territory War. You’ll then set up defenses to defend your own territories, as well as attack your opponent's territories in an attempt to overcome their defenses. You’ll earn banners for successfully attacking and defeating an opponent’s territory, as well as defending your own territory. At the end of the battle, whoever has earned the most banners will be the winner. Each round, you’ll be matched with other players who have the same win/loss record as you, and you’ll never fight the same opponent twice in a Grand Arena event. You’ll earn special rewards after each offensive battle you complete, at the end of each of the 3 rounds, and a final set of rewards at the end of the event based on your standing in the 8-player group. DEV POST "CG_SBCrumb;d-238872" wrote: Hi Holotable Heroes, Today we are launching a new piece of content for high level guilds who have mastered the other raids, The Pit Challenge Tier! The Pit: Challenge Tier The Challenge Tier for The Pit raid requires a high level Guild to work closely together in order to complete. While the rewards will help you power up your squads even further, the event is intended to challenge a guild as whole. As a result, it will be very difficult for a player or even a handful of guildmates to complete. Similar to Heroic Raids, Guilds will have 48 hours to complete this event. Since the Challenge Tier is designed to require cooperation, we have opted for a flatter prizing structure to reduce some of the friction in-guild while still acknowledging degrees of participation and success. In short, every player who participates will earn the new Level 8 Relic Amplifier material, Aeromagnifiers. The event is available to all Guilds right away but only Relic 5 characters and up are allowed to participate. The Challenge tier uses a new type of ticket and is a completely separate event in the Guilds tab. Which means Guilds will be able to participate in the Challenge Tier while simming the regular The Pit like before. Launch Cost: 180,000 Tickets Note: Ticket cap for The Pit (Challenge) tickets is 210,000 Tickets. Guilds will receive an initial credit of 210,000 tickets when their Guild Leader logs in for the first time. Below, we’ve highlighted in blue all the mechanical changes compared to the original raid. CHANGES IN BLUE Phase I Changes Phase II Changes Phase III Changes Phase IV Changes Relic 8 The Challenge Tier of The Pit provides a variety of top tier rewards but it also rewards an exclusive item needed for the next level of Relic Amplifiers. Level 8 Relic Amplifiers require 20 each of two new Relic materials. The first material, Impulse Detectors, is created from salvage; the other material, Aeromagnifiers, are unique to the Challenge Rancor Raid. We wanted Relic 8 to initially have a raid-exclusive aspect in order to give Guilds some new goals to work toward and at the same time, reinforce the core gameplay for Guilds in Galaxy of Heroes. Here’s how many Aeromagnifiers you can earn (in addition to other rewards) from completing the Challenge Tier. Note: There is a visual bug that only shows Reward Ranks 1, 2, 6-10, 11-25, 26-40, 41-50. Ranks 3-5 have the same rewards as Rank 2. This event will be live later today. DEV POST UPDATE 07/26/2021 Doja and I spent most of the weekend gathering sentiment and feedback regarding the Road Ahead. Below are some of the most recurring comments we noticed, and hopefully the following responses will help clarify some of the questions and concerns you have. We also appreciate the vast majority of you separating the video format from the news contained within the message. Hopefully we can deliver more videos in the future and work toward expanding the ways we interact with the SWGoH community. Galactic Legends and non-GL counters/interactions: The community has always been excellent at puzzle-solving, theory-crafting, and finding ways to maximize the effectiveness of their rosters. The changes are meant to not only allow for more design space for powerful characters below Galactic Legends, but also to prevent situations in which a non-GL could one-shot or otherwise severely and regularly reduce the effectiveness of a Galactic Legend. As we mentioned in the video, changing characters post launch is a last resort. There needs to be a balance between how consistent a counter is and how powerful the squad they are facing is in comparison. This is not just for squads with GLs, but for any squad that is able to counter another. For a healthy balance to the meta, counters should require a similar amount of resources to the team they can beat, whether that’s mods, gear/relic level, and/or specific units. GLs require a large amount of time and resources to unlock and their place in the meta should reflect the difficulty involved in unlocking them. They are late-game units and it makes sense they would be commensurate in power and effectiveness to their status as late-game roster acquisitions that take a lot of effort to acquire. Difficulty of Events Post-Character Changes: We are reviewing existing Journey Guide events for any unintentional side effects. Our goal is to keep these events around the same level of difficulty as before. Three of the characters had specific updates to their kits to maintain the character’s utility as a high-end unit in other areas of the game, such as PvE events, etc. General Skywalker, for example, had things added to his kit because we wanted to offset the changes and make sure he remained highly effective - especially when leading a full 501st squad - in other areas of the game. Dark Trooper: We noticed some confusion surrounding Dark Trooper and wanted to clarify that DT is not getting any direct changes to its kit. Rather, the changes to Sith Eternal Emperor reduce Dark Trooper’s effectiveness in this matchup and that is why we specifically decided to return resources for Dark Trooper. Relic 9 Timing: Relic 9 is further out and will be coming to the game after the character changes are implemented, not before. We’ll share more details on R9 as it gets closer. Having said that, the character changes needed to happen before R9, otherwise the underlying issues surrounding defense being ignored would only be exasperated. Razor Crest Shards and Conquest 7: More details on obtaining Razor Crest shards will be coming soon. As far as Conquest 7 (and the concern of no August Conquest), as mentioned in the video, Conquest 7 will experience a slight delay. Three Conquests over the next three-ish months is still the plan. This should result in little to no interference with the timeline of playing through the next three Conquests and reaping the resulting rewards of your efforts there. Executor Requirements: We saw a lot of discussion surrounding the requirements for Executor and it’s place in the fleet meta. It is our intention that the Executor will be commensurate in power to the difficulty involved in acquiring it. --- I hope this response sheds some light on our perspective. We will continue to escalate your feedback to the team and be here to answer as many questions as possible.NotRealUltra4 years agoSeasoned Newcomer139KViews1like1685CommentsShips 2.0 5/22/18 [Mega]
"CG_Tophat;c-1554913" wrote: We’ve been talking about it for awhile, but Ships 2.0 is almost upon us! As a studio we’re incredibly excited to bring you an updated Ships experience that includes the new Reinforcement Abilities. We thought it would be useful to take you on the journey we went through in what brought about the changes to Ships. We’d also like to tell you about what the scheduled roll out of Ships 2.0 will look like over the next month so you will be prepared to see those changes. If you want to get straight to that, then skip to the bottom. The Backstory About a year ago, we embarked on what we thought would be the relatively easy task of making a ship PvE table. This was intended to go with the “Coming Soon” Hardware Abilities. Our engineers put in the appropriate connections and code, and our designers sat down to begin the process of making Ship PvE content. But as we worked through creating the content, we realized more and more that we were simply just not satisfied with the experience. Ships over multiple encounters basically just resulted in everyone charging up the Capital Ships ultimate and then destroying the enemy fleet in one or two volleys. Furthermore, we saw the sentiment in the forums and we observed through data that players were not really engaging with Ships. And so we asked ourselves a tough question – could Ships be better? And to make Ships better, should we hold off on making PvE content? The answer we came to was yes on both accounts. So we thought about what could accomplish the goals we were hoping to achieve with ships, and decided to introduce – Reinforcement On Enter Battle Effects. Reinforcement On Enter Battle Effects means that all ships, when brought in to battle from Reinforcements, now do something new to the battlefield. The allure of the mechanic is that similar to games like Hearthstone or Magic the Gathering, your ability to change the battlefield is somewhat obscured by what’s in your “hand”, in this case the Reinforcements bar. And the more we poked at this idea we realized that this could have a transformative impact on the way ships played and created a more tactical and dynamic feel. A flavor of Reinforcement On Enter Battle Effects were originally supposed to be the Hardware Abilities that were “Coming Soon”. As stated above, from what we saw in the wild, along with our intuition, we knew we needed to refactor them significantly. So, with the move to the “new” Reinforcement On Enter Battle Effects, it meant that we needed more space on the battlefield so that bringing Reinforcements in felt meaningful. So we moved from 5v5 starting lineups to 3v3 starting lineups (don’t worry, you can still have five ships on the battlefield, you just start with three). And in moving to 3v3 starting lineups, it meant that ships needed to have their stats (including health, protection, damage, etc) and abilities updated to accommodate the experience. Why? Because ships were balanced for a 5v5 experience where there were no On Enter effects. And in doing all this, we fundamentally changed the overall experience. Ultimately, we think the experience has shifted from where 5v5 felt like a Naval Battle Simulation to 3v3 feeling like an intense aerial dogfight. And so Hardware Abilities became Reinforcement Abilities. Why are we telling all of this to you? As you look through the update and start playing with the new version of ships, you can get some insight into why things are different. Fundamentally, it was driven by us having made something, Ships, that you didn’t play with or like as much as we had hoped. In an effort to make it better, we meaningfully changed the Feature. Our hope is that you find the experience as interesting and compelling as we do. The Ship 2.0 Roll Out Finally, we want to talk about what the ships roll out looks like. Starting with the release of our next client, Title Update 12, Ships 2.0 combat will be live in Fleet Arena, Territory Battles, Territory Wars, Challenges, and the initial Capital Ship (not Fleet Mastery) events. All of the new Ship ability kits and stats will be live as well. In order to get you started quickly with the new ship content, we are providing some materials via the inbox as outlined in the patch notes. The materials we are gifting you should be enough for you to take at least two ships to level two of their Reinforcement Abilities. Additionally, we are going to be taking a Cantina Table node and adding Ship Reinforcement Material to it, so that players can start farming to power up their ships. We will be also releasing two bundles, so that players can bolster their fleets to engage in the new mode. In this update, you will see a Ship PvE table called Fleet Battles, but it is currently locked. We’re very close to finalizing the content, but changing the core experience required a tremendous amount of work and we still need some time to finish Fleet Battles. We are currently targeting a late June release of Fleet Battles. Fleet Battles will have its own energy and will be one of the locations where players can get Ship Omegas, Reinforcement Materials, and grindable locations for other ships/characters and gear. When Fleet Battles go live we will retire the Cantina Table node that supplies Reinforcement Materials. Please note that going forward, players will notice the star requirements for characters in Raids are incorrectly listed (ex: In a 6 star Raid, character requirements are listed as 7 star). Rest assured that this display bug should not affect gameplay and will be addressed at a later date. "CG_RyDiggs;c-1240429" wrote: Greetings Holotable Heroes! Territory Battles launches onto the Holotable! This is an epic, multi-phase battle, pitching the entire collection of characters and ships of every guild member against a progressively challenging, living battlefield. Territory Battles is restricted to players level 65 and higher. You can read our deep dive on the Territory Battles feature here, some highlights include: Territory Map All the player's units (characters or ships) can be deployed to a Territory, advancing progress toward earning stars in that territory and allowing select units to be used on missions in the Territory. Dynamic Updating An activity log updates showing the contributions all players made to the Territory either through deploying units or completing nodes on the Territory. Galactic Power Visually increases Whenever a player makes an investment in any unit, the players Galactic Power will visually increase. Combat Mission Battle where players earn additional Territory Points toward the Territory based on the number of encounters completed. Territory Deployment All the player's units can be deployed to a Territory, advancing progress toward earning stars in that Territory and allowing those units to be used on any missions in the Territory. GALACTIC POWER Galactic Power is a new way of gauging the power of your collection and is very important in the Deployment Mission in Territory Battles. Galactic Power can be viewed in a variety of locations including when activating or upgrading a unit, in the Unit Inventory HUD, and in the player profile. Guild Galactic Power is the sum of the Galactic Power of all guild members. This can be viewed in the guild home HUD and in a new leaderboard under Territory Battles. A second leaderboard has been added to display the guilds with the highest stars earned in each Territory Battle. This reset monthly. GUILD SEARCH We encourage our players to invite more players to their guild to get the most out of Territory Battles! To make this easier, the ability to join an ally guild has been expanded to allow searching for a guild using a variety of criteria such as guild name, members, and Guild Galactic Power. In addition, players can search for guilds and send an invite request without leaving their current guild. (Maximum of 1 purchase) Bundle Contents include: • Character Shards: Captain Solo (x40) • Credits: 150,000 • XP Droids: 15x Tier 4 • Ability Mats GENERAL • Updated the Splash Screen to include Territory Battles. • In extreme circumstances where there is a disconnect between the game store and the catalog, if the game fails to get the correct price of anything in the store, instead of defaulting to the USD price in all regions, the store will now default to the text “TAP FOR PRICE”. This will reveal the correct price in the pop-up confirmation to purchase. • The “Retreat” button has been updated to say “Forfeit” in situations where something is lost for taking that action (ex. Loss of Squad Arena Attempt) • The resolution of an image in the 2x events popup (from Cantina Home) has been increased to make the image clearer. • Raid rewards no longer require a client restart to appear in the inbox. PERFORMANCE • Fixed an issue where a red screen was flashing during the game loading sequence. • Resolved a problem where battle animations have a slight delay. • Fixed numerous asset download/network errors – which displayed as 104.0 Errors. • Reduced hitching in combat and fleet combat – which was primarily impacting Android users, but will resolve any issues on both platforms. • Fixed a number of crashes on lowend devices (particularly those introduced by Update 8.1). • Fixed crashes that occurred when Emperor Palpatine uses the Power of the Darkside AOE attack. • Optimized memory overhead on iOS and Android. • Resolved a few issues where the game would hang or get stuck in a loading loop after Galactic War. • Fixed an issue where the find for MK4 Arakyd Droid Caller Salvage was sometimes causing a loading loop. BUGS UI • Fixed the bug where the Challenge countdown timer stopped updating in realtime. • The chat hitbox is now dynamic based on the width of the preview rather than a static width. This was particularly problematic with Thrawn as Lead in the Forrest Moon event and with full Ewok squads in Phase two of the Heroic AAT. • Fixed an issue where the Home button on Android dev ices would cause certain screens (like the character skill upgrade window) to overlap. (Note: This will not fix all instances of this issue, but specifically the ones caused by the Home button.) • Fixed an issue where tapping on "SIM" in Challenges when there are no Sim tickets on the account prompted players to purchase Cantina or normal energy and tickets. • Fixed an issue which should prevent the appearance of a negative credit value when trying to upgrade mods. • Resolved an issue where the Galactic War chest icon appears on Hard nodes. • Fixed an issue where the art for the Bounty Hunter Challenge briefly replaces the images for other challenges on the challenge screen. • Fixed an issue where guild icons would appear incorrectly in the “Ally Management” screen. • Fixed an issue where the energy icon is offset on 4:3 devices. • Fixed an issue where the Tip Ticker in the Store will flash rapidly. • Fixed an issue where not all hits, critical and normal, would show on the screen at once. This was particularly noticeable with Wicket’s “Forest Ambush” ability. • Fixed an issue where “Last Activity Time” updated when a player is attacked in Squad Arena. The “Last Activity Time” should now only update when the player takes action. CHARACTERS • Admiral Ackbar: Fixed an issue that could cause “Rebel Coordination” to fail to call an Assist. • Clone Sergeant Phase I: Critical Chance from "Concentrated Fire" will now stack with other sources of Critical Chance. • Emperor Palpatine: “Let the Hate Flow” will no longer affect damage-immune targets. • Ewok Elder: "Tribal Healer" will no longer heal Sith allies under a Darth Nihilus leader. • Hoth Rebel Scout: Turn Meter gain from “Bold Maneuvers” will now correctly use one chance roll for all allies, instead of separate chance rolls for each ally. • Fixed a text error in Talia’s special ability “Water of Life” at level 1 says “All other allies recover…” instead of “Each other ally recover…” • Fixed an issue with Jyn Erso’s “Rebel Counterattack” description in German which implies that more than one Rebel can be revived. Again, from all of us here at Capital Games, we thank you the community, for matching our passion and support for this beloved game. Cheers!
